One of the biggest musical moments of 2020 came when Billie Eilish completed a big four sweep at this past January’s Grammy Awards. Together with her brother and producer Finneas, Eilish left with 11 awards altogether, including wins for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Showcasing their wonderful chemistry once again, Billie and Finneas shared a soothing performance from the comfort of their quarantine as a part of the One World: Together At Home festival.

Performing Bobby Hebb’s “Sunny,” Billie shared her reasoning behind her song choice before she began the performance.

“I love this song, it always warmed my heart, it made me feel good and wanted to make you guys feel good,” she said. Billie and Finneas performed for a little over two minutes as he sat by her side and played the piano. Concluding their performance, Billie thanked those who were watching before the camera moved on to the next performance.

During the two-hour special, Lady Gaga and Lizzo delivered covers of Nat King Cole’s “Smile” and Aretha Franklin’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” while Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes performed a duet of Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World.” Among the many other performances from the night, Taylor Swift took to her recent album Lover to perform “Soon You’ll Get Better.”

Created by Lady Gaga in partnership with the World Health Organization and Global Citizen, Saturday night’s One World: Together At Home festival featured performances from some of the music industry’s best. With tours and concerts canceled all across the world as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the livestream festival was a perfect way for fans to hear their favorite artists perform as well as honor the healthcare workers who continue to fight the virus.

Making a surprise appearance at the festival, Beyonce joined the broadcast to deliver an important message as the world watched.

Beyonce thanked the frontline workers, those she labeled as “true heroes,” for their constant fight and delivered hope for their safety before diving into her central message, speaking on the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on African Americans.

“Black Americans disproportionately belong to these essential parts of the workforce that do not have the luxury of working from home,” she said. “And African American communities at large have been severely affected in this crisis. Those with pre-existing conditions are at an even higher risk. This virus is killing black people at an alarmingly high rate here in America.”

Continuing, she shared a recent report about the virus from her hometown of Houston. “A recent report from my home city of Houston, Texas, shows that of COVID-19 deaths within Houston city limits, 57 percent of fatal cases are African Americans.” Concluding her message, Beyonce begged viewers to stay safe and protect themselves in the midst of the virus.

“Please protect yourselves. We are one family, and we need you. We need your voices, your abilities, and your strength all over this world. I know it’s very hard,” she said. “Please be patient, stay encouraged, keep the faith, stay positive, and continue to pray for our heroes.”

The One World: Together At Home festival also saw performances from Lady Gaga herself, Lizzo, Taylor Swift, and Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello.

Sharing her seventh album Lover last summer, Taylor Swift has kept her name in headlines for the majority of 2020, for reasons both in and out of her control. Keeping things on a positive note, the year saw Taylor debut the video for “The Man” and well as make a number of charitable donations to Tennessee tornado relief efforts and a worried and broke freelance music photographer for their rent.

The world’s best-selling musician of 2019 joined the lengthy list of artists for Saturday’s One World: Together At Home festival hosted by Lady Gaga in partnership with the World Health Organization and Global Citizen for a livestreamed performance.

One of the final performers of the night, Taylor decided to perform a song of her own, tapping Lover to play “Soon You’ll Get Better.” The performance came after Taylor was forced to postpone all of her 2020 performances due to the coronavirus pandemic. New tour dates have yet to be announced, but all purchased tickets for the 2020 dates will be transferred over to the rescheduled date.

A two-hour special, the One World: Together At Home festival also saw performances from Lady Gaga, Lizzo, and Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, all who performed classic records by Nat King Cole, Aretha Franklin, and Louis Armstrong respectively.

In a year where the coronavirus pandemic has postponed or canceled a number of tours for artists in all genres, Saturday night’s One World: Together At Home festival was a way to bring live performances to fans all around the world in a safe way thanks to the beauty of livestream. Organized by Lady Gaga in partnership with the World Health Organization and Global Citizen, the festival brings performances from Gaga herself, Lizzo, Pharrell, Billie Eilish and more.

Joining the star-studded lineup, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes performed a cover of a Louis Armstrong classic.

Just days after the couple put smiles of the faces of young kids in a hospital thanks to surprise video chats, the two delivered a heart-warming performance of Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World” from the comfort of their quarantine setup in Miami. Their performance followed that of Lady Gaga and Lizzo’s who shared covers of Nat King Cole’s “Smile” and Aretha Franklin’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” respectively.

Cabello and Mendes also participated in the iHeartRadio Living Room Concert For America where they performed “My Oh My” from Cabello’s Romance album.
