Does Netflix’s ‘Skip The Foreplay’ Feature Actually Exist?

Bridgerton Jonathan Bailey
Netflix

On Sunday morning, Netflix users went wild over a seemingly new product feature that could potentially save them from some awkward moments. According to a supposed screencap from inside the app, the streamer now offered a “Skip the Foreplay” option that would move past racy content in shows like Bridgerton and The Witcher in case you wanted to watch the programs with your parents and/or kids.

“Skip the foreplay, literally,” the screenshot read. “Make family movie night less awkward by deleting naughty scenes from this show.”

The image was tweeted by Soren Iverson, who wrote, “Netflix ‘skip the foreplay’ feature removes naughty scenes to make family movie night less awkward.”

While the feature garnered a surprising amount of positive reactions, the self-proclaimed “prudes” among us might not want to get too excited. After the tweet went unexpectedly viral and racked up over 21 million views as of this writing, Iverson posted an update to let everyone know the whole thing was just a joke.

“Well this blew up,” Iverson tweeted. “I make unhinged stuff like this daily so if you lol’d at this (or breathed through the nose a lil at least), then pls DEMOLISH that follow button.”

Iverson wasn’t kidding (about the reactions at least). The initial “Skip the Foreplay” tweet racked up a ton of responses from both people who were fully on board with the option and those who prefer their favorite shows and movies to remain uncensored.

You can see some of the reactions below:

Meek Mill Drags His Former MMG Compatriot Wale, Who He Says ‘Never Liked Me’

It looks like everybody in hip-hop is catching the rap beef bug. After Kendrick Lamar threw a lyrical chair in the direction of Drake and J. Cole on Future and Metro Boomin’s new album a few weeks ago, all hell has broken loose. The chaos now encompasses GloRilla and JT, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, and now, even Meek Mill is letting his Twitter fingers fly again (I guess he forgot what happened the last time he got too reckless online).

This time, the target for Meek’s ire is another frequent collaborator: former Maybach Music Group compatriot Wale, who apparently was seen in a photo with another rapper with whom Meek has an unfriendly relationship. Ant Glizzy, a rapper from Washington, DC — like Wale — had previously done an interview with Akademiks in which he suggested that Wale and Meek had so much friction that Wale apparently “hated” Meek.

After Wale wrote, “When u get in other people unserious drama in this industry 90pct of the time they be back friends… eventually ..and then u look silly,” Meek unleashed a torrent of criticism for his former labelmate, despite previously shutting down rumors of beef between the two.

Sharing a link to Akademiks’ TikTok (apparently ignoring he has had it in for the Instagram influencer for some time, as well), Meek snapped back, “I ignored this because if this was true you would be in danger … but now I see you around guys that’s on full meek campaigns.” In a follow-up, he also insinuated that he even risked his freedom while on probation to jump into a fight and save Wale, who was getting “beat up” at his own birthday party.

“When I met wale he got beat up at his bday party in dc got his teeth knocked out,” he wrote. “I jumped in because a celebrity like him invited me I was violating probation in dc risked my life… to find out he never liked me will make you angry! That’s just me tho… I tried to be cool with this lame for Ross business I woulda been treated him.”

Maybe Meek’s still drunk from partying at Wrestlemania… But at some point, you’d think he would learn to handle his problems out of the public eye.

Jonathan Majors Has Avoided Jail Time But Must Attend A 52-Week Program For Domestic Violence Intervention

Jonathan Majors Court
Getty Image

Last December, Jonathan Majors was convicted of assault and harassment against ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. This verdict followed extensive lead-up that included messy defense tactics from Majors’ attorney, who was called out by the judge, who in turn did not appear to be thrilled with the defense’s attempts to sway public opinion by releasing text messages and the like.

In the end, however, a New York jury found Majors guilty on two of three counts against him, and since that time, his team attempted to postpone sentencing but decided to give up that fight. Variety now reports that Majors, likely because this case produced a first-time conviction, has avoided jail time. He will instead serve a year of probation and be required to attend a year-long domestic violence intervention program, as Hollywood Reporter reports. Deadline further detailed more about the program for “in person batterers” along with more conditions of this probation:

In sentencing Monday, Judge Gaffey also issued a permanent order of protection against any contact whatsoever with Jabbari and continued therapy for Majors. The actor cannot apply for or own a gun, the judge also said. Any violation of the sentencing terms could result in Majors being put behind bars for up to 364 days, Gaffey made clear today. If Majors does not complete the West Coast intervention program, he could also face six months in jail.

Majors did not make a statement ahead of sentencing. Jabbari, however, told the judge, “He is not sorry and has not accepted responsibility. He will do this again. He will hurt another women. This is a man who believes he’s above the law.”

Following Majors’ conviction, Disney/Marvel Studios cut ties with him on the role of Kang the Conqueror, which had appeared to be set for a long-term MCU run. Additionally, Disney made the decision to shelve Magazine Dreams, which stars Majors as a troubled body builder who is prone to violence and rage. As noted above, he could eventually face jail if he violates his probation in any way, including any failure to complete his intervention program.

When Does ‘Shōgun’ Episode 8 Come Out?

shogun
fx

Shogun is the latest TV show to fill the Game of Thrones-shaped void in your life, at least until House of the Dragon returns to screens. Shōgun follows an ambitious English navigator who finds himself shipwrecked in feudal Japan, where he finds himself at the center of complex familial and political drama. And… other stuff.

The first seven episodes are now available on Hulu (or Disney+ depending on your location) so you can catch up before the rest of the season.

When Does Shōgun’ Episode 8 Come Out?

Shogun episode 8, titled “The Abyss Of Life,” will premiere at 3 a.m. ET on April 9 on Hulu in the U.S. before airing on FX at 10 p.m. ET later that day. Here is the official synopsis for the episode: “Toranaga’s defeated clan moves to Edo and awaits their fate. Blackthorne must decide who he fights for — the lord who has turned his back on him, or the ambition that brought him to Japan in the first place.”

There are only three episodes left in the series, which has become one of FX’s biggest hits. The show has been dubbed a “limited series,” many fans are hoping for another season, though showrunners Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo told the Hollywood Reporter that they feel the story is done. “We took the story to the end of the book and put a period at the end of that sentence. We love how the book ends; it was one of the reasons why we both knew we wanted to do it — and we ended in exactly that place.”

People Are Celebrating The 2024 Eclipse By Remembering Trump Staring At The Last Solar Eclipse Without Wearing Glasses

trump

The four years that Donald Trump was president were filled with a lot of bad stuff, to put it lightly. But there was some funny and inexplicably weird moments, too, like the time he placed a candy bar on the head of a child dressed as a Minion. Or when he lobbed packages of paper towels into a crowd of Hurricane Maria survivors. And who could forget the time he served a buffet of McDonald’s and other fast food items to the Clemson Tigers football team after they won the National Championship Game (OK, that one kind of ruled)? But the single funniest moment of his presidency might have been the time he stared straight at the sun during a solar eclipse without wearing glasses.

On August 21, 2017, Trump and his wife Melania stood on the Truman Balcony at the White House to watch the solar eclipse. As CNN reported at the time:

This, from the White House pool report of the moment filed by the Guardian’s Ben Jacobs is, um, amazing: “At approximately 2:39, the President initially gesticulated to the crowd below and pointed at the sky. As he did so, one of the White House aides standing beneath the Blue Room Balcony shouted ‘don’t look.’”

The damage was done (to Trump’s eyes), but hopefully he won’t make the same mistake again today, during the first solar eclipse since 2017. Instead, he’ll post an extremely weird video where the outline of his head blocks out the sun. Everyone else is enjoying that Crazy Moment in Trump History.

Wear your glasses, folks.

Why Did J. Cole Apologize For His Kendrick Lamar Diss ‘7 Minute Drill?’

j cole
Getty Image

If you were already exhausted by the so-called “rap beef” (ugh) between J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar after the past week, don’t worrry; you’re in good company. J. Cole himself was apparently done before his diss song, “7 Minute Drill,” was a full 72 hours old. During his set at Dreamville Festival, he straight-up apologized to his good buddy Kendrick and called the track the “lamest sh*t” of his life.

For what it’s worth, his assessment probably came after seeing the less-than-lukewarm response the track received from rap fans online, who questioned his decision to call Kendrick’s Grammy-winning album To Pimp A Butterfly sleep-inducing after that’s been the primary argument against his music on Twitter since before everybody on there became a fake activist in 2014.

It’s also probable that J. Cole realized that he and Kendrick had no real prior animosity and he was just the victim of splash damage from Kendrick’s incisive call-out on Future & Metro Boomin’s “Like That.” Although Kendrick declared “motherf*ck the Big Three / It’s just big me” most of his shots were seemingly reserved for Drake, against whom he has been pitted by rap fans almost since their near-parallel ascensions from the blog era of the late aughties.

In any case, it appears that Cole didn’t really want smoke, was equally disappointed in his own conribution to the three-way feud, and has decided to let the two actual contenders duke it out without his input. If only he’d realized this BEFORE he dropped Might Delete Later, this whole mess could have been avoided.

‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ Viewers Have A Lot Of Thoughts About The Series Finale ‘Fixing’ The Ending Of ‘Seinfeld’

Curb Your Enthusiasm Finale Seinfeld
HBO

Curb Your Enthusiasm aired its series finale, and just as the internet predicted, Larry David ended his curmugdeony HBO run by essentially recreating the now-infamous Seinfeld finale.

Originally airing in 1998, the Seinfeld finale went down as one of the most hated nights in television as the classic NBC sitcom ended with Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer going to jail after years of being the most horrible, self-absorbed people in New York City finally caught up with them.

In the Curb finale, David already seemed to be heading towards a Seinfeld redux after he was arrested earlier in the season in Georgia for violating the state’s voting laws by giving Leon’s aunt a glass of water while she was in line. (The south, everybody!) The finale opened with David facing trial for the unusually decent act, and things immediately took a turn as Larry’s year of being the worst came back to haunt him.

Via Washington Post:

The coffee store operator whom Larry competed against out of spite, the golf club owner whose black swan he killed, Trump administration whistleblower Alexander Vindman — they and many others (even Bruce Springsteen) take the stand to recount Larry’s many, many offenses (stealing shoes from a Holocaust museum, stealing flowers from a memorial, eating a dying dog’s last meal) against decorum and basic good behavior.

Like the Seinfeld finale, Larry gets slapped with a one year prison sentence. It sure seems like Larry is about to completely ape the most infamous ending in television until an unlikely savior arrives: Jerry Seinfeld. The comedian reveals to the judge that one of the jurors bumped into him at a coffee shop and violated the sequester, which results in Larry scoring a mistrial. As Jerry picks Larry up at prison, the Curb finale takes one final jab at the Seinfeld ending.

“You don’t want to end up like this,” Seinfeld says. “No one wants to see it. Trust me.”

As you can see by the reactions below, Curb fans were loving that David took such a huge swing by doubling down on the Seinfeld finale that people have complained about for years:

However, one user doesn’t think David was trying to fix anything and fully believes the Curb finale was a straight-up finger to the haters:

All seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm are available to stream on Max.
