The Ladies Of ‘SNL’ Try To ‘Get That Boy Back’ In A Hilarious Country Music Video Parody With Chris Stapleton

The ladies of Saturday Night Live are giving a go at country music. Tonight (April 12), Chloe Troast, Chloe Fineman, and Ego Nwodim starred in “Get That Boy Back,” a new country bop in which the three get back at their men, who they believe are cheating.

As the age-old adage holds, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. But these women have some tricks up there sleeves.

“He’s playing with my heart, baby, he’s no good, so I took my lipstick, wrote my name on his hood,” sings Nwodim.

Fineman comes in, revealing how she vandalized her man’s truck.

“Mess with me, I’ma mess you up, so I took my keys to his Chevy pickup. My man left and he didn’t dream he kind, y ‘all the mess with his truck, I’ll destroy his mind,” she sings.

Troast may have the most insidious prank of them all, which entails her sneaking into her ex’s mother’s home, and convincing her she’s losing her mind. “He’s got a new chick and he thinks she rocks, but I’ll get him back with my break-up bod. I’m in his parents’ house, painted just like their wall, whispering, ‘get out’ in the middle of the night. Get out!,” she sings.

Elsewhere in the video, we see the ladies have made a big mistake. Chris Stapleton, who plays the alleged villain in the video, shares that he wasn’t actually cheating, and reveals what exactly caused such confusion.

Chris Stapleton Displayed Raw Vulnerability In A Performance Of ‘Mountains Of My Mind’ On ‘Saturday Night Live’

In his second performance of the night, Chris Stapleton laid it all out on the table. Taking to the Saturday Night Live stage once again, Stapleton performed “Mountain Of My Mind” from his fifth studio album, Higher.

This time, Stapleton was all alone on stage — just him and his guitar. The solo aspect of the performance allowed for viewers to visualize the feeling Stapleton and his wife, Morgane, were feeling when they wrote the song together.

Stapleton previously opened up about the songwriting process for “Mountain Of My Mind” in an interview with GQ.

“Everybody has some version of that. Just ‘I want to get the f*ck out of here. I’ve had enough,” said Stapleton. “I don’t want to be whoever I’m supposed to be today.’ Whether it’s a mother raising kids or somebody getting older and lonely. And anybody who’s been in the position we’re in has some kind of impostor syndrome. You start to not feel like a real person, you know what I’m saying? You start to understand when you see guys talk about themselves in the third person. The reason they do that, I believe, is that they’re not really talking about themselves. They’re talking about whatever the thing is of themselves that people want to purchase or go see.”

Olivia Rodrigo Made A Surprise Appearance During No Doubt’s Coachella Set To Perform ‘Bath Water’

Coachella has been full of surprises this weekend. During this year’s festival, fans have been eager to see No Doubt perform with its classic line-up for the first time in years.

During No Doubt’s performance, the Gwen Stefani-fronted band performed several fan favorites, including “Don’t Speak,” “Hey Baby,” “Hella Good,” and more. As the band performed “Bath Water” a special guest made a surprise appearance on stage. Joining the band was pop hitmaker Olivia Rodrigo.

While with the band, Rodrigo matched Stefani’s energy as they rocked about the stage, like two rock icons representing different generations.

This comes as a full-circle moment to Rodrigo, who has often cited No Doubt and Stefani among her favorite artists. In a recent profile on Stefani for Nylon, Rodrigo praised Stefani’s versatility and how her craft has evolved throughout her three-decade spanning career.

“Gwen’s ability to evolve and explore different styles of music, songwriting and aesthetic while still remaining true to herself is incredibly inspiring,” said Rodrigo. “To me, she’s a prime example of an artist who defies stereotypes and preconceived boundaries and just makes stuff that she thinks is cool. If that’s not a true artist, I don’t know what is.”

Chris Stapleton Brought Country Flair To The ‘SNL’ Stage In A Performance Of ‘White Horse’

Tonight (April 13), country hitmaker Chris Stapleton made a return to the Saturday Night Live stage. Still riding the high from the release of his fifth album, Higher, which was released last November, Stapleton crushed it in a performance of “White Horse,” a favorite from the album.

While on stage, Stapleton was joined by a full country band. Dressed in a stylish cowboy hat and fresh western wear, Stapleton delivered strong vocals, showcasing the emotional rawness of this particular song.

“If you want a cowboy on a white horse / Ridin’ off into the sunset / If that’s the kind of love you wanna wait for / Hold on tight, girl, I ain’t there yet,” sings Stapleton on the song’s chorus.

Tonight marks Stapleton’s third time on SNL — his first being in 2016 and his most recent being in 2018. Over the years, he’s become one of the biggest names in country music. While Stapleton is certainly a household name, he revealed in an interview with GQ that he never anticipated becoming as famous as he is now.

“I’d be lying if I said that I don’t like going out and playing a show to a full house of people. Especially when you’ve played for no people. That’s the drug,” he says. “But to be famous for the sake of being famous…. That was never the main want.”

Max Holloway KO’d Justin Gaethje With One Second Left In The BMF Title Match

Max Holloway (26-7) knocked out Justin Gaethje (25-5) with one second remaining at UFC 300 from Las Vegas before UFC veteran Mark Coleman wrapped the BFM title around his waist.

Holloway’s leg was peppered throughout the fight, as a brutal blister developed behind his lead calf. Gaethje went after the calf from the opening bell and the two exchanged big strikes throughout the first. Holloway stunned him with a spinning back kick as the first round ended.

Through the second and third, Gaethje remained committed to the leg kicks, while Holloway spoke with his hands. Holloway pieced together combos up top and into the body, but couldn’t find a breakthrough. Gaethje appeared to get some momentum in the fourth round, landing a strike that sent Holloway on his back momentarily. In the fifth and final round, Holloway and Gaethje emptied the tank, with Holloway temporarily hurting the champ and appearing close to a finish.

Gaethje fought off of the cage and the fight appeared destined to go the distance until, with 10 seconds remaining, Holloway stood in the middle of the Octagon, pointed at the mat, and demanded a war to end the fight. As the two tossed hands, Holloway slipped a strike and countered with a right hook that sent Gaethje to sleep.

Holloway was on a two-fight win streak at featherweight before moving up to lightweight Saturday night.

Billie Eilish Previewed A New Song, ‘Lunch,’ During Coachella And Its Lyrics Are So Explicit Fans Are Having Fits Online

New Billie Eilish music is on the way. Earlier this month, Eilish announced her third album, Hit Me Hard And Soft, is dropping in May. She also shared there would be no singles ahead of the album release, to allow for fans to experience the album in full. But if you were one of the fans at Eilish’s Do Labs party at Coachella today (April 13), you got to hear some of Eilish’s new music.

During the party, Eilish previewed a song called “Lunch.” Upon first listen, “Lunch” is a steamy, suggestive song, which seems to have some sapphic undertones.

“I could eat that girl for lunch / Yeah, she dances on my tongue / Tastes like she might be the one / And I can never get enough / I could buy you so much stuff / It’s a craving, not a crush,” sings Eilish.

This is perhaps one of Eilish’s more explicit songs, and fans online are freaking out.

One fan on Twitter dubbed the song the “gay anthem of the year.”

Another fan expressed happiness over the fact that Billie outwardly sang about her queerness. “FINALLY A GAY BILLIE SONG WE ARE OUT OF THE TRENCHES,” they said.

Elsewhere during the party, Eilish debuted two other songs, “Chihiro” and “L’Amour De Ma Vie.”

You can hear the previews above.

Hit Me Hard And Soft is out 5/17 via Interscope. Find more information here.

Rick Ross Seemingly Called Drake A ‘White Boy’ And Suggested He Got A Nose Job On His Scathing Diss Track, ‘Champagne Moments’

The rap game is a blood bath this weekend. Three weeks after the release of Future and Metro Boomin‘s collaborative album We Don’t Trust You, Drake seemingly responded to the album’s Kendrick Lamar-assisted “Like That,” on which, Lamar is thought to have dissed Drake and J. Cole. Earlier today (April 13), A track by Drake called “Push Ups” surfaced online. Certain lines from the song were interpreted as subliminal shots toward Lamar, Metro, The Weeknd, and Rick Ross. While the song garnered much buzz, Drake may not get the last laugh in this ongoing war of words.

Hours after “Push Ups” leaked online, Ross shared “Champagne Dreams,” which is thought to be a response toward Drake. Though Ross doesn’t call out Drake by name, the song features an audio clip from an interview with Drake, during which, he praises Ross. But now, it appears idols have turned rivals.

Throughout the song, Ross seemingly refers to Drake as “white boy.” He also seems to accuse him of leaking “Push Ups” to generate buzz online.

But in one of the more shocking accusations, Ross implies that Drake got a nose job, as a means to fit in with Eurocentric beauty norms.

“You ain’t never want to be a n***a anyway, n***a /. That’s why you had an operation to make your nose smaller than your father nose,” raps Ross.

“Champagne Moments” hasn’t been formally released to DSPs yet. But you can listen to a clip of the song above.

Who Did Drake Diss In His Response To Kendrick Lamar (And Others)?

drake

Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s long-running beef that dates back to the latter infamous “Control” verse, which had the rap game in a frenzy, is now at its breaking point. Things heated up when Kendrick made a surprise appearance on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You track “Like That” and delivered several lines at Drake. They include: “F*ck sneak dissin’, first-person shooter, I hope they came with three switches,” “Motherf*ck the big three, n****, it’s just big me,” and “‘Fore all your dogs gettin’ buried / That’s a K with all these nines, he gon’ see Pet Sematary.”

Since then, Drake has hinted at a response to Kendrick’s disses, and today he finally delivered. Drake’s response seemingly leaked today, but the intention with the release became much clearer when Drake returned with the official version of the track (with some help from Akademiks). The track, allegedly called “Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50)” (or something along those lines), aims at not only Kendrick Lamar, but The Weeknd, Future, Rick Ross, Ja Morant (allegedly), Travis Scott (seemingly), and Metro Boomin. It’s floating around throughout social media, so head over to Twitter/X if you haven’t heard it yet. Nonetheless, a lot is going on throughout this 4-minute track, so let’s break down which lines are disses and who they’re aimed at.

Kendrick Lamar

Drake and Kendrick’s beef goes back to the “Control” days (see the history here), so with years of animosity built up, Drake used this moment to fire off on Kendrick. The point is, there are a lot of lines directed at Kendrick. Check them out below:

A response to Kendrick Lamar’s Got 2TEEZ with me, I’m snatchin’ chains and burnin’ tattoos, it’s up” line on “Like That”:

You won’t ever take no chain off of us
How the f*ck you big steppin’ with a size seven men’s on?

and

I be with some bodyguards like Whitney

A possible claim that Kendrick Lamar allegedly had to give 50% to his former label TDE:

Extortion baby, whole career you been shook up
‘Cause Top told you drop and give me fifty like some push-ups, huh
Your last one bricked, you really not on sh*t
They make excuses for you ’cause they hate to see me lit
Pull your contract ’cause we gotta see the split
The way you doin’ splits, bitch, your pants might rip
You better do that motherf*ckin’ show inside the bitty
Maroon 5 need a verse, you better make it witty
Then we need a verse for the Swifties
Top say drop, you better drop and give ’em fifty

Claims that Kendrick is not in any “big three”:

You ain’t in no Big Three, SZA got you wiped down
Travis got you wiped down, Savage got you wiped down

Wordplay with Kendrick’s former labels TDE & Aftermath:

Like your label, boy, you in the scope right now
And you gon’ feel the aftermath of what I write down

A response to Kendrick Lamar’s “Your best work is a light pack/N****, Prince outlived Mike Jack’, n****, bum” line on “Like That”:

What’s a prince to a king? He a son, n****

Another diss, this time aimed at Kendrick’s support in his hometown of Compton, CA:

Get more love in the city that you from, n****

Drake letting us know the beef did not start with “Like That”:

And that f*ckin’ song y’all got did not start the beef with us
This sh*t been brewin’ in a pot, now I’m heatin’ up
I don’t care what Cole think, that Dot sh*t was weak as f*ck

A request for Kendrick to drop his rumored diss at Drake:

You had a song for four years, drop that sh*t and shut your mouth

Future

Drake and Future were once frequent collaborators, but something went wrong in their friendship that led to a war of words that produced two albums and an Avengers-type formation of artists who also seem to have issues with Drake. After Future took aim at Drake on We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, Drake fired off a bunch of responses on his new diss track:

A response to Future’s “You a n**** number one fan, dog/Sneak dissin’, I don’t understand, dog/Pillowtalkin’, actin’ like a fed, dog/I don’t need another fake friend, dog” line on “We Don’t Trust You”:

I could never be nobody number-one fan
Your first number one, I had to put it in your hand

Metro Boomin

Similar to Future, Drake and Metro were once frequent collaborators, but their relationship also burned to a crisp. There’s not too much directed at Metro on this track, aside from this line:

Metro, shut your hoe ass up and make some drums, n****

Travis Scott

With his two features on We Don’t Trust You, it seems like Travis Scott may have picked his side. Even before the album’s release, that seemed evident when Travis begged Future and Metro to play a preview of “Like That” during their Rolling Loud California headlining set. Drake seemingly caught on to this and issued a reply on his new record:

Rolling Loud stage, y’all were turnt, that was slick as hell
Sh*t’ll probably change if your BM start to kiss and tell

Rick Ross

Drake and Rick Ross’ friendship seemed like it would never break as the two delivered numerous collaborations over the years, including “Stay Schemin” and “Gold Roses.” Things have changed as Rick Ross not only hopped on Future & Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You track “Everyday Hustle,” but shared an Instagram Story of his driving with Kendrick Lamar’s verse on “Like That” playing. Naturally, Drake had some thoughts on that:

I might take your latest girl and cuff her like I’m Ricky
Can’t believe he jumpin’ in, this n**** turnin’ fifty
Every song that made it on the chart, he got from Drizzy
Spend that lil’ check you got and stay up out my business
Worry ’bout whatever goin’ on with you and (Uh)**

**The leaked version of the song had “Diddy” in place of “Uh.”

Ja Morant

This one seems a bit random, but it appears that Drake took a slight jab at Ja Morant after the former was seen with Brooklyn Nikole (Latto’s sister) Latto’s sister and Morant’s ex.

Ayy, shoutout to the hooper that be bustin’ out the griddy
We know why you mad, n****, I ain’t even trippin’

It might be connected to this:

The Weeknd

Just like Kendrick, Drake and The Weeknd’s beef is more than ten years old, though they’ve seemingly attempted to patch things up over the years. This is not one of those times as The Weeknd fired off a few lines at Drake on “All To Myself” from Future & Metro Boomin’s We Still Don’t Trust You. In response, Drake dissed The Weeknd, his managers, and the whole XO label:

Yeah, I’m the 6ix god, I’m the frontrunner
Y’all n**** manager was Chubbs lil’ blunt runner
Claim the 6ix, and you boys ain’t even come from it
And when you boys got rich, you had to run from it
Cash blowin’ Abel bread, out here trickin’ (Out here trickin’)
Shit we do for bitches he doin’ for n****s (What the fuck?)
Jets, whips, chains, wicked, wicked, wicked (Wicked, wicked)
Spend it like you tryna f*ck, boy, you trippin’, boy, you trippin’

and

Hugs and kisses, man, don’t tell me ’bout no switches

Stay tuned for more as this rap battle is just getting started.
