Claud Got A Shoutout From Paul Rudd On ‘Colbert’ As He Told The Story Of His Funny Appearance In Their Video

Paul Rudd popped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night (March 13), where the two talked about a ton. They discussed the massive popularity of Taylor Swift, her appearance at the Super Bowl to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce, and The Eras Tour. Rudd then began to open up more about how he took his daughter to the show and they had a lovely time, something that Colbert agreed with.

“Taylor was so nice to [my daughter] that, to this day, I would murder for her if she wanted me to,” Colbert joked with Rudd in agreement. (Colbert told that story in 2022, by the way.)

Rudd also discussed that by knowing Swift’s tour opener, Phoebe Bridgers, he met another musician named Claud while at one of the Eras shows. And it led to a truly hilarious moment. “I wasn’t familiar with Claud, but Claud told me that on their album, they had a song called ‘Paul Rudd.’ And then Claud said that, ‘We’re gonna film a video in two weeks, do you want to come by?’” Rudd explained.

Claud, who is signed to Bridgers’ Saddest Factory record label, then got Rudd to appear in the video for “A Good Thing” — even if it wasn’t the track named after him. “By the way, Claud is an amazing musician, and that song rocks,” he added.

Check out the sweet and funny discussion between Rudd and Colbert above.

Teacher admits there are 11 things that Boomer parents totally got right

Teresa Kaye Newman, a teacher about to have a son, knows a lot about how to deal with children. So she created a list of 11 things she agrees with Boomers on when it comes to raising kids.

Newman believes she has credibility on the issue because she has 13 years of experience dealing with “hundreds and hundreds” of other people’s kids and has seen what happens when her so-called “Boomer” parenting principles aren’t implemented.

Of course, Newman is using some broad stereotypes in calling for a return to Boomer parenting ideas when many Gen X, Millennial and Gen Z parents share the same values. But, as someone who deals with children every day, she has the right to point out that today’s kids are entitled and spend too much time staring at screens.

Here are the 11 things that Newman agrees with Boomers on when it comes to raising kids.

11 Things I agree with boomer parents on raising children

@teresakayenewman

11 Things I agree with boomer parents on raising children, as a #teacher and soon to be mom.

1. No iPads

“All I’m going to say is my kid has a whole world to explore and none of that has to do with being stuck in front of a tablet.”

2. No smartphone until high school

“Kids that are younger than that age do not know internet safety to a point where I feel comfortable letting them have free reign of the internet.”

3. Teaching the value of education

“What I’m going to teach them is [education] has nothing to do with how much money you’re making or how successful you’ll be professionally. But you will still value it, nonetheless. You will go with it as far as you possibly can, and then once you’re done with it, you can do whatever you want.”

4. Respect your teachers and treat them well

“This may be biased because I am a teacher, but everyone who has gone through a professional degree program and has put in the time and is there, giving you the quality education, deserves some type of attention and deserves to be treated well.”

5. Be kind to elderly folks

“If they’re on public transportation and they’re sitting down and there’s an old lady standing next to them and there are no other seats available, my child will know to stand up and give that lady his seat.”

6. Yes ma’am

Newman will teach her kid to use the terms sir and ma’am when speaking to adults. “It does not matter your age or status in society, as long as they are respecting their pronouns, that’s how we’re gonna be talking to other people.”

7. Greetings and gratitude

“Simple greetings and simple terms of gratitude are just not being taught like they used to. I think it’s really sad.”

8. Consequences for poor behavior

“If they’re neglecting their schoolwork and not doing what they’re supposed to do, they get their technology taken away. … Simple things like this are pretty common sense and I’m not sure why they’re not being done anymore.”

9. Respect adult conversations and spaces

“They don’t get to interrupt 2 adults speaking to each other. They don’t get to come and butt in at an inappropriate time when 2 people are talking to each other.”

10. Clean your mess

“My child is going to put as much work in the house as we are regardless of whether he’s paying rent out of his own pocket or not. That’s because when my son becomes an adult, I want him to be a partner or a spouse or a roommate that someone is proud to have around.”

11. Bedtime

“I don’t care how old my kid is as long as he is living under my roof as a minor; he’s gonna have some sort of bedtime. But this staying up until 3 or 4 or 5 o’clock in the morning or pulling all-nighters like kids are used to … is absolutely not normal. And I’m not going to have a kid that’s staying up that late and then not waking up the next day.”

‘Black Mirror’s Next Season Will Have A Sequel To One Of Its Best Episodes

Black Mirror USS Callister
Netflix

Black Mirror season 7 will officially return to Netflix next year, but when it arrives, one of the six episodes will look “a little familar.” During its Next on Netflix event in London on Thursday, the streamer announced that a sequel episode to “USS Callister” will be a part of the new season. Like the original episode, Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker will personally write the sequel.

“Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning,” Netflix said at the event. The streamer also dropped a new teaser for season 7 that notably includes the starship’s logo.

You can watch it below:

In the critically-acclaimed episode from season 4, the great Jesse Plemons plays Robert Daly, the reclusive founder of a wildly popular multiplayer game who grows tired of not being recognized by his co-workers. Unfortunately, he finds an healthy outlet for his emotions, and in true Black Mirror style, things do not go well for anyone foolish enough to trust technology.

Via The Hollywood Reporter:

The frustrated Daly simulates a Star Trek–like space adventure within the game, using his co-workers’ DNA to create digital clones of them and leading them as the captain of the USS Callister starship. But newly hired Nanette Cole, played by Cristin Milioti, ends up encouraging the other crew members to revolt against their captain.

Black Mirror season 7 starts streaming in 2025.

Unless of course, you don’t like pizza, in which case, we have to ask… who hurt you?

Jokes aside, Pi Day actually has a pretty long history. The first official Pi Day was first recognized in 1988 in San Francisco after the physicist Larry Shaw threw an official fruit pie party in San Francisco’s Exploratorium celebrating the mathematic constant. No shade to fruit pie, but we’re fully behind Pi Day’s shift from celebrating fruit pie to pizza. Don’t come for me but, pizza is the superior pie form.

In celebration of Pi’s big day, we’re shouting out all the best pizza deals going on right now. If you’re hoping for free pizza… well… keep hoping because you’re quickly going to see that rather than offering free food, these big pizza brands love to play on the value of Pi, so expect a lot of $3.14 deals.

Peter Piper Pizza — Buy one large pizza and get an additional one for $50% off. It’s not quite a BOGO deal, but it’s close.

Pizza Hut — Buy a menu-priced large pizza and receive one free large one-topping pizza when checking out with the code FREEPIZZA. See Peter Piper Pizza? This is how you do a Pi Day deal.

Round Table — Members of the Royal Rewards program can get a personal cheese pizza for $3.14 with the purchase of a large or extra large pizza.

Alex Jones Is Fuming That Everyone ‘Misunderstood’ What He Meant When He Said That He Will ‘Eat Your Leftist A**’

alex jones

Alex Jones will eat your leftist ass. Those are his words, not mine.

On Wednesday, the conspiracy theorist shared something truly bizarre (even for Mr. Weather Weapon) on X. On the right side of the image is a headshot-looking photo. On the left is the quote, “I will eat your leftist ass,” proudly attributed to Jones. Apparently this is something he says (screams) on his show. The catchphrase was even turned into a song, “Alex Jones Will Eat Your Leftist Ass,” which begins, “I will eat your leftist ass like corn on the cob.”

But you have it all wrong. Jones isn’t into cunnilingus. He was trying to prove a point about… something.

“The left has misunderstood what my intention was in posting this meme,” he wrote in a follow-up post. “I am taking about the road warrior collapse that has already begun because of the policy’s of The Great Reset. I am taking about Cannibalism as defined as the consumption of another human’s flesh. 10 days without food and over 80% of people start eating each other. You guys want to bring down civilization so I just wanted to warn you. Good luck…”

Uh… huh…

In related news, The Truth vs. Alex Jones, a documentary about how Alex Jones is a scumbag who claimed the Sandy Hook shooting that took the lives of 26 people was a hoax, premiered at South by Southwest this week. You can learn more about the film here.

The Previously Shelved ‘Snowpiercer’ Fourth Season Will See The Light Of Day After All (At A New Home)

snowpiercer_23-caro.jpg
WarnerMedia

Snowpiercer was a slightly confusing but still well-liked series based on the popular 2013 Bong Joon-Ho film of the same name, but as we know, that kind of love doesn’t always save a show from an uncertain fate. After initial delays, the first three seasons aired on TNT from 2020-2022. While season four was all set to go, the network announced that it would not be airing the upcoming season, much to fans’ dismay. The seasons were also taken off of Max.

Now, AMC has swooped in to save the day and finally give the story a proper home. The first three seasons will head to AMC+ later this year, which will hopefully give the show a much-needed boost before the fourth season finally debuts in early 2025.

Filming for the fourth season took place from March to August 2022, and the episodes have been collecting dust on an abandoned train ever since. The dystopian series stars Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs and later added Sean Bean. Clark Gregg and Michael Aronov are the newcomers for season four.

Ben Davis, executive vice president of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios, expressed excitement while also honoring the loyal fan base who has stuck around for years while the show got off the ground (and onto the train tracks):

Snowpiercer is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride with a loyal fanbase — similar to the passionate fandoms we serve across our biggest franchise series — and a welcome addition to AMC and AMC+. We look forward to giving viewers an opportunity to binge the first three seasons later this year, in anticipation of the arrival of a remarkable fourth season helmed by [new showrunner] Paul Zbyszewski and this stellar cast, which will premiere in 2025.”

Finally, AMC is branching out on comic-book stories beyond those The Walking Dead spinoffs.

Following the original theatrical version of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour concert film was the extended version (available to rent on Amazon’s Prime Video, Apple, Vudu, Xfinity, and YouTube & Google TV). Now, we have another version, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version). The film begins streaming via Disney+ on March 14 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

Ahead of that, though, Swift has teased the four additional acoustic songs that appear on this new version of the movie.

What Songs Were Added To Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)?

In the lead-up to the film’s release, clips of the acoustic songs were shared on social media. The songs are “Maroon,” “Death By A Thousand Cuts,” “You Are In Love,” and a fourth that has yet to be announced. The tunes were announced in the days leading up to the release. Meanwhile, “Cardigan” was revealed as another addition to the film back in February.

Swift wrote when she initially announced the new version of the film, “This week is truly the best kind of chaos. I’m thrilled to let you know I’ve found a streaming home for The Eras Tour Concert Film, and that home will be @disneyplus. For the first time we’ll be showing the entire concert (including ‘cardigan’, plus 4 additional songs from the acoustic section!!) and I’m calling it, huge shock, ‘Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)’.”

Check Out The Second Episode LP Giobbi’s ‘All In An Airstream’ Travelogue

Following last week’s debut episode, global dance music superstar and activist LP Giobbi has released the second part of her three-part travelogue, All In An Airstream.

Teaming up with DJ Tennis, LP Giobbi’s three-part docuseries highlights the duo’s 20-day cross-country road trip in (you guessed it) an Airstream motorhome. The tour – which made stops for pop-up performances in forests, lesser-known venues, and even a library – allowed the producer to slow down and connect more intimately with her fans.

While last week’s first episode highlighted the first leg of the tour in Asheville and Tennessee, today’s episode shows Giobbi and Tennis popping up in an abandoned aircraft at Tucson, AZ’s Pima Air & Space Museum, cooking meals in the desert, creating magic in the studio, igniting fire beats in Joshua Tree, and more.

“When Leah and I met, we immediately clicked on music,” Tennis says. “We like different kinds of music, so we get to merge different ideas into one song. Most of the time we don’t have anything in mind for what happens when we record; we’re both really curious.”

Clearly, that sense of curiosity makes for a great approach to travel, too!

Vampire Weekend Brought The Full Orchestral Vibes On Their New Fittingly Titled Song ‘Classical’

Vampire Weekend returned with a new song “Classical,” as the third preview from their upcoming album, Only God Was Above Us. Lead singer Ezra Koenig wrote the song and co-produced it alongside Ariel Rechtshaid. Keeping with the song’s title, it starts off as a fun jam session complete with an orchestral backing instrumental, giving it a truly unique and creative sound.

“That sinking feeling fades, but never really goes away / A staircase up to nothingness inside your DNA / Well, that’s a bleak sunrise,” Koenig sings. “Untrue, unkind and unnatural / How the cruel, with time, becomes classical.”

The music video, which was directed by Nick Harwood, finds the band rocking out on each of their instruments — all while a green screen puts various landscape shots, art, and other images behind them.

So far from the new record, Vampire Weekend have released other singles like “Capricorn” and “Gen-X Cops.” This marks the band’s return, as their first new album since 2019’s Father Of The Bride — and five years of fans waiting to hear more. Thankfully, it’s only just a few more weeks until it officially drops. They will also be heading out on tour later this year.

Check out Vampire Weekend’s video for “Classical” above.

Awkward home videos from the 80s and 90s show just how far parenting has come

Parenting has changed. A lot. So many things our parents did that were considered normal in our childhood—that is, for all us millennials and Gen Xers—would simply never fly today.

This is thanks in large part to the digital age, and the countless ways to access information. Radio, magazines, television, books, online blogs, Facebook parent groups, informational podcasts, public studies…thousands of voices helping shape family dynamics and warn of potential dangers.

If there’s ever any doubt into how far we’ve come, let technology once again remind you. A trip down memory lane via TikTok might be, as the kids say, a bit cringe, but boy can it help instill a little gratitude.

On a mission to share her childhood “one home video at a time,” a woman named Rachel has an entire TikTok account dedicated to short glimpses of her younger years.

Her content is an instant nostalgic hit for those of us who grew up in the 80s or 90s. We’re talking Rainbow Brite, roller skates, Sesame Street, backpack purses when they were cool for the first time. All the feel good stuff.

And also—maybe some of the not-so-feel-good stuff. Recently, Rachel shared a video of herself as a newborn with her mom…when viewers noticed something strange in her bottle.

@nostalgicallyrachel Replying to @B Indeed, it is. 💦 #wildtimes #wesurvived #taboo #homemovie #homevideo #nostalgia #nostalgic #80s #90s #1990s #1980s #memories #family #throwback #80sbaby #90sbaby #childhood #childhoodmemories #wholesome #oklahoma #takemeback #vlog #mylife #history #vintage #retro #90skid #80skid #80saesthetic #90saesthetic #vhs #smalltown #aesthetic #growingupinthe90s #millennial #millennialtok #1986 #response #react #water #indeed #newborn #baby #mom #breastfed ♬ Roslyn – Bon Iver & St. Vincent

“I’m sorry — IS THAT WATER,” one concerned viewer asked.

Rachel followed up with , “Indeed, it is”, writing “Sugar Water for Newborns circa 1986” in the video caption.

Once upon a time, sugar water was used as a bit of a cure-all for infants, helping fight off common colds, ease bellyaches, and everything in between.

And while some studies do show that sugar water can help ease pain, and certain hospitals do use it during painful procedures, professionals still suggest against administering it at home.

For one thing, babies don’t need water until they’re six months old. They get all the hydration they need from breastmilk or formula, according to WebMd.

Second, the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee says that any foods or beverages with added sugar should be avoided “during the first two years of life,” as it is likely to replace more nourishing foods and cause nutrient deficiency, and is “linked with increased risk of overweight or obesity.”

But for many parents today, this is not new news. Which made Rachel’s video so horrifying.

“As a new mom this genuinely is making me want to cry 😭 There was so much misinformation back then. Those poor babies,” one person wrote.

Of course, it could be worse. As one person shared, “My mom gave me Mountain Dew in my bottle 😳.” Yikes.

In another video, this one captioned “parenting before the internet” and shared by dad and TikTokker Vaughn Trainor, we see another bane of modern parenting—rice cereal.

Specifically, rice cereal being fed to newborns. Experts say that solid foods should not be introduced into a baby’s diet until at least four months old, when they can hold their head and sit upright on their own, start grabbing at things and show interest in food when the parents begin eating.

In this video, however, Trainor is one month old, laid back (also a big no no!) and being spoon fed by his mom, who is heard quoting the parenting magazine that suggested heavier things be eaten this way.

@mrvaughntrainor Parenting before the internet 🤣 i turned out alright 🤣🤣 #parenting #parentinghumor #90sparenting #babiesoftiktok #viral #funnyvideos ♬ original sound – Mrvaughntrainor

Over 5,000 people commented on this one, many of whom noted how this type of diet might influence common digestive issues many adults face.

And while there could be several factors contributing to this that go beyond what we were fed as babies, it is true that millennials seem to suffer the worst when it comes to gut health.

But it’s not just problematic food choices. Rachel shared yet another home video, this one titled “Nursery Tour circa 1986,” that showed her baby self lying in a crib surrounded by pillows, stuffed animals, and, for some reason, a mirror.

But it’s not just problematic food choices. Rachel shared yet another home video, this one titled “Nursery Tour circa 1986,” that showed her baby self lying in a crib surrounded by pillows, stuffed animals, and, for some reason, a mirror.

…All of which can be life threatening and lead to Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID), if you ask the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Which is why this comment pretty much sums up everyone’s collective feeling:

“It’s a miracle any of us survived.”

And while we can obviously make the case for “I’m still here, so it couldn’t’ have been that bad,” when you look at infant mortality statistics, which is the lowest it’s ever been worldwide, it’s hard to deny that maybe, just maybe, being more savvy about childcare could have something to do with that.

So, yes, many parents today might lean towards being more anxious by comparison. But it’s only because death is literally lurking at every corner! Yay vindication!

And as mortifying as some of these parenting behaviors might seem to us now, what doesn’t seem to change is parents wanting to raise a healthy kid, to the very best of their ability. We might have gentler, more science-backed ways to go about it, but the love remains the same.
