For all of time, Football fans and Swifties have been able to peacefully co-exist. They existed in different realms with only a few minor overlaps, like Swift mentioning the Eagles in her lyrics but for the most part, they didn’t need to choose. And now….it doesn’t feel that way. Times have changed and it’s getting scary out there for casual sports enjoyers. Sure, Swift wrote the lyrics “In your life you’ll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team” but she can’t really take her own advice now, can she?
Now that the Kansas City Chiefs advanced to the Super Bowl, the first question on everybody’s minds was “How will American Darling Taylor Swift make it back to see her BF play a game if she is across the globe making another quick million bucks?” The second question was: “Do you think they will try to project her face on The Sphere?” But we will focus on the first one.
Let’s face the cold hard facts: The Eras Tour resumes next weekend in Japan. Swift will take the stage on Sunday around 8 p.m. and wrap up around 11 p.m., which would be about 6 a.m. in Vegas. She then has to effectively time travel to make it back to the states to see her boyfriend toss a ball. But this conversation has happened before, obviously, on an episode of The West Wing from over twenty years ago. Don’t you remember?!
In season two, episode 15 of the popular drama, the gang is trying to figure out what time the President would return from his trip abroad, and it sounds an awful lot like your uncle trying to talk to you about Taylor Swift showing up at the game.
Rob Lowe’s character Sam Seaborn explains: “The flight is 13 hours long. He’s going to travel eastward from Tokyo leaving at 7:00 p.m. So when he crossed the International Dateline….3 a.m..” Which puts him in Washington at 6 p.m. on Thursday, the day he left Toyko. As for Swift, she would end up in Vegas right around kickoff. Once again, The West Wing saves the nation from impending doom. A clip from the scene was posted on X/Twitter:
Can Taylor Swift make the Super Bowl from her Tokyo concert? A West Wing episode from 2001 already answered this: pic.twitter.com/6LBQMSrCVw
While Lowe could not yet be reached for comment, he is a huge Swift/Kelce supporter, so you can use that information however you see fit. The moral of this time travel lesson is that if you have a private jet, rules don’t really apply to you. That journey would take a minimum of three layovers, two days, and a missing bag of luggage if she were flying commercial.
Sega Bodega has established himself as an in-demand collaborator, as he’s worked with artists like Björk, Caroline Polachek, Shygirl, and others. Now, though, he’s putting the focus on himself. He has a new album, his third and first since 2021’s Romeo, on the way. No title or release date has been confirmed yet, but what we do know is that he has a new song, “Deer Teeth,” out now.
Sega himself hasn’t said much about what the track’s about, but on his Instagram Story, he shared a fan comment that reads, “This song feels like I just woke up from a subconscious shifting level dream and I’m trying to hold on to the memory… like I could only hear something like this in a dream. But you’ve somehow captured that in sound to listen to over and over…. The last minute specifically sounds like zettaflare lasers launching me through space and time. Just really beautiful craftsmanship. Thank you Sega Dad!” Sega added, “Quite literally what my entire album is about. More on that soon tho.”
The song is the first release on Ambient Tweets, Sega’s new label that’ll feature new music from himself and other artists in the electronic realm.
There is no reason you shouldn’t be a morning person. I don’t care how long you have identified as “not a morning person,” the time to change that personal narrative is now. I can tell you from experience, as someone who was part of that crew, the grass is greener on the other side.
That’s not just my opinion either. Research shows that morning people have a greater overall satisfaction with life and are even less vulnerable to mental health problems. I know it can be hard to ditch an identity but if there was ever an exception — this is it.
Let’s clear up another narrative out there about “morning people.” You don’t have to wake up at four in the morning and immediately hit the gym like Mark Wahlberg to be in the club. The reality is not everyone has the same schedule or the same responsibilities and just because you wake up a few hours later, doesn’t mean that the morning is not yours.
Here are five easy morning moves you can make for better mental wellness.
DITCH THE NOISE
UPROXX
How good would you feel if you never had to wake up to your alarm again?
Ever hear your alarm in a television show or movie and immediately have a minor PTSD-like reaction? You’re not alone according to research. It seems obvious that being jarred awake by a blaring, obnoxious sound would be a terrible way to start the day, but somehow it has become the norm. That does’t have to be the way though, for years humans woke up without the assistance of an app. And you can do it too.
Now, if you are transitioning into being a morning person, telling you to lose the tool that helps you get up may seem cruel. But this is part of the benefits that come with being a morning person, embracing the power of the sun. Our relationship with the sun is a powerful one, and if you can get in sync with the sun in a meaningful way, there is are a lot of positives.
One of the positives comes from building a healthy circadian rhythm, which is the physical and mental journey our bodies go on every 24 hours. Natural light has a massive effect on our rhythm, and when you get into a good one, quality sleep is easier to come by. No surprise, when you get better sleep, it’s a lot easier to become a morning person.
If you are able to, pull back those blackout blinds and try to use the morning sun to wake up. Depending on how the sun comes into your room, you may be able to adjust your blinds so that the sun hits you at your desired time. If you don’t have adequate sunlight, there are great alarm clocks out there that utilize soft light to wake you up instead of noise.
One of the best habits I ever picked up when I was younger was making my bed. The majority of us probably were asked to do it by our parents, but not everyone keeps the habit after moving out on their own. But it turns out making your bed every morning comes with a lot of benefits (beyond making mom proud).
For starters, we’ll mention the science, with studies showing that doing regular household chores helps you stay sharp and sets the stage for a stronger mental state. The paper mentions “higher cognition” and “sharper memory” and I can certainly validate those benefits. After all, an action like this can become a meditation of sorts. A time when you organize your thoughts for the day.
Getting your bed made is also a great way to check something off of your to-do list with minimal effort. And since for most of us the day is just a succession of tasks to be done, completing one early can really help the mindset. Lastly, a made bed just looks better than a messy one, and whether you live alone or with someone who can judge you, it makes for a better impression.
“GOOD MORNING” STRETCH
UPROXX
Not everyone has time for a comprehensive stretching routine or to hit the gym for a full-on sweat session. But you don’t need an hour to feel better good physically at the beginning of the day. Doing just 10 to 15 minutes of stretching can be a game changer, but honestly if you don’t even have that, doing one stretch helps. Check out our essential static stretches in this story here. Even if you are doing just one stretch, if weather allows, try to get outside for that additional natural boost of Vitamin D.
For the morning, I like a stretch that also works as a body check and sun salutation. Start by standing straight up, bend down to touch your toes, then keeping your torso parallel to the ground swing your arms out like you are doing a chest stroke until they are just past your shoulders. Hold that. Bring your arms back down then stand up straight again. Bring your arms up in a circle from your sides until they are both straight up above your head and you are in a stick position. Then arc to the left and the right without moving your feet, so that you feel a stretch in both sides. Return back to the stick position.
The last touch is putting your head back and looking up at your hands like you are going to take off of the ground like Superman.
GETTING INTO THE MORNING GRIND
Unsplash
I’m a huge coffee lover, and it’s a big part of my daily routine, but I started to realize that my dependence on it to wake me up in the morning was not healthy. There is no study that concludes exactly when it’s “best” to drink coffee, but general guidance from well-respected experts like Dr. Andrew D. Huberman is to wait an hour after you wake up for your first cup. This is based off the time that natural cortisol levels are highest in our body (earlier in the day), since it is also a stimulant and basically trying to do the same job as caffeine.
In order to break the habit of reaching for a coffee mug as soon as you wake up, look to other ways to invigorate the body off rip. One of the best ways is getting sunlight early, because it tells your body to stop producing melatonin, the hormone responsible for sleepiness. Another great way is cold water, I like to kick off the mornings with a cold shower or plunge to get a rush of endorphins.
Speaking of water, make sure that water is the first thing that you drink. Most of us don’t get enough throughout the day, and front loading is a good way to get ahead. The added benefit being you aren’t trying to quench your thirst with coffee, as it actually does the reverse. By getting your jump start by other means, and hydrating before, you can really enjoy your morning roast.
MORNING MANTRAS
UPROXX
Starting a good morning habit is about doing things that are easily accomplished in a short amount of time and then expanding on them as you get more comfortable. Not everyone has time for 45 minutes of meditation, but you can accomplish a lot of good by starting your day with a little self-talk that includes purpose and gratitude.
The definition of mantra that applies in this case is a statement that is repeated often, for as long as you need. The objective is to find a mantra that you connect with personally and brings you contentment. Keep it realistic though, this is not a time to make wishes. For example, “I will win the lottery today” is not a good mantra. Here are a few that I like, but you can also create your own.
“I create my own path, and walk it with joy.”
“I am centered, and I am at peace.”
“I am motivated to become the best version of myself.”
Give these mantras a try, make up your own, make small tweaks and live the hell out of your one life!
After being found guilty of sexually assaulting Carroll, Trump continued to insult her on social media and claim he never even met her, which landed him back in court. This time around, the judge ordered the jury to hit Trump with a sizable figure to teach him a lesson, if that’s even possible.
In the meantime, The View co-hosts had a field day with Trump’s massive court bill by walking out to the theme song for The Apprentice, Trump’s old reality TV show. And for added measure, Whoopi Goldberg made sure to clue everyone in on what was happening.
#WhoopiGoldberg: “We just walked out to The O’Jays ‘For The Love of Money,’ which is the theme song of ‘The Apprentice,’ and that’s connected to the fact that you-know-who has to pay money, money, money, money… $83.3 million.” pic.twitter.com/NnkpT2mwZx
“We just walked out to The O’Jays’ ‘For the Love of Money,’ which is the theme song of ‘The Apprentice,’ Goldberg said via The Wrap. “And that’s connected to the fact that You-Know-Who has to pay money, money money, money! Money! And you know, if he had just shut his mouth, he’d have been dealing with $5 million dollars. But this is what happens when you got a hard head and a soft behind.”
Ana Navarro also made sure to throw some salt in the wound by bringing up Trump’s infamous Access Hollywood tape.
“And you know, he boasted about grabbing women by the hoo-ha,” Navarro said. “Well, the women grabbed back. And E. Jean Carroll grabbed him by the pocket, which is what hurts him the most.”

An actor’s job is to become one with the character that they’re playing. So, if they get busted for doing something illegal because it’s what the person they’re playing in a TV show or movie would do, should they get in trouble?
Yes, it turns out.
Paul Anderson (not that one), who plays Arthur Shelby Jr. in British crime drama Peaky Blinders, was arrested last month for “possessing class A crack cocaine, as well as class B amphetamines and two class C prescription substances,” according to the Guardian. He pleaded guilty and paid a £1,345 (or roughly $1,500) fine, despite a strong legal argument from his lawyer.
“You will recognize the defendant from a very intense part that he has played in a recent television program. He is often recognized and does his best to please fans of the show by slipping into character,” the lawyer said. “He was recognized that Boxing Day and tried to play up for these people. And because of the lifestyle he leads people often give him inducements.”
It’s not Anderson’s fault, you see. The only crime he committed is loving his fans too much. That’s like finding Oscar guilty of being a grouch or penalizing Big Bird for being too… bad example.
Godzilla Minus One has been a surprise and welcomed hit for Godzilla fans. It’s literally the first Godzilla movie to ever be nominated for an Oscar. People are here for it, which can definitely be felt by the critical reactions and box office.
Naturally, the big question is will Godzilla Minus One get a sequel that continues to bring the King of the Monsters back to his post-war Japanese roots. Given the film’s breakout success that’s already sparked a black-and-white remaster in theaters, you’d assume a sequel is in the works. However, Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki doesn’t have encouraging news on that front.
In a new interview, Yamazaki reveals that no one has talked to him about a sequel yet. Via Comic Book:
“No, no, there is no such talk at all. But I might be a little sad if someone else is chosen to direct the next Godzilla movie,” Yamazaki began. “When someone says, ‘This is the person who will direct the next Godzilla,’ I think, ‘Ah!’ And when someone says, ‘Please do it,’ I think, ‘Ah!’ (laughs) If I were to direct the next movie, I would like to do a sequel to this one, but since there have been two standalone Godzilla movies in a row, I think the next movie will probably have to include an enemy monster.”
As Yamasaki notes, the fact that no one has discussed a Godzilla Minus One sequel with him doesn’t mean that one isn’t happening. Another director could be taking reins, which he’d prefer not to happen, especially since he seems to already be cooking up an idea for a follow-up that would have Godzilla throw down in a monster brawl. We’re guessing Godzilla fans will have no complaints there.
Godzilla Minus One is currently playing in theaters.
If you eat fast food regularly you’re probably aware of how quick and easy it is to consume a whole bunch of calories in a short amount of time. A single meal at your typical fast food burger joint will be around or above 1,000 calories. That’s… a lot. Especially considering the FDA recommends that the average person consume only about 2,000 calories per day. And that number is kind of arbitrary, some people need less than that, some more — it depends on a lot of factors like height, weight, and level of activity (but that’s another conversation for another day).
Our point is one fast food meal at over 1,000 calories is probably too many calories to consume in a single meal, no matter who you are. Unless you’re this guy.
Of course, sometimes all you have time for is fast food. So what are you supposed to do if you’re out, hungry, pressed for time, and counting calories? We’re here to help you navigate that tricky spot by shouting out the best fast food menu options under 300 calories. Why 300 calories? Because that’s probably enough to satiate your hunger until you can eat something more sensible, and it’s an amount that you can burn away in just one 30-minute walk.
We’ll try to point you in the direction of the healthiest menu item possible but keep in mind — this is fast food. Where flavor reigns supreme and calories are secondary (at best). Let’s dive in!

I won’t lie to you. Are Chick-fil-A’s grilled nuggets as delicious as their fried counterparts? Absolutely not. Come on, we named Chick-fil-A’s Fried Nuggets the best chicken nuggets in fast food! Having said that though, the grilled nuggets can hold their own, and you can order a whole 12-count and it’ll only be 200 calories. That means yes, you can use 100 calories worth of your favorite dip to dip them in (or more, if you get an 8 count).
Sauceless, the nuggets have a great flavor. They’re tender, with a charred flavor accented by some light lemony citrus and a light dusting of black pepper. I like to pair them with the Polynesian sauce, which has a nice sweetness that complements the base flavor.
If you’re not down for the grilled, we’ll let you in on an open secret. An 8-count of fried nuggets is still only 250 calories. So if its more about keeping calories down than being “healthy” in a more general sense, you know what to do.
The Bottom Line:
A low-calorie chicken option that tastes great and gives you some room to use dipping sauce.
There are ways you can make a salad at Chipotle that’ll add up to 300 calories or less, but we guarantee you, if you go that route you’re going to be making some serious compromises in flavor and number of ingredients.
We want you to actually enjoy your meal, so we’re going with this Kids Meal Taco Combo. This is a two-taco combo with a classic build that takes inspiration from street tacos. Here is the build: flour tortilla, barbacoa, grilled fajitas, and tomatillo salsa.
Generally, I prefer Chipotle’s crunchy shell, but you’ll get more protein going the flour route, and the barbacoa coupled with the fajitas will provide a rich savory flavor with a hint of herbal notes and some sweetness on the backend, complemented by appetizing aromatics, all tied together with Chipotle’s spiciest salsa.
It’s not quite a double corn tortilla street taco, but it’s the closest you’re going to get at Chipotle, and it tastes damn good.
The Bottom Line:
A delicious two-taco meal that tastes great without giving you the sense that you’re missing something.
Flame Broiler — Chicken, Veggie, White Rice Mini Bowl
Flame Broiler/Instagram
Calories: 290
Thoughts and Tasting Notes:
If you’ve ready any of our healthy fast food articles in the past, you’ll know I ride hard for Flame Broiler. Unfortunately, my favorite dish, the Korean Spicy Chicken does not fall under our 300 calories threshold, but you can get pretty close by ordering a chicken and veggie mini bowl.
For this meal you’ll get chicken cooked in Magic Sauce (a simple teriyaki-style sauce) and FB’s Spicy Korean Sauce, carrots, cabbage, and broccoli, and white rice, all under 300 calories.
This meal is balanced enough that your appetite is guaranteed to be satisfied, you have protein, carbs, and plenty of veggies and the flavors are great. The sauce gives the chicken a nice gentle heat with some savory sweetness that pairs well with the charred flavor of the chicken.
The only downside of this meal is that if you want to keep it under 300 you probably won’t be able to add any additional sauce. If you’re okay with edging over that threshold, go for it, but we had to stick to our guns here.
If you’d like to save even more calories and up the fiber content, opt for brown rice over white.
Straight up, this isn’t our first choice. To keep it under 300 calories you’re going to have to be very sparing with the dressing and you can’t use all of the croutons. If you’re okay with that compromise, then great, but if you’re not… Jack in the Box probably isn’t the place for you.
The salad features grilled chicken strips, juicy grape tomatoes, shredded carrots, and shredded cheddar over a bed of mixed greens. It’s pretty standard salad fare, but it gets the job done.
The Bottom Line:
Jack in the Box isn’t the easiest place to eat healthy, but it’s possible.
If you’re dropping carbs, you’re going to love this dish. A bowl of Panda Express’ new Black Angus Pepper Steak served with super greens in place of rice will give you a full standard-sized bowl of food with just 210 calories.
The steak is freshly wok-seared with green beans, onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. A forkful is a mix of fresh vegetal, umami, and savory flavors seasoned with a mildly salty black pepper sauce. Round out this dish is Panda Express’ Super Greens, which consists of cabbage, kale, and broccoli. There is nothing special about these Super Greens, but if you love all of the above (which I do), you’re going to love these, and by the time you’re done with the meal you’ll be so satisfied that you might even drop rice for good.
The Bottom Line:
A rich savory beef dish served with a plentiful amount of delicious veggies.
Panera — Caesar Salad & Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup
Panera
Calories: 280
Thoughts and Tasting Notes:
This is an incredibly simple order, you get a small half portion of Panera’s Caesar Salad, which consists of grated parmesan, romaine lettuce, and black pepper sea salt croutons coupled with a half portion of Panera’s Chicken Noodle Soup. You’ve experienced both of these dishes at some point in your life, so don’t expect your mind to be blown or anything.
The soup is hearty and rich and you’re served a piece of baguette on the side for dipping (a delicious combination). The salad is just fine, and if you’re not down with this particular salad, you can order any of Panera’s other half-order salads, but you won’t be able to use dressing on any of them if you want it under 300 calories, so keep that in mind.
The Bottom Line:
Flavors that will be familiar to you whether you’ve been to Panera or not. This meal makes for a good snack on a cold day.
Ah, the infamous Spinach Feta and Egg Wrap, a dish you’ll find in many a “healthy fast food” article. And there is a reason for that: this dish is probably Starbucks’ best. Take that how you will!
The dish features egg whites mixed with spinach, feta cheese, and sun-dried tomato cream cheese inside a whole wheat wrap. The egg whites are pretty neutral in flavor, the spinach tastes like, well, spinach (a bit bitter, a bit dirty), and the feta adds a salty quality to the dish that pairs nicely with the tangy and sundried bright tomato cream cheese. Those final two ingredients do a lot of heavy lifting here.
The Bottom Line:
It’s not the sort of dish that is going to bring you intense feelings of joy, but it’s enough to fill you up and give you a boost of energy.
You’re going to have to keep the build here simple if you want it under 300. Go with Black forest ham, veggies of your choice (we say tomato, cucumber, and red onions) black pepper, and olive oil or a vinaigrette in place of heavy dressing.
Most of the calories here are coming from the bread but given the balance of carbs, protein, and veggies, a six-inch Subway sandwich is going to be a pretty substantial and filling meal, no matter how you build it.
The Bottom Line:
A simple sandwich that doesn’t feel like a compromise.
Normally I’d go with a regular Taco Bell Soft Taco over the Supreme build because it’s cheaper, but if all you’re going to eat is a single taco, definitely go the Supreme Route.
The Supreme will get you sour cream and tomato, which do a lot to make this taco taste a bit more complete. This taco is beefy and zesty with a light hint of tang and a lot of brightness from the tomato.
The Bottom Line:
Classic Taco Bell. Be warned though, you’re going to want more than one of these.
Wendy’s is known for its decadent burgers and delicious chicken sandwiches, not so much for healthy food options. So… you’ve got slim pickings here. If you want something under 300 calories that isn’t just an order of fries, you can order a baked potato or this small side of chili. We say go for the chili, especially if you love the core Wendy’s flavor.
The chili is made using leftover ground beef chunks from Wendy’s fresh burger patties, resulting in a rich savory flavor with a pronounced spicy character coupled with a lot of onion and garlic, green peppers, kidney beans, and celery. It doesn’t have the comforting magic of homemade chili but from a drive-thru? This is damn good.
The Bottom Line:
Savory, rich, and under 300 calories with that familiar Wendy’s flavor. What more can you ask for?
Disney+’sPercy Jacksonand the Olympians series has been a smash for the streamer after the premiere episode amassed 26.2M views in its first three weeks on the streamer, and most of those people were just tuning in to see Jason Mantzoukas bully a pre-teen.
The first season is about to wrap up with episode eight on Disney+. At the end of episode seven, Percy and Grover reunite with Annabeth and must prepare to meet with Ares, God of War.
The final episode will be titled “The Prophecy Comes True” and is set to premiere on Tuesday, January 30th. Like previous episodes, the finale will drop at 9 pm ET. Even though this marks the end of season one, the people behind the scenes are confident that another season will be ordered.
Showrunner and co-creator Jon Steinberg explains that even though a second season hasn’t “been ordered yet,” he hopes that the reaction from the fans will help gain momentum for a second season. “I think everybody’s really focused on making sure that people have the reaction to the show that we’re hoping they will,” Steinberg told TVLine. “There are some people that spend their day thinking about what next season would look like, so hopefully, that work will become a little more official sooner than later.”
You can stream episodes one through 7 on Disney+ now.
