Good news for Reacher fans surfaced last week. They might have never wondered how their favorite human wall would fare while going up against a biker gang while wearing a suit, but the answer was nonetheless a satisfying one. Granted, this was not as satisfying an outcome as Paula Abdul once might have hoped for while getting horny for a singing Alan Ritchson, but everything has worked out for the best, and viewers were instantly ready for more of the Special Investigators.

When does Season 2, Episode 6 arrive?

“New York’s Finest” will surface on Friday, January 5. Yes, we recently learned that the honorable hobo cleans up well, but there’s no time for him to rest. Next, expect Reacher and the gang (Neagley, Dixon, and O’Donnell, all of whom are also pulling their weight in the muscle department) to continue digging into who is methodically tossing team members out of helicopters. They end up pursuing a suspected double-crosser, and here’s the rest of the episode’s post-funeral synopsis:

Back in the city, Russo has a difficult conversation with Marsh and makes a discovery about his boss. Meanwhile, Neagley locates Marlo, who reveals the truth about New Age’s plan and Tony Swan. With Russo’s help, Reacher and the team try to lure Langston into a trap, but the plan backfires with tragic consequences.

There’s perhaps too many complicated details in that synopsis, but as the Amazon show’s devotes know, “Details matter!”

Speaking in 2020, president of programming Casey Bloys told Deadline about HBO‘s unique arraignment with Larry David for new seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm. “The deal with Larry is that he tells us when he is ready to go. If he tells us he wants to do more, we’ll do more,” he said.

David is ready to go one last time.

Curb Your Enthusiasm, one of TV’s crankiest and funniest comedies of all-time, is wrapping up after the show’s upcoming season, its 12th.

“As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be — the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character,” David said in a tongue-in-cheek statement about the final season. “And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”

Plot

The official logline for the season reads: “Starring Larry David as an over-the-top version of himself, Curb Your Enthusiasm offers a tongue-in-cheek depiction of the writer/producer/comedian’s fictionalized life. The comedy series continues to prove how seemingly trivial details of one’s day-to-day life can precipitate a catastrophic chain of events.” So don’t worry that Curb turned into a home renovation reality series between seasons 11 and 12 (you never know with the Warner Bros. Discovery overlords…)

Cast

Besides David, returning cast members include Cheryl Hines (hopefully without a cameo from her nutball husband) and Jeff Garlin, who was fired from The Goldbergs for allegedly problematic behavior, as well as Susie Essman, J.B. Smoove, and Ted Danson. Richard Lewis, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, confirmed he’ll be back. Vince Vaughn and season 11 standout Tracey Ullman, too. Maybe another Seinfeld reunion?

Release Date

Curb Your Enthusiasm season 12 premieres on February 4. It will consist of 10 episodes, releasing weekly on Sundays at 10 p.m. EST.

The Weeknd‘s new movie — starring Jenna Ortega, Barry Keoghan, and himself — will be released later this year, according to a report from HotNewHipHop. An update on the movie’s IMDB page shows that The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, will also be a co-writer, along with director Trey Edward Shults and Reza Fahim.

Not a whole lot is known about the upcoming movie, like a plot or even a title, but the film marks Shults’ first since 2019’s Waves.

The movie was first announced last year via Deadline, with Shults and Ortega tapped as executive producers.

This will mark The Weeknd’s first starring role as a character, after briefly playing a fictional version of himself in 2019’s Uncut Gems. Last year, he also starred as a club owner and cult leader named Tedros in HBO’s controversial series, The Idol.

While The Weeknd’s acting has left fans divided, viewers can likely look forward to seeing him in more projects. In an interview with W Magazine, he shared that his upcoming album will likely be his last under the stage name.

“I’m going through a cathartic path right now,” he said. “It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close the Weeknd chapter. I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill the Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn.”

Bree Runway is continuing to live her best life, after discovering that one of her favorite artists is a fan of her song, “That Girl.” Over the weekend, Christina Aguilera incorporated the track into her performance of “Glam” at her Vegas residency. Runway excitedly shared a video of the moment to social media.

“THAT GIRLLLL!!!!! IN YOUR SET?!?! get me on a flight to vegas NOWWWWW!!!!!!” Runway captioned. “I almost FELL when I heard my voice omg.”

“CHRISTINA AGUILERA GIRLLLL HUHHH???!!” she initially wrote, before adding, “LIKEEE?!?! That’s realllly one of my icons !!!”

Things got even crazier to kick off the year, when Aguilera herself hopped on and responded to a Rolling Stone tweet about Runway’s series of posts. “Come to Vegas anytime,” the pop star shared, tagging Runway with a kiss emoji.

“OHHHHH MY GOODNESS??? What is GOING ONNNNNNNNNN,” Runway continued. She then replied back to Aguilera, “SAY NO MORE MY GOOD SISTA,” with an equally-sweet crying emoji and a heart.

Runway also revealed that she used to help choreograph Aguilera’s “Dirrty” song for the band she was in during high school, making it feel like a truly “iconic” moment.

As many fans pointed out, this is just the first sign that 2024 will be a wonderful year for Runway.

Over the past few years, athletic apparel companies have increasingly looked outside of the world of sports for endorser partnerships. Where once Nike blew its entire annual basketball sneaker budget to sign Michael Jordan, companies like Adidas, Champion, Nike, Puma, and Reebok have looked to entertainers like Pharrell, Saweetie, Travis Scott, Rihanna, and Cardi B to help move merch to fans who follow their faves’ moves like coaches watching game tape.

The latest rapper to secure a deal with Nike appears to be Megan Thee Stallion, who teased her upcoming collection with the Swoosh via her performance at New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Wearing a purple jumpsuit and matching sneakers, the Nike influence was subtle — aside from a conspicuously placed logo on the front — but Meg boosted the hype by posting some behind-the-scenes photos and videos on her Instagram. The caption tells fans to “stay tuned for the drop,” while a detailed closeup of her soles shows a custom “Hottie” brandmark. Unlike some rapper partnerships, though, this one makes perfect sense; Meg has long centered her workout routines on social media, making her a good fit for a sportswear partnership.

Meg joins two of hip-hop’s biggest names in her collaboration with NIke: Drake and Travis Scott, who both have collections with the sneaker giant. While Drake’s Nocta brand focuses on high-end sportwear, Travis’ sneaker collabs hae been among the most coveted releases in recent years. According to Kicks Finder, Meg’s collection will include the bodysuit, a jacket, sports bras, shorts, and a tee shirt… although the sneakers are curiously absent from the report. This could mean they were a one-off for Thee Stallion herself (like a Player Edition basketball shoe) or that Nike has other plans for a Megan Thee Stallion sneaker.

With Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire now available for streaming on Netflix, Zack Snyder fans are chomping at the bit for the next installment in the director’s new sci-fi epic: Part Two: The Scargiver. Fortunately, the release date isn’t too long of a wait.

The Scargiver will start streaming on April 19, 2024, and Netflix already pumped up fans by dropping a trailer on Christmas morning. The film will reportedly wrap up the story that began in A Child of Fire, but Snyder has already hinted that the burgeoning sci-fi series could expand with spinoff series, films, or possibly both.

REBEL MOON – PART TWO: THE SCARGIVER continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld. Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver arrives April 19, 2024 on Netflix. Part One: A Child of Fire is now available for streaming.

Olivia Rodrigo recently appeared in a roundtable of fellow songwriters for The Hollywood Reporter, which included Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Jon Batiste, Cynthia Erivo, and Julia Michaels. During their group discussion, they were asked to recall the first album or song that they bought. Rodrigo praised another musician who inspired her a ton — especially very early on.

She goes on to describe the feeling of discovering Lorde through her album Pure Heroine and her hit song “Royals,” which is now over ten years old.

“I remember hearing that song on the radio at the time,” Rodrigo shared. “It was one of those pinch me moments where you always remember, a snapshot memory, like, ‘Oh my God, what is this?!’ Changes the trajectory of your life.”

“I remember listening to it as I first started writing songs and just being blown away by her lyrics that are just about being a teenager living in the suburbs,” she added. “I just remember never hearing my life be put into a song like that where it just made being young and doing these seemingly unimportant things feel so sacred.”

As for some of the other roundtable answers, Erivo listed Brandy’s Never Say Never, Dua Lipa was tied between Alicia Keys’ Songs In A Minor and Nelly Furtado’s Whoa Nelly, and Eilish mentioned Awolnation’s “Sail.”

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign‘s collaborative album Vultures may take a little longer to arrive. Originally announced last year, Vultures has seen numerous delays. Its most recent release date was slated for January 12, but it looks like listeners are going to have to wait a bit longer.

Yesterday, West’s frequent collaborator Malik Yusef shared a photo of Ty, featuring the singer recording vocals for the album, per HipHopDX.

A fan commented on the post, asking, “what song is he recording for?” Yusef replied, “all of em.”

The same fan asked if Ty is “redoing verses or making new ones?” Yusef answered: “both.”

Earlier that day, Forbes reported that “a representative for West explained that the album is not coming out on that date, and, for the moment, doesn’t have a release date.”

Yusef also weighed in on this, when a fan asked “Is that Forbes article legit?” The former GOOD Music rapper simply replied, “Naw.”

Though it’s not clear which parts of the article to which Malik was referring. At the time of writing, neither West nor Ty have issued a direct update on Vultures.

Like all Zack Snyder movies, Rebel Moon has proved to be a decisive release from the director. Despite overwhelmingly negative reviews, the film brought in significant views for Netflix during its holiday weekend debut.

However, like all Snyder movies, there is a director’s cut on the way. In fact, an extended version of Rebel Moon was baked in from the start. Snyder revealed back in August 2023 that Netflix gave him the freedom to craft extended cuts for both Rebel Moon installments, so naturally, fans are curious how those versions will improve on the original films.

Unfortunately, a release date for the Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire director’s cut has not been announced. There were uncorroborated reports of the extended version arriving before the release of Part Two: The Scargiver in April, but nothing has been confirmed as of this writing.

Paul Tassi at Forbes speculates that release strategy will no longer be the case because it might encourage fans to skip the original version of The Scargiver and wait for the director’s cut. (Although, that could happen anyway given A Child of Fire’s tepid reviews.)

As for what to expect from the A Child of Fire director’s cut, here’s what Snyder told Tudum:

I think it’s a legitimate extended universe version. You really get to see a lot. It’s just more painted-in all the way. The director’s [cut] is a settle-in deep dive, which I have notoriously done throughout my career. I don’t know how I got into this director’s cut thing, but what I will say about it is that, for me, the director’s cuts have always been something I had to fight for in the past and nobody wanted it. It was this bastard child that I was always trying to put together because they felt like there was a deeper version.

“It’s really a revelation because it gives that second kick at the can for big fans, like a real discovery that they would not [otherwise] get,” Snyder said. “I’m really excited about it!”

Among my many faults as a human being is the fact that I can’t remember my first celebrity crush. But I’m guessing it was either Phoebe Cates in Gremlins or the lady gremlin from Gremlins 2: The New Batch. One of those is probably accurate. Meanwhile, Ryan Gosling not only remembers his first celebrity crush, proving that he is more talented, more handsome, and has a better memory than me, he remembers the exact moment when he felt ~things~ for the first time. It involves the Muppets.

The Barbie star was asked by W magazine to name his first cinematic crush. “I saw Raquel Welch on The Muppet Show when I was young,” he replied. “She was dressed like a cavewoman. She was dancing with a big puppet spider, and I liked it. I liked it more than anything I’d ever liked before.” Some people had the One Million Years B.C. poster; others rewatched The Muppet Show on VHS.

When Welch passed away last year, she received a tribute post from the Muppets’ Facebook account. It reads, “We’ll never forget our remarkable friend Raquel Welch, one of our favorite guests on The Muppet Show.
