Less than three weeks after returning to the court from a 5-game suspension for putting Rudy Gobert in a chokehold, Draymond Green was ejected again last week, this time for swinging his arm wildly and hitting Jusuf Nurkic in the face while, in his words, trying to sell a foul call.

It was the latest instance of Green crossing the line on the court, with a seemingly increased frequency in those kinds of acts over the last couple of years, headlined with his practice punch of Jordan Poole and stomping Domantas Sabonis in the chest in last year’s playoffs. After the 5-game suspension failed to have the intended effect, the league met with the Warriors, Green, and Green’s representatives to figure out what a long-term solution could be. They landed on an indefinite suspension, with Green needing to go to counseling to work on his impulse control and anger management before he could return to the court.

While there’s no official timetable, Shams Charania offered some insight into the minimum of how long Green will be out, noting he’s expected to miss at least three weeks (which would be 12 games) and has started counseling.

The question for the league is what will they need to see from Green to prove he’s ready to return to the floor. This isn’t an issue that can be proven as resolved, so it comes down to what Green says and, one would think, an understanding that any further antics would lead to yet another significant suspension. In the meantime, the Warriors will need to navigate an extended period without their longtime defensive anchor, as they try to claw their way back into playoff contention in the West after a rough start to the season.

Taylor Swift has earned many accolades throughout her illustrious career, but her home state of Pennsylvania has given her quite a tremendous honor. Last week, on the “Karma” hitmaker’s birthday (December 13), Pennsylvania’s House Of Representatives declared the year 2023 as Pennsylvania’s “Taylor Swift era.”

“Through talent, hard work and determination, Ms. Swift has transcended the role of pop star, becoming a veritable cultural and economic force,” reads the bill.

House Resolution 282 was adopted in a 103-100 vote, officially marking the past year as the era of Taylor Swift. The bill was sponsored by Rep. Danielle Friel Otten, and noted her impact on the overall economy. The bill also cites her donations to various charities, as well as the whole Ticketmaster debacle, and her encouragement of her fans to register to vote.

“Ms. Swift has been lauded for her generosity to her staff, her fans, and philanthropic and charitable causes, particularly hunger relief organizations, including Philabundance and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank,” reads the bill.

Early next year, Swift will resume her critically acclaimed Eras Tour, which will include more stops in North America, as well as Europe, and Asia. Swifties can also rent a concert film version of the Eras Tour via Prime Video.

Rick and Morty season seven kicked off with new voices for the title characters, and ended with… well, we won’t ruin the season finale. You can watch the episode on Adult Swim’s website, but safe to say, the animated series is returning for another season — and many more after it.

While season eight doesn’t have a premiere date yet (expect late 2024 at the earliest), showrunner Scott Marder teased the show’s 10-season plan.

“I can tell you we’re in the middle of writing season nine,” he told Comic Book. “I can tell you that we’ve already got a couple ideas for Season 10 that are already kind of pinned. There is a full plan for a full 10 season saga. So if people are on board with what we’ve been doing the past couple seasons, we’re intending to give them more of that. But there are certainly arcs and cool things and big surprises in store.”

After co-creator Justin Roiland was fired from the Adult Swim series, Rick and Morty are now voiced by Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden. “It’s been super surreal waking up every day,” Belden said about getting the gig. “For the first month, I genuinely kept asking my girlfriend if that had really happened, if I was indeed the new Morty. So, to keep having that realization that, ‘Yes, this is real, you are playing a character you’ve watched and loved for years and been a huge fan of,’ is indescribable, and brings such joy.”

Adult Swim will also release Rick and Morty: The Anime next year.

Jimmy Kimmel is used to disgraced politicians threatening to sue him. First, it was Donald Trump (or more specifically, Trump Media and Technology Group). Now, it’s former New York Rep. George Santos, who is not amused by the Jimmy Kimmel Live host’s Cameo video requests.

“We are writing to congratulate you — your ‘dream’ of being sued by Mr. Santos may indeed come true,” Santos’ lawyer Andrew Mancilla wrote to Kimmel, according to the New York Post. “While your comedic efforts are much appreciated, you should have obtained Mr. Santos’ consent, as he is not camera shy, nor is he blind to the comedic irony of suing you for fraud.”

On a recent episode of his late-night show, Kimmel revealed that he sent a “number of different ridiculous requests” to Santos, who was expelled from Congress for his many misdeeds. In one video, Kimmel asked Santos to congratulate his mom Brenda for cloning a dog. “Hey Brenda, I wanted to congratulate you on successfully cloning your beloved schnauzer, Adolf. I know it was a lot of trials and tribulations, but you finally did it… Now you get to enjoy Adolf and be happy, so give him a belly rub for me. Mwah.”

In the cease and desist letter, Santos’ lawyer told Kimmel and ABC that the fabulist ex-politician might get the last laugh in court over Kimmel’s “prank.”

“Such ‘pranks’ are frequently known by a different name in the legal community: fraud,” Mancilla charged. He called Kimmel a “sneaky little trickster” who may have earned “some hearty laughs” and boosted ratings, but claimed his actions “constitute fraudulent inducement, breach of contract and unjust enrichment as well as violations of New York State’s Civil Rights Law.

No wonder Santos posed for a photo with Lauren Boebert. They both feel personally (ahem) triggered by Jimmy Kimmel.

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign were supposed to have the headlining music release of last week with Vultures. Perhaps unsurprisingly to anybody who knows about West’s history of not meeting deadlines, though, the album did not end up getting released on time and has yet to be unveiled. Now, it appears West and Ty have another new release date lined up.

The album’s page on Apple Music currently lists a release date of December 31. Furthermore, a West rep reportedly confirmed that release date, along with another “rave” listening event in Saudi Arabia.

Of course, it wouldn’t hurt to take an announced release date for a West project with a grain of salt, since deadlines have historically been more like suggestions than something he feels obligated to honor.

As for why the project was delayed, it could be a matter of it’s just not finished yet, or there are still some elements of it to work out. For example, shortly before its expected release last Friday (minutes before, in fact), West took to social media to reach out to Nicki Minaj, in an effort to get her to approve her verse on “New Body” for the album, a request she ultimately denied.

Drake has been very successful for long time, and thus, he’s got a few bucks laying around; His net worth has been estimated at around $250 million, and while estimates like these can often be unreliable, that’s doesn’t feel like a surprising number. The point is that Drake probably doesn’t need anybody gifting him more money, but one fan did just that… but not that much.

Last night (December 17), Drake hosted a Kick.com livestream, and at one point during the broadcast, somebody made a donation… of 20 cents. Drake was talking about something unrelated, then after taking a look at his screen, he shifted, saying, “Thank you for the 20-cent tip, [donator’s username], appreciate that. That’ll go to a good cause.”

Spotify reportedly pays about 0.3 cents per stream, so in essence, the viewer donated what Drake would earn from 67 streams, so about three full-album plays.

Elsewhere during the show, Drake’s co-host asked about his New Year’s resolution, and Drake said, “Travel more for the purpose of enjoyment.” The co-host implored Drake to visit Europe and he replied with a bit of breaking news: “I will. I think I’m going to go on tour in Europe, but again, that’s for work.” He also rattled off some vacation destinations on his radar: “I’ve never been to so many places. I’ve never been to Italy, never been to Tokyo, never been to Albania.”

The Golden State Warriors have been heavily reliant on Stephen Curry this year to get wins, as the team has struggled to produce enough offense around their superstar guard.

Curry entered Sunday’s game against the Blazers averaging 29.0 points per game, making five 3-pointers per night, with the next highest scorer on the team being Klay Thompson at 16.4. However, Sunday was a rare off night for Curry, as he went just 2-of-12 from the field for seven points in his worst scoring night of the season against the Blazers. The good news was he got picked up by his teammates as Thompson scored 28, Andrew Wiggins had 25 off the bench, and youngsters Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga each reached double figures while making some key plays late on both ends to preserve a 118-114 win in Portland.

That said, Sunday night was a historic one as neither of Curry’s two made field goals came from three (he was 0-of-8 from deep), meaning his NBA record streak of 268 consecutive games with a made three-pointer came to an end. The streak began on December 1, 2018 and has spanned six seasons of play, smashing the previous record of 157 which belonged to…Stephen Curry. You would likely not have tabbed this year’s Blazers to be the team to snap that streak, particularly in a game where Curry played 31 minutes, but even the best shooter in history can have a game where he just doesn’t have it — it just happens once every six years.

The future Hall of Famer will look to start a new streak on Tuesday night when the Celtics visit the Bay.

For weeks, NFL fans and media members have been arguing over who has the best case for the MVP award, with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy at the center of much of the debate.

Purdy is putting together a tremendous season for the league’s best team, but many point to the weapons around him and the scheme he’s in as a benefit he has few other quarterbacks are provided with. As a result, many have argued in favor of Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson, and Jalen Hurts (prior to last week), but as the Niners keep winning and other top MVP candidates have poor outings in key moments, it’s looking increasingly likely that Purdy is the frontrunner.

On Sunday, Purdy’s odds only improved (he moved to -125 at some books) as he threw for four touchdowns in a win over the Cardinals, while Prescott had a disastrous afternoon in Buffalo. However, in that Niners win, Christian McCaffrey put the ball in the end zone three times, bringing his total to 20 touchdowns this season (13 rushing, 7 receiving) and raised his scrimmage yards to 1,801 for the year. As such, with there not being a clearly dominant quarterback this season, there are some wondering if there’s an argument for the first non-QB MVP since Adrian Peterson won it more than a decade ago in 2012.

Among those who believe McCaffrey should be MVP is Brock Purdy, who was asked to make the case for his teammate after their win in Arizona, and noted that McCaffrey “really does everything” before shrugging off his own MVP candidacy.

This is absolutely what Purdy should be doing, and the truth is, it probably will only help his cause with some voters who will appreciate the show of leadership here. That said, if there were ever going to be a year where a non-QB won the award, this would be it, and you’d be hard-pressed to find someone with a better case than McCaffrey, even if the current odds-on favorite shares the backfield with him.

“At The Party” rapper Kid Cudi loves to announce his grandiose plans for the following years with fans online. While many things on his goal board for 2023 came true. Other pursuits, such as his Moon Man’s Landing Festival and Insano album, were delayed. Cudi is notorious for considering things (i.e., his interest in stand-up comedy), but it seems his next set of creative ideas is on track for 2024.

According to a series of posts shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) page, next year, the entertainer plans on releasing a memoir with a global promotional book tour to support it in addition to his previous musical obligations. “My memoir is called CUDI By Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi. My hope is to drop it next year around September. Going through my life and the journey it has, so far, bringing me so much peace,” wrote the rapper.

“I know this book will inspire you to live your life to the fullest every chance you get, reach for your dreams, and work hard to bring them to reality and keep God close. Because through all the ups and downs, He’s the one that’s never left you alone. My hope is that after you read this, you’ll have the confidence to bet on yourself and strive to live life as a better human on this planet and spread love,” he continued.

Cudi has not released an official date, but he’s sure about the September 2024 time frame based on his interaction with a curious fan.

Cudi made it clear that he wants to fully embrace the published work once it is released with a full-on book tour. “I’ll be doing a little tour to bookstores around the globe doing signings. So, be on the lookout,” urged the songwriter.

This year was huge for memoirs; ask Britney Spears and Jada Pinkett Smith. Cher also hinted at starting her memoir soon.

Based on rumors floating around online, there will be one less plate to set at “Baticano” rapper Bad Bunny’s house this holiday season. According to People, reggaeton’s biggest star could be reentering the dating pool in the new year. After nearly a year of dating, the Grammy Award-winning musician and his model girlfriend Kendall Jenner have reportedly split.

Although the outlet didn’t list the reason for the supposed separation, it is confident that the once ‘it couple’ in entertainment is no more. The duo supposedly began their love affair in February, but as much as they tried to keep their romance away from the public, they couldn’t help but be spotted together on numerous occasions. In April, Jenner supported her beaux during his record-setting headlining Coachella set as she was spotted dancing along in the crowd.

They took things up a notch when Bad Bunny subtly hinted at their relationship in his video for the single “Un Preview.” Then the pair put their love on full display, starring in fashion house Gucci’s Valigeria campaign. Neither have released a statement in response to the reports, but that should serve as no surprise given their coupling started under tight wraps.

With Bad Bunny hitting the road in 2024 for his sold-out Most Wanted Tour, fans are guessing he will address the breakup on stage.
