After over a year of delays, the racketeering trial against Young Thug and YSL began yesterday with opening statements. Fulton County Chief Deputy District Attorney Adriane Love reiterated the state’s assertion that the rapper was the leader of a violent criminal gang that “created a crater in the middle of Fulton County’s Cleveland Avenue community that sucked in the youth, the innocence and even the lives of some of its youngest members.”

For his alleged role in the creation and leadership of said gang, Young Thug could end up facing up to 120 years in prison if convicted. Initially only charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act and participation in criminal street gang activity, Thug was also charged with possession of an illegal machine gun and possession of a firearm by a felon after a raid of his home.

Due to the way Georgia’s state RICO law is structured, the state does not actually have to prove that Thug ordered or even knew about criminal activities carried out by the gang, only that he held a leadership position within it. To that end, the Fulton County DA’s office has decided that Thug’s lyrics are all the evidence they need — a decision that has proven controversial and been characterized as racist by a number of observers.

After spending Monday evening getting dragged on social media following reports that Looney Tunes will be removed from Max at the end of the year, Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that the classic cartoon is not leaving the platform. According to the studio, a recent press release accidentally included Looney Tunes on a list of titles that won’t be available on the streaming service in January. Once media outlets noticed the crown jewel of Warner Bros. Animation would no longer be available on Warner Bros. streaming service, the headlines and furious social media posts started flying.

However, WBD is claiming that this was all a mistake.

“Looney Tunes was included in error as a title leaving the platform,” Warner Bros. Discovery said in a statement to Deadline. “This is not the case and the show will continue streaming on Max.”

Was this really an oversight, though? Warner Bros. has already backtracked once this month after facing backlash over another Looney Tunes property: The Coyote vs. Acme movie starring John Cena. Warner Bros. had attempted to shelve the film for a tax write-off, but instead, the studio was meant with swift resistance. Warner Bros. quickly backtracked and announced that Coyote vs. Acme would be shopped to other streamers.

That being said, mistakes on streaming lists do happen, so who knows what really went down with this latest Looney Tunes fiasco.

In March, Metalheads unabashedly lost their sh*t when Goldenvoice rolled out Power Trip Festival 2023. The large-scale US-based live event focused solely on rock and metal music immediately boosted ticket sales. However, the organizer isn’t the only entity providing space for fans of the genres to get their programming fix. Next year, droves will descend on Clisson, France, for 2024 HellFest Open Air.

Today (November 28), organizers of the multiday event have unveiled the full lineup for 2024 HellFest Open Air, and they were sure to cover all their bases. Headliners for the festival include Avenged Sevenfold and Megadeth on June 27, 2024. Machine Head and Tom Morello will do the honors on June 28, 2024. On June 29, 2024, Metallica and Mass Hysteria will end the festivities. Closing day, June 30, 2024, will end with Foo Fighters, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Royal Blood.

In total, 2024 HellFest Open Air will feature over 178 bands amongst its six stages. Other notable acts on the lineup include Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Steel Panther, Suicidal Tendencies, Saxon, Enter Shikari, Body Count, The Offspring, Babymetal, and Nova Twins.

The 2024 HellFest Open Air is set to take place between June 27-30, 2024 in Clisson, France. Although all 4-day passes are sold out on the festival’s website, single-day admission will open at the top of 2024. Find more information here.

Jennifer Lawrence addressed the rumors that she’s gotten plastic surgery during a chat for Interview with Kylie Jenner, who she dubbed “one of the most successful business women who’s ever lived.” The No Hard Feelings actress asked Ms. Wonka about bringing “contouring lips into the mainstream” and whether that was something she learned by herself or from a makeup artist. “I think it started because I just wanted big, fat, juicy lips, and I just wanted that illusion that I had fuller lips. But no one taught me. When I started doing that, I wasn’t really working with makeup artists and stuff,” Jenner replied.

Lawrence called it “incredible what makeup can do because I work with Hung [Vanngo], who overlines the lip, and I call him a plastic surgeon, because everybody in the last few months since I’ve been working with him is convinced that I had eye surgery.” When Jenner expressed disbelief about the rumors, she added, “I didn’t have eye surgery. I’m doing makeup.”

Jenner: “Oh my god. You know, you’ve been looking amazing. Have you always worked with him?”

Lawrence: “Well, apparently I’ve had full plastic surgery.” [Laughs]

Jenner: “No, I’ve been seeing the pictures. It doesn’t look like that.”

Lawrence: “Oh, thank you.”

Lawrence later added, “I started at 19, so I get the before and after pictures from when I’m 19 to 30 and I’m like, ‘I grew up. I lost baby weight in my face, and my face changed because I’m aging.’ Everybody thought I had a nose job, and I’m like, ‘I’ve had the exact same nose. My cheeks got smaller. Thank you for bringing it up.’”

Is there plastic surgery to make myself look younger? Because after realizing Winter’s Bone came out 13 years ago, I feel ancient.

Next year marks the 40th anniversary of Rob Reiner’s This Is Spinal Tap, and it seems it just might be time for fans to get a follow-up film. During a new appearance on the RHLSTP With Richard Herring podcast (as Billboard notes), the director confirmed that filming for it will begin in February 2024.

Not only that, but the original actors — Christopher Guest (Nigel Tufnel), Michael McKean (David St. Hubbins), and Harry Shearer (Derek Smalls) — will all be returning as their characters. “We’re making a sequel,” Reiner revealed. “Everybody’s back.”

As for some of the cameos that will be in the forthcoming sequel, Reiner pointed out that Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Garth Brooks will be a part of it, along with a “few other surprises.”

He had also been discussing Spinal Tap II, including during an interview with Deadline last year.

“I can tell you hardly a day goes by without someone saying, ‘Why don’t you do another one?’” Reiner shared. “For so many years, we said, ‘Nah.’ It wasn’t until we came up with the right idea how to do this. You don’t want to just do it, to do it. You want to honor the first one and push it a little further with the story.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene once reported comedian Jimmy Kimmel to the U.S. Capitol Police for making a slap joke about her. Now she’s demanding to be on his show. “Hey @jimmykimmel since most of your show content is your nonstop lies about me, why don’t you have me on your show?” the far-right Georgia representative wrote on X last week after the Jimmy Kimmel Live host mocked her new book, MTG. “I’ll bring you a copy of my book and we can chat about what needs to happen to SAVE AMERICA!”

It does not sound like Kimmel will be accepting the offer.

“I guess I’m a Hollywood libtard that’s part of the celebrity pedophile Satan club,” he said in his monologue during Monday’s episode. “Until she has a book to promote, then ‘I’d love to swing by!’” After reminding viewers about the calling-the-police-over-a-joke incident, he continued, “Though I have to admit, part of me wants to invite her here so I can let her wait for an hour down in the green room doing power squats — and then bump her. Even just to screw with Matt Damon it would be fun. But I also don’t want rabies so…”

But why would Taylor Greene want to go on Kimmel’s show in the first place? Probably because MTG is ranked #11,646 among all books on Amazon. “Marjorie Taylor Greene’s book is such a bomb,” Kimmel joked, “I might have to report it to the Capitol Police.”

Over Thanksgiving weekend, Metro Boomin took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal he wants a bigger presence on YouTube. This sparked a conversation that unveiled his perspective on something he thinks is “ruining” music.

On November 25, the producer (who’s behind hits like Post Malone’s “Congratulations” and The Weeknd’s “Heartless”) tweeted, “About to start uploading regularly to my YouTube again like back in the days.. what type of videos do you guys want? (I don’t like the word content, it’s annoying now).”

In response, Nav shared the tweet and replied, “finally a musician who ain’t trying to be mysterious and sh*t.” Metro replied, “The fake mysterious sh*t with artists is ruining the game!! Everybody too cool.”

As for Metro’s original question about the kinds of videos he should make, he got some good answers. Responses included, “Would love a breakdown of some of your most iconic beats + stories of how the songs came around in the first place,” “Videos on beats & producing (tutorials & creating beats for videos & explaining the process),” “Post Randomly rare vids of u and musicians. Mainly freestyles or just havin fun,” and, “I want a whole video series where you talk about sound choice and design. You’ve always had some of the most curated sounds out there.”

For the most part, fax machines are an outdated technology in 2023. There are still some people out there who rely on them today, though, including doctors, lawyers… and Dolly Parton.

In a recent interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Parton explained her stance on modern technology, saying, “I’m a low-tech girl in a high-tech world, but I surround myself with all these people that are into the high-tech world. But I don’t want to talk to everybody that wants to talk to me. I don’t text ’cause I don’t want to have to answer. If somebody calls me, I’ll answer if I want to talk to them, or I’ll call them back when I can. Otherwise, I got too much to think about than to clutter my mind up with everything else. Parton’s tech stance echoes what Miley Cyrus said about her in a 2022 interview with Seth Meyers. Chatting about her and Parton’s 2022 T-Mobile Super Bowl commercial, Cyrus said, “It was amazing because she was doing it for the phones, yet every time I coordinate and communicate with Dolly, it’s still through fax. So I don’t know what she’s talking about. She’s rarely on the phone.” She added, “We do use the phone, but she does a fax and then someone scans the fax, and then they put it into a text message, and then that gets sent to me.”

Unfortunately, the rocker was forced to drop out of the event due to health complications. The show bounced back by securing Judas Priest as the headlining act. However, fans still yearned for the Prince of Darkness to grace a stage near them. So, will Ozzy Osbourne ever perform live again?

According to the musician’s sit down with Rolling Stone UK for its December/January 2024 issue, as much as he wants to based on medical advisement, it doesn’t look like it.

“I’m taking it one day at a time, and if I can perform again, I will. But it’s been like saying farewell to the best relationship of my life. At the start of my illness, when I stopped touring, I was really pissed off with myself, the doctors, and the world. But as time has gone on, I’ve just gone, ‘Well, maybe I’ve just got to accept that fact,’” said Osbourne.

He later added, “That’s one of the things I’ve been the most fucking pissed off at. I never got the chance to say goodbye or thank you… If I can’t continue doing shows on a regular basis, I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say, ‘Hi guys, thanks so much for my life.’ That’s what I’m working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I’ll die a happy man.”
