Dad found out his son bullied a kid at school and came up with a brilliant teaching moment

What do you do when you find out your kid bullied someone? For many parents, the first step is forcing an apology. While this response is of course warranted, is it really effective? Some might argue that there are more constructive ways of handling the situation that teach a kid not only what they did wrong, but how to make things right again.

Single dad Patrick Forseth recently shared how he made a truly teachable moment out of his son, Lincoln, getting into trouble for bullying. Rather than forcing an apology, Forseth made sure his son was actively part of a solution.

The thought process behind his decision, which he explained in a now-viral TikTok video, is both simple and somewhat racial compared to how many parents have been encouraged to handle similar situations.

“I got an email a few days ago from my 9-year-old son’s teacher that he had done a ‘prank’ to a fellow classmate and it ended up embarrassing the classmate and hurt his feelings,” the video begins.

At this point, Forseth doesn’t split hairs. “I don’t care who you are, that’s bullying,” he said. “If you do something to somebody that you know has the potential end result of them being embarrassed in front of a class or hurt—you’re bullying.”

So, Forseth and Lincoln sat down for a long talk (a talk, not a lecture) about appropriate punishment and how it would have felt to be on the receiving end of such a prank.

From there, Forseth told his son that he would decide how to make things right, making it a masterclass in taking true accountability.

“I demanded nothing out of him. I demanded no apology, I demanded no apology to the teacher,” he continued, adding, “I told him that we have the opportunity to go back and make things right. We can’t take things back, but we can try to correct things and look for forgiveness.”

So what did Lincoln do? He went back to his school and actually talked to the other boy he pranked. After learning that they shared a love of Pokémon, he then went home to retrieve two of his favorite Pokémon cards as a peace offering, complete with a freshly cleaned case.

Lincoln would end up sharing with his dad that the other boy was so moved by the gesture that he would end up hugging him.

“I just want to encourage all parents to talk to your kids,” Forseth concluded. “Let’s try to avoid just the swat on the butt [and] send them to their room. Doesn’t teach them anything.”

In Forseth’s opinion, kids get far more insight by figuring out how to resolve a problem themselves. “That’s what they’re actually going to face in the real world once they move out of our nests.”

He certainly has a point. A slap on the wrist followed by being marched down somewhere to say, “I’m sorry,” only further humiliates kids most of the time. With this gentler approach, kids are taught the intrinsic value of making amends after wrongdoing, not to mention the power of their own autonomy. Imagine that—blips in judgment can end up being major character-building moments.

Kudos to this dad and his very smart parenting strategy.

The Houston Rockets Are Buying In And Showing Out

Houston Rockets
Getty Image/Merle Cooper

The Houston Rockets opened the season with a blowout loss in Orlando, but since then have steadily found their footing and are currently riding a four-game win streak. The last three of those wins have been of the blowout variety against the Kings (twice) and most recently the Lakers.

In those games, they’ve shown an impressive level of buy-in to what Ime Udoka is asking of them, as their homegrown young talent and this offseason’s veteran additions are building chemistry quickly. Defensively, they’re taking advantage of their length and athleticism, applying pressure to opponents at every level, but do so smartly. They’re near the bottom-five of the league in both steals and blocks despite having a number of long-armed perimeter and wing defenders, but they appear vastly improved when it comes to positioning and avoiding breakdowns (in part because they aren’t gambling so much trying to create turnovers).

There’s some noise in all early season stats, especially on defense, and how they hold up over the long haul will certainly be something to watch. But for a team that looked aimless on both ends of the floor an awful lot of the time the last three years, having an apparent foundation and seeing guys buy into structure is a big deal for Houston. On offense, the same thing is happening. What was once a group of talented individuals is becoming a cohesive group that’s on the same page, and over this winning streak they’ve looked nothing short of spectacular.

A lot of it starts with VanVleet, who brings them the steady-handed point guard they simply haven’t had over the past three years. His ability to see the floor, control the pace, and set up teammates with easy baskets is a huge boost for this offense in terms of being able to be consistent. VanVleet and Alperen Sengun already have a terrific connection in the pick-and-roll game, and the Rockets young wings are learning how to cut into space with aggression, knowing if they find a void their veteran guard will feed them the ball.

VanVleet is leading the team with 8.4 assists per game, which is nearly three more per game than they were getting from Kevin Porter Jr. in that role a year ago — with VanVleet also having half as many turnovers per game. However, a more fluid Rockets offense only starts with VanVleet as a floor general. Houston is also embracing Sengun’s playmaking much more, embracing his passing ability and leveraging that in a number of areas. Whether it’s in the short-roll, handoff action, surveying the floor from the top of the key, or operating out of the high post, Sengun’s versatility as an offensive playmaker, both as a scorer and passer, has opened up the floor considerably.

When teams get burned a few too many times by Sengun as a facilitator, they’ll overreact to his passing threat and sometimes forget about his abilities as a scorer.

Along with VanVleet’s steady guidance and Sengun taking on a larger role as a hub of the offense, the Rockets win streak has been buoyed by one of the best stretches of play from Jalen Green in his young career. The third-year guard is having his most efficient start to the season, and he seems to be thriving in more of an off-ball role, where he seems to be more decisive and getting himself into better looks. He’s diagnosing mismatches and quickly attacking them before help arrives, and taking advantage of the space Houston is creating with their improved ball and player movement around him.

Take an early basket he had against the Lakers, where Sengun starts the possession in a post-up, recognizes the Lakers are sending help inside and kicks it out to Jabari Smith Jr., who drives and is cut off and swings it back out to Green, who attacks the paint and, when no help comes to Austin Reaves, pivots and rises over him for a bucket.

Green’s still deadliest in transition and semi-transition, as his burst and athleticism allow him to blow by lesser defenders on the perimeter if they don’t get a body on him quickly, and his finishing skill at the rim in traffic is terrific.

However, it’s his improvement in the halfcourt early in the season that is most notable. He’s still active in looking for his shot, but is doing so within the flow of the offense and is attacking space, both getting downhill and rising up for clean jumpers when defenders sag off — particularly in handoff/screen action with Sengun.

While his assist total has gone down, a lot of that is a matter of his usage. He’s being tasked with being a play-finisher more than he is a play-starter, as he’s often being given the ball on the move to leverage his speed and athleticism. However, he’s also shown some excellent feel going downhill, recognizing where help is coming from and who is the open man — either stationed on the outside as a shooter or cutting towards the rim.

Pretty much every major contributor Houston brought back from last year’s squad that has been in the rotation to start this season has seen a healthy increase in how many of their baskets are coming off of assists to start this season, from Green to Sengun to Smith Jr. to Tate. That is evidence of the teamwide buy-in to a more egalitarian approach to offense, and watching them it appears they are truly enjoying playing together because of it. There is no “your turn, my turn” stuff that results in lots of forced shots and standing around. There is constant movement, of players and the ball, and you can see the trust building in real time that if you make the right read, your teammate will see it and reward it.

While there will certainly be ups and downs that come this season, this winning streak and how they’ve played gives them a foundation to return to, something Udoka can remind them of if that trust in the system or their teammates ever seems to waver. The Rockets are winning with different players leading the way on offense each night, indicating they’re taking what the defense gives them at any given time.

That is how Houston builds long-term success, and we’re seeing a glimpse at what the future could hold for this Rockets team.

‘Masters Of The Air’ From Spielberg And Hanks: Everything We Know So Far About The ‘Band Of Brothers’ Followup Including The Release Date, Trailer & More

Masters Of The Air
Apple TV+

Fans of Band Of Brothers, step up and get ready to take flight with Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks’ followup to the beloved 2001 HBO series. Mind you, Masters Of The Air isn’t the first followup in this realm. The Pacific arrived in 2010 as an HBO limited series that focused on the U.S. Marine Corps within the Pacific War, and now, it’s time for our guys from the U.S. Army Air Forces to take viewers through a dazzling Apple TV+ limited series from Spielberg’s Amblin Television along with Hanks and Gary Goetzman’s Playtone.

Viewers can expect to witness aerial flight combat galore (Tom Cruise will definitely be watching), and of course, impeccable production values. When this series was first announced in 2019, the projected budget was reported to be in the $200 million range. It’s probably safe to assume that the budget actually ended up being much higher for 8 episodes, especially considering effects of inflation and all the chaos that Hollywood has endured in recent years.

This series also arrives with pedigreed directors — including Cary Joji Fukunaga (It, No Time To Die, Maniac), Tim Van Patten (The Pacific, Game Of Thrones, Deadwood), and Dee Rees (Mudbound), along with Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Captain Marvel) — taking their turns at the controls. Now, let’s talk more about what to expect from this series.

Plot

Masters Of The Air will be a dramatized version of a real story that is based upon Donald L. Miller’s book, Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany.

Miller’s book was adapted into a story by John Orloff (Band Of Brothers) and John Shiban (Breaking Bad, The X-Files) with Orloff doing screenplay honors. Expect a deep dive into the “Bloody Hundredth,” i.e. the 100th Bomb Group, who risked everything they had — body, mind, and emotions — to conduct bombing raids upon Nazi Germany. Apple TV+ has been calling the series “a true story of brotherhood and American airmen in WWII Europe,” but expect moments of anguish in addition to victories. That is to say, not every character who makes it onscreen is destined to get out alive, and that’s obviously to be expected while carrying out combat missions at 25,000 feet high.

The Bloody Hundredth’s efforts poured fuel on the ongoing goals of taking down Hitler’s Third Reich, and in the process, grievous injury and even capture awaited some who did battle in the skies. Shooting locations include southeast England villages and a German POW camp, along with bucolic fields, and at some point, as the trailer reveals, there will be a shirtless Austin Butler. Clearly, there will be a lot of moods happening in this production.

Masters Of The Air
Apple TV+

Here’s more from Apple TV+’s description.

Masters of the Air” follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the “Bloody Hundredth”) as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air. Portraying the psychological and emotional price paid by these young men as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich, is at the heart of “Masters of the Air.” Some were shot down and captured; some were wounded or killed. And some were lucky enough to make it home. Regardless of individual fate, a toll was exacted on them all.

Cast

Masters Of The Air
Apple TV+

Oscar winner Austin Butler (Elvis, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood), BAFTA winner/Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan (The Banshees Of Inisherin, The Batman), and Callum Turner (Fantastic Beasts) stand out among the ensemble.

Butler portrays Major Gale Clevin, who leads his underlings on peril-filled aerial bombardments and was, at one point, taken as a POW. Turner steps into equal rank as Major John Egan. Keoghan portrays Lt. Curtis Biddick. Other cast members include Anthony Boyle, Rafferty Law, Josiah Cross, Branden Cook, Ncuti Gatwa, and Nate Mann.

Hopefully, Butler managed to drop that Elvis voice that he couldn’t seem to kick for awhile. Stay tuned on that note.

Release Date

Apple TV+ on Friday, January 26, 2024 with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode every Friday through March 15, 2024.

Masters of the Air will soar to its premiere day on January 26, 2024

What To Watch: Our Picks For The TV Shows And Movies We Think You Should Stream This Week

CURSE
SHOWTIME

Each week our staff of film and TV experts surveys the entertainment landscape to select the ten best new/newish shows available for you to stream at home. We put a lot of thought into our selections, and our debates on what to include and what not to include can sometimes get a little heated and feelings may get hurt, but so be it, this is an important service for you, our readers. With that said, here are our selections for this week.

20. The Golden Bachelor (Hulu)

BACH
ABC

What we have on our hands here is a Bachelor spinoff about an older gentleman looking for love from a group of similarly aged ladies. Which is… honestly kind of adorable. Good for them. And good for us, too, especially if one of the episodes features a date where they eat dinner at a diner at 4:45 and then go watch an episode of Columbo in matching recliners. This was written as a joke but honestly sounds kind of wonderful. That’s true love right there, people.

Watch it on Hulu

19. Upload (Amazon Prime)

UPLOAD
AMAZON

Welcome to the third season of Upload, a fun little science fiction-y comedy from the creator of The Office, Greg Daniels, that is set in 2033 in a world where humans can — you guessed it — upload themselves into a virtual afterlife when they die. The show follows Nathan, a guy who dies young under potentially mysterious circumstances and tries to sort things through from a very fancy new virtual community. It sounds strange. We promise it’s pretty fun.

Watch it on Amazon

18. Invincible (Amazon)

INVINC
AMAZON

Robert Kirkman’s other most beloved comic book series proved that Amazon really is doing superheroes and supervillains better than anyone else right now. When this round of episodes begins, Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) will need to fully reckon with the implications of that climactic fight in the sky with his dad, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). Additionally, his love life will receive new wrinkles, and Walton Goggins will be back, meaning that the man who would be Boyd Crowder again is achieving TV supremacy with every passing year. New characters shall be portrayed by Ben Schwartz and Tatiana Maslany.

Watch it on Amazon

17. Boogeyman (Hulu)

BOOGEY
HULU

This 2023 movie goes back to the 1973 short story by Stephen King as the perfect streaming lead-in to nightmares about Halloween season. This is not a true tale, but perhaps thinking of it that way can increase the terror. The story explores the enduring Boogeyman/Bogeyman folklore that has persisted around the globe for centuries. We’ve got a distracted father not paying enough attention to a pair of sisters, who begin to experience horrors that could trigger any lingering fears you’ve ever had about monsters lurking in your bedroom closet. The cast includes Sophie Thatcher, David Dastmalchian, and Chris Messina.

Watch it on Hulu

16. Lessons in Chemistry (Apple TV)

CHEM
APPLE

Brie Larson has never shied away from speaking out for feminist causes, and in this series, she stars in the adaptation of Bonnie Garmus’ bestselling novel, Lessons In Chemistry. Garmus became an overnight “a literary rock star” at age 66 for this impressive debut novel that is all the rage in book clubs everywhere. That will give the show a built-in audience as Larson portrays a brilliant chemist who is fired for a sexist double standard. This leads to an unexpected career change as a cooking show host. This high-profile new platform allows her to sandwich in other nuggets of wisdom for housewives as well as demonstrating how to bake yummy cookies.

Watch it on Apple TV Plus

15. Living for the Dead (Hulu)

DEAD
HULU

Kristen Stewart’s gay ghost hunting show has everything: slayances, spook-kikis, haunted strip clubs, and comedian Roz Hernandez snacking on donuts while she yells at homophobic poltergeists. The group – a hodgepodge of paranormal experts that includes a psychic, a witch, and a tarot card reader – road trips across the country in this docuseries produced by the Queer Eye creators, chatting it up with demonic entities and benevolent spooks to get to the root of some very real, very human problems. If there’s a better way to spend your weekend than watching a group of well-dressed Queer spiritualists commune with the dead while cracking jokes and busting stereotypes, we don’t want to know about it.

Watch it on Hulu

14. Quiz Lady (Hulu)

QUIZ
HULU

The important stuff here:

— This movie stars Sandra Oh and Awkwafina and Will Ferrell, which is a good start

— This is the official summary: “Anne and her estranged train-wreck of a sister, Jenny, must work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wild cross-country trek to get the cash.”

Yes, this will do just fine.

Watch it on Hulu

13. Loki (Disney Plus)

LOKI
DISNEY

When we last left Loki, the title character (Tom Hiddleston) had traveled to an alternate version of the Time Variance Authority where no one remembers him and there are statues of Kang (Jonathan Majors) everywhere. This second season picks up where we left off, only Loki soon discovers he’s being thrust back and forth not to an alternate timeline, but the past and present of his current timeline. Seeking the help of the present-day Mobius (Owen Wilson, the past’s version doesn’t know Loki) the two seek out Ke Huy Quan’ Ouroboros (or OB for short), a fellow who has been around a long time and seems to know how to do everything, to stop Loki from doing these involuntary jumps back and forth through time.

Also, Loki and Mobius are charged with finding one of Kang’s variants, for reasons that are too complicated to explain here. So the pair travel to 19th-century Chicago to find an inventor and con man named Victor Timely. The problem is other people with the ability to jump through time are also after Timely and his fate has repercussions on multiple timelines.

This show is a lot, which is by design, but it’s still a lot. The first season played as good fun, and this second season is also fun, though maybe just a little less so (at least through four episodes), but while watching it’s hard to forget the real world where one of the main cast members is on trial for assault.

Watch it on Disney Plus

12. Rick and Morty (Adult Swim)

Ricky and Morty season 6 trailer
Adult Swim/YouTube

Rick and Morty used to take notoriously long breaks between seasons, but not this time. Season seven of the animated sci-fi comedy series returns less than a year after the season six finale. There have been big changes behind the scenes, however: co-creator Justin Roiland, who also voiced the title characters, was fired from the show. Tricky line to straddle going forward, but the show has rarely let us down before.

11. Rap Sh!t (Max)

RAP
MAX

Rap Sh!t has returned for a second season which means there is a new batch of episodes that follow the consistently entertaining lives of Shawna and Mia as they rise up the ranks in Miami’s rap scene. Season one of the Issa Rae-led series was all about establishing their rap careers, and now in season two, the duo looks to take things beyond South Beach. With new heights come new struggles as Shawna and Mia will have their integrity tested over and over again in exchange for quick success. Through it all, you can expect to laugh and cheer on the duo all while enjoying the show’s stellar soundtrack which features appearances from real-life hip-hop stars and up-and-coming acts who fit the show’s aesthetic.

Watch it on Max

10. Pain Hustlers (Netflix)

PAIN
NETFLIX

Emily Blunt portrays a down-on-her-luck single mom who launches a new career alongside Chris Evans’ pharmaceutical sales rep. Not a great idea, ultimately, given that she becomes involved in a racketeering scheme. And of course, she begins to realize that this company’s success is coming at a ghastly price for humanity. This is a dramatized version of the rise and fall of Insys Therapeutics, which no longer exists, and yeah, you will definitely find out why.

Watch it on Netflix

9. Fingernails (Apple TV)

FINGER
APPLE

Apple TV+’s Fingernails turns love into an equation that can only be solved by, you guessed it, AI. Jessie Buckley plays Anna, a woman in a long term, algorithmically-sound relationship with Ryan (The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White) that’s been verified and sterilized by something called The Love Test – a machine that demands a couple’s fingernails in order to qualify their relationship’s percentage of success. When Anna meets her new co-worker Amir (Riz Ahmed), numbers give way to actual chemistry, causing her to doubt everything she thought she knew about love. It’s probably the most interesting soft-fi romance drama you’ll see this year.

Watch it on Apple TV Plus

8. Lawmen: Bass Reeves (Paramount Plus)

BASS
PARAMOUNT

Taylor Sheridan currently has 6666 in the works on the Yellowstone side, but first, he’s taking viewers back to the real Old West. David Oyelowo portrays the legendary Black U.S. Deputy Marshal. This series will harken back to the Post-Reconstruction era, in which Bass Reeves became a notorious frontier hero by capturing thousands of the most frightening criminals in the land. Oyelowo will be accompanied by Dennis Quaid, Garrett Hedlund, and Donald Sutherland.

Watch it on Paramount Plus

7. Big Mouth (Netflix)

BIG
NETFLIX

The seventh season of Big Mouth ties Orange is the New Black and Grace and Frankie as Netflix’s longest-running scripted series (it will break the record in its eighth and final season). Not bad for an animated show about horny teenagers and hormone monsters. Guest stars this season include Megan Thee Stallion, Lupita Nyong’o, and Pulitzer Prize winner Lin-Manuel Miranda as a pubic hair. Good show.

Watch it on Netflix

6. No Hard Feelings (Netflix)

HARD
SONY

No Hard Feelings is more than just the scene of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence beating up teenagers while naked. I mean, it’s that, but it’s also a breezy R-rated comedy with some genuine moments of heart. Lawrence and co-star Andrew Barth Feldman have strong chemistry, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Natalie Morales, and Kyle Mooney show up in funny supporting roles. If every movie is going to be based on an existing property, forget comic books — make more Craigslist ad comedies.*

Watch it on Netflix

5. The Fall of the House of Usher (Netflix)

USHER
NETFLIX

Mike Flanagan fans, get ready. The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass showrunner is back along with Carla Gugino, who will spook your soul right out of your bod and deliver a “consequential” evening to “a collection of stunted hearts” that is the Usher family. Yikes. Do not expect a literal adaptation of the Edgar Allen Poe short story. The story focuses here on the hell created by ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher, who built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege, and power. Horrible secrets shall surface when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman, portrayed with glee by Gugino.

4. Five Nights at Freddy’s (Peacock)

FREDDY
PEACOCK

Have you ever been convinced that the animatronics at Chuck E. Cheese are freaking evil? Welcome to Five Nights At Freddy’s. In this adaptation of the wildly popular video game, Josh Hutcherson stars as Mike Schmidt, a security guard who’s about to seriously regret his new job. Tasked with keeping an eye on Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza joint, Mike quickly learns that the night shift is a terrifying hell ride as the pizzeria’s animatronic creatures come to life with a task of their own: Kill. Like the game, Mike will have to do everything in his power to survive the night and elude the dead-eyed mechanical monsters hunting him down.

3. For All Mankind (Apple TV)

Somehow, Joel Kinnaman has now been physically transformed to barely look like Joel Kinnaman while still starring in this alternate-history space-race series, and in the year 2003, the Earth’s nations are competing like hell to capture and mine asteroids full of precious minerals. That doesn’t sound ominous at all, and of course, there’s still plenty of beefing between nations after Happy Valley has grown in size on Mars’ surface.

David Fincher — director of movies like Fight Club and The Social Network — is back with another uplifting tale about a well-adjusted dude. From the official description: “Solitary, cold, methodical and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, a killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. Yet, the longer he waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind, if not his cool.” Jokes aside, Fincher does these kinds of movies as well as anyone and usually makes them compelling, so give it a go if you want to spend a few hours with a murderous sociopath in the safest possible way.

The Curse Nathan Fielder Emma Stone
Showtime

There are cringe comedies and then there’s Showtime’s The Curse, a limited series about a married pair of alt-HGTV home flippers gentrifying their New Mexico neighborhood via eco-friendly monstrosities and calling it philanthropy. Created by two masters of squirm – Benny Safdie and Nathan Fielder – the show is a voyeuristic exercise that tests fans’ capacity for second-hand embarrassment as its main characters, the affluent Asher (Felder) and Whitney (a shockingly unlikable Emma Stone) bulldoze the soul of their small, impoverished community with just a few reality TV cameras and a staggering amount of white privilege. It’s the best, most uncomfortable TV show you’ll watch this year.

What Time Is The 2024 Grammy Nominations Announcement?

grammy
Getty Image

Make your predictions now, because the 2024 Grammy Awards nominations are being announced this week. Albums released from October 1, 2022, to September 15, 2023, are eligible, so fans of acts like Drake and Taylor Swift can’t help but hold their collective breath as they wait to see whether they’ll faves will secure nominations — and what awards they could be nominated for.

The announcements will be made on Friday, November 10. However, the Grammys website doesn’t have a specific time. Last year, the nominations began rolling out at around noon ET, so that’s probably a good time to look for them this year.

Earlier this year, the Recording Academy revealed a few changes to the Awards’ format, including adding new categories under the pop, jazz, and African music fields while reducing the number of nominees in the “Big Four” categories (Best New Artist, Album, Song, and Record of the Year). This was done to reduce the length of the ceremony itself as well as consolidating voting for difficult choices and dark horses.

While the Academy didn’t specifically cite the reaction to the snub of Beyoncé’s Renaissance for Album Of The Year, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. did acknowledge it, pointing out his hope in expanding Academy membership to ensure that voting encompassed the breadth of music and not just a few elitist artists and categories.

When Will ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Come Out?

Captain America
Marvel Studios

Now that the SAG strike has ended, prepare for every movie you’ve heard about over the last two years to jump right back into production as soon as humanly possible, and now we can finally get back watching what we love: actors talking about their work. It’s really grounding and important.

Last month, Disney announced that the latest Avengers-adjacent chapter, Captain America: Brave New World, would be released on July 26th, 2024, just in time for the height of the summer blockbuster season. Of course, before the strike, the original release date was May 3rd, 2024.

There has been some speculation that the movie might be moved back to its May release date, but now, Deadpool 3 is set to have that release date, too. We’ve seen unofficial double-feature releases work before, though that seems unlikely to work here, so it’s best to keep two very different Marvel character separate! For the movie theater’s sake.

Brave New World will bring back Anthony Mackie as the latest Captain America, while introducing Harrison Ford to the MCU as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, something that Mackie was quite happy about. “[Ford] dispels that really quickly because he’s such a cool guy. He’s everything a movie star should be,” Mackie recently told Inverse. “He would say, ‘Let’s shoot this piece of sh*t.’ And everybody was like, ‘Yeah, let’s shoot this sh*t.’” Stars are just like us! They love getting things over with.

Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid White and Varsity Maize

SNX
Nike

Price: $205

Every time there is a new Off-White Nike collaboration it comes across as a bittersweet reminder that Virgil Abloh was taken too soon — even when the new sneaker is bright, sunny, and joyful like this White and Varsity Maize take on the Air Force 1 Mid.

Featuring a spikey traction outsole with Flywire cables across the leather upper, grim reaper embroidered details, and that iconic Off-White branding, the Off-White AF-1 Mid is a reminder that there isn’t a single personality in the sneaker space right now that is as willing to radically transform a classic sneaker the way Abloh was.

Can You See Your Spotify Wrapped From Past Years?

Spotify logo phone
Getty Image

As it gets closer to the end of the year, Spotify users wait to see just exactly what songs and artists will make the top of their annual Spotify Wrapped lists. For those who don’t know, to close out the holiday season, Spotify gives all users a list of their most-played statistics — designed in an entertaining format. Last year also saw some new features, including giving individual users their “Listening Personality Type.”

For new users or those who just might want to see what they enjoyed in years past, here’s what to know about if you can see old Spotify Wrapped editions.

While you won’t exactly be able to see the old Spotify Wrapped pop-up from past years unless you screenshotted it and saved it somewhere, users can see their “Top Songs” playlist for each year, going several years back — but only if you chose to save your Wrapped list as one at the time.

Since Spotify only started doing the annual Wrapped drops in 2016, users won’t be able to see anything before that in terms of data. However, six years (going on seven for 2023) of knowing your favorites is still a special treat, making it fun to look back on the songs you loved.

Right now, Spotify users should see their new ones by next month.
