‘Oppenheimer’ Is Making A Triumphant Return To (Some) IMAX Screens After A Money-Gobbling Run

Over the summer, something unlikely happened at the movies: Two non-franchise movies gobbled up a ton of money. Barbie’s success wasn’t too surprising. Oppenheimer’s was, a bit. It’s a Christopher Nolan movie, and the throngs tend to flock to his work, even when they don’t feature millionaire crime fighters. But it’s also a three-hour downer epic about the father of the atomic bomb. Despite the length and grim subject matter, it killed at the box office, including on IMAX. Some months after opening, it’s coming back to the biggest big screens.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is re-releasing their super-sized non-biopic on a select number of IMAX screens. By select, we mean six (6) — four in California and New York City, one in London, and the last in Melbourne. The reissue will only last one week.

Since opening in mid-July, Oppenheimer has grossed nearly a billion bucks worldwide. Of that lofty sum, $183 million came from IMAX screens, some of which — as at New York City’s AMC Lincoln Square — exhibited on 70mm film.

In an age when even the biggest movies hit on-demand mere weeks into their theatrical runs — or, in the case of the new Five Nights at Freddy’s, on the same day — Oppenheimer has been an outlier. It will only hit on-demand streaming on November 21 — months after its release date buddy Barbie crossed over to home video. But starting this Friday, lucky viewers in four cities will get a chance to see it big, as Nolan intended.

The Best Full-Sized Candy Bars To Give Trick-Or-Treaters (If You Ball Like That)

Trick-or-treating is probably a practice you retired many a Halloween ago. Or a few Halloweens ago. Or in 2022.

Let’s face it, a full-grown adult — in a costume — is supposed to be at a bar, or at the very least a house party getting sloshed, not going door to door asking for candy. Yet, many of us likely have fond memories of meeting up with our friends and marauding around the neighborhood, demanding free candy. It was the best sort of tradition for so many of us.

We’d plot our courses carefully in those halcyon days. We knew which houses had the straight dope and who was giving out toothbrushes or, gasp, apples. More often than not, the candy was single servings of Jolly Ranchers or Hershey’s Minis or Tootsie Pops. You know, the one-off bites of candy that no one loves but no one really hates either. But there was always one house where they were giving out full-sized candy bars. Maybe they’d just made a Costco run or perhaps they simply understood that passing out full-sized candy bars would make them legends. Either way, scoring a real candy bar on Halloween made you feel like Indiana Jones, snagging an Incan idol — you’d been through the shitstorm of toothbrushes and peppermint pinwheels and, now, you’d found Halloween gold.

This week, we’re going back to look at some classic American candy bars and ask the ultimate question: Which full-sized candy bar is not only the best but which would you be most stoked about getting while trick-or-treating?

12. 3 Musketeers

3 Musketeers
Mars, Incorporated

The Bar:

Even on a good day, a 3 Musketeers is kinda boring. It’s “filling” covered in chocolate. That filling is a light chocolate fluff that’s basically egg whites and milk chocolate which creates a very subpar nougat.

Bottom Line:

It sort of feels like seeing a full-sized candy bar going into your bag would be exciting. Then seeing it’s a 3 Musketeers would elicit a big ol’ ‘meh’ on the excitement meter.

11. Butterfinger

Butterfinger
Ferrara Candy Company

The Bar:

Hear us out. The actual flavor of a Butterfinger is rad. It’s a burnt creamy peanut buttery delight covered in chocolate.

Bottom Line:

But where this one falls down is the “crispy” consistency. Has anyone ever not been pissed off by how long it takes to clean your teeth after eating a Butterfinger? Exactly.

[Editor’s note: Fuck that, still worth it.]

10. Baby Ruth

Baby Ruth
Ferrara Candy Company

The Bar:

Oh, the famous candy bar every thinks is named after infamous baseballer Babe Ruth. It’s named after a President and holder of the most 19th-century name ever Grover Cleveland and his daughter Ruth, for what it’s worth. The bar is a pretty satisfying treat. It’s a more substantial nougat with a layer of sweet caramel and then covered in salty peanuts and enrobed in chocolate.

Bottom Line:

It’s kind of a mess of a bar — the peanuts have exactly zero uniformity — but it’s actually pretty tasty. It’s one of those bars you kinda forget exist, then enjoy finding at the bottom of your trick-or-treat bag.

9. Almond Joy

Almond Joy
The Hershey Company

The Bar:

Imagine a Mounds, but good. It’s amazing what a single almond can accomplish. The coconut base needs that almond-y crack to go along with the chocolate coating. Plus, there are two morsels in each package, which is a big win.

Bottom Line:

The best win though was when you snagged an Almond Joy with two almonds on one piece. Those were the days…

8. Mars Bar (Milky Way)

Milky Way
Mars, Incorporated

The Bar:

Here we have that fluffy nougat again. But the addition of caramel makes this bar light years beyond a 3 Musketeers. In this case, that milk chocolate nougat is a bit denser and was originally made to mimic a malted Milky Way milkshake, which was popular back in the 1920s.

Bottom Line:

It’s a pretty good bar, even if that fluffy nougat leaves you a bit wanting.

7. Caramello (Caramilk)

Caramilk
Cadbury

The Bar:

This one shouldn’t work as well as it does. It’s just Cadbury chocolate filled with runny caramel. That’s it! Yet, it’s in that barebones simplicity that this candy bar rises above the rest.

Bottom Line:

Let’s just say it’s great for what it is. Is it the best? Well, no, we’re only at number seven after all.

6. Crunch Bar

Crunch Bar
Nestlé

The Bar:

Nestlé Crunch bar > Hershey Krackel. Part of that is the simple fact that Nestlé uses better chocolate than Hershey in this case. Both bars contain a genius matrix of rice puffs that give the bar an airy crunch — so we are kinda splitting hairs here.

Bottom Line:

What we’re saying is that a chocolate bar with rice puffs is a pretty good candy bar to score. At the very least you won’t have to eat ten minis to get the same high.

5. 100 Grand

100 Grand Bar
NBC Universal

The Bar:

Now, take that Crunch bar and stuff it with sickeningly sweet caramel until it blows up. The crunch from the puffed rice mixed with the chocolate and caramel works a magical alchemy of sweet and savory delights.

Bottom Line:

It’s the perfect candy bar in many ways and the only reason it’s this low is that the rest are too classically great to deny.

4. Twix

Twix
Mars, Incorporated

The Bar:

The last four really come down to personal preference and the mood we’re in at the time. Twix hits a lot of nails square on the head. Two pieces in each package. Check. Chocolate and caramel. Check. A crispy and slightly savory cookie. Check.

Bottom Line:

It’s a perfect triad of flavors and textures: chocolate, sweet, savory/soft, gooey, and crunchy. Did we mention you get two in every package?

3. Kit Kat

Kit Kat
Nestlé

The Bar:

This English candy bar is a global juggernaut. The thin wafers covered in milk chocolate are almost perfect when it comes to candy. The thin wafer and chocolate creme bring a soft and crunchy texture to the smooth chocolate coating. Plus, there are four bars, technically. There’s an interaction with the medium that makes a Kit Kat an outlier in the candy bar world. Breaking off the bars is part of what makes this candy bar so great.

Bottom Line:

Or, you can just bite into the whole bar and watch the world burn.

2. Snickers

Snickers
Mars, Incorporated

The Bar:

Did you know Snickers was named after the Mars family’s favorite horse? Yes, Mars is an actual American family who makes candy (and billions of dollars) — it’s not just a company name. A Snickers is a satisfying candy bar all around. The nougat base is far more substantial than that of a 3 Musketeer for starters. Then there’s a good layer of caramel topped with a uniform row of salty peanuts mixed into the caramel. Then the whole thing’s enrobed with milk chocolate.

Bottom Line:

It’s basically the best parts of a Milky Way, Baby Ruth, and 3 Musketeers done in their best possible form in one candy bar.

1. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Reese's
The Hershey Company

The “Bar”:

Are peanut butter cups candy bars? Maybe. Maybe not. But, let’s face it, getting a full-sized package of two Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups is the biggest win of the night. If it’s a pack of the Big Cups, then you’ve officially won Halloween. The creamy chocolate and peanut butter are hard to beat. Mostly because peanut butter filling is better than any faux American nougat.

Bottom Line:

So, call it nostalgia or call our love for the legitimately transcendent pairing of chocolate and peanut butter. But this is hands down the winner.

Will J. Cole Be On Lil Yachty’s ‘A Safe Place’ Podcast?

Lil Yachty has done it all. Rapping, singing, acting, and now podcasting, the Atlanta native built quite an impressive resume. Since launching his podcast, A Safe Place back in June, Yachty, along with his cohost MitchGoneMad has brought in several exciting guests, including Kai Cenat, Arrogant Tae, and Sexyy Red. Earlier today (October 31), the “Drive Me Crazy!” hitmaker teased an upcoming guest on the podcast with an image of a figure in a silhouette, as he does with all the guests. Since then, fans and listeners have been sharing theories as to whom the mystery guest could be.

Will J. Cole be on Lil Yachty’s A Safe Place podcast?

The obscured figure features a person wearing dreadlocks, who also appears to dribbling a basketball. The figure certainly does look like J. Cole. Not to mention, Cole is a basketball player, who has an active contract with the Scarborough Shooting Stars of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.

Back in 2021, Cole also played with the Rwanda-based Patriots Basketball Club in the Basketball Africa League.

Primarily a rapper, Cole has had a promising run of features this year, including Drake’s “First Person Shooter,” which would later earn Cole his first chart-topper on the Billboard Hot 100. Cole and Yachty also collaborated on a song called “The Secret Recipe” earlier this month.

Therefore, it’s not unlikely that the mystery guest is, in fact, Cole.

According to the Instagram post, the new episode will drop at some point tomorrow on YouTube and Podcast streaming platforms.

Shaq Dressed Up Like Emo Jimmy Butler For Halloween

It’s Halloween, and it’s a Tuesday night, which means that the Inside the NBA guys are on TNT for some NBA action in costume. While no one on set went quite as far as Giannis Antetokounmpo did one day prior when he dressed up like Hulk and did his best Hulk voice, the fellas still managed to lean into their respective bits.

The star of the show was, without a doubt, Shaquille O’Neal. The former NBA champion with the Miami Heat decided to pay tribute to another member of the Heat, as he threw on a t-shirt, a wig, a lip ring, and a nose ring as part of an Emo Jimmy Butler costume.

Kudos to Shaq for realizing that the best Halloween costumes are the ones that don’t require going too far over the top — the man is getting away with wearing a t-shirt to work for the evening! As for the rest of the team, Charles Barkley wore a completely ridiculous hat as part of his bus driver costume, while Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson turned to movies for inspiration, with Smith dressing like Iceman from Top Gun and Johnson dressing like Vito Corleone from The Godfather.

It is unclear if the guys will change out of their costumes as the night goes on, but at the very least, I hope Shaq does not.

Alec Baldwin Thinks Now Is The Perfect Time In His Life For A Reality Show About His Big Family

Alec Baldwin has had a rough last two years. In October of 2021, the actor was involved in the accidental fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins while shooting the Western Rust. The aftermath has been dizzying, with stories pointing to a disorganized set. There’s even a chance Baldwin could be recharged for involuntary manslaughter, months after the same charge was dropped. Considering his future is very much up in the air, it’s perhaps a bit surprising to learn he’s thinking of starting a reality show.

Per Entertainment Tonight, Baldwin appeared on Kelly Ripa’s podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera, during which he broke the news that he and his wife Hilaria are considering making a show about their gigantic family, partly for practical reasons.

“Everything’s about my family. I have really tried in the last several years, once we had five and then six, and then seven kids. I can’t go anywhere for any length of time,” Baldwin told her. “In the old days I’d jump on a plane and go to L.A… It was easy to pick up and go… I need 12 plane tickets — nannies, kids, my wife, I need, like, 11. They don’t even have 11 seats in the business class section of the plane.”

Baldwin revealed that after temporarily moving his entire brood from their home in New York to Los Angeles for a job he was doing, he realized that after all the expenses he was simply going to “break even.”

“Somebody said, a famous TV producer who I won’t name, said to me, ‘Come do a series with me in Vancouver.’ And I was like, ‘I’m not going to Vancouver for five months. That’s not happening,’” Baldwin explained. “So everything we did and then shows we have considered and pitches we’ve heard, and even one or two pitches we’ve made about our family and that reality show has all been so we could stay home and just work from home. I’m desperate to try to work from New York.”

It’s not clear how far into the planning phase his threatened reality show is, but perhaps he wants to wait a bit, see how things pan out. Otherwise Todd and Julie Chrisley won’t be the only reality show stars behind bars.

Bad Bunny Transforms Into A Terrifying Monster In His Horror-Themed ‘Baticano’ Video

Bad Bunny has had an exciting spooky season. Earlier this month, the Puerto Rican superstar released his fifth studio album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana. He also appeared on Saturday Night Live, as a host and musical guest. As Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana continues to be one of 2023’s buzziest releases, Bunny has shared with us the latest offering from the album — a horror-themed new visual for “Baticano” — which arrives just in time for Halloween.

In the cinematic visual, a Frakenstein-esque scientist, played by the illustrious Steve Buscemi, creates a terrifying monster out of Bunny. Bunny is later set free, arrives at a graveyard, where corpses and ghosts deliver a haunting dance routine.

The “Baticano” video is just the latest example of Bunny demonstrating his on-screen talents. Last year, he starred in the thriller Bullet Train, and this year he had a role in the biographical drama, Cassandro. He also stole the show during his appearance on SNL, keeping the audience in stitches throughout the night.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Bunny teased that we may soon see him in more onscreen projects in the future.

“You could say that I have been investing a little bit more of myself in acting,” he said.

In the meantime, you can see the video for “Baticano” above.

How To Have A Perfect Fall Day In Lake Tahoe, One Of America’s Great Adventure Spots

The Uproxx 2023 Fall Travel Hot List is live! Visit here for the full experience!

I was searching the Uproxx archives the other day and was surprised to find that we don’t have much on Lake Tahoe. Home to the largest Alpine lake in North America – reaching a depth of 1,645 feet and spanning 22 miles – the spirit and overall feel of this Sierra Nevada mountain city deserves much more than just a mention for an end-of-summer getaway. Plus, it’s a place where people go on adventures during the day and party their faces off at night — right in line with our ethos.

Lake Tahoe in summer is flooded with tourists to bask in the lake during its peak season while the winter is bombarded with tourists and out-of-town skiers. This makes fall a great time to visit this crystal-clear alpine destination — especially if you’re a hiker on a budget. The beginning of crisper temperatures, as November kicks in, allows you to fully enjoy this beautiful mountain town for all that it is, offering a chance to finally snap that Instagram-worthy photo on the rocks and catch an alpine sunset without the crazy crowds.

Here’s our guide to a perfect early November day in Lake Tahoe:

7 a.m.: Get On The Road Early

MIKALA LUGEN

I have no idea where you’re coming from or if you’re flying in. Sacramento, San Francisco, Stockton, Reno, or any of Tahoe’s dozens of suburban municipalities all require different drive times. Or maybe you’re just landing and renting a car. The point being, you have a big day ahead — time to get moving!

9 am: Get The Essentials

lake tahoe, california, fall vacations
MIKALA LUGEN

Driving into the town of Lake Tahoe, you’ll be greeted with an array of marijuana dispensaries, bougie coffee co-ops, outdoor sport rental shops, overpriced clothing brand stores, and casinos (once you’re on the Nevada side). Before you arrive at the heart of town, look out for Tahoe Wellness Center on the left as you drive onto Lake Tahoe Blvd. Weed is legal in California and Nevada and this is a good spot to stock up on dank.

Speaking as a mountain town person, I’m going to call weed vital to this whole endeavor. In fact, I think it’s a pretty crucial element to most days.

Next, you’ll want to stop to get a fall-flavored drink at Driftwood Cafe. Located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe in Heavenly Village, the mocha is a perfect wake-up call for the day ahead. It also boasts a great breakfast menu, including an excellent take on Huevos Rancheros.

10:30 am: Swim (Or Skinny Dip) In Secret Cove

lake tahoe, california, fall vacations
MIKALA LUGEN

After fueling up, the late morning after the sun has come up is a perfect time to bask in the crystal clear waters. A short 26-minute drive up US-50 E and NV-28 S, you’ll come across Secret Cove. I suppose there is an exact parking lot entrance one-and-a-half miles south of Sand Harbor, but you’ll probably be better off parking alongside the road and making your way down the ditch to end up somewhere on the half-mile hiking path. Make sure to bring a towel, snacks, and your mind-elevating goodies from earlier.

Out of all the spots in Lake Tahoe, why come to Secret Cove? Because it’s one of the only legally allowed nude beaches along the lake’s 75 miles of coastline. It makes for a beautiful free-spirited swim solo or with friends.

lake tahoe, california, fall vacations
MIKALA LUGEN

This secluded nudist beach on the east shore is perfect no matter what the weather is outside. Call it a cold plunge, if you must!

Coming in the fall, you’re more likely to run into cloudy or rainy days but don’t let that deter you. When I arrived, a random heavy rainstorm rolled in. I got soaked to the bone through my multiple layers of clothing. While the rain was pretty freaking cold, I braved the rain, stripped down, and found solace in the ~relatively~ warm water.

Lake Tahoe stays a pretty decent 55-65 degrees in the summer and fall months, so although it was chilly outside, the water wasn’t horrible. It’s a pretty amazing feeling to be one with nature – both in your simplest forms – and just chill. Even in the rain, the water is so clear, it truly is a magical feeling to be soak in these crisp, blue waters.

12 p.m.: Explore Heavenly Village

lake tahoe, california, fall vacations
MIKALA LUGEN

After drying off, make your way back to downtown. You used to be able to park for free all day in the Village Shopping Center, but the city has recently been issuing tickets if you’re parked there for longer than two hours. Choose your battle on this one, as there is plenty of paid parking nearby as well.

Whether it’s a sunny day or the rain is coming down, Heavenly Village is worth a spin. The quaint cobblestone sidewalks lead to over 40 shops to poke your head into, most namely Earthbound Trading Co, Patagonia, Powder House Sports, Poe Rava Gem Co… you get the idea… adventure stuff. If shopping isn’t your thing, you can also see a matinee at the 8-plex movie theater, dress up and take photos at Old Time Photo, lace up some ice skates and hit the ice skating rink, hit some balls at the miniature golf course, or unwind at Serenity Spa.

Eating your way through Heavenly Village is a very viable option. If you need a midday snack, grab some cookies at Great American Cookies or snag a table at Champagne & Chocolate to indulge in homemade fudges, caramel apples, coffee, wine, and of course champagne (yes I have a huge sweet tooth). Although Heavenly Village concluded its summer concert series back in… summer… restaurants feature live music every day of the week, year-round with local artists and bands. You just have to poke your head around to see what’s going on.

Before heading back to the car, make a stop at Twilight and Rust SLT. This art gallery features stunning imagery from gallery owners Jonathan Thompson and Robert Cole, showcasing fine art landscapes of Lake Tahoe throughout the seasons.

4:30 pm: Cave Rock Sunset Views

lake tahoe, california, fall vacations
MIKALA LUGEN

What’s more perfect than ending the day with stunning views of Lake Tahoe?

Head 13 minutes up Hwy 50 to end your daylight hours at Cave Rock. There are two ways to do this: park and watch the views from the shoreline or hike an easy quarter-mile trail for the ultimate elevated sunset views.

For easy horizon-setting sunset views, you’ll find Cave Rock State Park on the left just before the tunnel. During the summer, the park is open until 8 p.m., but in the fall months, it closes at 4 p.m. Parking here is expensive – upwards of $15 for non-Nevada license plate holders – so you might want to opt for free parking on the side of the road or at the trailhead to the hike. You’ll be able to pick a spot on one of the rocky shoals to post up with a joint for an easy-viewing sunset.

lake tahoe, california, fall vacations
MIKALA LUGEN

If you want to do the short hike, you have to carefully watch your GPS because the turn-in for the hike can be easily missed. You’ll pass Zephyr Cove and up ahead you’ll see the tunnel. Just before the tunnel, make a right onto Cave Rock Drive. Drive up a little ways and you’ll see the trailhead on your left. There isn’t a lot of room for parking but you can always park on the side of the road as well.

It takes just 15 minutes to get the ultimate sunset views overlooking Lake Tahoe, so for me it was well worth it.

Leaving Cave Rock, consider stopping at Zephyr Cove Resort just five minutes back down US-50 W. The resort has a small grove of aspen trees along the shore that turn red, orange, and yellow in October. Snap a quick photo here and then make your way back downtown.

6 p.m.: Dinner & Whiskey at Stateline Restaurant & Brewery

lake tahoe, california, fall vacations
MIKALA LUGEN

Last but not least, end your day in high spirits at Stateline Restaurant & Brewery. You’ll make your way back down US-50 W and repark your car at Village Shopping Center or at one of the many paid parking options. This little hole-in-the-wall restaurant is in Heavenly Village at Cecil’s Fountain Plaza, where you can easily find yourself drunk on whiskey. Believe me, this place makes it easy.

I’m not usually one to drink much alcohol, but it felt wrong to not order whiskey here. The drink menu is one of the most robust I’ve seen, offering over 350 whiskeys and 10 house-made, barrel-aged brews. I should’ve tapped our resident whiskey writer Zach on a must-try fall whiskey to sip on, but I went with a classic Jameson pour with a side of pickle juice. If you haven’t tried a proper pickleback shot, then here’s where you can do so.

Besides the whiskey, Stateline offers a great dinner menu. I always enjoy doing family-style meals where we order several smaller dishes and share, so the fried shrimp, edamame, artichoke dip, fried calamari, and the famed Stateline tacos made a perfect sharing option amongst friends.

8 p.m.: Casually Drive Through The Residential Streets… Or go wild!

lake tahoe, california, fall vacations
MIKALA LUGEN

I always find it so cathartic to drive through the residential streets of new places (or be a passenger, after too many whiskeys, as in this case). Especially those idealized places that make you wonder, “Well, who the hell lives here?” Seeing the warm lighting peeking out behind pulled curtains, I wondered what the inside of these beautiful mountain lake homes looked like. Don’t allow the act of blissfully slow driving to be forgotten. Take your time leaving this alpine city and find some peaceful moments in the outer residential streets before embarking on your trip home. There are certainly some magnificent homes to gawk at.

Or… if you’re not ready to leave yet… Fat Cat, Moe’s, and Pete & Peter’s all stay cracking til 2 a.m., brimming with locals and tourists alike. If you really want to go big, make the trip to Stateline and try the Hard Rock or Whiskey Dick’s Saloon.

Woman shares how the ‘bird test’ always determines if her relationships will last

Even with all the fancy apps and preference based algorithms, dating isn’t always easy. It’s a challenge to find true and lasting compatibility, and to know whether a person truly has your best interests at heart, or is simply on their best behavior.

But, people find their ways to navigate romance, nonetheless. Be it through a series of simple questions or hard-and-fast red flags, there are some modern-day strategies that can be used to filter out true potential partners.

The “Bird Test” is one of those strategies.

Though TikTokker Alyssa Caribardi doesn’t claim to have created the bird test, it’s something she “lives and dies by,” and she’s happy to give folks the rundown on what it is.

According to Caribardi, the bird test goes a little something like this: if you’re out and about with someone, and notice a bird, then point it out with enthusiasm, notice how the other person responds. If they mirror your “genuine curiosity” for this seemingly insignificant thing, “that’s a really good sign” the relationship will last a long time.

‘”It never fails,” Caribardi claims, adding that while this is primarily used for screening romantic relationships, it can be used for platonic ones as well, sharing that a woman who matched her excitement for a woodpecker outside a Starbucks became a close friend.

Watch below. Note that this video contains some curse words.

@alyssacardib

Bird test

♬ original sound – Lyss Lyss

As many viewers were quick to note, the bird test echoes what psychologist and renowned relationship expert John Gottman calls “bids for connection.”

Gottman says that bids for connections can be verbal or non verbal, and take on myriad tones, but all share the common goal of expressing “connect with me please!” to a partner. Everything from a playful wink to asking how a work meeting went would fall under this category.

Gottman also explains that repeated rejection of bids for connection spell disaster for relationships.

“When our partner denies our bids, we internalize the experience. Our brains subconsciously keep track of how many bids are accepted or rejected by our partners. When our partner constantly turns away or against our bids, we begin to feel frustrated. We are more inclined to criticize our partners, which pushes them to be defensive and may result in an argument,” he says, even going so far as to say that couples more often break up because of denied bids for connections than big fights or infidelity.

So, call it a bird test or a bid, the messaging remains the same, regardless of semantics. Relationships thrive when partners pay attention to each other’s interests, and turn towards those interests with the intention to create an emotional bond. Perhaps this is even more important than naturally shared passions.

In other words: if someone isn’t able to light up at seeing a woodpecker outside a Starbucks in the same way you do, maybe they’re not meant for you.

Woman’s sleep walking habits have people in tears from laughing at her sleeping antics

Let’s be honest, most folks have no idea what they’re doing in their sleep. Unless you’re tossing and turning, you’re blissfully unconscious for approximately six to eight hours if you’re lucky. You have no clue if you stole the covers from your partner to wrap up like a human burrito or if you sat up abruptly to do the Macarena because you were dreaming of dancing at a friend’s wedding.

Most people are likely doing nothing more exciting that snoring, drooling or accidentally backhanding their partner if they have one. There are some people that become chatter boxes when they’re sleeping whether its coherent sentences or jumbled nonsense. But there are those rare ones that not only want to chit chat while they snooze but get up to do things that they may consider strange.

A woman that goes by the name Celina SpookyBoo on TikTok recently posted a video of her own sleepwalking shenanigans and commenters can’t get enough.

In the video that has racked up over 28 million views, Celina sits up in bed with her eyes wide open while being recorded with a night vision camera. “There’s goats. There’s seven goats,” she says before getting completely out of bed and doing what appears to be some sort of Irish jig. Celina says several random phrases before laying down on a storage bench at the foot of her bed and saying, “I’ll have a grilled cheese, it’s fine.”

So many questions. Is she cooking the grilled cheese on the storage bench? Is someone else making her the tasty snack in her dream? It doesn’t stop there. At one point she appears to almost be acting out the famous scene from Hamlet before appearing from the door way to declare, “I am Chris Hanson.” You know, the guy from Dateline and To Catch a Predator. Commenters were amused by the random sleep walking activities.

“The little Irish step dancing is KILLING me,” someone writes with a laughing emoji.

“IMAGINE WAKING UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND YOU SEE SOMEONE STANDING COMPLETELY STILL AND THEY JUST SAY “It was the 11th of December,” one commenter says.

“How do you make so much sense and so little sense at the same time,” another person writes with a crying emoji.

Ex-Amish woman shares the ‘3 things’ that shock people about her former life

Leaving the Amish community to live in the outside world has to be a major shock. Overnight, one has to go from a world powered by horses and buggies to one ruled by technology.

Lizzie Ens, 36, left the Swartzentruber Amish community at 19 and has done a great job transitioning to a completely different lifestyle. She was able to get her high school diploma, become a certified health coach and founded Undiet Yourself.

She’s also become an influencer on TikTok with over 183,000 followers.

In a recent video, she looked back to her Amish past and revealed the “3 biggest things that shock people” about her Amish life.

@lizzieh_wellness

Always some of my top favorites to share that shocks people. 😝 #amishtiktok #examish #amishrenegade #breakingamish #amishlife #fyp #escapingamish #amishcountry

Her parents had 19 kids

“My parents have 19 kids, and within those 19 kids are three sets of twins and I’m a twin,” she revealed. “But not only that, my mom birthed all of these kids naturally.”

She had no social security number

“When I left, I had to go apply for a social security number and let’s not forget I had $20 to my name when I left,” Lizzie revealed.

She’s trilingual

“We are bilingual. Actually, we are trilingual,” Lizzie said. “Our first language is Pennsylvania Dutch, and then we learn German and English when we went to school.”

The Pennsylvania Dutch language is a Germanic dialect predominantly spoken by Amish and Mennonite communities, especially in Pennsylvania. Despite the name, it has no connection to the Dutch language. The term “Dutch” derives from “Deutsch,” denoting “German.” The dialect came to North America in the 17th and 18th centuries.
