PinkPantheress’ last full length project was her 2023 debut studio album, Heaven Knows. So, her supporters are more than ready for something new.

21 Savage’s DJ Marc B Is Going Viral For His Dreamville Festival 2025 Set, Which Was The Exact Opposite Of Savage

Overwhelmingly 21 Savage’s discography is plastered with parental advisory stickers and explicit language labels. But the “Redrum” rapper wouldn’t have it any other the way as his music is an unfiltered reflection of his upbringing.

Yesterday (April 5) Dreamville Festival 2025 attendees were expecting those gritty verses during 21 Savage’s headlining performance. However, they were not prepare for his DJ’s contrasting set.

In a now viral video (viewable here), users online are simultaneously impressed and confused by 21 Savage’s DJ and musical director Marc B’s warm-up playlist before his performance.

During the holdover, Marc B worked his way through songs such as fun.’s “We Are Young” featuring Janelle Monáe, Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” and Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the U.S.A.” Just like the festivalgoers in attendance, users online ate Marc’s set up.

Many even joked about how the blend of “pop bops” served as the perfect palate cleaner before 21 Savage’s hard-hitting records. Over on Instagram, Marc B responded to the growing chatter surrounding his set.

“Because Live Nation posted it I gotta be doing something right 🤝🏽,” he wrote. “S/O to Dreamville man. definitely brought the energy for Savage whole set 1000x better than what I expected 🗡💜🗡.”

21 Savage is huge fan of romantic R&B tunes. Maybe he also secretly enjoys dance-pop dancers.

J. Cole’s beloved Dreamville Festival is (sort of) coming to an end. Yesterday (April 5), the fifth and final installment (as festivalgoers know it) of the event took over Raleigh’s Dorothea Dix Park.

“Would you like a preview,” asked the final sign.

As the audience’s hype began to build, Bas appeared as an unreleased tune from the upcoming body of work played. Bas rapped the song’s retrospective verses to give supporters a lyrical preview of what’s to come. Continue below to view the tracklist and cover art shared to Apple Music.

AXE Ceremonia Festival 2025 has officially been suspended. Today (April 6) Mexico City’s rising annual event was slated to feature performances by Tyler The Creator, Massive Attack, Lil Yachty, and more.

However, over on the festival’s Instagram page it confirmed Mexican newspaper El Universal‘s tragic reports. According to the outlet, yesterday (April 5) a crane transporting a decorative metal object collapsed killing two people (photographers 26-year-old Miguel Angel Rojas, and 28-year-old Berenice Giles).

AXE Ceremonia Festival 2025 organizers have released a statement following the fatal incident. “With deep sadness, we confirm the passing of the two people who were injured during today’s incident,” wrote an AXE Ceremonia on Instagram. “We are deeply heartbroken by this loss. We are reaching out to their families to support them during this incredibly difficult time and to provide them with all our care and solidarity. The safety of our community has always been our priority, and we continue, as from the very beginning, to maintain close collaboration and complete transparency with the authorities. We will continue to share official updates about the event through our social media channels.”

The Miguel Hidalgo Mayor’s Office have addressed the deadly matter over on X (formerly Twitter). “The teams from the Miguel Hidalgo Government and Legal Affairs, along with the borough’s Civil Protection department and the Administrative Verification Institute of Mexico City, completed the inspection and placed suspension seals at the entrances to AXE Ceremonia in Bicentennial Park,” read the statement.

In a separate message (viewable here), the office announced it has launched a formal investigation into the matter.

‘The Masque Of The Red Death’: Everything To Know So Far About A24’s Edgar Allan Poe Adaptation Reportedly Starring Sydney Sweeney

sydney-sweeney-bk
Getty Image

Sydney Sweeney was always destined to have a big year. Big years, rather. Yet this year’s works-in-progress include her Christy Martin biopic, The Housemaid (currently filming), the final Euphoria season (supposedly for-sure filming this year), and Scandalous!, a movie directed by Colman Domingo.

Well, Sweeney reportedly has even more on her plate (she is “in talks,” at least) if she stars in a movie that Deadline reports “will shoot his year.” Let’s talk about the Edgar Allan Poe lore to come in The Masque Of The Red Death.

Plot

The film will (obviously) adapt Edgar Allan Poe’s same-named short story, but don’t expect a straight remake of the 1964’s The Masque of the Red Death (which was directed by Roger Corman with Vincent Price as Prince Prospero). Nor should we expect (to borrow words from our own Jessica Toomer on Netflix and Mike Flanagan’s The Fall Of The House of Usher series) this to be a “Death By: Radioactive Orgy” story about spoiled Pharma-heir Prospero Usher while he’s taunted by sexy Carla Gugino in a mask, although that was an entertaining take.

The A24 and Picturestart movie’s tone might not be too terribly different from the Flanagan treatment of Poe, however. As Deadline has revealed, A24 is undertaking “a wildly revisionist and darkly comedic take on the short story” that will be directed and written by Charlie Polinger. The Poe short story, of course, details Prince Prospero’s avoidance of the Red Death plague.

Although there are no clues yet on how the movie will be updated, Flanagan’s previous treatment of Prospero delivered cutting commentary on the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare as a billionaire’s business, and that’s precisely the type of contemporary twist that could work in a movie about the Red Death in our current age. Heck, that approach could even bypass a bunch of pandemic talk (because let’s face it, nobody wants to watch a movie about that topic) and revolve around classism instead.

I can only hope that Sweeney recycles this incredible mask for this movie.

Cast

Currently, Sweeney is the only reported cast member, but she would obviously headline, and if they filmed her in every role, nobody would be mad. After all (and as the saying goes), people would watch her read the phone book.

Release Date

With the project filming this year, we can look forward to a 2026 release.

Trailer

No filming yet = no trailer. But did you catch Sweeney’s scream-queen turn in Immaculate? Turn down the sound before watching this:

‘God Of War’: Everything To Know About Prime Video’s Video Game Adaptation, Including A Possible ‘Reacher’ Star In The Cast

god of war
Santa Monica Studio

Unlike movies based on video games, TV shows based on video games have been more hit than miss lately. There’s HBO’s The Last of Us, Peacock’s Twisted Metal, Prime Video’s Fallout, and Netflix’s Arcane and Castlevania: Nocturne; even Paramount+’s Knuckles was pretty fun.

The list of upcoming small-screen video game adaptations includes Mass Effect, a Ghost of Tsushima anime, and most intriguing of all, God of War.

Here’s everything we know about Prime Video’s God of War series, including plot details and the Reacher actor who would love to play Kratos.

Plot

There are two eras to Santa Monica Studio’s God of War video game franchise: the first is based on Greek mythology; the second, Norse mythology. The Prime Video series from Sony TV and Amazon MGM Studios will seemingly (although not definitively) focus on the latter. That unfortunately would skip Kratos teaming up with the Titans to climb Mount Olympus and kill Zeus, but it does mean we’ll meet Jörmungandr, Brok, and Freya.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. Here’s a general plot summary as established in 2018’s Game of the Year-winning God of War, via Deadline:

When his beloved wife dies, Kratos sets off on a dangerous journey with his estranged son to spread her ashes from the highest peak — her final wish. Kratos soon realizes the journey is an epic quest in disguise, one which will test the bonds between father and son, and force Kratos to battle new Gods and monsters for the fate of the world.

God of War is a father-son story… that also features some of the coolest monsters and gnarliest, head-ripping violence you’ve ever seen. It rules.

santa monica studios

The Prime Video show was originally entrusted to showrunner/executive producer Rafe Judkins and executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus, but they have since left the project “after completing multiple scripts for the first season.” Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald D. Moore has since stepped in as the new showrunner for God of War, and just like Tony Gilroy and Andor, he’s not familiar with the source material.

“The controllers now…” Moore, who hasn’t played video games since the 1980s, told Katee Sackhoff (BSG reunion!) on The Sackhoff Show with a laugh. “Press R1. Which one’s R1? Oh, I’m dead! I can’t quite get a hold of that.”

Hey, it worked for the best Star Wars show.

That’s all the confirmed details we have for God of War for now (other than Moore slipping that Prime Video has “ordered two seasons” of the show), but if you want to immerse yourself in the story of Kratos and “Boy,” I mean, Atreus, here’s the order to play the mainline games:

  • 2005’s God of War
  • 2007’s God of War II
  • 2010’s God of War III
  • 2018’s God of War
  • 2022’s God of War Ragnarök
    • You can play them here.

      Cast

Hm, God of War will need a big, strong man to portray Kratos. Why not cast the biggest, strongest man? 7′ 2″ actor/bodybuilder Olivier Richters, who played Paulie on Reacher, is interested. “Of course I want to be Kratos,” he told Screen Rant, “but I don’t believe they would ever pick me for Kratos. I’m just too darn big. But there is a God that’s bigger than Kratos, and that is Týr, or also Thor. I asked my agent, ‘You have to pursue this for me. Amazon now knows me. Can Paulie play in God of War?’ That’s one of my dream roles.”

If not Richters, then maybe Dave Bautista (sorry, Christopher Judge)?

      Release Date

Considering the cast hasn’t even been revealed yet and the massive amount of post-production involved, it’s going to be awhile.

      What’s Popular On Streaming Now

      noah-wyle-the-pitt-lg-1
      WBD/Max

Every single week, our TV and film experts will list the most important ten streaming selections for you to pop into your queues. We’re not strictly operating upon reviews or accrued streaming clicks (although yes, we’ve scoured the streaming site charts) but, instead, upon those selections that are really worth noticing amid the churning sea of content. There’s a lot out there, after all, and your time is valuable.

      10. The Life ListNetflix movie

Netflix and romcoms just go together like boxed wine and tissue dust. This story follows Alex Rose (Sofia Carson) at a crossroads following the death of her mother (Connie Britton), who pulls a bit of a P.S. I Love You by leaving directions for her daughter to accomplish the “life list” dreamed up by her teenage self. If she completes every task, then her inheritance shall arrive, and in the process (of course) self-discovery is an even greater boon. This journey includes choosing between dudes because obviously, and this movie probably would have starred Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey a few decades ago, if you’re into that sort of thing. Clearly, people are.

      9. Dying For Sex – FX series streaming on Hulu

With a title like Dying For Sex, people were bound to be curious, and the series delivers both bitingly funny and deadly serious goods while following Molly Kochan’s stories from the same-named podcast and Screw Cancer: Becoming Whole memoir. And although Molly is no longer of this mortal coil, her account on experiencing a sexual revolution following a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis will live on. Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, and Rob Delaney star.

      8. Kraven the Hunter – Sony movie streaming on Netflix

If you’re a completist and couldn’t resist curiosity concerning Morbius and Madame Web, then you’ll be pumped to know that the final Sony Spidey spin off is already part of a streaming package. Sony has stuck a fork in it, by the way, but Aaron Taylor-Johnson did what was possible here while surely thinking about 28 Years Later and whether those 007 dreams are still in reach.

      7. The BondsmanPrime Video/Amazon series

Kevin Bacon stars as a demon-hunting bounty hunter in this series that turns horror conventions on their heads. He portrays Hub Halloran, who rises from the grave with regrets involving love and lost musical dreams. Perhaps one of those missed goals is within his grasp, but he’ll have to keep the Devil satisfied while getting his country groove back on during spare moments. This show is a hellaciously fun time, and few people can say no to Bacon.

      6. MobLandParamount Plus series

Tom Hardy stars as the “handsome” and “dangerous” fixer for a gangster family (fronted by Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren) in this Guy Ritchie show that’s only getting started. This series presents London crime fams battling for power with part of the action taking place in the picturesque English Cotswolds. Both the characters and the dialogue will dabble in Shakespeare-esque elements with Paddy Considine here to Irish the joint up, too. Soon, Hardy will star in Netflix’s Havoc, so we can count ourselves lucky in the streaming realm even if he doesn’t surface in the Peaky Blinders movie.

      5. The StudioApple TV+ series

Dynamic streaming TV duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s executive producing success includes The Boys series and spin offs over on Prime Video/Amazon, but Rogen has been honing his own chops over on Apple TV+. There, he stars with Rose Byrne in the affable and raunchy Platonic, and his newest show packs in so many Hollywood cameos that it makes The Bear look like amateur hour. Also, Rogen is at his self-deprecating best while putting his own industry on (loving) blast. Highlights include Brian Cranston putting on his panic face while wardrobed like a certain exec. Stick around for the grossest zombie apocalypse, too.

      4. AdolescenceNetflix series

This series is going nowhere anytime soon after stoking difficult conversations on both sides of the pond about what went wrong with Jamie Miller. Co-creator and star Stephen Graham has suggested that more stories could arrive in a second season with a different focus, although Netflix has yet to officially announce a renewal. With 96 million “views” and counting, it feels like only a matter of time before news of an anthology arrives.

      3. The White Lotus – HBO series streaming on Max

Well, it’s season finale time, and for some reason, the episode will be 90 minutes long, which could add to the inertia that gripped much of this season. However, the drama did pick up a few weeks ago with too much “brotherly love,” and as is the custom with Mike White’s anthologized series, we will now find out who shall croak. For a season that White claimed would be heavily focused on death, the vibes been surprisingly mild other than foreshadowing, but you never know, everybody could go out after the gunshots that were previewed early on in the season. Ideally, Aimee Lou Wood’s Chelsea will be the sole participant to escape after already having a few brushes with bodily harm, and fingers are surely crossing for Patrick Schwartzenegger’s Saxon to be swallowed by his protein shake blender.

      2. ReacherPrime Video/Amazon series

Move over, Big Guy. You defeated the Bigger Guy and had your true feelings on “Big Guys” illuminated in the third season finale, but soon, Neagley will have more time in the spotlight with a spin off series. The flagship show recaptured momentum after losing a bit in the second round, and more importantly, Reacher teed up the best friend who makes things happen behind the scenes. To get the next party started, Alan Ritchson will join Maria Sten in the offshoot before Reacher wanders away to his next adventure.

      1. The PittMax series

Noah Wyle has been going through it as Dr. Robby with panic-attack fuel aplenty. Do not worry, however, because we already know that the ER veteran will return for another shift in a show that toasts to his status as medical-scrubs royalty on TV. Max made no secret of wanting to capture the Grey’s Anatomy-type of loyal audience for a show aimed at longevity, and the show has convincingly pulled off the 15-hour hell shift to such a degree that the audience is growing weekly. Word of mouth is a rare feat these days, but when that hits, hoo boy, watch out.

Mariah Carey Lovingly Crashed Her Son Roc’s Livestream, Which Sent His Viewers Into A Frenzy

Atop the list of parenting rules is providing a child with unconditional love. But just underneath that in fine print is unintentional embarrass them in front of their friends. The other day Mariah Carey simultaneously managed to do both.

During the “Always Be My Baby” singer’s son, Moroccan’s Twitch livestream (viewable here), Carey decided to drop in to greet his viewers. In all fairness, Roc did invite her in.

“Wanna come here, Mom,” Roc politely asked with his twin sister Monroe by his side.

However, once Carey appeared on camera, Roc realized he wasn’t prepared for viewers’ reactions. Immediately after entering the frame, Roc’s friends began to yell “Hi, Mrs. Carey.”

Shortly, after the chat chimed in with a swarm of comments for him to read to his mother. “They’re saying ‘Hi Mariah, I love you’–oh my God,” Roc read.

Eventually, he came to be too much for him. After tucking his face into his hands, Roc shouted: “Get out of my room.”

Both Carey and his sister obliged his request. Occasionally, Carey will post or appear in videos with “Dem Babies” online. Sometimes she’ll even have her children accompany her to industry events (most recently the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2025). But given her apprehension about being famous she tries to shield Moroccan and Monroe from the limelight.

Normani Says She Heard Fans’ Pleads For ‘Dopamine’ Visuals, And Confirmed They Are Indeed ‘Coming’

After numerous delays, last year Normani released her long-anticipated solo debut studio album, Dopamine. Still, Normani hasn’t taken her act on the road for a supporting tour or released any official visuals.

But during her recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Normani ensured that she’s not done with the project just yet. When asked about the possibility of a Dopamine deluxe album, Normani confirmed visuals were on the way.

“[My team and I have] been talking about [a deluxe album],” she said. “[But] I got the visuals coming as well. I hear y’all.”

Normani did not tease which of the Dopamine tracks will receive a video treatment. Supporters are hoping Normani starts with one of the singles (“1:59” featuring Gunna, “Candy Paint,” “All Yours“).

Earlier in the sit-down Normani expressed her pride over the project.

“I know I probably look crazy from an outside perspective,” she said. “But I’ve always wanted this body of work to represent me and my authenticity. I knew what it felt like to be handed records. Being told what your role is within the entity of this thing. So, I really want the opportunity to just be able to do things to the beat of my own drum.”

She continued: “I’m proud of what I put out. I didn’t want to have any regret in that. So, it was worth it in the end.”

Watch Normani’s appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show above.
