75-year-old ‘hip-hop granny’ impresses and inspires with her dance moves

Stephanie Walsh isn’t your average hip-hop dancer. At 75, “Ms. Stephanie” is still able to hold her own on the dance floor, popping and locking with people a third her age, and she loves it.

When you see her dance—and her enviable muscle tone—you might think she’d been a trained dancer all her life. But she actually didn’t take any formal dance lessons until she was almost 30.

Walsh told Growing Bolder that she had wanted her daughter to dance when she was little, so she got her ballet lessons, which the daughter hated. Realizing that dancing was her dream and not her daughter’s, Walsh took her kiddo out of ballet and started classes herself right away.

She had always loved to dance and developing her skills only led to more and more dancing.

These days, Ms. Stephanie gets her dance moves on at Fusion Fitness, where she encourages people to “dance like EVERYONE is watching.” One video of her dancing at Fusion has gone viral multiple times, and it’s easy to see why. Check this out:

It’s not just the dancing. It’s the intensity. It’s the full presence in the moment in her face and in her movements. She’s there for it, and she brings everybody with her.

“It’s the “I’m a badass” facial expression for me! ☺️” wrote one commenter on Facebook.

“I dislocated my shoulder just watching that 🤣🤣👌🏼” shared another.

“She can throw it back like the rest of them. You go girl!” shared another.

Walsh shared that dancing has helped her get through many difficult periods in her life. Watch her share her story:

Love it when people prove that age truly is just a number.

Austin Butler Says His New ‘Bikeriders’ Co-Star Tom Hardy Is A Lot Like Marlon Brando

Marlon Brando is considered one of the greatest actors of all-time. But did The Godfather legend ever jump into a tank and start munching on a lobster? Actually, that sounds like something he would do. Maybe even in real life. But the point is: there’s no proof that it happened, unlike Tom Hardy in Venom.

Therefore, Hardy > Brando. Or at least they’re similar actors, according to Hardy’s The Bikeriders co-star Austin Butler.

“Tom Hardy surprised me,” the Elvis actor told Josh Brolin in a discussion for Interview magazine. “I pictured him to be this grizzly bear, always serious. And really, he’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. He’d be joking around until action is called, and then go into being the most intense guy I’d ever seen. It reminds me of the stories I heard of Brando, talking to the camera operator until the moment action is called.”

Butler learned a lot from working with Hardy. “It reminds me of you, where you can be in that relaxed place where you’re receptive to your environment, and then when the time comes, you can click into what the scene demands,” he said. “That one was also great because I had a couple of weeks off from Dune. I went back, and just started training on the motorcycles every day.”

Butler’s 2023 began with an Oscar nomination and was supposed to end with starring roles in Dune: Part Two and The Bikeriders, but the former has been pushed to 2024, and the latter was set for a December release but has since been shelved due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

Britney Spears Is Finally Opening Up About Her Intense Two-Week Romantic ‘Brawl’ With Colin Farrell

At this point, we all know what a rebound relationship is, but when it happens between two high-profile people, things start to get a little complex. Let’s travel back 20 years to the premiere of The Recruit, an Al Pacino film that also starred a young Colin Farrell, years before he befriended Jenny the Donkey.

At the time, Farrell made headlines for showing up to the premiere with pop star Britney Spears, who was still reeling from her publicized breakup with troll Justin Timberlake. While Farrell said they were “just mates” (so Irish!), Spears hadn’t spoken out about the relationship… until now.

Spears called their two-week fling a “brawl” in a new excerpt from her memoir, per TIME. She wrote, “Brawl is the only word for it—we were all over each other, grappling so passionately it was like we were in a street fight,” Spears and Timberlake had just broken up and the singer was still dealing with her post-breakup life. She continued, “As I had before when I’d felt too attached to a man, I tried to convince myself in every way that it was not a big deal, that we were just having fun, that in this case, I was vulnerable because I wasn’t over Justin yet.”

Though Farrell and Spears didn’t date for too long, there was a moment when the singer thought it could have been the real thing. She added, “For a brief moment in time, I did think there could be something there. The disappointments in my romantic life were just one part of how isolated I became. I felt so awkward all the time.” The duo seemed to have fizzled out after that. And now Farrell is off being a Batman villain lurking in the shadows. It’s funny how things work out.

Spears’ memoir The Woman In Me hits shelves on October 24th.

Yung Bleu Was Arrested For Battery After Allegedly Body-Slamming A Woman

Alabama rapper Yung Bleu was arrested in Georgia for misdemeanor battery on Sunday, according to TMZ. The 29-year-old rapper, who is best known for his collaboration with Drake on his breakout song “You’re Mines Still” and recently collaborated with Nicki Minaj on “Love In The Way,” was booked into the Hall County Jail early Sunday morning and released after posting $2,400 bond.

The arrest stems from a 911 call from a woman who told responding officers that Bleu (whose real name is Jeremy Biddle) had picked her up and thrown her to the ground during an argument over the custody of a 10-year-old child. Biddle had arrived unannounced with the intent to take the child with him, but the ensuing argument and body slam from the rapper left the woman with injuries to her right arm and hip. She refused transport to the hospital, although she was examined by EMTs.

Bleu released his third studio album, Love Scars II, in April this year, but was forced to cancel the tour promoting it after only a handful of shows. On Instagram, he wrote: ” I sincerely apologize to every fan I disappointed. when things like this happen the only person to blame is “The Artist” so I accept it.”

College Football Week 8 Watch Guide: Separator Saturday

As we enter the second half of the college football season, we are starting to get a clearer picture of who the contenders are across the country, but still are waiting for some key tests to determine who will have a shot at conference and national titles later this year. We’ll get some answers to those questions this weekend, as the midseason version of rivalry week in college football provides us with some very intriguing matchups that will have major implications on title races.

Penn State (+4.5) at Ohio State, 12:00 p.m. ET (FOX)

The game of the day will be on Big Noon in Columbus as two of the three undefeateds in the Big Ten East will meet in a very important game for the Big Ten and national title race. The Nittany Lions have been a buzzsaw this season, but also have not been really tested yet, especially on the road. Their two toughest games on paper came at home in Happy Valley, where they dominated West Virginia and Iowa, and the Buckeyes represent a considerable step up in talent from those two teams. That said, Penn State’s defense is a hellacious group and this year’s Ohio State squad has some real questions on offense. Notre Dame stymied them by applying pressure to QB Kyle McCord and making it difficult to move the ball on the ground, and while the passing game has come around some of late, it’s likewise been against lesser competition.

On the other side of the ball, Ohio State’s been great again this year on defense and Drew Allar and the Penn State offense will have their biggest test by far. To this point, Penn State has not had to fully unleash their downfield passing attack to put points on the board, but Ohio State figures to dare James Franklin to open things up with Allar and see if the young QB can make big plays for Penn State without making a big mistake on the road. Of the two teams, Ohio State is the one that’s faced the stiffest test this year and won, but that was in part due to Notre Dame’s insistence on shooting itself in the foot on the final drive. I would expect both teams to play fairly conservatively, as both know turnovers and mistakes could swing this game, but I think the team that can overcome that conservative instinct and create a couple of explosive plays on offense will be the one that comes out on top.

UCF (+17.5) at Oklahoma, 12:00 p.m. ET (ABC)

Oklahoma just got a resounding win over their rival Texas and now welcomes in a UCF squad that’s lost three straight and can’t buy a stop on defense. The Sooners absolutely could do what they’re supposed to here and blow the doors off of the Knights, but this spot raises a lot of red flags for me. It would be real easy for Oklahoma to sleepwalk into this one and suddenly find itself in a dogfight with an undermanned UCF squad, so I’d at least keep an eye on the scoreboard here and be ready to activate a second screen if this one gets interesting.

Minnesota (+3.5) at Iowa, 3:30 p.m. ET (NBC)

Have you ever wanted to watch two teams that are allergic to moving the football play for a giant bronze pig? Of course you have. This battle for the Floyd of Rosedale currently has the lowest point total (30.5) in college football history and it might get lower by the time we reach kickoff. Sure, you could watch a game with two competent offenses and “points” being scored, but this is history right here. This is Big Ten West football at its finest in the final year of the division. People always talk about back-and-forth shootouts being “exciting” football, where the last team with possession wins the game. Nah, nah. Real excitement is watching a game where the team that’s on offense is the least likely to score and they’re mostly just trying to survive three downs until they can punt and get their real scoring unit (the defense) back on the field.

Tennessee (+8.5) at Alabama, 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS)

If you aren’t cultured enough to appreciate Minnesota-Iowa, then you’ll probably be over on CBS for Tennessee-Alabama. The Tide will be looking for some revenge after last year’s classic in Knoxville, but these are two very different teams from a year ago. Alabama had some well-documented early season struggles, but they are starting to find a little something, as Nick Saban gets back to his roots of having his team play mean as hell defense while the offense, mostly, exists to run the dang ball and occasionally let Jalen Milroe rip a 50-yard bomb downfield. Tennessee, meanwhile, hasn’t found the same consistent explosiveness with Joe Milton taking over for Hendon Hooker, as they’re still capable of rolling up points, but also go through serious cold spells. That doomed them against Florida on the road, and Milton will face an even bigger test in Tuscaloosa. He’ll have to be at his best for the Vols to go back-to-back against Alabama for the first time in two decades, but the Tide certainly aren’t operating at their peak either. If Tennessee can find a way to move it consistently and force Alabama to open up the passing game, that’s the formula for beating the Tide this season. If not, Alabama will be very happy to slow things down and lean on Tennessee for four quarters.

Washington State (+20.5) at Oregon, 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC)

Once again, if the possibility of a defensive struggle offends you, then you can go to ABC for Wazzu-Oregon. The Ducks are looking to bounce back from a gutting loss to rival Washington last week and welcome in a Cougars team that started the season hot but have been leaky of late. Cam Ward is gonna need to find his early season magic if they’re gonna have a chance to keep this competitive, but if he can get in rhythm, this could go up-and-down in a track meet with Bo Nix and the Ducks.

Texas Tech (-3) at BYU, 7:00 p.m. ET (FS1)

The chances for shenanigans in this game are off the charts. I know there’s some big games in the night slate that have much greater impact overall, but given the way these two teams have played this year, I fully expect this to feature something incredibly funny/dumb/incredible in the fourth quarter.

Ole Miss (-6.5) at Auburn, 7:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)

Same principle as above, really. Ole Miss just cannot be normal at any given time and this game is on the Plains where weird stuff tends to happen. Add in the fact that Auburn is coached by Ole Miss’ former coach who was fired amid multiple scandals and you can pencil in something very strange happening that infuriates one of these fan bases.

Duke (+14.5) at Florida State, 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC)

Without Riley Leonard there’s not as much excitement here, but Duke’s defense is legit and I’m genuinely excited to see how they fare going up against the best athletes they’ve faced yet, headlined by Keon Coleman. Florida State should eventually outlast the Blue Devils and pull away, but at least in the first half this could be an entertaining watch.

Michigan (-24.5) at Michigan State, 7:30 p.m. ET (NBC)

Michigan is a gigantic favorite with real national title hopes (and is suddenly dealing with a sign-stealing scandal) in East Lansing against a pretty bad Michigan State team. Surely that will go all according to plan.

Utah (+7) at USC, 8:00 p.m. ET (FOX)

USC got straight up punked last week by Notre Dame and now get to face a defense that’s equally tough to play against in Utah. The Utes offense is not good, especially on the road, but the defense is nasty as always and Kyle Whittingham’s goal in life is to make life miserable for other Pac-12 teams. We’ll see if Caleb Williams has a bounce back performance in him or if the book is out on how to slow him and the Trojans down by applying pressure and poking holes in the USC offensive line. There are a lot of potential outcomes to this game and all of them are pretty fascinating, whether that’s a huge game for Williams to get his stock back up or the beginning of a USC slide that raises some questions in L.A.

Clemson (-3) at Miami, 8:00 p.m. ET (ACC Network)

Two talented teams that love shooting themselves in the foot in key moments playing against each other is one of my favorite types of college football games. Clemson just ain’t Clemson right now, but Miami is also spiraling and if they can’t get right here and find the spark to show up at home against the weakest Clemson team in a decade, hoo boy, it might not be good for Mario.

Georgia State (+3.5) at Louisiana, 8:00 p.m. ET (ESPNU)

It’s a crowded night slate, but if those 7:30 games get out of hand like they’re supposed to, may I suggest taking a trip down to the Sun Belt where we’ve got a good one at Cajun Field in Lafayette. Georgia State has been rolling this season as one of the biggest surprises in the country, as they were not supposed to be good but are currently 5-1 and only sit behind James Madison in the standings. Darren Grainger is a really fun dual-threat QB and when they aren’t facing an elite defense (like Troy who shut them out), they tend to get up and down and put lots of points on the board. The Cajuns, meanwhile, can put up points in bunches themselves, led by Zeon Chriss (which, as an aside, is a sensational QB name) who likewise will get it done through the air and on the ground. I think this could be a really fun game and I’ve been a little afraid to draw attention to my Panthers out of fear this was a mirage, but I think they’re just a solid team and might go blow-for-blow in a shootout with the Cajuns.

‘Gen V’ Season 1 Episode 6 Recap: Ranking The Most WTF Moments

Warning: Spoilers for ‘Gen V’ episode six are below.

Gen V just revealed its endgame and boy, is the superhero community in trouble.

In episode six’s “Jumanji,” the group takes an unwelcome trip down Cate’s memory lane, navigating mind-wiping potholes and more than a few shocking revelations as they work to forgive her of her many trespasses and get the hell out of her head. Meanwhile, Sam and Emma reconnect in the strangest way possible while Dean Shetty enacts her ultimate evil plan — to give every supe a deadly case of chicken pox.

Here is where our f*cked up leaderboard sits after episode three.

6. Muppet Sex

Like man’s capacity for violence and the growing cost of ethically sourced avocados, Gen V’s appetite for weird, kinky sex scenes should not shock us at this point. We’ve witnessed cocksplosions, orgasmic marathons via human vibrators, and size differentials that defy the laws of nature – a woman turning into a Muppet mid-coitus is pretty on brand. It’s also a real mood killer, not for Sam or Emma who seem to enjoy their hook-up despite the doll transmutations, but certainly for us.

5. The Return Of Golden Boy

Luke Riordan’s blaze of glory going out party happened too soon in the season, so it was nice to get a glimpse of Golden Boy again – even if it’s just a figment of Cate’s collapsing psyche. His problems with Brink apparently ran deep, as did his knowledge of Andre’s sextracurricular activist with his girlfriend.

4. Cate’s Past

When it comes to misunderstood superheroes, there’s Wanda Maximoff, Cate Dunlap, and then everybody else. As her brain implodes, her friends are treated to a greatest hits montage of the most depressing, self-esteem-destroying moments in her young life. Her brother’s disappearance, her mother’s fear, abuse, and imprisonment, and Dean Shetty’s manipulation when she was at her lowest all play on a loop. It doesn’t absolve Cate of her role in what’s happened, but it does entitle her to go full Scarlet Witch in the Multiverse of Madness on Godolkin University and its crooked staff.

3. Jordan’s Betrayal

Jordan’s been reckoning with their duality all season long but when Cate’s memories hold a mirror to their own, the source of their inner conflict becomes clear. This is a gender-fluid supe raised to be extraordinary who constantly felt like they were disappointing the adults in their life because of their inability to exist in a binary construct. They’re a coward for helping Brink to sedate and irate Golden Boy, and they’re an opportunist for using the situation to advance their ranking at Godolkin, but when the nurturing is that emotionally abusive for that long, the nature just isn’t going to win out.

2. That Soldier Boy Cameo

The only thing better than witnessing a gruff-voiced Jensen Ackles return in a Soldier Boy costume is finding out just what the hell he’s doing in this episode of Gen V. As Cate’s imaginary boyfriend, he could be a guide to the group who are desperate to escape the crumbling ruins of her mind but, in true Soldier Boy fashion, he’s more concerned with making sure the f*cknuts appreciate his wide catalog of sex terms. “Diddle that skittle.” “Flick the bean.” “Find the man in the canoe.” However you want to put it, it was Soldier Boy who ushered in Cate’s sexual awakening and don’t you forget it. (Well, Soldier Boy, and the Jonas Brothers.)

1. Dean Shetty’s Endgame

Dean Shetty has been quietly puppeteering much of the chaos the students have been sorting through this season but “Jumanji” we finally understand the reason why: she wants to kill all supes. Her work in The Woods, her manipulation of Marie, maybe even her experiments on Sam and Golden Boy – they’re all in service of a greater purpose, to rid the world of super-powered individuals via a genetically modified plague that leaves them boiled, blistered, and very, very dead. If only we could look to pop culture history to see how epidemic-engineering scientists hoping to eradicate a particular species had fared.

How Taylor Sheridan’s Conflict With A ‘Jerk Business Affairs Attorney’ Led Him Away From ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ And Towards ‘Yellowstone’

The Yellowstone stable of shows sits in an unusual, somewhat ambiguous place at the moment, even as Peacock and CBS reap the benefits of reruns. Granted, Taylor Sheridan has many other shows on his current roster, and 1923 will be going strong for a second season, at least. That’s great news for those who love Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren together, but what else will happen for Dutton soap-opera addicts? 6666 is in the works and will bring us the stories of the cowboys who work at the 6666 Ranch in Texas. Obviously, these will be fictionalized and soap-opera-esque stories, although Sheridan does now own the legendary real-life ranch in question. As well, the back end of Yellowstone Season 5 will (eventually) conclude the flagship series while spinoff-mode continues.

The future is bright for Sheridan-land, but it’s also worth looking back on how he got here. The prolific writer and former actor previously told us how he “became fascinated with the development of story” during his time on Sons Of Anarchy, in which he “was friends with a number of the writers on that show.” Sheridan, of course, portrayed Deputy Hale, who was the more straight-nosed cop of the department, although he was found to have that nose in certain ATF-related places (under a desk) at times. Still, this was a gig that was not destined to last for the show’s full run.

Deputy Hale ended up unequivocally dead in Season 3 during Half Sack’s wake (RIP) when he got trounced by a van (RIP) during what was essentially a funeral shootout. This, as Sheridan told The Hollywood Reporter over the summer, was a “f*ck-you car crash.” He made this point in relation to how Kevin Costner’s John Dutton would be leaving the show, but it’s also worth digging a bit further into that SOA conflict. As part of Deadline’s “Disruptors” series, Mike Fleming once reported how Sheridan realized that he needed to leave Sons Of Anarchy after an attorney allegedly belittled him and said that being “11 on the call sheet” is “all he’s ever going to be.” Oh boy:

“When my attorney said, ‘Look, there are kids on the Cartoon Network making more than you’re offering this guy,’ this jerk business affairs attorney goes, ‘He probably deserves to make more, but we’re not going to pay him more, because guess what? He’s not worth more. There are 50 of him. He is 11 on the call sheet. That’s what that guy is and that’s all he’s ever going to be,’” Sheridan recalls. “That’s really when I quit [because] that’s how the business saw me: ‘Let’s replace him with someone cheaper.’ And I decided that I didn’t want to be 11 on the call sheet for the rest of my life.”

Well, Taylor Sheridan certainly managed to prove that he’s no longer low on a call sheet. In fact, he went on to pen Sicario and Hell Or High Water, which put him on the path he’s on now — in league with Shonda Rhimes and Ryan Murphy in terms of TV empires and being able to gleefully create whatever he wants at will and get it greenlit. And hey, there was obviously a vacancy in the cowboy-content market that Sheridan was particularly well-suited to fill.

At the time of his SOA departure, Sheridan did stay diplomatic on Deputy Hale’s death. The now TV king then declared to the LA Times, “As far as deaths on that show go, it was about as merciful as I can remember.” He also added, “It was fitting to Hale that he went out in battle without any regard or awareness.”

And the rest was glorious, horse-wrangling history for Taylor Sheridan.

Will ‘The Nun II’ Be Streaming In Time For Halloween?

The Conjuring franchise has been expanding for some time, and nine movies in, it seems like they have finally found their groove in the form of a demonic nun. Catholic guilt is really a driving factor in cinema these days.

The Nun II is the sequel to 2018’s horror film The Nun starring Taissa Farmiga, Demián Bichir and Jonas Bloquet, and Bonnie Aarons. The movie takes the spooky nun that was first introduced in The Conjuring 2, so you see how these all connect right? Not only that, but The Conjuring stars Taissa’s sister Vera Farmiga, so it’s a whole family affair.

The sequel hit theaters in September and takes place in 1956, four years after the events of The Nun took place. It follows Farmiga as Sister Irene who must stop the spooky nun from possessing a bunch of boarding school kids. Again!!

The Nun II is currently available on Amazon Prime for purchase or rental, but if you’re not that committed yet, you can stream the sequel on Max beginning on October 27th. It will be available just in time to be playing in the background of whatever Halloween shindig you’re going to. Even if that shindig is just you alone in your house afraid that there might be demonic nuns outside your window waiting to take you. These are normal thoughts.

How To Get Free Dave’s Hot Chicken On Drake’s Birthday

Drake’s birthday is coming up and for the second year in a row, Mr. October’s Very Own is giving fans the gift of free food via the Dave’s Hot Chicken chain (in which Drake is an investor). The chicken chain, which started in California but has since expanded to Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New York, and more, has quickly become a fast food favorite, and Drake’s involvement has certainly been at least a factor in its growing popularity (check out Uproxx’s rating of their sandwiches here).

How To Get Free Dave’s Hot Chicken On Drake’s Birthday

On Monday, October 24, you can get a Dave’s Hot Chicken slider or tender at every Dave’s Hot Chicken from 11 am to 9 pm local time. You’ll just need to download the Dave’s Hot Chicken app and scan it at the counter. Unfortunately, you will have to go to the restaurant, as this offer isn’t available online or through third-party delivery apps like DoorDash, GrubHub, or Uber Eats.

It’s probably fair to say that Drake’s had a pretty solid year since last October 24, when he turned 36. He had a highly successful tour with 21 Savage, dropped another album, For All The Dogs, and even released a book of poetry. So what will he do for his 37th year? Take a break, apparently. He’s certainly earned one.

Why Is Jon Stewart’s Apple TV Show Ending, And What Could This Mean For ‘The Daily Show?’

Jon Stewart fans got a hefty helping of bad news on Thursday. The comedian’s new series, The Problem with Jon Stewart, will not be moving forward with its third season. The show strived to do something than Stewart’s old gig at The Daily Show by taking a deeper dive into singular topics and only releasing episodes once every two weeks. While that approach took a while to catch on, The Problem did break through the cultural zeitgeist in its second season thanks to Stewart’s unrelenting interview style where he pushed back on anti-trans and pro-gun legislators.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, both Apple and Stewart had agreed to a more aggressive weekly episode drop for the third season. However, things went south when Apple started voicing concerns over the show tackling China and AI, which prompted Stewart to walk:

Sources tell THR that there had been tension between Apple and Stewart ahead of the show’s third season return over topics featured on The Problem. Those same sources note that Apple approached Stewart and informed the host that both sides needed to be “aligned” regarding topics on the show. Stewart, sources say, balked at the idea of being “hamstrung” by Apple, which threatened to cancel the series. Stewart, sources say, wanted to have full creative control of the series and, after Apple threatened to cancel the series, told the tech company that he was walking away from the show rather than have his hands tied.

Naturally, Stewart fans can’t help but notice the timing of the comedian walking away from The Problem. For the past few weeks, The Daily Show has been publicly having issues settling upon a new permanent host to replace Trevor Noah, and look who just became available.

Of course, it should be noted that The Daily Show has been looking for a new host for an entire year now. The timing of Stewart leaving The Problem is almost definitely a coincidence.

That being said, is there a chance Stewart could come back to The Daily Show? Sure, anything is possible, but the comedian has repeatedly stated his intentions to do something different after feeling worn out by the grind of four episodes a week. We wouldn’t recommend holding your breath.
