Brian Daboll Threw A Tablet After Talking To Daniel Jones About His Pick Six

The New York Giants entered Monday evening’s matchup with the Seattle Seahawks sporting a 1-2 record that was much closer to 0-3 than 2-1. New York was walloped by both the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers in the first three weeks, and the Giants needed a massive comeback to pick up a close-fought win over the Arizona Cardinals. However, the Giants were at home in Week 4 and, for the most part, the team’s defense performed quite well to begin the night against the Seahawks. It did not matter much, though, as the offense floundered and frustration built for Giants head coach Brian Daboll.

With the Giants already trailing 14-3 in part due to a Daniel Jones fumble in the first half, New York attempted to get back into the game in a goal-to-go situation late in the third quarter. Rather than punching it in, Jones uncorked a brutal pick six that effectively ended the game.

Though Jones was far from the only issue, his two turnovers were magnified and, with the Giants repeatedly yielding sacks, it felt as if the sky was falling for the team’s offense. Daboll expressed that dismay by flinging a tablet after speaking to Jones following the back-breaking turnover.

For good measure, Jones threw yet another interception on the next drive, leading directly to another Seahawks scoring possession that extended the margin. Though it is fair to note that Saquon Barkley is injured and New York’s wide receiver room remains thoroughly uninspiring, it was an ugly, ugly night for Jones and the offense, and the tablet heave was a microcosm.

When Will ‘Expend4bles’ Be On Streaming?

When the Expendables franchise returned after a nine-year hiatus, it wasn’t exactly met with open arms. The fourquel opened weakly and still managed to lose nearly 70% of its audience by its second weekend. That doesn’t mean it won’t ever find an audience. Lots of movies live on in the comfort of people’s homes. In fact, when is Expend4bles, aka The Expendables 4, hitting streaming?

It’s a complicated question. Right now Lionsgate, who distributed the it, has not released a streaming date. But if one goes by how the studio has handled other films, you can get ballpark idea. Per Decider, their Lizzy Caplan horror thriller Cobweb was released in theaters on July 21 — the same day as “Barbenheimer,” though tragically no one lumped it in with that dynamic duo. On August 11, it was available to rent or purchase.

But when will it be available as part of a streamer’s package? Digital Trends looked at John Wick: Chapter 4, which came out in March and is currently exclusively streaming on Starz, which is owned by Lionsgate. In other words, if you’re not a Starz subscriber and you don’t want to fork over for a rental or purchase fee, you’re not going to see Expend4bles on a non-Starz streamer until at least mid-2024.

Or you could go see Expend4bles in theaters, while it’s still playing.

Will Ferrell Roasts Eli Manning’s Horrific Will Ferrell Impression

Will Ferrell has been pretty good at impersonating people over the course of his career. As such, you would think that he’s a pretty good judge of how good an impression is, and you would think that he’s really good at judging an impression that someone does of himself.

All of this is basically to say that there is no human on earth who is more well equipped to judge how good of a job Eli Manning did when he busted out Ferrell’s most famous line from his brief cameo in the movie Wedding Crashers. Ferrell joined Peyton and Eli on Monday night’s edition of the Manningcast, and Peyton was awfully excited to show the video of his brother screaming “MA, MEATLOAF” and get Ferrell’s thoughts.

“It’s probably about a, I’ll say like a 1.1,” Ferrell said. “I mean, 1 for effort, 1 for giving it a shot. It’s definitely not a 2.”

Ferrell made it a point to get into the art of acting, and how Manning could have made this much better.

“It was great context, timing was good,” Ferrell said. “You rushed it a little bit, and it’s supposed to be … you gotta have a little more, you gotta use your diaphragm. There’s some rage behind it. This guy had some rage, so it was more like, ‘MA, MEATLOAF.’”

Eli then tried his best with some coaching from Ferrell, and while he started moving in the right direction, I’ll be honest: It could have been better.

Robin Williams’ Daughter Is Not Cool With People Using AI To Make ‘Personally Disturbing’ Imitations Of Her Late Father

We’re currently in an awkward, troubling spot when it comes to artificial intelligence. The rapidly evolving tech has its upsides, but also many disturbing downsides. AI regulation was even a key concern during the WGA strike, and ditto the ongoing SAG-AFTRA one. Actors are rightly worried about unlicensed imitations. Tom Hanks recently called out an AI video that ripped his likeness. Meanwhile Robin Williams’ daughter had a similar gripe.

As per IndieWire, Zelda Williams, who is also a performer, used her Instagram Stories to talk about who AI had become a “horrendous Frankensteinian monster” that impersonates celebrities, including her late father, who died in 2014.

“I am not an impartial voice in SAG’s fight against AI. I’ve witnessed for YEARS how many people want to train these models to create/recreate actors who cannot consent, like Dad,” wrote Zelda. “This isn’t theoretical, it is very, very real. I’ve already heard AI used to get his ‘voice’ to say whatever people want and while I find it personally disturbing, the ramifications go beyond my own feelings.”

She added, “Living actors deserve a chance to create characters with their choices, to voice cartoons, to put their HUMAN effort and time into the pursuit of performance. These recreations are, at their very best, a poor facsimile of greater people, but at their worst, a horrendous Frankensteinian monster, cobbled together from the worst bits of everything this industry is, instead of what it should stand for.”

Williams joins a growing throng of actors who’ve called out AI for its dangerous possibilities. Earlier this year no less than Keanu Reeves reflected on how AI and similar tech like deepfakes are “scary.” It’s probably wise to listen to someone who starred in a franchise about computers enslaving humans.

Woman’s explanation of ‘girl math’ has some scratching their heads while others nod along

If you’ve been on any social media platform lately then you’ve likely heard about the different types of math. No not the one that makes 80s babies cry (otherwise known as common core), but the silly “math” like “boy math” or “girl math.” Each explanation more ridiculous than the next while some take on a more serious tone, it’s the silly ones that keep people wanting more.

Kelley Lorraine posted a video of her sitting in the car with her husband as she tries to explain “girl math” to him. It didn’t take long for him to express confusion, many times interjecting with questions and audible noises of disproval. What was interesting to me was that everything she said made perfect sense…as long as you don’t think about it too much.

Kelley’s version of “girl math” had to be one of the most oxymoronic-nonsensical-logical reasoning that’s ever been explained for this “math” challenge.

“If I pay with cash it’s free…because it’s already left the bank account. So the money’s already gone,” Kelley says.

Ten seconds into the explanation and her husband is already staring at her like she’s sprouted three additional heads all at once.

“I don’t think that’s how things work, Kelley,” her husband responds while attempting to control his facial expressions.

When needing to return an item, Kelley explains that if she returns something worth $60 and exchanges it for something worth $50, then in her head she’s only spent $10. It’s at this point her husband looks dismayed because to him, the math just isn’t mathing. But to Kelly and some women in the comments, “girl math” makes perfect sense.

“Most of it is also how I think,” one person writes.

“This is hilarious, I was finishing her sentences! I thought this was normal logic for all people lol,” one woman says.

“This is how I do math and I think it probably explains why I’m broke all the time,” another woman admits.

“Let’s make girl math a high school class… I’d get a 4.0 for the first time in my life!!!,” someone writes.

Well, judging by the amount of women adamantly agreeing with this version of “girl math” it seems fairly accurate. Obviously, use this math at your own risk because results may vary wildly.

You too can be just as confused as Kelley’s husband by watching her explain “girl math” below.

Jimmy Carter’s former talent handler shares a sweet story about him meeting a young girl

Jimmy Carter turned 99 years old on October 1, 2023, with people from around the world paying tribute to the longest-living former president. Carter has been in hospice for the past 7 months, and as he nears the end of his long life, people are sharing their personal stories involving the man known for his decades of humanitarian, peace-building work after leaving the White House.

One story comes from Noel Casler, a comedian and talent handler who has worked with many celebrities and public figures. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to share an encounter he witnessed between Jimmy Carter and a young girl at the Goodwill Games.

“When I was Prez Carter’s talent handler it was the Goodwill Games in NYC. When Carter arrived I was to take him to [the] stage to join Ted Turner, Gov Pataki, Gerald Levin & Giuliani to kick off the event,” he began.

On their way to the stage, Casler shared, a young girl who was a standout inner-city school student in around the second grade approached President Carter to say hello.

“You would have thought the world stopped for Jimmy Carter,” Casler wrote. “He knelt down to look her in the eyes and began a long series of questions about the subjects she was studying, what her favorites were.” When she said math and science were her among her favorites, Carter “lit up.”

But what showcases Carter’s caring personality is the way he treated her.

“He smiled and acted as if she was the only person there,” Casler explained. “The thing is he didn’t talk to her like she was a kid. There wasn’t condescension of any air of I’m an ex-Prez wan a pic to show off.”

“It was one man talking to the future generations and coming from a place of deep empathy, compassion and care for how we leave this planet and the lives of those upon it. Faith in action.”

Casler wrote that he got nervous when they started calling for Carter to head to the stage, but the former president was “chill.”

People frequently cite Carter’s humility and compassion for others as highlights of his post-presidency legacy, and this interaction showcases those qualities beautifully.

Casler also expounded on Carter’s ability to talk to anyone with ease.

I’ve seen him on other occasions speak with full authority on the magic of Chuck Leavell’s left hand & hanging with the Allman Brothers. Carter is a renaissance man if ever there was one but his greatest gift is the example of how he lives in life,” he wrote. “Happy 99th President Carter.”

People loved reading this simple, personal story about a man who will leave the world with many such examples of his care and attention to whoever was in front of him.

“This is such a wonderful thread about a very special, compassionate man,” wrote Nancy Sinatra. “Thank you, Noel. Thank you.”

“Exactly who Jimmy Carter is,” shared Jody Dean. “Once interviewed him and Ernie Banks on the same day. President Carter sat before Banks in our green room, listening to Ernie in rapt attention. An 8-year-old with a signed Ernie Banks baseball card could not have beamed more brightly.”

“Jimmy Carter is the best human being to ever be president and it was honestly mean of us to make him do that,” wrote Hunter Felt.

“Thank you, Noel, for this heartrending tribute. Carter is a jewel and remembering him always lifts my sagging spirits.” shared Marina Margetts.

Happy 99th, Jimmy Carter, the former U.S. president whose legacy of human kindness and compassion will endure long after he leaves us.

Retired couple have spent almost 500 days at sea after booking 51 back-to-back cruises

For many, if not most of us, the purpose of retirement is to sit back and enjoy life. A chance to see the world, take up new hobbies, explore what it means to simply exist without having to clock in.

So it’s almost no wonder that more and more retirees are finding themselves on cruise ships, where relaxation, adventure (and having someone else do your chores) are the name of the game.

Retired Australian couple Marty and Jess Ansen can certainly attest to this—having spent close to 500 days sailing around the world on their 51 back-to-back cruises.

That’s right. 51 cruises. Back. To. Back.

The great-grandparents told A Current Affair that they were cruise fanatics long before calling one home, and were eager to catch on the cruising they missed during Australia’s strict COVID-19 lockdowns.

Plus, their plan to spend two years onboard became a no-brainer after realizing it would be cheaper than a nursing home. Marty told their travel agent “whatever comes, just book it,” and they’ve been living it up ever since.

In addition to enjoying the perks of their morning ping-pong matches and sipping beer while basking in breathtaking views, the Ansens particularly enjoy ballroom and hula dancing.

“Where else can you go where you go for dinner, you go to a show, you go dancing?” Jess gushed. “Through the day, you have all these activities.”

At this point, Jess and Marty are pretty much beloved fixtures of the cruise itself, dubbed by the hotel managers as the “celebrities onboard.” And the duo takes their status seriously—making sure to welcome every new captain aboard.

One might wonder if there are ever bittersweet feelings about being so far away from home and family, but the couple attests that no such feelings arise.

“They’re all busy,” Jess shared, regarding their other family members. “And we’re in a place in our lives where we just want to enjoy it.”

So, aside from the occasional reunion when they touch down in a nearby port, the cruising couple are focused on having fun with each other. It’s a journey with no end in sight, for as soon as they finish touring with their current vessel, a Princess Cruises’ 2,000-passenger Coral Princess, they plan to hop onto an even bigger ship, the Crown Princess, for another year. Then..who knows…

And according to Jess and Marty, “it’s a wonderful life.”

Elon Musk Is Being Sued For Defamation Again After Recklessly Helping Spread A Conspiracy Theory That Upended The Life Of A College Grad

Elon Musk sure loves conspiracy theories. The owner of the largest social media platform has fallen time and again for nonsense. Indeed, soon after buying Twitter, he shared some bunk about the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul. He’s even been sued for proliferating bull that has harmed people. Now it’s happening again.

As per The Daily Beast, Ben Brody, a recent college graduate, is suing Musk for defamation after Musk amplified a baseless conspiracy theory that he was one of the members of the extremist group Rose City Nationalists who was unmasked while protesting an Oregon City Pride event. Brody wasn’t anywhere near there. He even had receipts, showing that he was buying drinks in California at the time of the protest.

But even proof didn’t stop Musk — who had repeated a claim from a far right Twitter account that Brody was simply posing as a RCN member, that he might be antifa, and that the whole affair might have been a “false flag situation” — from continuing to post about the incident. At one point he replied to a tweet about it, writing, “always remove their masks.”

Now Musk is getting sued for defamation, again. In the lawsuit, Brody’s attorney’s write that this is “yet another example of Elon Musk’s serial pattern of slander.” It also argued that Musk “has been personally using the platform to spread false statements on a consistent basis while propping up and amplifying the most reprehensible elements of conspiracy-addled Twitter.”

The lawsuit also states that when Brody was hit with the erroneous accusations, he “felt like his life was over.” He also worries the stink of a false allegation will stick with him. “Ben worries that future employers may decide that it’s simply not worth it to hire an employee in a public-facing position who is connected to a bizarre controversy involving a neo-Nazi group.”

The previous time Musk was sued for defamation was in 2018, when Musk baselessly accused a diver who helped rescue 12 boys trapped in a Thai cave — an actual hero whose exploits were turned into a Ron Howard movie — a “pedo guy.” When called out on it, Musk wrote, “Bet ya a signed dollar it’s true.” The lawsuit, which found the defendant represented by, of all people, future 2020 election conspiracy theorist Lin Wood, ended with Musk triumphant. Perhaps this time will be different.
