Taylor Swift’s Delicious Cookie Recipe Is Returning To The Spotlight Ahead Of ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’

Windows swung right open, autumn air, cookie recipe is yours.

Back when she regularly posted on Tumblr, Taylor Swift shared the recipe for her now-infamous chai sugar cookies with cinnamon eggnog. “If you want to make the cookies from scratch (that’s what I did for the 1989 Secret Sessions), you can use this recipe I found on a baking blog I like,” she wrote before revealing her spin on the dessert. “I added the chai element to the recipe because I thought it would infuse cozy holiday vibez into the cookie and it really did.” It hits different, in modern (and Taylor-endorsed) parlance.

With 1989 (Taylor’s Version) — no secret sessions this time — coming out this month and cozy, red scarf-wearing weather around the corner, now’s a good time to make Swift’s cookies, with a recipe assist from Joy the Baker.

Here’s what you need from the original recipe:

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup granulated sugar, plus extra sugar for topping
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

To make it Sugar Cookies (Taylor’s Version), you also need to buy one packet of chai tea, another cup of powdered sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, and enough eggnog or milk for three tablespoons (or “TAYblespoons,” as she wrote with enough self-awareness to refer to herself as “so annoying, it astounds me sometimes”).

As per Taylor’s handwritten instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

2. Grease the cookie sheet

3. Beat together the butter and vegetable oil, then add the granulated sugar, powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla

4. Stir in the flour, baking soda, salt, and chai tea

5. Put the cookie dough in the fridge to chill for approximately an hour

6. Line the greased cookie sheet with 12 tablespoon “dough drops”

7. Press evenly and cover with sugar

8. Cook for “9-ish” minutes (love you, Taylor, but no recipe should have an “-ish”; exactly nine minutes will do)

Once the cookies have finished baking, mix together the powdered sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and eggnog in a bowl and spread the icing on top. Add an extra dash of cinnamon, and you’re all set. If it all goes well, they’ll look like they do here. It feels like a perfect night to make cookies at midnight, so enjoy!

‘Gen V’ Only Had One Bit Of ‘Bad’ News This Week (For Those Waiting To See Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Mystery ‘The Boys’ Role)

Supernatural devotees were not upset to learn that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will finally (at least, after Jensen Ackles did) reteam with The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke. Details of Morgan’s role on the Supe-skewering show have been kept under wraps, other than knowing that it will be profane and that Karl Urban couldn’t resist letting a picture slip out into the ether. There has been plenty of speculation about the mystery role, of course, and a contingent of fans hoped that Morgan would portray Tek Knight, an old-school Payback character who parodies both Marvel’s Iron Man and DC’s Batman.

Well, this week’s episode of Gen V was written by Jessica Chou (who also penned the infamous “Herogasm” episode of The Boys), who gave us another whale of an episode that was full of wtf moments and one bit of bad news (much worse news than seeing someone’s dong explode because that guy deserved it.)

JDM will apparently not be portraying the sexually obsessed Tek Knight on The Boys. He might be playing another sexually obsessed character, who knows? Yet unless they’ve got two actors playing the same character (not likely), this franchise chose to go with Derek Wilson, who hosts a show-within-a-show, The Whole Truth With Tek Knight. Additionally, Tek Knight is still sexually inappropriate and likes “holes” and, on that note, bagels.

In this spinoff, Tek Knight ends up dragging America’s true-crime obsession as entertainment through his pursuit of the reason why Golden Boy took himself out. It’s a role that I could also see Jensen Ackles pulling off, if he wasn’t already playing Soldier Boy in both shows.

So, who does JDM portray on The Boys? We still don’t know. However, Nathan Mitchell, who has been in the Black Noir suit (until that thing happened), previously confirmed that Morgan will be filling some “badass” shoes. Additionally, Morgan sidestepped a question from Men’s Health but did agree with The Mary Sue’s sentiment that he could make the show even “filthier.” Also, The Boys social media team posted a janky photoshop to throw everyone off base, so in other words, no one is telling yet.

Amazon’s Gen V streams new episodes on Fridays. The Boys Season 4 release date is still pending an announcement.

‘Gen V’ Season 1 Episode 4 Recap: Ranking The Most WTF Moments

Warning: Spoilers for Gen V episode four below.

The Boys manages to stir up a bit of trouble on the latest episode of Gen V as a familiar name arrives to wreak havoc at Godolkin University. Tek-Knight (Derek Wilson) is busy profiting from his questionable interrogation methods by making them the star of his hit true crime series, and the next mystery he’s determined to solve is the implosions of God U’s most promising student.

While Dean Shetty (Shelley Conn) tries to manage the horny bloodhound, the students launch a rescue mission for Emma that ends with what might be the most confusing cliffhanger we’ve seen from Eric Kripke and his team of evil, dick-obsessed geniuses.

Here is where our f*cked up leaderboard sits after episode episode four’s “The Whole Truth.”

6. The Cardosa Scientific Method

The Boys universe has always been keen to educate us on human anatomy via grotesque close-ups so, of course, the episode would launch with a detailed look at the ear canal Cricket went swimming in last week. Dr. Cardosa – the university’s brilliant scientist in charge of developing a method for controlling too-powerful supes like Sam – is at a loss as to how the kid managed to explode the guard’s brain from the inside. His working theory? Sam skull-f*cked the man’s ear to death. If these are the kind of geniuses Dean Shetty surrounds herself with, maybe she does deserve to be fired.

5. Tag Team Cocksplosions

Rufus – the Neo-Nazi-looking-frat-bro who perfected his batting swing via Cate’s help – turns out to be the resident Miss Cleo on campus. The only problem? He’s happy to use his mind-altering abilities to supernaturally roofie female students. Marie becomes his next target after she asks for his help in finding Emma but Jordan manages to distract him long enough for her to work her blood magic. Who hasn’t wanted to explode a creep’s penis at least once in their life?

4. Emma Grows Up

So far, all we’ve seen of Emma’s abilities is how purging herself allows her to shrink in size which, in turn, can sometimes end with a man’s eardrum hanging off her shoulder. But, when Sam loses it at Dr. Cardosa’s house and the rest of the supe squad can’t control him, Emma pulls off another Alice in Wonderland-esque trick – except, instead of cake, she gorges on homemade spaghetti to grow to the size of a middle-class suburban home.

3. Jason Ritter’s Murderous Muppets

The only thing more terrifying than an ungovernable all-powerful supe who hears voices inside his head is the idea that those voices belong to television’s Jason Ritter and a Muppet version of The Deep. Poor Sam doesn’t want to kill Cardosa but when you’ve got demonic Sesame Street characters peer pressuring you to do murder … you kind of just have to do murder, ya know?

2. Tek Knight’s Greatest Hits Holes

Tek-Knight has been alluded to in almost every season of The Boys and Gen V did him justice, painting him as the perfect blend of dangerous and idiotic as he scours the school for a student patsy he can pin Golden Boy’s meltdown on. When he finally settles on Dean Shetty, she uses her own human powers of manipulation to uncover his terminal illness and the pathetic kink that’s somehow a symptom of it. We’re not ones to shame someone’s sexual appetites, but if you can’t keep it in your pants around a bagel breakfast bar, a vacuum hose, the gas tank of a Toyota 4 Runner, a tree, a safety cone, a decorative skull, or the hot air hand dryer in a public restroom, you need help.

1. Hangover From Hell

There are cliffhangers and then there’s whatever the hell happened at the end of this week’s episode. One minute an oversized, in-the-nude Cricket is holding Sam down by Cardosa’s backyard pool as the rest of the group tries to assure him everything’s fine, the next, Jordan and Marie are waking up naked in bed with no memory of what happened or how they got there. Someone make it make sense.

Report: The Bears Traded Chase Claypool To The Dolphins

One of the strangest sagas in the NFL has come to an end. According to multiple media reports, the Chicago Bears have come to terms on a trade that will send embattled wide receiver Chase Claypool to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round NFL Draft pick. To facilitate the deal, Chicago will send a seventh-round selection in the same Draft to Miami.

Claypool, a 2020 second-round pick out of Notre Dame by the Pittsburgh Steelers, joined the Bears last November — Chicago sent Pittsburgh a second-round selection in 2023, which ended up being the first pick in the round and was used on a cornerback prospect, Joey Porter Jr. While Claypool’s physical gifts have never been in question, his attitude and approach to the game have led to him coming under fire at both of his previous pit stops.

This season, Claypool received scrutiny for a perceived lack of effort during the Bears’ season opening loss to the Green Bay Packers, and more recently, Chicago has made him a healthy scratch for each of the last two games, including Thursday night’s win over the Washington Commanders.

“It comes down to this. When you’re evaluating players in meetings, in practice, in walk-throughs, all those things, it’s important that you evaluate the entire body of work, right?” Bears coach Matt Eberflus said earlier this week. “And we just feel that right now Chase is going to be out of the building, it’s best for our football team.”

Claypool started five of the 10 games in which he appeared for Chicago, and registered 18 receptions for 191 yards and a touchdown.

Is Drake’s ‘Fear Of Heights’ About Rihanna?

When Lil Yachty said that his friend and frequent collaborator, Drake’s For All The Dogs album would address some controversial topics, he wasn’t exaggerating. No, the “8AM In Charlotte” rapper doesn’t use the 23-track project to provide commentary on social issues. However, he still managed to stir up social media timelines due to his songs’ subject matter. One song, in particular, has users online in a tizzy. After listening to the record, supporters ran to their profile to ask:

Is Drake’s “Fear Of Heights” about Rihanna?

Many users believe so, as the opening verse includes several subtle references to the singer’s nickname, past album, song lyrics, and more. “Why they make it sound like I’m still hung up on you? / That could never be / Gyal can’t ruin me / Better him than me / Better it’s not me / I’m anti, I’m anti / Yeah, and the sex was average with you / Yeah, I’m anti ’cause I had it with you / Okay, I’m auntie like your daddy sister / Auntie like a family picture / And I had way badder b*tches than you, TBH / Yeah, that man, he still with you, he can’t leave you / Y’all go on vacation, I bet it’s Antilles,” rapped Drake.

Rihanna isn’t the only person fans feel like was slighted on the For All The Dogs. Some believe Drake threw jabs at The Weeknd. At the same time, J. Cole delivered a lyrical punch to NBA YoungBoy. However, the Rihanna references struck a nerve with fans as the musician is now happily committed to her partner, fellow rapper ASAP Rocky, with whom she shares two young children. Rihanna and Drake reportedly dated each other off-and-one in 2009 and then again between 2016 and 2018. Could ASAP Rocky’s song at Rolling Loud Miami 2023 been a pre-rebuttal to Drake instead of Travis Scott?

Check out a few fans’ reactions to the alleged diss and listen to “Fear Of Heights” below.

‘Loki’ Fans Could Not Help But Grow Emotional During The Season 2 Premiere: ‘Still The Best Show’

With the Loki Season 2 premiere now streaming on Disney+, Marvel fans are getting emotional about finally seeing Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson reunited after a two year wait. It also didn’t hurt that the first episode was everything that Loki fans have come to expect. Impeccable set designs, existential sci-fi horror, and that killer score.

But all of that would be nothing without the impressive character work. Hiddleston’s Trickster God and Wilson’s Mobius are clearly the bedrock of the show and seeing them solve another time mystery together (and discover an even more dangerous one) was exactly what fans wanted to see right out of the gate.

The two bounced perfectly off each other like they never even left, and fans were here for the palpable chemistry that’s made Loki one of the best MCU series to date.

You can see some of the Loki and Mobius love below:

There was also plenty of love for the episode itself, which saw Loki return to the TVA after his disastrous encounter with He Who Remains. However, the Trickster God keeps “time slipping” in horrifying fashion, which makes it hard to warn Mobius and the rest of the TVA of the war that’s coming.

You can see reactions to the Loki Season 2 premiere below:

Ke Huy Quan also made his MCU debut as Ouroboros (or O.B.), and Loki fans were here for him. Quan fit seamlessly in with the cast and the weird machinations of the TVA, and the love for him on social media was off the charts:

And then, of course, there was that book catch:

We’re supposed to be objective here, but yeah, that was pretty hot. More of that please, Marvel, thank you.

Loki streams new episodes Thursday on Disney+.

Drake Revealed He’s ‘Probably’ Taking A Break From Making Music And Explained Why And For How Long

Last year, Drake dropped two albums: Honestly, Nevermind in June and Her Loss with 21 Savage in November. So fans were surprised when an LP was announced for this year, For All The Dogs, which is out today (October 6). However, it looks like Drake is finally taking the break he needs.

On a recent episode of Table For One, Drake said he’s taking a step back. “I’ll probably not going to make music for a little bit, I’mma be real with you. I need to focus on my health, first and foremost,” he said.

He continued, “I’ve been having the craziest problems with my stomach for years. I need to get right, I have a lot of other things I would love to focus on so I’m going to lock the door on the studio for a little bit. I don’t know what a little bit is. Maybe a year or something. Maybe a little bit longer.”

Earlier this year, the rapper was also busy publishing a poetry book titled Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream Of Consciousness By Kenza Samir & Aubrey Graham. The project received mixed reviews.

For All The Dogs is out now via OVO Sound. Find more information here.

How Are Drake And Millie Bobby Brown Connected?

Drake’s new album For All The Dogs has arrived, and it’s already dominating the discourse on social media. Among the discussions currently taking place are whether Drake dissed The Weeknd, J. Cole allegedly addressing his supposed beef with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and Drake’s son Adonis making his official rap debut at the end of “Daylight.”

Another topic is Drake’s connection with Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown, which he brings up on “Another Late Night,” which also features Lil Yachty. On it, Drake raps, “My bank account is magnolia, milly rockin’ / Weirdos in my comments talkin’ ’bout some Millie Bobby / Bring them jokes up to the gang, we get to really flockin’.”

How Are Drake And Millie Bobby Brown Connected?

The lyrics stem from a 2018 interview in which Brown addressed a 2017 photo of the pair hanging out backstage at a show. While walking the red carpet at the Emmy Awards, the then-14-year-old Brown said that the two kept in touch via text, and that he offered advice on subjects like boys and handling stardom at an early age (he would know, since he was also a child TV star in his teens, albeit not at all on the same scale).

Of course, because the internet is the internet (y’all need to GO OUTSIDE), some people read a lot into the comments, interpreting ill intent on Drake’s part. He was accused of grooming the young actress, with observers calling him “creepy” and “weird.” Brown herself addressed the criticism on her Instagram Story, writing, ““Why u gotta make a lovely friendship ur headline? U guys are weird… For real. Im very blessed to have amazing people in my life. U dont get to choose that for me. its nice to have people understand what i do. Now get back to talking about real problems in this world other than my friendships…jeez.”

Drake also seems fed up with seeing commentary online (and likely ONLY online… again, GO OUTSIDE) about his supposed proclivities from people projecting. While he’s probably not really going to turn up at anyone’s house over those comments, there’s definitely something off about investing this much in imagining what two famous people text each other.

Does Spotify Have The Explicit Version Of Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs?’

After months of teasing the project through his clothing choices, hair accessories, and onstage announcements, Drake’s highly anticipated solo album For All The Dogs has been uploaded to streaming services. The 23-track body of work features the singles “Slime You Out” featuring SZA, “8AM In Charlotte,” and his long-rumored collaborative records with Bad Bunny and J. Cole. So, does Spotify have the explicit version?

During the record’s rollout, Drake has given exclusives to various platforms. For example, his official video for “8AM In Charlotte,” starring his son Adonis Graham, was first uploaded to social media. On SiriusXM’s Sound 42 station, curated by the rapper’s OVO Sounds label, fans were treated to other goodies. Did Spotify receive any bonus materials? Unfortunately, not. However, the streaming giant does offer two listening experiences of the album.

Once logged into Spotify, two For All The Dogs editions will appear on Drake’s musician profile. The default displayed album is considered the clean version for some users, as no parental advisory label is printed on the cover art. Also, the explicit language marker is absent next to each track. However, if you select the option ‘Album’ and then go to ‘Show All,’ the explicit version of For All The Dogs will be unveiled for accounts without age restrictions.

Take a listen to the explicit version of For All The Dogs below.

‘The Golden Bachelor’ Recap: Somebody’s Gonna Get Hurt

It’s been a while since ABC’s Bachelor franchise sparked enough of our interest to actually tune in so we just have to ask: Is there always this much crying?

The second episode of The Golden Bachelor is a bit of a blubbering mess as the first one-on-one and group dates stir up painful emotions for the women before the final rose ceremony tasks Gary with doing the one thing he hates most: making a decision. Unlike past installments of the reality dating series, this show is constantly wading into uncharted trauma-tory, digging up past hurts, tasking its cast with sharing deeply personal heartbreak to fuel its driving premise of second chances and life after love. It’s at its most shallow, superficial fun when we’re laughing with the women about hearing aids and knee replacements but, this episode especially, focuses on the depressing reality of why we’re all here: loss. It’s inescapable, inevitable, and sometimes so hard to contend with that we’ll do anything — even don a tacky costume wedding dress for a poorly lit photoshoot that will then be framed and gifted to us on camera where we’ll grin and bear the embarrassment as we label it “The best present we’ve ever received.”

The pursuit of love really is exhausting.

Luckily, these oldies have more energy than the rest of us watching at home so we push onward. Here are the winners and losers of this week’s The Golden Bachelor.

Loser – Gary’s Freeway Fail

Gary is a 71-year-old man from Indiana whose mind cannot possibly fathom how to navigate LA traffic so, naturally, the producers gift him a classic Thunderbird with faulty headlights and send him on his way just as the sun’s going down. The result: a five-minute car ride that might be the most tense span of television we’ve seen in a while. If Quentin Tarantino had directed that scene in Clueless when Cher accidentally took the freeway, it’d probably look something like this.

Winner – Theresa’s Diner Flash Mob

Despite Gary’s failed Fast and Furious audition, Theresa seems to be having a great time, calming him down with gentle shoulder touches and opening up about her own devastating loss. Sure, sharing that your husband died of kidney failure in your arms is a truly insane conversation to have over milkshakes and fries at a kitschy California diner but when it ends with a scripted flash mob dance break, isn’t it worth it?

Loser – Leslie’s Flower Child Meltdown

The performance of this 64-year-old aerobics champion in this week’s episode was disappointing, to say the least. Leslie spent most of her time fuming over missing her chance to don 70s garb for a fake photoshoot instead of realizing that leather is the sexiest thing you can wear and working her goods for a one-on-one. This is not the kind of behavior becoming of a woman who once dated Prince. Play smarter, not harder, Leslie.

Winner – Nancy’s Storybook Ending

Most of the women had a good time during the romance novel cover shoot but for Nancy, the unfortunate choice to play dress up in a wedding gown quickly turned into a form of exposure therapy. That polyester and machine-stitched lace emotionally gutted the poor woman but luckily, she was able to weaponize those tears into receiving a rose before the night’s ceremony.

Loser – The Top Bunk Crew

Ok, no we know the producers are having a laugh because how are you going to make senior citizens sleep like they’re in summer camp? Someone’s going to break a hip. It won’t be Sandra, whose two knee replacements are too precious to risk climbing up a rickety ladder meant for a child. And it certainly won’t be pickleball co-captain Ellen, who risks wetting the bed every night if she’s not close to a bathroom. But Edith? Joan? Who will be the first to fall?

Winner – Susan’s 7 a.m. Chicken Piccata

Italian women treat that whole “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” cliché like it’s Gospel and Gary better be ready to worship at the altar of Susan’s 7 a.m. chicken piccata and garlic-fried meatballs.

Winner – April’s Grilling Technique

On the other hand, April’s motto when it comes to cooking also has its merits. She’s not here to fill Gary’s stomach after all, she’s here to decorate his life with love and joy.

Undecided – Nancy’s Killer Drive

We’re not sure how to feel about Kathy yet and it seems Gary doesn’t know either. She’s the last to get a rose this week despite appearing to be the most competitive of the bunch. At one point in the episode, as the women fret over a bug in the bathroom, Kathy issues her war cry: “I will kill!” The cockroach, or the women standing between you and a one-on-one date, Kathy?
