Earlier this month, Jennie released the flashy music video for “Handlebars,” a standout track from her debut solo album, Ruby. The Blackpink member explained how the collaboration with Dua Lipa was conceived during a recent interview.
“I’ve known Dua for a very long time now,” Jennie told Billboard. “I went to her first show in Korea. We’re already good friends, [but] it was our first time doing a song together. That itself was a new experience for us to see each other in a different way, and we just had a great time.”
She also discussed how her adopted middle name of “Ruby Jane” inspired the album title.
“I was contemplating until the very end. I didn’t name [the album] Ruby because it’s a part of my name,” Jennie said. “To me, Ruby speaks to me as the curtain call of a play, where I’m opening this new chapter of… I don’t want to say new life; life is life, but a different stage in my life and I’m welcoming everyone in. I don’t necessarily see Jennie, Ruby, Jane as three different alter egos of mine. That’s just who I am, all in one.”
Toronto rap star/producer Nav recently revealed the long-awaited release date for his new album, On My Way 2 Rexdale, and officially gives fans the first taste of the new project with the Metro Boomin-produced “Real Me.” The song sees Nav narrate the aftermath of a recent drug trip (which sounds a little like rolling on molly, considering lines like “My jaw gettin’ sore, I been bitin’ down”), admitting that the “real” version of him is the one who’s coming down — or so he tells the girl he’s calling on the phone in the wee hours.
This could be a recurring theme on OMW2R, considering the only other single we’ve heard since he announced the album last year is “6AM Thoughts” with Cash Cobain and Bay Swag. Pre-dawn thoughts would certainly appear to align with the post-club booty call he makes on “Real Me.” With respect to the singer-songwriter, though, the star of this particular show is frequent collaborator Metro Boomin, whose gloomy beat evokes exactly the mood that Nav’s lyrics describe — the late-night comedown, which leaves one wanting some company. The video is also suitably trippy, blurring the line between fantasy and reality.

Recently, Jack Harlow took to his Instagram Story to answer some fan-submitted questions. One of them might seem like something Harlow would just go ahead and ignore, like a question the user asked for fun but ultimately didn’t actually expect Harlow to address. Instead, the rapper gave it some real thought.
The question was, “Would you f*ck a shawty in front of your family for $800,000,000,000?”
Harlow was immediately on board, so he shifted the question, answering in a video:
“Since the obvious answer to this is yes, I guess the real question is how low a sum would I take? You know, if we started taking zeros off that and it was just… so what is that, 800 billion? So let’s take it down to million: 800 million. Still do it. 800,000: No. OK, though, no. So 800,000, I wouldn’t. 800 million, though? I mean, be serious.”
Meanwhile, another user asked if Harlow’s hair is starting to go gray, and while messing with his locks, he responded, “Yeah… and I’m f*cking with it.”
Somebody else asked, “N**** i really apreciate ur work when’s the next album.” Harlow answered, “First off, I appreciate that, and I also appreciate what you said about my work. Um… I’m cooking, man.”
Engaged musicians Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco just released their new album, I Said I Love You First. Before that drop, though, the two visited Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. There, they and Fallon played a game of “True Confessions,” where each of them share a quick story and the other two try to guess if it’s a lie or if it’s true. Blanco, though, smelled Gomez’s fib from a mile away.
Gomez’s claim was that her dog once ran away on set and Paul Rudd found it for her. Fallon asked if this was on the set of Only Murders In The Building, and Gomez noted it actually happened on the set of The Fundamentals Of Caring, a movie she and Rudd made when Gomez 21 or 22 years old. (The movie was released in 2016, when Gomez was 23, but it presumably filmed when she was 22.)
Blanco, though, picked up on the fact that when Gomez initially read her story, she said parenthetically that she “won’t tell you which” dog she’s talking about. Blanco said, “She said, ‘I’m not gonna tell you which dog.’ She has two dogs right now. She hasn’t had them for more than 5 or 6 years. She did have one dog a long time ago, but that dog passed away, and she wouldn’t have said, ‘I’m not gonna tell you which dog.’ I think she might be lying, but I’m not good at this game.”
After one more question from Fallon, Gomez conceded, “He knows it’s a lie.” She added to Blanco, “I told you this backstage: I’m gonna be terrible at this.”
Then, the two sat down for an interview, where they talked about getting engaged, their new album, and more.
Steven and Ian open this week’s episode by noting the arrival of a new Kanye West album, and the difference between saying stupid things and doing criminal things. Then they transition to talking about the new album from Japanese Breakfast and whether it lives up to her previous work. They also talk about My Morning Jacket’s career, and how their latest record fits with the overall catalog.
In Recommendation Corner, Ian talks about the latest from Weatherday and Steven stumps for Dutch Interior.

Lil Durk may be one of the primary progenitors and purveyors of Chicago drill, but even he has a tender side. He can’t help but let it show in his new single “Can’t Hide It” featuring Jhené Aiko. The song opens with a short interview clip in which Durk admits to being married to longtime lover India Royale, then the beat resolves into a smooth rolling R&B ballad, over which Durk details all the ways his admiration for her makes him act out of character for such a rugged guy.
Jhené comes in on the second verse to deliver a sing-rapped counterpart, admitting her own inability to hide her affection for her partner (Durk’s fellow midwestern rapper Big Sean). The whole thing comes together nicely, with a relatively even balance of masculine and feminine, buttoned-up and slightly unhinged. It’s a good song to continue the rollout for Durk’s upcoming album, Deep Thoughts.
Unfortunately, Durk could be separated from his partner for the foreseeable future, as he awaits trial for conspiracy to commit murder after allegedly arranging a hit on a rival rapper he blames for the death of his OTF artist, King Von. He’s pled not guilty, but has yet to be granted bail, so he’s been arranging the release of Deep Thoughts from behind bars.
J-Hope likes girls who are as pretty as a painting in his new single “Mona Lisa.” In the video, the K-pop star and his dancers put on a show in an art museum, nodding to the song’s title and the painting that inspired it. In a press release, he said of the song, “I prepared this as a gift for ARMY [BTS’s fandom] who enjoy performances. There are also playful and humorous elements throughout, like the various sound effects in the track. I think it will be even more enjoyable if you try to find those details while listening.”
“Mona Lisa” is J-Hope’s second solo single of the month, following “Sweet Dreams” with Miguel. He also features on Don Toliver’s “LV Bag” featuring Pharrell, continuing his foray into American pop music, which started back in 2023 — almost two years exactly — with “On The Street” featuring J. Cole.
In the meantime, Hope’s hitting the road — and a couple of airplanes — on his first-ever solo headlining tour. So far, he’s completed dates in Seoul and Brooklyn, with future dates taking him to Chicago, Mexico City, Oakland, San Antonio, Los Angeles, Manila, Jakarta, Singapore, Bangkok, Macau, Saitama, and Osaka.

After months of buildup, Selena Gomez’s album with fiancée Benny Blanco has arrived. I Said I Love You First is out now, along with the video for “Younger And Hotter Than Me,” a wistful ballad that finds Selena addressing an ex who seems to keep moving on without growing up.
Or at least, that’s how it sounds until you watch the video, which has sly references to Gomez’s child-actor beginnings, making the song maybe also about the way the Hollywood machine chews up and spits out young talent, moving on to “younger and hotter” kids in the process.
The video opens with Selena waking up surrounded by furniture draped in sheets; eagle-eyed fans noticed that the layout was exactly like her character’s bedroom in Wizards Of Waverly Place. As the camera pulls back, it’s revealed that she’s been sleeping in a mothballed set in an abandoned soundstage; as she traverses the backlot to the bathroom, passersby give her funny looks, suggesting discomfort with this old relic hanging around.
Later, Selena encounters a younger actress, who appears to be having a hard time — that’s subtle — and looks in on a taping of a “high school musical” while partaking in some craft services pastries. Benny visits her on the lot, and they share a meal, which is the only time Selena comes back to life, but all too soon, he’s off to his next gig, and she’s returning to her decommissioned bedroom set. It’s a melancholy vibe, but it’s also kind of hopeful — finding love has helped her get out of her lonesome memories, even if temporarily, and that’s not nothing.

Back in the second season of the bizarro FX comedy Dave, one episode’s plotline had Doja Cat taking a liking to the show’s fictionalized version of Lil Dicky. The next season, Dicky had a run-in with Jack Harlow, with whom he had a rivalry due to their similar looks (and Jack’s more assertive vibe).
So, it seems kind of inevitable that Jack Harlow and Doja Cat get cozy in the video for Jack’s new single, “Just Us.” After all, they share that Dave connection and off-beat sense of humor, and for what it’s worth, if we can believe Doja would fall for Dicky in the show, it’s equally believable she’d go for his Tether, even if only for a fictionalized music video narrative (it would appear she has a type).
In the video, the two rappers strike up a quick connection while at a packed restaurant, flirting and putting on a public display of affection amid guests including John Mayer, Matt Damon, PinkPantheress, Taylor Rooks, and more.
“Just Us” is Harlow’s fourth new solo single since releasing his last album, 2023’s Jackman, following “Hello Miss Johnson,” “Tranquility,” and “Set You Free.” Given its content, it’s sounding more and more like his next album will probably find him in full heartthrob mode, which fits his rise in status since his breakout with “What’s Happenin.”
The numbers are in: a lot of people watched Kendrick Lamar’s Super LIX halftime show. I’m guessing you knew that already, but now we know exactly how many people witnessed the “Not Like Us” rapper troll Drake.
“Biggest. Halftime Show. EVER,” the official NFL account wrote on X on Thursday (March 20), along with a video boasting that the Apple Music performance netted 3.65 billion total global views, including 1.7 billion from user-generated content. That seems like a lot! Additionally, Lamar’s set received more than 810 million impressions and 50 million people watched it on YouTube within the first 72 hours of release, a 50 percent increase over last year’s Super Bowl.
