Jimmy Kimmel Offered A Solution To Keep ‘The MAGAlorian’ Donald Trump Out Of The White House

Jimmy Kimmel knows a way to prevent round two of the Trump presidency.

“At the White House today, President Biden gave a speech forcibly condemning the evil attacks on Israel by Hamas and confirmed that Americans are among those taken hostage and at least 14 Americans were killed. He vowed to do everything in his power to bring the Americans home safe,” the Jimmy Kimmel Live host said during his monologue on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Donald Trump — or “the MAGAlorian” as Kimmel dubbed him — is throwing one of his patented tantrums on Truth Social.

“The attack on Israel NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPENED if I were President. Neither would any of the many other disasters like, Ukraine/Russia, Loss of Energy Independence, Afghanistan, Inflation, the Border Disaster, and so much more! MAGA!” the former president wrote in one post. In another, he screamed, “I KEPT ISRAEL SAFE! NOBODY ELSE WILL, NOBODY ELSE CAN, AND I KNOW ALL OF THE PLAYERS!!!”

After calling Trump “McRib Rambo,” Kimmel continued, “It’s pretty clear at this point that he’s got no connection with reality at all. All he can see is perfect phone calls and unfair witch hunts, elections he won, wars he would have prevented. Right now we could build a little Oval Office in a mental institution and put him in there. Tell him he’s been reinstated as president. He’d be perfectly content, drawing on weather maps and pushing that little red Diet Coke button. He’d be happy, we’d be happy. Let’s get it done.”

As long as Trump can still have a phone to call his good buddy Hannibal Lecter (no apps, though), it’s crazy enough to work. You can watch Kimmel’s monologue above.

A24’s ‘The Iron Claw’ Trailer Tells The True Story Of The ‘Greatest Family In The History Of Wrestling’

The most jacked movie of the year is also one of the saddest. A24 has released the first trailer for The Iron Claw, a drama from Martha Marcy May Marlene director Sean Durkin about the Von Erich family of wrestlers. There’s brothers Kevin and Kerry, played by Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White, and their demanding father Fritz (Holt McCallany, who was so good in Mindhunter).

“Ever since I was a child, people said my family was cursed. Mom tried to protect us with God. Pop tried to protect us with wrestling. He said if we were the toughest, strongest, nothing could ever hurt us. I believed him. We all did,” Efron’s Kevin says in a voiceover. But no amount of training could prepare the “greatest family in the history of wrestling” for the battles they would face outside the ring.

You can watch the trailer above. Here’s the official plot synopsis:

The true story of the inseparable Von Erich brothers, who made history in the intensely competitive world of professional wrestling in the early 1980s. Through tragedy and triumph, under the shadow of their domineering father and coach, the brothers seek larger-than-life immortality on the biggest stage in sports.

The Iron Claw, which also stars Harris Dickinson, Stanley Simons, Maura Tierney, and Lily James, opens in theaters on December 22nd.

Joe Jonas And Sophie Turner’s Custody Battle Is Officially Over As They’ve Announced The Plan For Their Children

At the moment, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are in the process of getting divorced. That in itself can be complicated enough, but here, there are a couple of notable extra wrinkles: They have two daughters (3-year-old Willa and 15-month-old Delphine), and Jonas and Turner plan to live on separate continents, with Jonas living in the US and Turner settling in her native UK.

Last month, Turner reportedly sued Jonas for custody of their children, and since then, there’s been uncertainty about what would end up happening with the kids. Now, though, Jonas and Turner have offered some clarity: In a joint statement (as People reports), they said, “After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the US and the UK. We look forward to being great co-parents.”

This follows a report from yesterday (October 10) that said lawyers for both Jonas and Turner “believe that an amicable resolution on all issues between them is forthcoming.”

Previously, in a filing, Turner asked “for the return of their two young children to England,” saying she felt they “have been wrongfully retained in New York City since September 20 from ‘their habitual residence’ in England.” Jonas’ representatives responded by calling the filing “a harsh legal position” and a surprise considering Jonas and Turner had previously agreed to an “amicable co-parenting setup.”

Billie Eilish Believes One Of Her Own Hits Is ‘Objectively’ The ‘Stupidest Song In The World’

Billie Eilish has a whole roster of hits at this point, but the way she sees it, one of them is “objectively” very dumb, as she expressed alongside her brother Finneas in a Jimmy Kimmel Live! interview yesterday (October 10).

At about six minutes into the conversation, Kimmel asked the pair if they’re hard on themselves when they look back at their older material, and if there’s one song in particular that makes them cringe these days. Eilish responded, “Well, objectively, ‘Bad Guy’ is, like, the stupidest song in the world.”

Sensing some shock from the studio audience, she continued, “But it’s really good! Oh my god, don’t gasp!” She pressed on, “But it’s just like, you have to understand, you have to have humor in it. That song: I’m trolling, you know what I’m saying? That song is supposed to be goofy, but it’s just funny ’cause I’m like: it’s dumb! It’s literally… ‘duh?’ Like, what… what does that mean?”

Elsewhere during the conversation, Finneas and Eilish shared a clip of them writing “What Was I Made For?” after noting that they’ve been filming the process of writing Eilish’s next album. This comes after Eilish recently declared in an interview, “There is no documentary, I can confirm that, that that is not happening. But I’m sure someday, there will be another one.” That line of questioning, though, was more about an on-stage moment, so perhaps Eilish meant there’s no planned tour documentary, but some sort of behind-the-scenes film based on Finneas and Eilish’s studio footage could still be possible.

How Is Scorsese’s ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’ Different From The David Grann Book?

Over the last couple months, David Grann’s 2017 bestseller Killers of the Flower Moon has re-entered the book charts. There’s a good reason for that: There’s a high-profile movie adaptation en route. It’s got flashy pedigree. Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro and Jesse Plemons star. No less than Martin Scorsese directed. And it’s really, really long. But how faithful is the film to the book, especially considering it’s non-fiction? Turns out there’s at least one big difference.

In a recent Time cover story that profiled Scorsese, the legendary filmmaker said that the initial script for the film closely followed the structure of the book. The first section introduces a spate of mysterious deaths and murders of members of Oklahoma’s Osage tribe, who’ve come into quite a bit of wealth after oil was discovered on their land. But from there on out, the majority of the focus is on Tom White, a former Texas Marshal enlisted by the federal government to root out the killer(s). If the book even has a protagonist, the closest to it is White.

But White is not the protagonist of the film. That’s because Scorsese and team effectively inverted the book, turning White into a supporting player and two supporting players from the book into the protagonists of the film. Those would be Mollie (Lily Gladstone), an Osage woman who’s watched as family members died off, and Ernest (DiCaprio), her husband, who may be involved in the killings.

Making White the main character while punting Mollie and other Osage characters to the margins seemed wrong to Scorsese. “After a certain point, I realized I was making a movie about all the white guys,” he said to Time. “Meaning I was taking the approach from the outside in, which concerned me.”

DiCaprio agreed. “It just didn’t feel like it got to the heart of it,” DiCaprio told British Vogue about the original script. “We weren’t immersed in the Osage story.” (DiCaprio was even initially supposed to play White. The role instead went to Plemons.)

The decision to change Flower Moon came relatively early into pre-production, as DiCaprio stated: “There was this tiny, small scene between Mollie and Ernest that provoked such emotion in us at the reading, and we just started to penetrate into what that relationship was, because it was so twisted and bizarre and unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before.”

So if you’ve read Gramm’s book, prepared to still be surprised by what’s on-screen.

Killers of the Flower Moon hits theaters on October 20.

Latto And Christina Aguilera Are Teasing A Collaboration And They Seem Ready To Share It

Earlier today (October 10), Christina Aguilera announced that she would launch a Las Vegas residency at the end of the year. But it appears that she has even more exciting things up her sleeve. Perhaps Aguilera might have new music on the way.

Today on Twitter, rapper Latto teased some sort of collaboration between herself and Aguilera.

“Should we tell them?,” said our previous cover star Latto, tagging Aguilera’s Twitter handle, adding a side-eye emoji, and a chuckling emoji.

Aguilera quote-replied to the tweet, saying, “I think it’s time babe….,’ further fueling speculation about an impending collab.

Aguilera’s Vegas series is set to kick off on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31, with further dates to be announced later. The residency will take place at the Voltaire Belle de Nuit at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas. According to Billboard, who first reported the story, Aguilera’s residency will feature her performing her hits, which span over two decades.

“I look forward to bringing Las Vegas a new show that fuses music, sophistication and art in ways I have never performed before,” Aguilera said to Billboard. “What I love about the intimacy at Voltaire at The Venetian Resort is how up-close-and-personal I can be with the audience … a truly modern twist on the performance experience.”
