Lauren Boebert once heckled Joe Biden while he was talking about his dead son Beau. Perhaps it wasn’t all too surprising when she was kicked out of a regional production of Beetlejuice for unruly behavior. Since the news broke Tuesday, more details have emerged of her antics, including video of her and her guest being booted. Now the woman who had the misfortune of sitting behind her is spilling some further unpleasant tea.

As per The Daily Beast, the unhappy theatergoer opened up to The Denver Post about her experiences having the musical take on Tim Burton’s beloved sophomore feature ruined by the MAGA lawmaker. “I’ve never seen anyone act like that before,” she said. For one thing, she spent the show singing along “loudly with her hands in the air.”

Boebert has claimed that she didn’t do one of the more outrageous things of she’s accused: vaping. Not so, said the woman. Indeed, she kept asking Boebert to stop because she’s pregnant. But all Boebert would do was say “no.”

The woman confirmed that Boebert kept taking video of the show for long stretches at a time. She also spent some time “kissing the man she was with,” who turned out to be a Democrat and bar guy who hosts drag shows.

It got so bad that during intermission the woman asked an usher if she could switch seats, only to be told, “You’re not the first complaint [we’ve] had.” When Boebert returned for Act II, she called the woman a “sad and miserable person.”

Reports claim Boebert then started acting back up again, only to be be quickly escorted out of the theater. Sounds bad, but at least the woman didn’t have to see the new Back to the Future musical with Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Peso Pluma was nominated for three awards — Best New Artist, Best Latin, and Song Of Summer — at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, where he performed “Lady Gaga.” He didn’t win any of them, but he has much more serious matters to worry about.

As reported by The Arizona Republic and translated by USA Today, Pluma was threatened by Mexico’s Jalisco New Generation Cartel, as evidenced by a banner spotted in Tijuana earlier in the day. According to the publications, the banner read, “This goes to Peso Pluma, refrain from presenting yourself on October 14 because it will be your last show due to your disrespect and loose tongue, you show up and we are going to [break you].”

Subsequently, Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin posted Pluma’s concert scheduled for Thursday, September 14, “due to unforeseen circumstances.”

Pluma has not publicly addressed the scary situation, instead posting shots from his 2023 MTV VMAs debut on Wednesday, September 13. According to his official website, his next scheduled concert is set for September 28 at Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada.

As per Billboard, The 24-year-old Pluma (real name Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija) was born near Guadalajara, Mexico but spent his adolescence in San Antonio, Texas and New York, New York. According to Hypebeast, Pluma’s stage name, which translates to “featherweight,” was inspired by “the legendary Mexican boxer Marco Antonio Barrera” because of his lean stature. His July album, Genesis, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and has spent 11 weeks on the chart so far. To date, Pluma has 21 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, including “Ella Baila Sola” (No. 4 peak).

“It’s a very beautiful song that was written by my friend Pedro Tovar,” Pluma told Uproxx in an interview published around the release of Genesis, speaking of his highest-charting Hot 100 single. “He has his group Eslabon Armado. He invited me to a part of their album Desvelado on that song. Thanks to God it was the song that performed the best on the album. It’s the song that’s racked up all these numbers. I’m very grateful and happy that they had me be a part of this and that everyone has liked it. Now there are remixes of it in all genres. I’m very proud to be Mexican and to raise the Mexican flag high up.”

Pluma added, “I’m very shocked to see how música Mexicana and corridos have reached such a level that people who didn’t like them at all are now the same people who are asking for corridos in the nightclubs. They’re the same people who are asking for this music everywhere. We’re very grateful that this has become something that’s global.”

Billboard additionally relayed that Pluma’s Genesis earned 101.8 million streams during the charting week of July 8, giving him “the largest streaming week ever for a regional Mexican album” up to that point. In doing so, Pluma had 25 songs simultaneously slotted on the Hot Latin Songs chart, besting global giant Bad Bunny‘s 24 — the record since May 2022.

Drake wasn’t invited to be in SZA’s “Snooze” video — those invitations were reserved for Justin Bieber, Benny Blanco, Young Mazino, and Woody McClain — but that might be because he already had something booked with her.

On Wednesday night, September 13, Drake posted more context clues about the next single from his For All The Dogs album on Instagram. The photo is of Halle Berry getting slimed at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards with a simple caption of a wide-eyed emoji and a lime green heart emoji. However, one tap on the photo reveals that SZA is tagged. SZA also posted the photo, presumably meaning she is the featured artist on the song. It appears that this is the record that Drake previously announced would drop on September 15 as the next single from For All The Dogs.

On Monday, September 11, Drake told his It’s All A Blur Tour crowd in Austin, Texas, “I know y’all are excited to hear the album. I know it’s like two weeks out, but I’m gonna drop a song this week – just to let you know what’s up.”

Drake’s For All The Dogs is due out on September 22, as he confirmed last Wednesday (September 6) via a throwback video of his father, Dennis Graham.

Last week also saw SZA treat fans to an SOS Album Celebration concert at The Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York with the souvenir of news that she will drop a deluxe version of her perennial No. 1 SOS album sometime this fall.

There’s the old cliché, desperate times call for desperate measures and one woman decided it was time to pull out all the stops. Well, sort of. Karolina Geits was annoyed with dating sites when she and her friends came up with the joke of walking around New York City with a sign that reads, “looking for a husband.”

The sign isn’t something fancy that they printed up at Office Depot or something. It’s just a piece of cardboard with black sharpie writing. Geits, who is a model, debuted the sign in July, racking up more than 6.4 million views on TikTok. Since striking virility, she’s taken to filming herself with some pretty eyebrow raising signs.

People walking along the streets seem to be a mixture of confused and amused by these silly signs, which sometimes actually result in money. One of her signs, “need money for a Birkin” had onlookers giggling and some folks forgetting they were in New York traffic while craning their necks to…read her sign. I’m sure.

In one video Geits is sitting on a park bench surrounded by balloons designed to look like dogs. While actual dogs stop to sniff the curious pets she’s holding the leash to, the model holds up a sign that reads, “these are the only pets I can afford.” She doesn’t stop at just sitting on the bench with her inflatable best friends, she takes them out into the park for a walk while people look at her confused.

Geits, has a sign looking for a sugar daddy, asking strangers to marry her, and declaring that she is in fact fashion. One of her most recent strolls through New York City looking for a husband garnered more than 11 million views. By the end of that video, some lucky guy swooped her off her feet. Pretty sure they’re married now and she’s just looking for a spare. They seemed pretty happy together after meeting .3 seconds beforehand.

Commenters can’t believe her results.

“If this is the result then I just might try it,” one woman writes.

“You know what… This might just work lol,” another says.

“At this point I need to do the same thing. Lol,” someone comments.

“You know what… let me go get me some art supplies lmao,” one person writes.

Well, it does seem to be effective in gaining the attention of attractive men, even the ones clearly sitting with their partners. There were quite a few women gripping their partner’s arm and giving them death stares. It’s all in good fun, but check out those reactions below.

A woman, 35, and her husband, 38, had been married for 10 years and during that time became good friends with a neighbor in her 20s. Two years after they met the neighbor she had a son. She said the father wasn’t in the son’s life because he was a one-night fling.

The woman had health issues, so the couple happily took care of the child when she was in the hospital. Sadly, the woman died when the child was young, so the couple became his foster parents and legally adopted him at the age of 7.

Years later, when their adopted son was 10, and their biological child was 5, the mother noticed that both children looked a lot alike. “Now that they are 10 and 5 years old and they looked so much like each other that I begin to have suspicions,” the woman wrote on the Reddit Relationship Advice subforum.

When the results came back, the woman found out that her children were half brothers. Her husband had cheated on her with the neighbor who passed away. In a strange set of circumstances, the man adopted his son. After learning the truth about her son and husband, the wife was beside herself.

“I don’t know how I should act. I am so angry and feel so humiliated, but I love the three of them so much. I feel like I am just a tool and that my dignity was stepped upon,” she wrote on the forum.

To make things worse, she still loves her husband. She said that he was “never abusive” and was a “good husband” and a “good father.”

“It feels like I was not a mother but an idiot who was used like a babysitter for his child,” the woman wrote. “How am I supposed to react? Should I tell them the truth and try to cancel the adoption? Should I divorce him? Am I right to feel like it, or am I a monster to see this child as the source of my humiliation?”

The post received 110 comments, and the most popular urged her to ask herself the big questions. Do you want to raise both boys? Do you want to stay married? Do you feel like he will slight you again in some way?

I think one question you need to consider is, Do you want to raise both boys? Setting aside whether or not your husband is involved, understand that the child is blameless and isn’t responsible for his parentage. Deciding what you want to do regarding the child is important. Also note that it isn’t wrong to decide that you can’t handle taking care of this child. Only you know if you have the capacity to raise the child, knowing where he comes from. If you decide that you can’t, it is better to not try, and end up conveying all the upset you are feeling to him.

The other question is, Do you want to stay married? There can be various reasons for and against divorce. Only you can decide which ones matter most to you.

A related question is, Do you feel he will slight you again in some way? You talk about your dignity being stepped on. Is he often acting that way in many things? Was this a one-time thing? Do you think he is likely to do it again? Knowing this will help you answer the prior question.

Trying to break down all the things you are struggling with into separate ideas may help you get some control over it.

The woman’s final words on her situation were that she couldn’t resolve to hate her husband or the adopted child and that her husband’s infidelity was the only thing that made her feel hesitant about him. Further, she is legally bound to the adopted child and couldn’t leave him regardless. But sadly, even though it appears she will stay in the situation, she feels like she has no choice. “I feel trapped,” she wrote.

Not only does it bring out his own inner child, Andrew, reflects, it also helps him connect with his son over shared interests.

Andrew’s video soon went viral on TikTok, and other parents couldn’t help but share their own experiences of these “unsing benefits.”

“Halloween, Christmas, zoos, children’s museums, arcade, fireworks, everything that maybe lost a little magic as an adult gets all the magic back,” one person wrote.

Another added, “When my husband learned our two-year-old is in LOVE with Pokémon, never seen this man more happy and excited!”

One person even illustrated how the experience can be very healing for those whose parents never actually played with them, writing, , “Honestly aside from the OCCASIONAL game of monopoly as a family I don’t really remember my parents playing with me. My son will know different.”

In a follow-up video, Andrews noted that while of course these activities can be enjoyed for folks who wish to remain childless, the point he was trying to make is that there’s a different flavor of bliss that happens through the lens of being a parent.

“It’s less about how you’re feeling about playing it as an adult and it’s more about seeing them and how much they enjoy it and being a part of that experience for them” he said.

There is something to be said about sharing the experience with little humans who view the world in such a different way, which reminds us not only of what pure innocence actually feels like, but the divine gift of harboring the next generation of humanity. That’s undeniably special.

Here’s to all of us having the opportunity to see through the eyes of a child again. Be it through our own children, through nieces and nephews, through kids groups, or simply by busting out the toys without a second glance.

On Tuesday, September 12, the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards hit all the traditional awards show notes. Taylor Swift won basically everything. The long list of performers included Doja Cat, Diddy, Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B and Hot Girl Meg, Metro Boomin, and Shakira. NSYNC reunited, Justin Timberlake and Megan Thee Stallion posted a TikTok, Selena Gomez swore to never become a meme again, and Swift let loose during her The Eras Tour hiatus.

But wait, why was Victoria Monét in the crowd but not performing on stage? Fans were particularly upset that she wasn’t given the opportunity to show off her powerhouse vocals.

“I see your advocation for me to have performed tonight and I’m so grateful to you!! Sincerely!” Monét wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “My team was told it is ‘too early in my story’ for that opportunity so we will keep working! I’m grateful for YOU, for my tour starting this Friday and for the ability to see some of my favorite people perform tonight and receive the love they so deserve!!! [Brown heart emoji, prayer-hands emoji] For me, it’s part of the story…and in Gods time.”

Lauren Jauregui replied to Monét’s post, writing what most people are thinking: “I love you and your beautiful positive SWEET ASS SELF OMG but also they’re full of sh*t lol.”

It’s been over four months since the WGA strike began, which means it’s been over four months since most talk shows have aired new episodes. Those that have dared return without writers have not done so without consequences. Just ask Drew Barrymore. But there’s someone who clearly wasn’t deterred by the backlash the morning show host has faced.

Per Deadline, Barbie critic Bill Maher took to Twitter to announce that Real Time, his long-running HBO debate show, was returning. There was a catch: They were doing so “unfortunately, sans writers or writing.” It’s been “five months” since the strike began (actually it’s four months, one week, and four days), and it’s “time to bring people back to work.”

Maher elaborated on his complicated stance on Hollywood’s two-pronged strike in his statement:

“The writers have important issues that I sympathize with, and hope they are addressed to their satisfaction, but they are not the only people with issues, problems, and concerns. Despite some assistance from me, much of the staff is struggling mightily. We all were hopeful this would come to an end after Labor Day, but that day has come and gone, and there still seems to be nothing happening. I love my writers, I am one of them, but I’m not prepared to lose an entire year and see so many below-the-line people suffer so much.”

Maher said that he’ll “honor the spirit of the strike” by excluding the portions of his show, namely the monologue, deks piece, New Rules, and “editorial” — aka “the written pieces that I am so proud of on Real Time.”

He also admitted that the writer-less version of his show “will not be as good as our normal show, full stop.” Still, he said, “the heart of the show is an off-the-cuff panel discussion that aims to cut through the bullsh*t and predictable partisanship, and that will continue. The show will not disappoint.”

The last time Real Time was on air was April 28, mere days before the WGA went on strike. His guests included Elon Musk.

Last week Maher earned scorn for calling the strikers’ demands, with which he partially agrees, “kooky.” He took particular umbrage with their belief “that you’re owed a living as a writer.” In his words, “you’re not.”

In other words, the timing could be better, to name one issue here.

Drake first teased his upcoming ablum For All The Dogs in June, when Drake coyly placed QR codes in select newspapers around the release of his poetry book. As his It’s All A Blur Tour has snaked through North America, Drake continued dropping hints about the release, including the cover art drawn by his son as well as hair clips.

On September 6, Drake confirmed its September 22 release date on Instagram. Earlier this week, he announced during his tour stop in Austin, Texas that he’s “going to drop a song this week.”

Drake will celebrate the long-awaited arrival of For All The Dogs on stage, performing the first of back-to-back It’s All A Blur Tour shows at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The tour is scheduled to wrap with rescheduled shows in Denver, Colorado and New Orleans, Louisiana, but new dates have not been announced.

As of now, the last confirmed show is on October 9 in Columbus, Ohio, after back-to-back hometown shows at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on October 6 and 7. See all of the remaining dates here.

In other words, Drake will have plenty of opportunities to insert the album into his already-stacked setlist. The It’s All A Blur Tour is Drake’s first since 2018, so it’s anybody’s guess as to if he will embark on a new tour specifically in support of For All The Dogs.
