Olivia Rodrigo Will Be Offering Unique (And Less Expensive) ‘Silver Star Tickets’ For Her Upcoming ‘Guts World Tour’

Olivia Rodrigo is officially set to head out on her Guts World Tour starting next year, as she announced the dates today.

There are currently two ways for fans to register through Ticketmaster for a chance to receive an access code to purchase tickets. The first is the standard fan signup, with a sale being held on Wednesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 21.

Most interestingly, Rodrigo is offering a new option for something called Silver Star Tickets that fans can purchase. This will make a limited number of tickets available for $20 to her shows. These can only be purchased in pairs and just for two per purchase order. The total amount will also include taxes and fees, so it will wind up being higher.

“Olivia is launching this program to make it as easy and affordable as possible for her fans to make it out to her shows,” a press release read.

The release also notes that the Silver Star Tickets will be seated next to each other. The seat locations will not be revealed until customers pick up the tickets on the day of the show from the box office.

Meet the 18-year-old advocating for teen mental health, one inspiring podcast at a time

A changemaker is anyone who takes creative action to solve an ongoing problem—be it in one’s own community or throughout the world.

And when it comes to creating positive change, enthusiasm and a fresh perspective can hold just as much power as years of experience. That’s why, every year, Prudential Emerging Visionaries celebrates young people for their innovative solutions to financial and societal challenges in their communities.

This national program awards 25 young leaders (ages 14-18) up to $15,000 to devote to their passion projects. Additionally, winners receive a trip to Prudential’s headquarters in Newark, New Jersey, where they receive coaching, skills development, and networking opportunities with mentors to help take their innovative solutions to the next level.

For 18-year-old Sydnie Collins, one of the 2023 winners, this meant being able to take her podcast, “Perfect Timing,” to the next level.

Since 2020, the Maryland-based teen has provided a safe platform that promotes youth positivity by giving young people the space to celebrate their achievements and combat mental health stigmas. The idea came during the height of Covid-19, when Collins recalled social media “becoming a dark space flooded with news,” which greatly affected her own anxiety and depression.

Knowing that she couldn’t be the only one feeling this way, “Perfect Timing” seemed like a valuable way to give back to her community. Over the course of 109 episodes, Collins has interviewed a wide range of guests—from other young influencers to celebrities, from innovators to nonprofit leaders—all to remind Gen Z that “their dreams are tangible.”

That mission statement has since evolved beyond creating inspiring content and has expanded to hosting events and speaking publicly at summits and workshops. One of Collins’ favorite moments so far has been raising $7,000 to take 200 underserved girls to see “The Little Mermaid” on its opening weekend, to “let them know they are enough” and that there’s an “older sister” in their corner.

Of course, as with most new projects, funding for “Perfect Timing” has come entirely out of Collins’ pocket. Thankfully, the funding she earned from being selected as a Prudential Emerging Visionary is going toward upgraded recording equipment, the support of expert producers, and skill-building classes to help her become a better host and public speaker. She’ll even be able to lease an office space that allows for a live audience.

Plus, after meeting with the 24 other Prudential Emerging Visionaries and her Prudential employee coach, who is helping her develop specific action steps to connect with her target audience, Collins has more confidence in a “grander path” for her work.

“I learned that my network could extend to multiple spaces beyond my realm of podcasting and journalism when industry leaders are willing to share their expertise, time, and financial support,” she told Upworthy. “It only takes one person to change, and two people to expand that change.”

Prudential Emerging Visionaries is currently seeking applicants for 2024. Winners may receive up to $15,000 in awards and an all-expenses-paid trip to Prudential’s headquarters with a parent or guardian, as well as ongoing coaching and skills development to grow their projects.

If you or someone you know between the ages of 14 -18 not only displays a bold vision for the future but is taking action to bring that vision to life, click here to learn more. Applications are due by Nov. 2, 2023.

Report: The Jets Won’t Reach Out To Tom Brady About Replacing Aaron Rodgers

The New York Jets are in the market for some quarterback help. After Aaron Rodgers tore his achilles tendon four plays into his tenure with the team, New York turned to embattled former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson, who was able to help them pick up a season-opening win over the Buffalo Bills on Monday night.

While head coach Robert Saleh expressed the team’s confidence in Wilson moving forward, the only other quarterback on the roster is Tim Boyle, who was just elevated from the practice squad. A whole lot of names have been thrown around as potential options if the team is going to bring in another signal caller, and while it’s unclear if there was ever any level of interest from either side, a report by Dianna Russini of The Athletic indicates that Tom Brady is not on the list of names New York plans to contact.

Brady announced his second retirement this offseason after a stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and made clear in his announcement that this one would be for good — he previously retired following the 2021 season, but changed his mind and came back for one more year. Per Russini, Brady has expressed to those close to him that he’s not interested in returning to football, and it’s been reported that he will take this year off before joining Fox as part of its lead NFL broadcast booth.

As for the Jets, all signs point to Wilson being under center for their Week 2 contest against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon. Following Rodgers’ injury, Wilson stepped in and went 14-for-21 with 140 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against Buffalo.

‘Barbie’ Star Ariana Greenblatt Is Blowing Away ‘Star Wars’ Fans With Her Incredible ‘Ahsoka’ Performance

Star Wars fans had their faces melted off during the latest episode of Ahsoka thanks to a young actress who’s taking Hollywood by storm: Ariana Greenblatt. After already knocking out performances in two major blockbusters, Barbie and Avengers: Infinity War, Greenblatt dropped into the galaxy far, far away with a surprise portrayal of Ahsoka during her years in The Clone Wars.

Going into Ahsoka Episode 5, “Shadow Warrior,” fans knew they were in for a treat thanks to the appearance of Hayden Christensen‘s Anakin Skywalker in the final moments of Episode 4. Not only that, but Episode 5 was getting a special theatrical release, so series creator Dave Filoni clearly had something big in store. That something was a pivotal reunion between Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka and her old master, but not in a way that fans were expecting.

As the two clashed lightsabers in the World Between Worlds, Ahsoka gets knocked back in time where she’s a padawan again fighting side-by-side with Anakin. This is where Greenblatt comes in, and she absolutely nailed the part of a young Ahsoka. Star Wars fans loved seeing the actress deliver a pitch-perfect, live-action version of The Clone Wars cartoon. Within hours of Episode 5 going live, fans already started demanding Greenblatt’s return. She was that good.

You can see some of the reactions below:

Trump Loves McDonald’s But He Doesn’t Seem To Think Much Of The People Who Work There

Donald Trump loves McDonald’s more than most things, including his family probably. The former president had it while recovering from COVID in a hospital; he also claimed that Big Macs, Filet-O-Fishs, and fries are why he hasn’t lost his hair. “I know this menu better than you do,” he told an actual McDonald’s employee. “I probably know it better than anybody in here.”

It sounded like a typical Trump brag, because it was, but he also doesn’t seem to think much of the hard-working, underpaid people who make his favorite food. “If you owned a McDonalds, or even a much smaller, less complex operation, WOULD YOU HIRE CROOKED JOE BIDEN TO RUN IT?” he wrote on Truth Social. As noted by Medias Touch, “Trump is basically implying that Biden is so incompetent, that he can’t even meet his perceived low criteria to work at a McDonald’s.”

Trump, who happens to be a fan of McDonalds food and cut an ad for them in 2002, doesn’t value laborers. He attacked autoworkers as “going to hell” unless they support him. Laborers deserve respect. Trump doesn’t deliver and doesn’t understand there is nothing wrong with people who work at McDonald’s.

At least he’s not pushing the wild conspiracy theory that McDonald’s serves human meat? Only his biggest fans are.

It’s a risk I’m willing to make for a Double Cheeseburger.

Metro Boomin Will Deliver An Orchestral Performance Of His Hits In Collaboration With Red Bull Symphonic

Metro Boomin has had a hell of a year. On top of dropping his Heroes & Villains album last December, which features the hit single, “Creepin’” with The Weeknd, the prolific producer has contributed to Young Thug’s Business Is Business album, and he executive produced the soundtrack to Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse soundtrack.

As his impressive resume suggests, Metro has several hit songs to his credit. Next month, some of the biggest songs he’s produced will get new life through an orchestral performance.

Anthony Parnther and the Symphonic Orchestra will transform Metro’s biggest hits into new symphonies during a special performance on October 26 at Dolby Theater as part of the Red Bull Symphonic’s orchestra series.

“I’m very excited to be part of such an amazing music moment with Red Bull,” said Metro in a statement. “I have a deep love and appreciation for orchestral music, which can be heard in many of the records I’ve produced. Now, with Red Bull Symphonic, we’re able to reimagine a whole body of work that I’m proud of in a live show with the talent of the Symphonic Orchestra, which has always been a dream of mine
that I’m finally seeing come to life.”

Over the course of his career, Metro has produced for the likes of Drake, Future, The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Tinashe, and more. While a setlist has not yet been confirmed, fans are certainly in for a career-spanning performance.

Tickets for the performance will be available for purchase here beginning Friday, September 15.

A Previously Banned Pepsi Commercial Featuring Madonna Was Aired 34 Years Later At The 2023 MTV VMAs

Madonna has never been one to hold back. Over the course of her four-decade-long career, she’s delivered pop perfection, and she’s ruffled some feathers along the way.

In 1989, Madonna released “Like A Prayer,” the lead single and title track from her fourth studio album. While the song remains one of her signature hits, its accompanying video was the subject of controversy at the time of its release.

The video features Madonna seeking refuge in a church after witnessing an assault and murder, and kissing a statue of a saint that turns into a human man. There was also a Madonna Pepsi commercial that aired a few times on television at the time, but Pepsi quickly pulled the ad amid backlash surrounding the music video.

The commercial finally aired again last night (September 12) during the MTV Video Music Awards, as part of Pepsi’s new campaign, “celebrating 40 years of disrupting the status quo.”

After the awards ceremony, Madonna took to Twitter to thank Pepsi for sharing the commercial again, despite keeping it in the vault for 34 years.

“34 years ago I made a commercial with Pepsi to celebrate the release of my song ‘Like a Prayer,’ said Madonna. “The commercial was immediately canceled when I refused to change any scenes in the video where I was kissing a black saint or burning crosses. So began my illustrious career as an artist refusing to compromise my artistic integrity. Thank you @pepsi for finally realizing the genius of our collaboration. [smiling emoji] Artists are here to disturb the peace.”
