Over the weekend, the simultaneous North American treks landed in Seattle, Washington, where Sheeran promoted Autumn Variations at Starbucks. His Subtract Tour show happened on Friday, August 25, at Paramount Theatre, and then Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour lit up Lumen Field on Saturday, August 26. The latter featured proud Seattleite Macklemore.
“That was insane. 81,000 people and a Lumen Field record,” Macklemore captioned an Instagram carousel. “The entire show/production/you as a human…The best. Thank you for having me Ed.”
Macklemore and Sheeran also jointly posted an Instagram Reel that captured their performance of “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us.” Sheeran captioned it, “What a moment, bringing out @macklemore in Seattle for a home crowd. Will never forget that energy in the stadium. Thank you Ben for your time, and your city rocks x”
Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour is scheduled to visit BC Place in Vancouver, BC on September 2, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 9, and Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on September 16 before its finale on September 23 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Mirroring the Mathematics Tour schedule, Sheeran’s more intimate Subtract Tour will finish out at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre on September 1, Oakland’s Fox Theater on September 15, and Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on September 22.
Autumn Variations is out 9/29 via Gingerbread Man Records. Find more information here.

It did not take long for the new reality to set in on Bayless that he is not in control of his show anymore now that there are three others on the desk, capable of derailing the show with their own arguments that he doesn’t get to be involved in. Naturally, one of the first of those came in a discussion of the Dallas Cowboys, in which Michael Irvin explained that he had told star receiver CeeDee Lamb to catch the ball more with his body rather than his hands to try and avoid some of his drop issues.
Now, if that runs counter to everything you’ve ever heard about catching the ball as a receiver, you aren’t alone as Richard Sherman immediately told the Playmaker that was the worst advice he’s ever heard, leading to an incredible Irvin rant while Skip could only sit there and take it all in.
Richard Sherman said Michael Irvin gave ceedee lamb bad advice because he told him to learn how to catch the ball with your body instead of your hands & Michael Irvin went off pic.twitter.com/Ekc3tYbVHG

Keyshawn does his best to get things back on track and be a translator of sorts between what Irvin was trying to say — which is, in traffic, catching close to the body helps relieve tension and avoids drops — and what Sherman was getting out of it. The biggest takeaway here really is that Skip is now a passenger on his own show and that, in and of itself, is very funny to see.
Quavo gets away from all to relax and vent while offroading in the video for “11.11” from his new album, Rocket Power. While the whole album is dedicated to his late bandmate/nephew Takeoff, “11.11” is one of the songs that most heavily focuses on Quavo’s sense of loss and frustration. In it, he reflects on both Takeoff’s death and the fracture between them and fellow Migos member Offset on the day of Takeoff’s funeral, which took place on November 11th, 2022.
Meanwhile, in the video, Quavo drives a four-wheeler down a forest path, then finds space to light up and reflect on the brotherhood between him, Offset, and Takeoff. “I watched my brother Takeoff go to heaven, an angel,” he raps. “We celebrate eleven-eleven.” And of Offset, he says he can still count on him despite their past friction, rhyming, “I’ll call on him if I need a partner / Even though what he did was kinda / It’s bigger than us and let’s not remind her / We together, n****, get the chopper.”
At the time of Takeoff’s death, he and Quavo were wrapping up the rollout of their album Only Built For Infinity Links, and Offset was on the outs with his former crew. However, in the wake of Takeoff’s death, Quavo and Offset did eventually put their past differences behind them to pay tribute to him at the 2023 BET Awards.
At the end of this week, the Power Universe will make its way back to television screens all over thanks to Power Book IV: Force. The Tommy Egan-led show will premiere its second season on September 1, and it turns out that it’s just the beginning for the Power Universe in 2023 into 2024. STARZ announced today that Power Book III: Raising Kanan season three will premiere on December 1. That comes a little over a year after the show’s second season ended with Raquel, Marvin, and Lou-Lou absorbing a coordinated attack from the Italian mob.
The news about Power Book III: Raising Kanan season three also comes with new photos that give a new look into the new season. They give us a first look at new cast members Wendell Pierce and Erika Woods as “Snaps” and “Pop” Henry, as well as Grantham Coleman as “Ronnie.” Other photos give us a season three preview of Patina Thomas as “Raquel Thomas,” Mekai Curtis as “Kanan Thomas,” and Tony Danza who reprises his role as the Italian mobster “Stefano Marchetti.”
In an interview with Uproxx after the season two finale, Power Book III: Raising Kananshowrunner Sascha Penn spoke about what to expect for the show’s third season:
I do think that in season three, there’s a lot that happens, and there are some new characters that emerge. We’ve done, I think, a very decent job pacing this thing out so we can get to where we are now. Like I said to you earlier, if you don’t care about these characters, you’re not going to care about the show. We’ve spent a good amount of time over the past two seasons developing these characters, making them feel human, and exploring their humanity. I think we’ve done a good enough job that people are responding well, right? So I think if you liked the finale, you’re going to really, really like season three because season three continues on with the groundwork that the finale laid out.

In 2009, four stars of the then-new The CW series The Vampire Diaries were arrested for allegedly flashing motorists from a bridge in Georgia. Nina Dobrev, Candice Accola, Sara Canning, Nina Dobrev, and Kayla Ewell, as well as photographer Tyler Shields and actress Krystal Vayda (who wasn’t on the show), “were taken into custody, paid a fine to a bonding company, and were released the same day,” according to reports at the time. Despite the accusation, the only flashing that took place was the flash from a camera.
The actress says while on a road trip with her castmates (the show shoots nearby), the group decided to stop to take pictures on a bridge. That’s when they were rushed by Monroe County cops. “They were like, ‘We’re getting calls that people are flashing,’” Ewell says. “And we’re like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa.’” The actress says that after showing police their photos, the group was asked to follow officials to the police station, where they were ticketed for loitering on a public walkway.
“I have no idea,” Ewell told Entertainment Weekly when asked why they were accused of lifting their shirts. “We are not the type of girls who flash our breasts. In all honesty, the size of my breasts aren’t necessarily something people would be interested in. It’s so ridiculous. I would never do that.”
And yet, the rumor persists, so much so that nearly 15 years after the incident, Carina Adly Mackenzie, a writer for The Vampire Diaries spin-off series The Originals, settled it once and for all.
“Okay I’m saying it. They were doing a photo shoot (not for TVD, just for a photographer friend) on the bridge. The ‘flashing’ reported by drivers was A CAMERA FLASH and it was misinterpreted by the officer. The misunderstanding was cleared up and everybody went home,” she tweeted.

After Donald Trump’s mughshot finally arrived to the delight of many, right-wingers on social media quickly attempted to shift the narrative by claiming that Trump’s arrest actually makes him a badass “gangsta” like Tupac Shakur. MAGA world really went for it, and Fox News didn’t hesitate to join in.
While appearing on the latest episode of The Ingraham Angle, Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo claimed that he’s been getting word from the streets that Trump has assumed a bold new outlaw persona.
“That mugshot situates Trump in a cultural context that I’m not sure his enemies may have anticipated,” Arroyo said. “Now he joins Frank Sinatra, he joins Elvis Presley, he joins Johnny Cash, and Tupac Shakur.”
Arroya didn’t stop there as he claimed to have heard from a “Black lady” that Trump has “cred” now. It’s a miracle Arroyo didn’t say the former president is jiggy with it. The bomb dot com, as the young bloods are often saying.
“He is now seen by nonpolitical folks as a rebel, an outsider with swagger, and as one Black lady I spoke with earlier today here in New Orleans said, ‘Trump’s a gangsta’, and that means he has cred among a new block of voters that perhaps have never given him a serious look and now they are looking again. This is interesting what’s happened here.”
Of course, Trump couldn’t help but lock down his gangsta persona by spending the weekend talking about golf and complaining that he can’t golf in other countries where there are more golf courses that he likes. He’s straight outta Compton.
Electric Zoo Festival’s 2023 lineup is preparing to light up Randall’s Island Park in New York, New York on September 1, 2 and 3. The holiday weekend is so close, so it’s time for fans to start planning to see the likes of Marshmello, The Chainsmokers, and Zedd.

Keeping up with new music can be exhausting, even impossible. From the weekly album releases to standalone singles dropping on a daily basis, the amount of music is so vast it’s easy for something to slip through the cracks. Even following along with the Uproxx recommendations on a daily basis can be a lot to ask, so every Monday we’re offering up this rundown of the best new music this week.
This week saw Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus have a classic Disney Channel face-off with competing new singles. Yeah, it was a great week for new music. Check out the highlights below.
Gomez fans are anxiously awaiting a new album from Gomez, and while the status of that is still TBD, she offered a tantalizing taste of it last week with “Single Soon.” The track is a midtempo pop romp in the vein of Taylor Swift’s “Style” and it sees Gomez celebrating her impending independence.
Miley Cyrus — “Used To Be Young”
Hi, it’s Miley Cyrus and you’re not watching Disney Channel. It kind of felt like it last week, though, with both Gomez and Cyrus dropping new singles. Cyrus is only 30 years old, but with how long she’s been in the public eye, there’s plenty to reflect on when she sings about how she “Used To Be Young” on her introspective new single.
Omar Apollo — “Ice Slippin”
Apollo has his Live For Me EP on the way, which he previewed last week with “Ice Slippin.” He’s in his feelings on this one, as it sees him dealing with rejection after coming out, as well as heartbreak.
Conan Gray — “Winner”
Gray’s “Never Ending Song” was upbeat and ’80s-inspired, but he goes in a different, more vulnerable direction on his newest single, “Winner.” The tune is an emotional rock ballad on which Gray sings about trying to prove his worth.
Gucci Mane — “There I Go” Feat. J. Cole and Mike Will Made-It
Gucci Mane is an icon and he got a couple other ones to join him on “There I Go.” J. Cole and Mike Will Made-It also appear on the track, which features self-assured lyrics like, “Gucci Mane and J. Cole the collaboration / They poked the bear and woke the bear up out of hibernation / These boys exaggeratin’, do a lot of fabrication / But ain’t no gimmicks in my gang, this sh*t ain’t animations.”
Blackpink — “The Girls”
Soon-to-be Asian Hall Of Fame inductees Blackpink continued their domination of K-pop last week with “The Girls.” The track is a justifiably confident pop/rap banger on which the group brags about all the reasons why they really shouldn’t be trifled with.
Victoria Monét — “Hollywood” Feat. Earth, Wind & Fire and Hazel Monét
For a minute, it looked like Jaguar II might not come out, but at long-last, Monét’s long-awaited album is here. One track that immediately jumps out on the tracklist is “Hollywood,” which features Earth, Wind & Fire and Hazel Monét and is a smooth look at fame.
Mitski — “Star”
Mitski’s The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We is just weeks away now, and a few days ago, Mitski decided to tease it with a pair of new songs. Of “Star,” Uproxx’s Alex Gonzalez writes, “Mistki delivers chilling, ghostly lines over an organ, as she describes the feeling of holding onto a special love throughout various universes and phases.”
Ashnikko — “Dying Star” Feat. Ethel Cain
Weedkiller wasn’t released in June like was originally intended, but it’s out now and it’s worth the wait. Among the highlights are the Ethel Cain collaboration “Dying Star,” an immense, atmospheric, brooding tune on which both singers’ voices play perfectly well together.
Uproxx’s Philip Cosores saw Bryan live recently and he was beyond impressed. In his concert review, he wrote in part, “Zach Bryan is a lot more than America’s next great country singer or songwriter, he’s a must-see phenomenon with appeal that transcends genre. In concert, it’s infectious and instantly apparent. He didn’t perform a single song off the new album of Wednesday night, despite it being two days from release. He’s literally turning out the tunes faster than he can support them. And while during the pandemic it became difficult to know what streaming sensations had real-world appeal, Bryan has left nothing ambiguous. He’s a bona fide star, and he’s only burning brighter.”
Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
