Who Will Return For ‘The Night Agent’ Season 3?

The Night Agent
Netflix

The Night Agent is switching courses again, and that’s probably for the best after a windy second season. The United Nations-connected plot with Noor (Arienne Mandi) and the bizarre lab scenes surrounding Operation Foxglove appeared to drag on for too long, and perhaps that was down to the show needing to fill ten episodes. In streaming terms, that’s rather long, especially considering that both Slow Horses and The Diplomat have honed tighter seasons that leave their audiences wanting more.

Still, viewers turned out, and the third The Night Agent season is already in the thick of filming, having already wrapped an episode in Istanbul before moving back to NYC. We already know that Peter accepted a new type of Night Action assignment, not that he had much of a choice as given by Catherine Weaver (Amanda Warren). He will now move onto double-agent status, but of course, there’s the question of who will be with him.

Who Will Return In The Night Agent Season 3?

Netflix

Surprisingly, Amanda Warren has not been explicitly confirmed to be back as Catherine Weaver, although she does seem essential to keep tabs on Peter’s comings and goings, especially given his vulnerable legal status.

Tom Power/Netflix

First season veteran Fola Evans-Akingbola will be back (now as a regular) as Chelsea Arrington. As showrunner Shawn Ryan previously declared, he really adored Fola’s performance, and “[I]t really pained me to have to call her between seasons one and two, and say, hey, the writers had been working for a few weeks, and we’re gravitating towards stories that I don’t think we have a role for you in… I’m sorry … if there’s a chance to get you back on the show at some point, I would love to do it.” Now, it’s happening.

Netflix

The return of Rose (Luciane Buchanan) is unconfirmed and not looking great. If I had to guess, my gut is saying that the series could give Rose a break and bring her back, as with Chelsea. Or Rose could be a focus of those spin offs that are surely in discussions after word that Shawn Ryan inked an overall deal to make more TV for Netflix and possibly expand The Night Agent universe.

Luciane Buchanan has admitted about Rose, “I have no idea” about a comeback. She further pointed out that Rose (even though Peter told her to forget him) “does whatever she wants,” so who knows? Yet Shawn Ryan suggested that he didn’t want to bring Rose and Peter back together just because, which could seem “artificial,” and “[t]he last thing we would do is manufacture crisis after crisis season after season that feel artificial to keep them together.”

Who else?

Gabriel Basso will obviously be back as the one and only Peter Sutherland. Deadline reported that he will be accompanied by series veterans Evans-Akingbola (as Chelsea), Albert Jones (as Deputy Director Aidan Mosely), and Ward Horton (as Governor Richard Hagan).

New characters will also be portrayed by Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon a Time), Stephen Moyer (True Blood), Genesis Rodriguez (Lioness), Callum Vinson (Long Bright River), Suraj Sharma (Life of Pi), and David Lyons (Safe Haven).

The Night Agent streams on on Netflix.

Lizzo Drops ‘Still Bad,’ Which Started As A Country Song But Ended Up With A Funkier Sound

Lizzo has launched a full-blown comeback in recent weeks, starting with the song “Love In Real Life” last month. That’s also the title of her upcoming album, and now we’ve gotten another taste of it via today’s (March 13) new song, “Still Bad.”

Lizzo told Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe that while the song is funk- and disco-sounding now, it actually started as a country song:

“Recording ‘Still Bad’ was interesting because it started off as a country song and it was like, ‘I don’t need them, I need a drink.’ I think this song is so interesting because like it was just… the sentiment was more important than the sound. The lyrics had to come from that, ‘I lost my dog, I need some whiskey,’ kind of deep sadness or country kind of rhetoric.

Then finding the sound was so long and tedious. I’m telling you, if I could do an album of just versions of ‘Still Bad,’ I’d have like a 10-track album. We had like a super indie sleaze version. We had like a super Coachella, Blood Orange, 2016 version. We had the country version. We had a super fast, like almost punk version. This song has had so many iterations because… We had like a Franz Ferdinand kind of version where we wanted to like change the tempo. So I think finding this sound I’m so proud of, but we had to like really dig for this song, for this record, for the music.”

She also said of her album, “I think that real life is the only place that love exists. It’s [called] Love In Real Life because I think that I have mistaken the sort of gratification that you get from social media as love. Because there was a time that in real life I wasn’t reaching out to the people who were closest to me or I was in isolation. The internet was the only place I felt seen and appreciated. I would post a lot on Instagram, or Twitter, or on TikTok, and I would get my emotions off, and it felt like a friend, and it felt like a therapist. I think it was a safe space for me until it wasn’t.”

The Spurs Pranked Stephon Castle By Taking All The Wheels Off His Car

Instagram

Rookies in the NBA always have to be on the lookout for a prank, especially when it comes to their car, but typically the concern for a young player is that they’ll leave their keys in their locker and come back to the parking lot to find it’s been filled with popcorn.

The San Antonio Spurs decided to up the ante on car pranks with rookie Stephon Castle, as the Rookie of the Year contender went out to his car on Wednesday night after a win over the Mavs and found that his car was on blocks after his teammates stole all four wheels off of his Toyota Supra.

Taking the wheels is truly a wild prank and Castle was ready to scrap when he turned the corner to see his car on blocks. While he wasn’t pleased, his teammates found the whole thing very funny, unsurprisingly. In his presser after the game, De’Aaron Fox explained why he didn’t feel bad for Castle, noting he doesn’t do any of the typical rookie duties of carrying bags or bringing food for everyone on the team plane. Even so, Fox also noted that he’s never seen someone’s wheels get taken and thought that was pretty crazy. I will say, as long as there wasn’t any damage done when setting the car on the blocks, this is a much easier and cheaper prank to come back from than getting popcorned, as that’s a pricey detailing charge and this just makes you work on your pit crew skills.

SNX: This Week’s Best Sneaker Drops, Including The Jordan 9 Cool Grey, Nigel Sylvester Jordan 4 Brick By Brick, & More

SNX_march_11(1024x450)
Uproxx

Welcome to SNX DLX, your weekly roundup of the best sneakers to hit the internet. Things are looking up for March. After a stumble out the gate (especially compared to the fire month that was February), we’re finally getting the sort of releases that’ll have you on the fence about where exactly to throw your money. That’s bad news for your bank account but great news for your ever-growing collection of kicks.

This week brings some new colorways on old classics and new silhouettes, like the Jordan 9 and AE 1, and a handful of dope highly anticipated collaborations, like Salehe Bembury’s latest from New Balance or BMX star Nigel Sylvester’s latest Jordan. We’ll put it this way — this week, you may be looking at a few sneakers that’ll end up on our best sneakers of 2025 list come year’s end. Yes, the collaborations are that good.

So, without further ado, let’s dive into the best sneakers of the week.

Salehe Bembury x New Balance 991v2 Colors Be The Palette

New Balance

Price: $250

Salehe Bembury is one of the greatest sneaker designers of the modern era, and because of this, it frustrates sneakerheads that he spends most of his time on the Pollex Clog Crocs collaboration. It’s not that we don’t love the Pollex Clog, it’s just that clogs are a very specific niche in the sneaker market, and most people were introduced to Bembury via his New Balance collaborations. Well, good news, because Bembury has linked up with New Balance once again for a new take on the 991v2.

Dubbed “Colors Be The Palette,” this 991 features a hairy suede upper in violet with contrasting color block accents and the brand’s MADE in UK premium construction. It’s a reminder that Bembury is a once-in-a-generation sneaker designer. We look forward to his future PUMA collaboration and anything else he does with NB.

The Salehe Bembury x New Balance 991v2 Colors Be The Palette is set to drop on March 13th for a retail price of $250. Pick up a pair at Beaspunge.

Adidas Adistar Cushion SFTM

Adidas

price: $160

Australian art-fashion brand Song for the Mute has teamed up with Adidas for a deconstructed and collapsible version of the Adistar silhouette. The upper is composed of unlined open mesh with nubuck overlays, a pony hair-adorned top cap, distressed midsole, and plush Adiprene cushioning. The sneaker drops in two colorways, both featuring muted industrial tones.

The Adidas Adistar Cushion SFTM is set to drop on March 13th at 10:00 AM PST for a retail price of $160. Pick up a pair at Adidas.

Nike Air Foamposite One Black and Volt

Nike

Price: $230

Penny Hardaway’s Foamposite One is back with a bold new colorway that’s giving us vintage X-Box vibes. The sneaker features a lightweight foam upper in a stark black colorway with a Volt green midsole and matching accents.

Rounding out the design is Hardaway’s iconic 1¢ logo stitched into the heel.

The Nike Air Foamposite One Black and Volt is set to drop on March 14th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $230. Pick up a pair via the Nike SNKRS app or aftermarkets sites like GOAT and Flight Club.

Nike Jordan 4 Nigel Brick By Brick

Nike

Price: $225

Last year, we named BMX star Nigel Sylvester’s Jordan team up as one of the best sneakers of the year, and by the looks of it, we’ll probably be including this week’s new sneaker as well. The Brick by Brick features a leather upper in Firewood Orange with a Sal midsole and Cinnabar underlays. It’s bold, bright, and calls attention to itself, a nice contrast to last year’s Nigel, which was a bit more muted.

This sneaker is inspired by Nigel’s “belief in tenacity and progress.” It’s about building up your game, brick by brick — a reminder that virtuoso talent requires dedication and hard work. It is easily our favorite sneaker of the week.

The Nike Jordan 4 Nigel Brick By Brick is set to drop on March 14th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $225. Pick up a pair via the Nike SNKRS app or at aftermarket sites like GOAT and Flight Club.

CNCPTS x New Balance 1000 Mile

CNCPTS

Price: TBA

Boston Massachusetts heritage brand CNCPTS has teamed up with New Balance for the latest take on the 1000 silhouette. This silhouette is enjoying a sort of renaissance right now, and as big fans of the shape, we’re here for it!

Inspired by the 1890 $1000 Treasury Note — commonly known as The Grand Watermelon — this sneaker features an inverted 1000 design with mesh underlays and synthetic overlays, a segmented ABZORB sole, and a green color scheme with hints of hot pink (referencing the bill’s design).

Rounding out the design are embroidered details and dual branding. We’re loving the look here, definitely file this one into the “Best Of 2025” hopefuls list.

The CNCPTS x New Balance 1000 Mile is set to drop on March 14th. Enter the drawing here.

Adidas Anthony Edwards Arctic Night

Adidas

Price: $110

Another week, another new colorway of the AE-1. Adidas is going hard on this silhouette, and we hope that doesn’t end up weakening the impact of how dope this sneaker looks. Take note from Nike, Adidas: scarcity sells!

This new colorway, Arctic Night, features an iridescent metallic mix of blue, green, and black tones. It looks like something out of an H.R. Giger art piece!

The Adidas Anthony Edwards Arctic Night is set to drop on Saturday, March 15th, at 12:00 AM PST for a retail price of $110. Pick up a pair at Adidas.

Nike Air Jordan 9 Cool Grey

Nike

Price: $210
Closing out the week is the return of the Cool Grey AJ-9. One of the silhouettes best colorways, the Cool Grey features a monochromatic design with a mixed nubuck and patent leather upper, a padded collar, and Nike’s “one-pull” lacing system for quick wear-ability. In keeping with the OG design, the sneaker features Air cushioning, Jumpman emblem branding, and a “23” at the heel.

The Nike Air Jordan 9 Cool Grey is set to drop on Saturday, March 15th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $210. Pick up a pair via the Nike SNKRS app or aftermarket sites like GOAT and Flight Club.

Jessie Reyez, Sabrina Claudio, and Kyle Dion R&B recap image
Getty Image/Merle Cooper

Sometimes the best new R&B can be hard to find, but there are plenty of great rhythm-and-blues tunes to get into if you have the time to sift through the hundreds of newly released songs every week. So that R&B heads can focus on listening to what they love in its true form, we’ll be offering a digest of the best new R&B songs that fans of the genre should hear every Friday.

Since the last update of this weekly R&B column, we’ve received plenty of music and news from the genre’s artists.

Jessie Reyez announced her new album Paid In Memories with her “Psilocybin & Daisies” single and Sabrina Claudio made her return with “Need U To Need Me.” Miguel joined J-Hope for “Sweet Dreams” while Wizkid dropped an elegant video for “Kese (Dance).” Elsewhere, SiR announced he Step Into The Light Tour, Tyla released the video for her “Push 2 Start” remix with Sean Paul, and Angie Stone tragically passed away at 63 following a car crash.

Here are the new music releases you need to listen to:

Jessie Reyez — “Psilocybin & Daisies”

Jessie Reyez announced her third album Paid In Memories with her new single “Psilocybin & Daisies.” The song, which interpolates Smashing Pumpkins’ “1979,” is the sixth single from Reyez’s upcoming album, is one that the singer uses to plead for an everlasting love. As for Paid In Memories, it will arrive on March 28.

Sabrina Claudio — “Need U To Need Me”

This year marks the start of a new chapter for Sabrina Claudio as she begins a new partnership with independent record label Empire. That partnership was brought forth her new vulnerable single “Need U To Need Me.” “I wrote ‘Need U To Need Me’ as a fear-based admission,” Claudio said about the song. “A romanticized translation of longing and yearning to be a necessity to the ones you love most.”

Kyle Dion — “No Gravity”

Kyle Dion has a new album on the way, and while we’ll have to wait some time for information on that, his new single “No Gravity” is here to hold us down in the meantime. With this record, Dion’s trademark contemporary blend of R&B, funk, and soul leads the way as he sings of break free from life’s restrictions. “This song is about hitting a low point and craving freedom — to dance, to escape, to just feel nothing but the moment,” Dion said about the song in a press release. “It’s about letting go of everything weighing you down, shedding it all, and floating into the night.”

Mack Keane — Entries

After nearly three years without a project, following 2022’s Intersections with producer ESTA., LA singer Mack Keane is back with his second solo project, Entries. The 10-track came about as Keane was “jotting down my feelings to a beat that I made,” he told Uproxx. He continued, “It just came about naturally where I was like, I can make this a thing. I could do a little mixtape, or a tape, or a project that’s these journal entries to reintroduce Mack in a way.”

Dende — “Need U Like”

Dende has been a mainstay on this column over the years, and following a newly-inked Def Jam deal, he’s a name you’ll have to keep your eye on in R&B in the next upcoming months. Start with “Need U Like,” Dende’s infectious new single that serves as a profession of love to a significant other that he just can’t keep his hands and his eyes off of.

Iyla — “Wild”

For her second record of the year, LA singer Iyla checks back in with “Wild.” The sultry record captures the burning passion and desire that can exist in a relationship, whether it be for better or for worse. ‘Wild’ unleashes the story of a once innocent relationship that quickly turns dark,” Iyla said in a press release. “I used nature as a way to reflect our own animalistic senses, and to show the tug of war between desire and danger wrapped up in a woman’s need to break free from toxicity and control.”

JAY1 & Hunxho — “Prettier”

At the end of 2024, UK rapper JAY1 released his project Sorry I’m Late, which spawned the hit record “Prettier.” To extend the song’s life, JAY1 tapped Hunxho to deliver a remix of the song. Hunxho gives the song a boost with a slick verse that fits perfectly with the song’s narrative.

Byron Juane & Omeretta The Great — “Atlanta Girls”

With his deluxe reissue of A Night About You out on March 21, Byron Juane returns with “Atlanta Girls” alongside Omeretta The Great. The North Carolina singer teams up with Atlanta’s Omeretta, who went viral in 2022 for her “Sorry Not Sorry” single, for the track that shouts out the best women in the famed city down south.

Aaron Page — “Pretty Girls Like R&B”

Connecticut-bred and Houston-based singer Aaron Page is back to work in 2025 with his new song “Pretty Girls Like R&B.” Over a sexy drill beat, Page glides with ease as he sings about a woman who’s caught his eye and his hope to use his R&B skills to win her over.

LALA — “Pressure”

After ending 2024 with her Lalaland EP, UK singer LALA gets back to work with her new single “Pressure.” The sweet and passionate record finds Lala pouring her heart out over a new partner as she sings, “You give me space, I give it too / You make love to me, I make love to you.”

Larrenwong — 4th & Long

Nearly a year after releasing the deluxe edition of Greenroom EP, California singer Larrenwong delivers another project in the form of his 4th & Long EP. Six songs make up this project for another showcase of Larrenswong’s blossoming talents.

When Will ‘Severance’ Season 2 Episode 9 Be Available To Stream?

severance-mark-helly-lg
Apple TV+

Apple TV+‘s water-cooler show, Severance, will soon air a second season finale. How did that happen so quickly? Only a few months ago, the cast was teasing Collider about how they imagined that people would take the next cliffhanger ending. Adam Scott guessed, “I hope they’ll say the exact same thing, ‘Holy F, I need Season 3.” To which creator Dan Erickson suggested, “I hope that they’ll all race to the bathroom because they will have been holding it the whole time. So, they’ll be like, ‘Get out of the way!’” And Scott wrapped that thought up in a bow by exclaiming, “So it’s wild peeing, all in unison saying, ‘Holy F, I need Season 3.’”

Probably accurate? We’ll soon find out, but first, we gotta talk about the penultimate episode’s arrival.

When Will Severance Season 2, Episode 9 Be Available?

March 14. This week’s episode, “The After Hours,” will arrive with this description: “Outie Mark and Devon team with an unexpected ally to enact a plan. Innie Helly investigates Mark’s absence while Dylan receives hard news.”

Following last week’s Ms. Cobel-centered story, Patricia Arquette spoke with Variety and danced around the subject of Mark’s successful reintegration procedure. However and when quizzed about the odd way that Ms. Cobel pronounces “Mark,” Arquette believes that this pronunciation is driven by “an old world-ishness” of where Harmony originated, and how “authority has this certain tone. If you think about a drill sergeant, there’s a certain kind of meter and a certain kind of tone and a certain kind of authority… I think she had formed a sound based on her idea of what that is.” Fair.

And now, back to the Innie world and a frantic Helly.

Freddie Gibbs Appears To Diss J. Cole, Jpegmafia, And Benny The Butcher A Fiery New Song, ‘The Big 2’

Freddie Gibbs, it would seem, wants smoke: Yesterday (March 12), he shared a new song called “The Big 2,” which sees him directing his ire towards a handful of his fellow rappers.

The first perceived slight is with the song title itself, as “The Big 2” could be seen as dismissing J. Cole after he backed out of the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef.

As HotNewHipHop notes, Gibbs seems to go after Benny The Butcher, with whom he’s had beef for some time now, when he raps, “I seen my ex ho with the opps, I never get into drama / They both got crackhead mommas, they got some sh*t in common.” The publication also highlights the line, “My naked ass got more promo than your album / Man, this really ain’t no challenge,” supposedly a reference to how a leaked nude photo of Gibbs from earlier this year got more attention than Jpegmafia’s 2024 album I Lay Down My Life For You.

This comes after Gibbs dissed Cole over his recent song “Clouds,” writing on social media, “N****z be rapping about how they kill rappers and kill they careers and blah blah blah but he backing outta rap beefs [laughing emoji][thinking emoji][yawning emoji].”

Chappell Roan Insists She’s ‘Not Switching Genres’ Despite Her Upcoming Country Single

Getty Image

At 8 p.m. ET today (March 13), Chappell Roan is set to release her new country-inspired single, “The Giver.” However, this doesn’t mean she’s moving away away from the pop her fans have come to love.

In an Instagram post shared earlier this month, Roan explained, “I have such a special place in my heart for country music. I grew up listening to it every morning and afternoon on my school bus and had it swirling around me at bon fires, grocery stores and karaoke bars. Many people have asked if this means I’m making a country album??? My answer is.. hmm right now I’m just making songs that make me feel happy and fun and The Giver is my take on c*ntry.”

As Billboard notes, in an upcoming Apple Music interview, Roan says the track was inspired by Big & Rich’s hit “Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy),” saying, “I was like, ‘I want to feel that way on stage. I want to feel that.’ Because that’s how I write. I’m like, ‘How do I want to walk around on stage and sing?’ And I was like, ‘I want to write that song, but Chappell’s version.’”

As for her country pivot, Roan says it’s not permanent: “I really just did it for fun. I’m not switching genres or anything.”

Oasis’ Reunion Tour Is Being Turned Into A Movie Produced By The Creator Of ‘Peaky Blinders’

Oasis Liam Gallagher Noel Gallagher 2024
Simon Emmett

Oasis — a notoriously chill band — are going on tour for the first time since 2009 beginning this July. Along the way, they will be filmed for a movie about the reunion, produced by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace (Meet Me In The Bathroom).

A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but Sony Music Vision will distribute the movie, and it’s being produced by Magna Studios, which has also produced Beastie Boys Story and Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now.

Earlier this week, Liam Gallagher got into a tiff, as he is wont to do, with an NME report over the band that will join him and Noel on tour. “NME tell me who your source pots are that keep giving you info about OASIS and I’ll give you an exclusive interview about up n coming OASIS tour you can have it all but how much do you want it LG x,” he wrote on X. In a follow-up post, he added, “It’s not the lineup reveal I’m bothered about I’ll reveal that to you in a minute I’m more bothered about the line where it says a source close to the band and tour that really causes me a great deal of concern LG x.”

Liam then revealed the lineup himself: Tony McCarroll, Alan White, Zak Starkey, and Chris Sharrock — except those are all former Oasis drummers.

This movie is going to be great.
