On Wednesday, just over a month after Mitch McConnell suffered a disturbing freezing-up episode, it happened again. Eerily, this time it happened as he was being asked if he would run for office again. The incident prompted some to call on the Senate Majority Leader, now 81, to resign. But when asked about it, despite frequently being at loggerheads, President Joe Biden took the high road.

While wrapping up a press conference, Biden addressed the elephant in the room. “By the way, I just heard literally coming out and Mitch is a friend, as you know — not a joke,” he told reporters. “Well, you know, people don’t believe that’s the case, but we have disagreements politically, but he’s a good friend.”

Biden said he was going to check in with him, but admitted he was a bit fuzzy on the details, adding, “I don’t know enough to know.”

Both Biden and McConnell are from another age, when lawmakers from different parties — even those in key places in power — found ways to get along. Biden has many reasons to potentially dislike McConnell; for one thing he’s openly bragged about unfairly blocking Obama from replacing Judge Antonin Scalia’s seat on the Supreme Court in 2016. But for Biden, here the personal outweighed the political.

It’s also a stark contrast from what Donald Trump, who openly hates McConnell (and says racist things about his wife), would say about his health issues had he won re-election. The former president has yet to comment on his second such episode.

In related news, Biden also discussed working with Ron DeSantis, a potential (albeit, now, unlikely) rival in 2024, on helping Florida with Hurricane Idalia. Biden had good words about him, too.

“No, believe it or not, I know this sounds strange, especially how the nature of politics today. But, you know, I was down there when the last major storm,” Biden said. “I spent a lot of time with him walking from from community to community, making sure he had what he needed to get it done.”

He added, “I think he trusts my judgment and my desire to help. And I trust him to be able to suggest this is not about politics, is about taking care of the people of this state.”

Bad Bunny is also challenged to explain “Titi Me Preguntó” in 10 seconds, which he calls “impossible” because the song encapsulates “a lifetime of love and romance.” But he plays along anyway.

“What I can say in ten seconds is that it’s a song that was born very spontaneously in the Dominican Republic. MAG was swimming in the pool while I was trying to create the beat and write it,” he says. “All of the people mentioned in the song exist in real life. Um, what about Kendall Jenner, Benito? It would appear that his difficulties with falling in love have subsided, as Bad Bunny has been linked to Jenner since February. Neither party has explicitly confirmed the relationship, though they’ve attended many public events together. On August 9, The Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye) performed “Another One Of Me,” an unreleased song, in Warsaw, Poland, which he billed as “the last feature I ever do ever in my career.” On Wednesday, August 30, Diddy provided more context.

“IT’S OFFICIAL @THEWEEKND’S LAST COLLAB OF HIS CAREER WILL BE ON… THE LOVE ALBUM: OFF THE GRID!” Diddy captioned a teaser posted to Instagram and X (formerly known as Twitter). “‘ANOTHER ONE OF ME’ SEPTEMBER 15TH. WELCOME TO THE LOVE ERA [red heart emoji].”

The all-red video finds Diddy coolin’ on a loveseat and is soundtracked by Tesfaye’s soaring falsetto: “Another one of me won’t come around again.”

Diddy’s Instagram comments section was quickly populated by the likes of Yung Miami (“Waves on swimmmmmmmmnn”) and Ty Dolla Sign (five flame emojis). Even NFL Hall Of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice couldn’t contain his excitement, writing, “Let’s GOAT [football emoji, goat emoji, flex emoji].”

Last week, Diddy announced The Love Album: Off The Grid will arrive on September 15 alongside a trailer featuring Tesfaye, Justin Bieber, and Mary J. Blige.

With “Another One Of Me” coming soon, Tesfaye’s fans have something to look forward to after the cancellation of The Idol, his controversial HBO series. The Idol aired five episodes earlier this summer. News of its cancellation broke on August 28.

There’s no denying that a wedding day is a special memory most people want to hold onto for the rest of their lives. It’s the reason people spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on wedding pictures and hand out disposable cameras to guests—to capture memories from all angles, including behind-the-scenes moments that you may forget due to the nerves beforehand.

One mother of the bride decided to take her daughter’s beautiful wedding photos and create a special personalized photo album. But upon further inspection of the gift, the bride noticed that something was amiss. Niki Hunt, told Good Morning America that when her mom, Sherry Noblett, gave her the wedding album at brunch, she admitted she may have messed up.

“She’s very crafty, so usually when she says something like that, it’s something really small. I’m thinking some of the pictures are askew, or whatever,” Hunt explained to GMA.

The book was a beautiful, sweet gesture for the newlyweds created with Shutterfly, a photo site that allows you to make keepsakes out of your pictures. It appears to be a well-crafted, good-quality album as long as you only look at the photos. When Hunt’s eyes drifted to the captions next to the pictures, she noticed the mistake.

Shutterfly generates automatic generic captions next to the photos, which can be edited to fit what is happening in the pictures. But Noblett either didn’t notice the captions or assumed they wouldn’t show up in the final product if she didn’t edit them. This mishap meant there were wedding pictures next to captions detailing a beach day, time at a park and even the four seasons.

Hunt and her sister could not contain their laughter in the restaurant and decided to record their reaction. The TikTok video has been viewed over 4.2 million times and the comments are full of people joining in on the laughs.

“Not the groomsmen being labeled summer, winter, spring and fall like it’s a spicy calendar,” one person wrote.

“Imagine your great-great-great-great-grandchildren discovering this in a box and reading it with no context lmaooo,” another said.

“When ChatGPT makes a photo album,” someone commented.

Every parent knows that young children will believe just about anything you tell them, within reason. Part of being a parent is becoming a master of the white lie to distract your kids from things they aren’t quite ready to hear or to have some innocent fun.

But when 6-year-old Abby, a popular TikTok personality, heard her dad telling whopper after whopper on a fake job interview, she wouldn’t stand for it. Abby, now 7, is the star of the Along Came Abby TikTok channel with over 3.9 million followers.

Abby’s dad, Andrew Terry, set up a fake job interview with a potential employer where he told lie after lie with his daughter sitting beside him. The point of the prank was to get a reaction out of her. The good news for the Terry family is that she’s obviously a girl with a solid moral compass because she couldn’t stand hearing her dad’s constant lies.

Andrew indicated that the potential employer wanted to see one of his children, so he had Abby sit next to him in the interview.

Abby can’t stand it, so she jumps up and yells, “Cut!”

“Shhh… Abby, Please,” Andrew tells his daughter under his breath. “That’s not true!” Abby retorts.

Andrew regains his composure and then goes on a jag about how after he does the dishes, he bathes the dog so that when his wife gets up, “everything is done.” This is too much for Abby. “Bye!” Abby says before storming off.

But Andrew is able to coax her back for more of his whimsy by noting that his potential employer “is going to hear this.” He then reveals that he only eats vegetables and never any pizza.

“Come on! You eat sugar all day,” Abby tells her dad.

Abby can no longer stand the charade after Andrew admits that when he met her mother, he played centerfield for the New York Yankees. At that point, Abby walks off camera, never to return.

Since being released in November 2022, the video has had over 9.3 million views and has received over 22,000 comments.

“Her moral compass is STRONG,” CylynG2020 wrote.

The video is fun because it shows how even young children pay attention to their parents and know their daily habits. It’s a good reminder for parents everywhere that their kids have an eye on them and to beware of the subconscious examples they’re setting for them on a daily basis.

Is Donald Trump as wealthy as he claims? Is the guy who pockets donations from sometimes cash-strapped supporters, even asks them to help fix his private plane, maybe not that rich? As the former president dips into campaign money to pay for his ever-escalating legal bills, a new report has emerged claiming that over a period of 10 years he used to inflate his net worth not by millions but by billions.

As per NBC News, a new filing made public by New York Attorney General Letitia James alleges that from 2011 to 2021, Trump would use financial statements to inflate his personal earnings. In so doing, he and his Trump Organization associates would fraudulently secure more favorable loans and investments, “reaping hundreds of millions of dollars in ill-gotten savings and profits,” as per the filing.

And Trump didn’t go small. He went big:

According to calculations submitted by prosecutors, Trump routinely overstated his personal financial condition by 17% to nearly 39% from 2011 to 2021, and he overstated his personal financial condition by 17% to 31% while he was in office.

During his first year in office, prosecutors allege, Trump overstated his personal wealth by over $1.1 billion and then overstated his financial condition by $1.9 billion in 2018.

Trump’s inflated net worth went as high as $2.2 billion.

The filing offers some examples of Trump’s alleged underhandedness:

In one instance, they argue, Trump valued undeveloped land at his golf course in Aberdeen, Scotland, based on an assumption that he could build and sell more residential homes than approved by local authorities.

Meanwhile, in the case of his leased property at 40 Wall St. in New York City, Trump at times valued it “at more than twice the appraised value,” they wrote.

Trump also inflated the value of his triplex apartment at Trump Tower by nearly tripling its actual square footage, an error that they argue “inflated the apartment’s value by approximately $100-$200 million each year from 2012 to 2016.”

Trump, of course, denies any wrongdoing, which, like almost all of his allegations, will likely work on fans and no one else.

Post Malone is widely seen as a sweetheart. There are so many examples of his endearing personality that somehow a few particularly charming TikToks of him from August 14 flew relatively under the radar.

The TikTok user Nicole.Brach first posted a TikTok showing her doing the cliched prom pose with Malone, writing atop it, “POV: you drove 14 hours to meet Post Malone.” Next, she posted a young boy posing for a photo with Malone, who asks if he wants anything signed. Malone signs the boy’s green checkered Vans before taking off his own white Converse Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers, signing them, and giving them to the boy.

“WE GOT POSTYS SHOES AND HE SIGNED THEM! This man is the most selfless, genuine and kindest soul there is,” Nicole captioned the second TikTok.

One week later, Nicole posted to TikTok that she’d gotten Malone’s signature tattooed on her wrist.

According to the schedule from Posty’s recently wrapped If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying Tour, in support of his Austin album, the TikToks in question were likely from the meet-and-greet for his August 13 show in San Diego, California, but there is no confirmation as to where this took place. The North American trek ended on August 19 in San Bernardino, California.

Zach Condon is back as Beirut, and he explained the reasoning behind the four-plus-year lag since his last Beirut album, 2019’s Gallipoli. He also announced his forthcoming album Hadsel with the release of “So Many Plans” on Wednesday, August 30.

“SO MANY PLANS. The song was written during the first lockdown in 2020, just when I came back from a two months long period of writing and recording in northern Norway,” Condon captioned an Instagram post on Beirut’s account. “A friend’s lament on their many plans that had to be put on ice became the initial inspiration for this song’s title. That phrase still stuck in my head, I sat down in my attic studio with my newly rediscovered baritone uke and started playing the first chords to the song.”

He continued, “I then added pump organ and some french horn to it, which became somewhat of a triptych for the record. I finished it off with bass and percussion from the modular synth, my big obsession at that time. During the writing process the simple sentence that had started the song came to mean much more than its original intent.”

As per Stereogum‘s Rachel Brodsky, the forthcoming Beirut album is name Hadsel “for the Northern Norwegian island where the performer spent time in 2020.” Condon also provided a statement about his process making the album, which can be read below:

“During my time in Hadsel, I worked hard on the music, lost in a trance and stumbling blindly through my own mental collapse that I had been pushing aside since I was a teenager. It came and rang me like a bell. I was left agonizing many things past and present while the beauty of the nature, the northern lights and fearsome storms played an awesome show around me.

The few hours of light would expose the unfathomable beauty of the mountains and the fjords, and the hours-long twilights would fill me with subdued excitement. I’d like to believe that scenery is somehow present in the music.”
