Diddy Announced The Release Date For His Upcoming Album, ‘The Love Album: Off The Grid’

Earlier this year, Diddy went full-on nude in his video for “Act Bad” with City Girls and Fabolous. The legendary rapper, producer, and exec proved that after all these years he’s still intending to bring the party. Now, he’s back with more.

On Tuesday Diddy announced on Twitter that he’s sharing his fifth studio album called The Love Album: Off The Grid on September 15. “I present to you my new album,” he wrote, also proclaiming, “R&B is alive!” Attached to the tweet is a teaser video that includes Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, and Mary J. Blige.

https://x.com/diddy/status/1694016468239691834?s=46&t=0B7rjHID1V3nNPkYMB-koA

The nearly four minute trailer begins with him contemplating out loud: “Why am I doing this? Especially with the success that I’ve had, especially where my life is, how stressful and treacherous this music industry is. Why would I just come back in here and have to do something that I don’t have to do?” he says. “My heart has been broken. I’ve still got that question of, like, ‘Am I ever gonna love again?’”

Aside from music, he’s also been busy with entrepreneurial endeavors. Just last month, he launched an online marketplace for Black-owned businesses called Empower Global.

The Love Album: Off The Grid is out on 9/15.

A’ja Wilson Tied The WNBA Record For Points In A Game

For the third time in WNBA history, a player has eclipsed the 50-point mark in a game. During Tuesday night’s tilt between the Las Vegas Aces and the Atlanta Dream, reigning WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson had the most prolific game of her career, as she managed to tie the WNBA’s single-game record with 53 points.

The Aces needed the monster night from their superstar forward, with Wilson leading the team to a 112-100 win on the evening. Wilson was her usual brilliant self, as she attacked Atlanta’s defense from the free throw line and in and got essentially anything she wanted. By the time the game reached its conclusion, Wilson converted 16 of her 23 attempts from the field and 20 of her 21 free throws, with only one bucket coming from behind the three-point line. In addition to her scoring prowess, Wilson pitched in seven rebounds and four blocks in 33 minutes of work.

LeBron James praised Wilson for her performance, which just so happened to come as she wore his signature sneakers.

Wilson tied a record set in 2018 by Liz Cambage, who scored 53 points in a Dallas Wings win over the New York Liberty. Her previous career high was 40 points, which she recorded earlier this month against the Washington Mystics.

With the win, the Aces improved to 29-4 on the season, which keeps them firmly in first place.

Trump Is In Deep Doo-Doo After A Former Mar-A-Lago Employee Changed His Testimony, Thus Implicating Him In Obstruction Of Justice Charges

Donald Trump may have four indictments, but all (or most) eyes are only on one of them right now: the case in Fulton County, Georgia, that may find the big guy becoming the first U.S. president to score a mugshot. But don’t forget the others. Indeed, there’s been a big break in the one two criminal cases ago, the one in which Trump has been accused of mishandling classified government documents.

As per Mediaite, one Yuscil Taveras, who used to work as an IT director at Mar-a-Lago — and who, when the news first broke, was known only as “Trump Employee 4” — has previously given testimony about allegedly deleted security footage at the resort in which Trump now lives. Back in June, though, Taveras was informed he was the subject of a perjury investigation.

So Taveras chucked Stanley Woodward, the MAGA lawyer representing him at the time, got new representation, and has now provided information that implicates Trump and others in obstruction of justice charges.

When Trump was first indicted in the classified docs case, he was hit with 37 separate charges. Three more were added last month over the alleged destruction of Mar-a-Lago footage. Also indicted on the additional charges were Mar-a-Lago maintenance chief Carlos De Oliveira and Walt Nauta, better known as Trump’s Diet Coke guy.

Jaboukie Gets Rowdy On His New Single ’26’ And Shares His First-Ever Concert Dates

Jaboukie Young-White is most known for his internet antics as a comedian, though he also acted in Rap Sh!t and Only Murders In The Building. In July, he announced his debut album All Who Can’t Hear Must Feel and unveiled the single “Not_Me_Tho.” Now he’s back with “26,” as well as three tour dates.

“I found myself incorporating the sonics of music that I grew up with feeling challenged and oftentimes alienated by, and recontextualizing those sonics in a way that gave me empowerment and made me feel closer and more accepted in those same soundscapes I grew up in,” he said in a statement. “‘26’ lyrically and flow-wise is a riff on Buju Banton’s Boom Bye Bye, a homophobic anthem that has been a blemish in the history of Dancehall music. Even though the song is 36 seconds, I think of it as packing a big punch like a shot of Wray & Nephew.”

The album also contains his song “BBC” that he shared in September of last year as his first piece of music ever. It was followed by “Rockwhyler” in October, which doesn’t appear on All Who Can’t Hear Must Feel.

Listen to “26” above.

Find his tour dates below.

10/25 – Chicago, IL @ Beat Kitchen
10/28 — Los Angeles, CA @ Moroccan Lounge
11/01 — – Brooklyn, NY @ Baby’s All Righ

All Who Can’t Hear Must Feel is out 8/25 via Interscope.

Newly Arraigned Trump Lawyer John Eastman Still Isn’t Letting Go Of That Stolen Election Nonsense

Hard to believe it’s been nearly three years since Donald Trump lost re-election then predictably claimed he hadn’t. In that time no one, not the least the big guy himself (and definitely not the MyPillow guy), has offered anything approaching clear evidence of widespread tomfoolery. What there has been is clear evidence of an attempt to subvert democracy by Trump and his cronies. And at least some of them still appear to believe their own, baseless nonsense.

On Tuesday, John Eastman — the once obscure lawyer who drafted the so-called “coup memo” that would have had exiting veep Mike Pence aiding in a convoluted scheme to keep Trump in office — became the second of 19 defendants in the Georgia election interference case to turn himself into Fulton County jail. On the way out, reporters asked Eastman if he still thought the 2020 election was stolen. And as he did earlier this month, he showed he’s still committed to the bit.

“Absolutely,” Eastman responded. “No question. No question in my mind.”

Again, there is no proof of a stolen election, in which Biden somehow got at least seven million fraudulent votes — the amount by which he bested Trump. But there does seem to be plenty of proof that Eastman tried to overturn an election.

Still, Eastman maintained his innocence, saying his arrival at Fulton County jail was him responding “to an indictment that should never have been brought.” In a statement he said, “I am confident that, when the law is faithfully applied in this proceeding, all of my co-defendants and I will be fully vindicated.”

Should Eastman wind up in the clink for his deeds in late 2020, he could always blame all his worries on, of all people, Dan Quayle.

Not all conspiracy theories are fake news. These 6 actually turned out to be true

It’s feeling harder and harder to separate truth from fiction in the age of fake news.

But conspiracy theories and propaganda are as old as society itself. Perhaps most disturbing of all is the growing wealth of scientific evidence suggesting that we’re influenced even by news we know to be fake.

How many disproven JFK assassination theories are floating around in your brain thanks to Oliver Stone? Do you sometimes wonder if anyone has ever really landed on the Moon? And do you think just maybe it’s possible that Adolf Hitler actually survived World War II and lived out his days in Brazil? If so, you’re not alone.

And that’s to say nothing of more modern conspiracy theories driven by social media, making unfounded claims about everything from diets to money to the state of reality itself.

But sometimes the wildest conspiracies are true. Like these six seemingly insane conspiracy theories that are quite real:

A radar lit in rainbow colors

1. “Gaydar”

Who doesn’t love Canada? Well, 1960’s Canada wasn’t quite the squishy utopia it seems to be today. The Canadian government hired Carleton University professor Frank Robert Wake to create something it maliciously called the “fruit machine,” which they believed could detect and identify gay men. It wasn’t part of some benign effort to understand human sexuality.

It was part of a sick bit of McCarthyism with the stated goal of getting all gay men out of the country’s government.

More than 400 people lost their jobs, and 9,000 more were kept on a file of “suspects.” The device claimed to work by measuring how much a subject’s pupils dilated after being forced to look at same-sex erotic imagery.

Harry Truman and MK Ultra

2. MKUltra

Back in the 1950s the CIA secretly dosed individuals with LSD in order to test the potential effects of mind control. Although the practice reportedly continued for two decades, it was launched before the drug movement of the 1960s made LSD into a popular counterculture symbol. And while being given some free acid might sound like a great time to some, or at least the plot to a bad hipster action movie, dozens of people were reportedly left with permanent disabilities after secretly being subjected to massive amounts of LSD and electroshock therapy after seeking treatment for “minor psychiatric complaints.”

Gulf of Tonkin

3. The Gulf of Tonkin incident

On August 2, 1964, the USS. Maddox opened fire on what it later claimed were several North Vietnamese targets. The skirmish deepened America’s involvement in the Vietnam War, leading to the death of thousands of U.S. soldiers and many more Vietnamese, including hundreds of thousands of civilians. Except, it turned out the “targets” the Maddox fired upon didn’t actually exist. It’s still debated today whether the incident was an intentional misdirection by the military. But one thing is certain: President Johnson’s original claim that the North Vietnamese fired first has been debunked. Even former Defense Secretary Robert McNamara admitted as much in an interview before his death. After all, it’s kind of hard to start a fight when you’re not even there.

Bohemian Grove

4. Bohemian Grove: A secretive gathering of world elites

A secretive organization of people that control the world? Well, it turns out it does exist and many of its members are powerful world leaders and titans of industry. The real action happens at Bohemian Grove, which appears to primarily exist as a place “where the rich and powerful go to misbehave” according to The Washington Post.

Or, alternatively, to hear it from the group directly, where members, “share a passion for the outdoors, music, and theater.” However, along with more traditional fare such as drinking and big dinners, the regular activities also reportedly include performing rituals before a giant wooden owl, according to The Post.

Owners of the property host a two-week retreat in California each year for some of the wealthiest and most influential Americans. Past attendees include Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan, both of whom attended before entering the White House. Oh, and it’s where the idea for the atomic bomb was first sketched out.

No big deal.

Dalai Lama

5. The CIA helped fund the Dalai Lama

Who doesn’t love the Dalai Lama?

Other than the Chinese government.

Even the CIA can’t get enough of His Holiness and his band of Tibetan resistance fighters. That’s because during the 1960s, the CIA allegedly funneled millions of dollars to the Tibetan Resistance, including what some claim was a six-figure annual “salary” that went directly to the Dalai Lama himself (which he denied). This wasn’t some remnant from the agency’s flirtation with LSD. Rather, it was a pretty obvious attempt to undermine the Chinese government, something the Chinese have complained about for decades. In declassified State Department memos, the organization says: “The purpose of the program … is to keep the political concept of an autonomous Tibet alive within Tibet and among foreign nations, principally India, and to build a capability for resistance against possible political developments inside Communist China.”

Abraham Lincoln

6. The conspiracy to kill Abraham Lincoln

The most commonly held version of events is that actor John Wilkes Booth acted alone when he assassinated President Lincoln inside Ford’s Theater. But it turns out Booth collaborated with no less than 9 other co-conspirators, including Mary Surratt, the first woman executed by the U.S. government. First, there was David Herold, who helped Booth escape after leaving Ford’s Theater. Then, there was George Azterodt, who unsuccessfully attempted to assassinate Vice President Andrew Johnson. Even though Azterodt never actually attempted the act, he was, nonetheless, executed for plotting against the president. Meanwhile, coconspirator Lewis Powell did attempt to assassinate Secretary of State William Seward, severely injuring him. If you ever want to learn the full story of Booth’s traitorous act, and the desperate attempt to capture him and his team, you can’t do better than James L. Swanson’s Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase For Lincoln’s Killer.

Sweet video shows dad get emotional after taking his 3-year-old to the dentist

Parenting can be a little stressful. There’s no checklist for how to do it perfectly.

As the father of two young daughters, Doyin Richards has a lot of experience in that department. Like most parents, he hopes he’s doing it right. And like most parents, he has a little voice in his head that sometimes makes him second-guess his choices.

What if he’s doing it wrong?

On his 3-year-old daughter’s first trip to the dentist, Doyin was pretty worried she would freak out about the treatment. Of course, it turns out that the only person who lost their composure that day was him — when he realized she was totally fine and able to handle things herself.

Which made him realize that despite all his fears, he might actually be OK at this whole dad thing.

Watch Doyin try to hold it together while his daughter is totally chill at the dentist in this episode of “What Dads Do”:

Experts plead with parents to stop cracking eggs on their toddlers’ heads. No, really.

There are plenty of viral videos involving children that are perfectly harmless. Kids are naturally hilarious, and it’s not unusual for parents to capture their wee ones saying or doing something adorably funny.

At Upworthy, we often share cute viral kid videos, like the Italian preschooler who gesticulates like an old Sicilian grampa or the 4-year-old snowboarder in a dinosaur suit or the 3-year-old with incredible moves dancing alongside choreographed dancers. These are kiddos just doing what they do—genuine, wholesome kid moments caught on video.

Sometimes we share viral kid videos that are clearly set up, often with some kind of a positive parenting lesson included. But such videos are a far cry from a viral TikTok trend that involves parents cracking eggs on their children’s heads and recording their reactions.

The “egg crack challenge” involves parents cooking with their little ones—almost always a fun activity for kids—but when it comes time to break open an egg, the parent unexpectedly cracks it on the child’s head instead of the side of the bowl. The child’s stunned/confused/nervous reactions sometimes result in crying, sometimes laughter, and the unpredictable nature of it is what seems to be entertaining people.

But it’s not a harmless “prank”—not when it’s done to a small child who doesn’t understand what’s happening.

I’m not going to share any of the videos here because the whole point is to rack up views and I don’t want to contribute to the problem. But let’s look at this trend from the perspective of a little kid for a moment. You’re just learning about the world, and realizing it can be a scary and unpredictable place sometimes. Your place of safety and security is your home with your parents who provide safety and protection. You’re not sure what you can rely on out there, but your parents are your source of stability and security.

You’ve observed your parents cooking, so you kind of know what to expect. You use a cup to measure. You use a spoon to stir. You crack and open eggs before they go into the bowl.

You’ve never seen someone crack an egg on someone’s head. You’ve been taught that hitting someone, especially on the head, with or without an object is wrong. How do you make sense of your parent suddenly turning and hitting you on the head with an egg in the middle of cooking?

Children don’t process things the way adults do, but even most adults would immediately be like “WTF?!” if someone suddenly used their head for an egg-cracking surface. For a young child, it’s not just a WTF moment—it’s a message: “The thing I thought was predictable actually isn’t. The person I thought was reliable actually isn’t. The rules I was taught don’t always apply.”

It’s foundational-level confusing and could potentially mess with a child’s sense of trust. All for some internet likes.

Dan Wuori, Ph.D., Senior Director of Early Learning at the Hunt Institute, shared some thoughts on this and other potentially damaging parent “challenges,” such as inviting a kindergartener to meet their teacher virtually and having a scary-looking person on the screen.

“The years of early childhood are a time during which trust and attachment are (ideally) formed,” Wuori wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “With love, attention, and responsive caregiving, young children learn that their world is safe. They develop self-worth and self-esteem. These are prerequisites to both learning and healthy development. But the key to developing trust is consistency.”

“And the behaviors in these videos—even if rare and anomalous—serve only to undermine healthy attachment between parent and child,” he added. “They provide children with data points that suggest their parents can be unexpectedly and arbitrarily cruel. They are a violation of hard-earned trust.

“Some will argue that these are just jokes in good fun. They aren’t. They are the deliberate infliction of trauma, however brief, for the amusement of strangers. It should go without saying that this isn’t good for children.”

Pediatric occupational therapist Amanda Mathers shared a TikTok of her own explaining why the trend isn’t a good idea from a child development standpoint.

“You are teaching them that hitting someone in the head, hard, with an object, is acceptable and funny,” she said.

@yourpediatricot

I know as parents you never want to harm your child. This post is meant to educate, for wny parwnts who were wanting to try this, or tor parents who already did this rrend and fan go back wnd have a conversation with their child about what happened. ••• Toddlers brains at this age don’t yet fully comprehend jokes like this and although they may laugh… their brain is thinking “WHAT THE HECK?!” ••• Skip this trend parents, it’ll save you in the long run 🤍 #eggcrackchallenge #eggcrackprank #eggcrackreaction #emotionalintelligence #raisingconfidentchildren #raisingkids #donttrythisathome #pediatricot

She even went so far as to call it bullying, which is a solid point when you consider that some of these videos include children crying in embarrassment, pain or confusion and their parent laughing in their faces. Some might think they’re teaching kids about joking around and being silly, but this isn’t a healthy way to teach that. It’s cruel.

Parents in these videos may not realize how the thing they see as fun might be harmful, which is why it’s good to try to see it from a child’s perspective. But a good rule to follow in general is not to purposefully create an emotional reaction in a child as a way to go viral on social media. Stick to capturing kids just being their normal, adorable, hilarious selves—there’s plenty of entertainment in that.

Michelle Wolf Comes Out As ‘Insufferable’ In Her New Netflix Special ‘Michelle Wolf: It’s Great To Be Here’

Michelle Wolf, also known as the woman who famously roasted Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ eye makeup at the 2018 White House Correspondents dinner, is back for another round of hard-hitting quips and jokey shenanigans with an upcoming Netflix special titled Michelle Wolf: It’s Great To Be Here.

It’s Great To Be Here will feature three half-hour-long episodes, because who actually sits down for a 90-minute special anymore? What are we, made of time? Wolf will touch on hot-button topics, including harassment, dating, and, of course, various political shenanigans. Sarah Huckabee should be warned (and get those makeup tutorials ready).

The comedian previously dropped another special, Michelle Wolf: Joke Show, in 2019, and for a woman with the last name “Wolf” she sure does love making jokes about animals. Before her stand-up stint and HBO special (which earned her an Emmy nom), Wolf was a correspondent on The Daily Show and a writer on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Wolf’s Netflix talk show The Break With Michelle Wolf was tragically canceled in 2019 after just 10 episodes, but maybe the world just wasn’t ready for Yogurt for Men yet. The time is now!

The three-episode special will drop on Tuesday, September 12th, just ahead of her national tour, aptly titled the Great To Be Here tour. Check out the trailer above.
