‘The Boys’ Black Noir Somehow Confirms That He’ll Appear In ‘Call Of Duty’ Alongside Homelander, Starlight, And An Unnamed ‘Hero’

Last month, The Boys and Call of Duty teased a collaboration between the two powerhouse franchises, and today, a surprising character from the show has announced details of the upcoming crossover.

In a new video posted by Vought International, the fictional corporation behind The Seven, the twisted superhero team featured in The Boys, Black Noir holds a press conference where he confirms that he’ll be appearing in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 along with Homelander (Antony Starr) and Starlight (Erin Moriarty). And by confirm we mean that Black Noir simply nods “yes” or “no” when asked questions being that he’s mute.

The announcement video also reveals that a “hero who shall not be named” will also appear in the crossover, and according to Comic Book, fans are convinced that “operator” will be none other than Karl Urban’s Butcher. While Homelander, Starlight, and possibly Butcher’s presence makes sense, Black Noir showing up gets a little tricky.

Spoilers for The Boys below:

Black Noir died in the final moments of Season 3, which makes his inclusion in the game and the press conference a bit odd. However, The Boys figured out a fix for that problem. Before the video begins, the screen text reads, “The following press conference was filmed last year prior to Black Noir’s secret mission and Starlight’s betrayal of The Seven.” We’re guessing the “secret mission” is how the show will explain his absence for the time being.

Of course, Black Noir is the source of a major twist in the comics, which we won’t spoil here. So don’t be surprised if his death (or sudden reemergence) isn’t all that it seems when The Boys returns for Season 4.

The Boys Seasons 1-3 are available for streaming on Amazon.

Ryan Gosling Wallows In Sad Ken-ergy On The New ‘Barbie’ Movie Song ‘I’m Just Ken’

When the tracklist for the Barbie movie soundtrack was revealed in May, the impressive roster included Ava Max, Charli XCX, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, Fifty Fifty, Gayle, Haim, Ice Spice, Kali, Karol G, Khalid, The Kid Laroi, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, PinkPantheress, and Tame Impala. Interestingly, also on the list was Ryan Gosling, who stars in the film as Ken. Now we have our first taste of the Gosling track, “I’m Just Ken.”

Gosling previously said of approaching the role of Ken, “Up until this point, I only knew Ken from afar. I didn’t know Ken from within. I doubted my Ken-ergy. I didn’t see it. But Margot and Greta conjured this out of me.”

Check out the “I’m Just Ken” video above.

A GOP Official In Michigan Claims He Was Kicked In The Balls By One Of His Fellow Republicans At A Strategy Meeting, So Things Are Going Great!

Political foes aren’t exactly civilized to each other on Capitol Hill. We see evidence of fissures on a daily basis, and Marjorie Taylor Greene even called Lauren Boebert “a little b*tch” to her face on the House floor. And the Brits have been known to let insults fly in Parliament, too. Yet (at least so far), we haven’t seen any literal ball busting during political gatherings in D.C. In Michigan, however, that’s a whole different story. Allegedly.

According to Detroit News (and via Rolling Stone), the GOP party in the state has thrown down, and this included some form of a body slam, which led to a broken rib. Somewhere in the mix, male organs got kicked, too.

Yes, County GOP Party Chair Mark DeYoung is claiming that fellow Republican James Chapman grew irate about not being able to enter a party meeting that was specific to committee. So apparently, Chapman started passive-aggressively leading a Pledge of Allegiance chant outside the locked door to the meeting room and generally making a nuisance of himself by “jiggling the doorknob.” Then this reportedly happened:

Mark DeYoung, who chairs the Clare County Republican Party, said he heard Chapman’s attempt to enter the room and opened the door after seeing someone flip him the bird through a window. “He kicked me in my balls as soon as I opened the door,” DeYoung said of Chapman, speaking to The Detroit News by phone from the emergency room.

DeYoung added that Chapman charged him, slamming his body into a chair, and said he now has a broken rib. He intends to press charges.

Believe it or not, this wasn’t the first Michigan GOP shindig of the year that went sour. As seen below from the Bridge Michigan YouTube account, Kalamazoo GOP Party Chair Kelly Sackett grew very upset when Macomb County GOP Secretary Melissa Pehlis lit up a cigarette. A cell phone went flying, and things got shouty. These people have way too much energy.

Billie Eilish, Who Has Been ‘Hit On Stage With Things For Six Years,’ Offered Empathetic Perspective On The Trend

Billie Eilish is the ultimate trendsetter in every imaginable way. Over the last month, several artists have been hit with objects while performing on stage. Harry Styles was hit in the face during a Love On Tour stop over the weekend, and other recent victims include Ava Max, Bebe Rexha, Kelsea Ballerini, and Lil Nas X.

The general public is perplexed by a seemingly new, random trend, but this is nothing new to Eilish.

“I’ve been getting hit on stage with things for like, literally, six years.” Eilish told The Hollywood Reporter at the Barbie movie premiere on Sunday, July 9, in Los Angeles. “I don’t know why this is, like, new. People just get excited and it can be dangerous.”

Eilish added, “I have mixed feelings about it, because when you’re up there, it blows. But you know it’s out of love, and they’re just trying to give you something. […] You’re in a vulnerable position, but I’ve been getting hit with stuff for like years.”

To Eilish’s point, Drake isn’t against fans throwing objects at him. He’d just prefer that they adhere to his wish list.

“Can we set a new stage rule for tour? If you’re gonna throw sh*t up here, just make it bras only, please,” Drake told the crowd at Chicago’s United Center, after someone chucked at phone at him during opening night of his and 21 Savage’s It’s All A Blur Tour.

Is The Weeknd On Travis Scott’s ‘Utopia’ Album?

Travis Scott fans have been more tantalized than ever over the past few weeks, as the trickle of Utopia teases increased to a steady stream. While a solid release date has yet to be announced, it does seem that one is nearing, as Travis has taken out billboards that seemed to reveal some significant date, promoted the album in his Nike campaign with John McEnroe, and even gave his hometown Houston Astros a private listening. Over the weekend, Travis also announced an upcoming show at the Giza pyramids in Egypt, which is just extravagant enough to suggest that the album is due soon.

But there’s still little-to-no info about what — or who — will actually be on it whenever it does drop. Bad Bunny confirmed a collaboration with Travis recently after Travis himself appeared to tease the song during a party in Monaco, but no other collaborators had been confirmed — until Friday, when XO Records co-founder Cash posted a photo on Instagram of the now-infamous Utopia briefcase and a caption bearing both Travis and The Weeknd’s handles. It sure sounds like The Weeknd will be featured on the album, reuniting the two artists on an album for the first time since 2018’s Astroworld, when they collaborated on “Wake Up.” They also appeared together on “Power Is Power” from the Game Of Thrones companion soundtrack, For The Throne, in 2019 alongside SZA.

Anthony Mackie Will Do Anything For Toilet Paper In Peacock’s ‘Twisted Metal’ Trailer

Video game adaptations tend to (by far) be more “miss” than “hit,” although the tide might very well be shifting in 2023. Is Hollywood finally cracking that code? Audiences clamored for HBO’s The Last Of Us, which managed to infuse bucketfuls of emotional resonance amid spurts of action. And Universal Pictures’ Super Mario Bros. Movie had an uphill battle to climb, but it soared above its predecessor, even with Chris Pratt’s Mario voice in the mix. Hopefully, a third time (of sorts) will continue to be a charm with Peacock’s Twisted Metal about to bring the classic PlayStation series to life.

Anthony Mackie’s gift for wisecracking should come in handy here, as he dives into half-hour action mode here with Neve Campbell promising that he can have just about anything he wants, as long as he delivers a certain package. He will settle for some two-or-three-ply toilet paper, thank you very much. Yet he will need to confront a series of obstacles, including a hostile Stephanie Beatriz and a f*cked up clown with the body of Samoa Joe and the voice of Will Arnett. Yes, the combo is the stuff of nightmares.

Twisted Metal
Peacock

From the synopsis:

[A] high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith, about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.

Additionally, this show pairs Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (of Deadpool and Zombieland) with Michael Jonathan Smith (of Cobra Kai), so they are locked and loaded for hopeful success, which could continue the great year that gamers are experiencing onscreen. 2023 ain’t all bad!

Peacock’s Twisted Metal premieres on July 27.

Lana Del Rey Poked Fun At Her Shortened Glastonbury Set While Performing At BST Hyde Park

Lana Del Rey was tardy to her Glastonbury Festival 2023 set in late June. She profusely apologized to her audience, which The View co-hosts deemed inadequate.

Del Rey performed a sold-out show at BST Hyde Park in London on Sunday, July 9, and nodded toward her less-than-ideal Glastonbury appearance.

“This is where I got cut off last time. Sorry about that,” Del Rey said before singing “Diet Mountain Dew” (as noted by BBC and NME). She poked fun at it again around the set’s finale, “Video Games,” saying, “It’s worth it, even if you get the power cut. It’s worth it.”

NME additionally relayed, “At her BST Hyde Park performance, the singer once again arrived late to the set — which was supposed to kick off at 8:40pm. However, despite taking to the stage 20 minutes later than expected, she finished the performance just before her 10:30pm curfew.”

During the Glastonbury set in question on June 24, Del Rey explained, “I was so f*cking late that I’m about to rush this set today. If they cut power, I’m super f*cking sorry. My hair takes so long to do. I love you to death. Let’s keep on running the set as it’s supposed to go.”

Billboard reported that Del Rey’s microphone was promptly cut at midnight local time despite her still needing to sing “Video Games.”

Unlike members of The View, Muse’s Matt Bellamy was more upset with Glastonbury organizers than Del Rey.

“Can’t believe they cut Lana Del Rey sound @glastonbury before finishing set, best Glasto performance I’ve seen for years. Insanity,” he tweeted on June 24.

‘Barbie’ Soundtrack Star Billie Eilish Hasn’t Outgrown Holiday Barbie And Still ‘Lights Up’ When She Gets One

Billie Eilish gushed over her involvement in the upcoming Barbie movie (read: global spectacle) when announcing her single, “What Was I Made For,” last Thursday, July 6. The “What Was I Made For” reveal was accompanied by Instagram Story posts by Eilish depicting her childhood devotion to Barbie dolls. Eilish, it turns out, hasn’t outgrown loving Holiday Barbie.

“I will say that when I was a kid, they were out of the box,” Eilish told Variety on the pink carpet for the Barbie premiere in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 9, ahead of its July 21 theatrical release. “They were in my room. They were getting all messed up, but now — ’cause I still get some Holiday Barbies, and they’re in the box.”

Finneas added, “She gets Holiday Barbie, she lights up.”

Eilish referenced Holiday Barbie at the 2021 Met Gala while explaining the inspiration behind her Oscar De La Renta gown with Keke Palmer for Vogue.

“It was my favorite thing in the world. I would ask for them for Christmas every single year,” she said. “The dresses [chef’s kiss], oh my god! So, honestly, genuinely, that was my inspiration.”

When Eilish initially announced the song, she wrote, “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! [teddy bear, pink bow, ballet slipper, pink heart emojis] ‘What Was I Made For?’ COMING OUT JULY 13TH AT 7AM PT. !!!!!!!! [see-no-evil monkey, smiling with hearts emojis],” Eilish captioned an Instagram post. “WE MADE THIS SONG FOR BARBIE AND IT MEANS THE ABSOLUTE WORRRRLLLD TO ME. THIS MOVIE IS GONNA CHANGE UR LIVES AND HOPEFULLY THE SONG WILL TOO. GET READY TO SOB @FINNEAS.”

1501 Certified Founder Carl Crawford Claims He’s ‘$500K In The Hole’ After Erica Banks Left The Label

Erica Banks may have recently left her label 1501 Certified Entertainment, but the label’s founder, former MLB player Carl Crawford, insists that he was really the victim of shady business practices, not the perpetrator. During an Instagram Live stream, Crawford argued that he’s the one who is in debt to Warner Music Group after Banks’ departure, which he blamed on her following Megan Thee Stallion’s example.

According to AllHipHop, during the stream, Crawford said, “Erica’s not even making no money for me to take… I was just as surprised as y’all [were] to hear we’re greedy and stealing money. I’m still trying to figure that one out because last I checked we’re $500,000 in the hole with Warner. That’s all I know. So who owes who money?”

He also referenced Meg, with whom 1501 has been engaged in a years-long legal battle, saying, “The only reason why the one’s doing it is because the other one did it, so if the first one hadn’t took this route, the second wouldn’t have took this route. They only follow each other.”

The first indications that Banks was also feuding with the label came with a late-June snippet of her new song “Real Rap B*tch.” In it, she raps, “Give a f*ck about that label they see me / And they owe me some money, they greedy.” The full song was released this past weekend on YouTube.

Megan Thee Stallion sued 1501 in 2020 after the label refused to release her from or renegotiate her contract and tried to block her from releasing new music. Since then, the dispute has only grown more contentious, with Meg recently accusing the label of hiding money to keep from paying her royalties.
