Quavo And Future Demand Listeners ‘Turn Yo Clic Up’ On Their Brash New Single

Quavo’s solo album, Rocket Power, is getting closer and closer to release, and today, the Atlanta rapper shared the next single from it, “Turn Yo Clic Up” featuring fellow ATLien Future. The two rappers have collaborated numerous times in the past on tracks like “Picasso” and “Snitching” and maintain that chemistry here. The song consists of a beat by producers Atake, Basobeats, Macshooter49, and Sluzyyy, with rapid-fire verses from Quavo and Future encompassing shopping sprees, splitting up money with their boys, and the various tools they keep around to deal with their enemies.

Rocket Power will be Quavo’s second solo album and will arrive nearly five years from his 2018 debut, Quavo Huncho. Since that album’s release, Quavo dropped two collaborative projects with his bandmates in Migos: Culture III, the fourth Migos studio album, and Only Built For Infinity Links with the Takeoff. The latter came after a falling out with third Migos member Offset; however, Takeoff’s death has seemingly reunited the remaining members of the trio, who came together to perform a tribute to Takeoff at the recent BET Awards. While that doesn’t mean they’re planning on recording and releasing music together again anytime soon, Offset said the performance “cleared my soul.”

Prior to “Turn Yo Clic Up,” Quavo released the singles “Greatness” and “Honey Bun.” Rocket Power does not have a release date yet. Listen to “Turn Yo Clic Up” above.

‘You Are Exhausting, Matt Gaetz!’ A House Democrat Tore Into MAGA Lawmaker For Pushing An Anti-‘Wokeification’ Bill

A shouting match erupted on the House floor after a Democratic congressman grew tired of Matt Gaetz and his continued insistence on pushing “anti-woke” legislation. Gaetz, who’s no stranger to angering members of Congress on both sides of the aisle, has been backing an amendment to remove Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives from the U.S. Department of Defense. Nevada Rep. Steven Horsford wasn’t having it.

“Just this week, the sponsor of this amendment called Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the military a, quote, “failed experiment,’” Horsford said. “He has called it ‘cancerous.’ Just this week a senator from Alabama stated that it was his opinion that White nationalists are not necessarily racist and refused to denounce white nationalists serving in the military.”

As Horsford grew more heated, he turned his frustration towards Gaetz and called the Florida congressman out by name on the House floor.

Via Mediaite:

“This amendment does nothing to address the recruitment shortfalls that our services are facing and instead it will only make it more difficult to recruit Americans from diverse backgrounds representing the true makeup of our nation,” Horsford continued, before shouting at Gaetz directly.

The congressman screamed, “What are you so afraid of? Why do you keep bringing these divisive issues to the body of this floor!? You are out of order! You are exhausting, Mr. Gaetz!”

In true Gaetz fashion, he chided Horsford for violating House decorum by addressing members instead of the chair before proving Horsford’s point by saying that neither the House or the military shouldn’t be letting “radical racial ideology” govern their discourse.

Gaetz’s remarks demonstrate why Horsford called him out specifically. Plus, it probably didn’t help that Gaetz recently backed the bill on Twitter where he railed against the “wokeification of our military.”

Melania Trump Sure Has Received A Lot Of Money For ‘Picking Flower Arrangements’ And ‘Choosing Tableware’ From Donald’s Super PACs

Even if Donald Trump didn’t want to be president again, you can bet that he’d still be “running” again for 2024. Granted, it does appear that he really wants to reinstall that Diet Coke button in the Oval Office, but even if he didn’t, Trump can somehow still rake in the big bucks through those campaign super PACs. That sure helps with his mounting legal bills, but is there anything in it for Melania Trump?

Back when Melania was First Lady Melania Trump, she famously did not enjoy having to pretend like she enjoyed Christmas decorations. Additionally, first ladies do not receive government salaries, which might seem like an antiquated tradition, but when one considers that they don’t occupy elected positions, it makes more sense. Maybe? They do, however, generally rake in the bucks after the fact with memoirs and speaking engagements, but Melania is acquiring significant earnings in an unusual way.

As New York Times‘ Maggie Haberman reports (via new Trump federal filings), Melania is enjoying “rare” benefit of being paid as “the spouse of a potential presidential candidate to be paid directly by a campaign or an outside group affiliated with the candidate.” In the past few years, she has been getting paid for picking flowers and tableware and handsomely so:

[A] representative for the super PAC, who declined to be identified by name, said that Ms. Trump had been hired through her agency for “design consulting” for the old super PAC’s dinner and that her responsibilities included choosing tableware, arranging settings and picking floral arrangements. The fee was $125,000, and the second $30,000 payment was for additional services rendered out of the scope of the first contract, the representative said.

That’s not all. She’s been receiving $250,000 payments from multiple Super PACs for delivering speeches at various Republican gatherings. In other words, there might be a few reasons why Melania has remained married to Trump despite, well, you know, along with her reportedly Donald-free lifestyle.

A Digitally De-Aged Tom Cruise In ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ Was Rejected For Being Distracting

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny begins with a digitally de-aged Harrison Ford in one of the most flawless uses of the (potentially terrifying) technology yet. Another summer blockbuster also considered kicking off with a technology-assisted younger version of its star — until Tom Cruise got distracted looking at himself.

“Originally, there had been a whole sequence at the beginning of the movie that was going to take place in 1989,” Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One director Christopher McQuarrie told Total Film. “We talked about it as a cold open. We talked about it as flashbacks in the movie. We looked at de-aging.” But while doing research, he found himself thinking “this de-aging is really good” or “this de-aging is not so good” instead of “following the story.”

Cruise added, “I was so distracted by an actor that I had known for however long was now suddenly this young person.” McQuarrie believes he eventually “cracked the code – I think – on how best to approach it,” but “by then, we had kind of moved away from it. We may still play with it. We never say never.”

Will Jerry Maguire-era Tom Cruise snowboard off Mount Everest in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two? Stay tuned!

JT’s ‘No Bars’ Single Is A Cocky Double Entendre As The Rapper Addressed Lyrical Criticism And Her Time In Prison

The City Girls are actively out in the rap streets. Recently, the duo released singles “Piñata” and “I Need A Thug” to hold fans over until a complete project hit streaming platforms. However, member JT stepped out to drop a song of her very own to address criticism over her lyrical ability and the time she spent in Florida’s prison system.

Previously shared as a freestyle snippet, the rapper’s “No Bars” is finally here for fans to sink their teeth into. The song produced by BrizzyOnDaBeat & Noc is a cocky entendre where the Miami native tots the line of her City Girl persona and the vulnerable Jatavia only known to those closest to her as she spits the stanza, “Hood b*tch, dressed like a weirdo / Run away, now I’m steppin’ in some runway / B*tch, you can’t f*ck with my on yo’ birthday / Free my real b*tches, Corrlink and J-Pay / You gon’ be home, f*ck what the judge say.”

Even if for a second you think “No Bars” is a hint that the pair is breaking up, JT shuts that idea down as she rapped, “It’s City Girl sh*t / Even when you think it ain’t City Girl sh*t / I’m a City Girl, b*tch.”

In the spirit of the record’s message, the entertainer launched the No Bars Reform initiative to aid women who have been formerly incarcerated. On the movement’s official website, the mission is described, “After spending almost two years in a Florida Prison before being released in 2020, JT has vowed to use her voice and platform to help other incarcerated women rehabilitate into society by assisting with resources such as therapy, job placement, social services, and housing.”

Indiecast Reviews New Albums By Anohni And PJ Harvey

Last week, Steven briefly forgot how to work his podcast equipment, and the result was the first, instantly iconic “lost” Indiecast episode. Fortunately, Steven Googled “how to work podcast equipment” and he was able to match his vocals to Ian’s for this week’s episode.

The guys begin with a discussion of a weird new trend in live music: People throwing things at artists’ faces. Not only is this stupid and dangerous, it also makes no sense. But what is causing it? Also: Is it really that new? Steven shares the story about David Bowie getting hit in the face with a lollipop in the early aughts, as well as the strange history of yahoos bringing firecrackers to concerts in the 1970s.

From there, Steven and Ian launch into a discussion about the new Anohni album, My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross, as well as the outlook for potential Album Of The Year candidates in the second half of 2023. The guys also discuss the latest effort from PJ Harvey, I Inside The Old Year Dying, and give her overall career the “yay or nay” treatment. Finally, they make time to address the new Wham! documentary on Netflix, directed by Chris Smith.

In the mailbag, a reader talks about a recent concert by the band Wednesday and asks whether Steven and Ian appreciate between-song banter. Then, in Recommendation Corner, Ian talks up the emo band Magazine Beach while Steven raves about the alt-rock-inspired band Palehound.

New episodes of Indiecast drop every Friday. Listen to Episode 146 here and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. PinkPantheress Recruits Destroy Lonely For The Conflicted Song ‘Turn Your Phone Off’

PinkPantheress is no stranger to the art of collaboration. Her “Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2” with Ice Spice was one of the ubiquitous hits of the year; more recently, she teamed up with Willow for “Where You Are.”

Now, the versatile singer has joined forces with Destroy Lonely, who released their new album If Looks Could Kill earlier this year. The song is called “Turn Your Phone Off,” an ironic sentiment from an artist who’s benefited exponentially from apps like TikTok.

Of course, though, “Turn Your Phone Off” is a love song, just slanted by Gen Z’s technology-saturated upbringing: “I turned my phone off but your calls still came through / I reply when they do ’cause I want to chat to you,” she sings, against her typical skittish, otherworldly sound. It’s fewer than three minutes, but the two artists prove their music chemistry.

“After years of having this song in the vault, I’m so happy I can release ‘Turn Your Phone Off’ with someone who has spearheaded his own sound and incorporates beautifully into mine,” she said about the track in a statement.

PinkPantheress is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Based On Zero Evidence, Trump Accused Joe Biden (And Hunter, Too) Of Leaving Behind The Cocaine Found At The White House

After a thorough investigation of watching Scarface and listening to David Bowie’s Station to Station, the Secret Service has concluded that the cocaine found at the White House belonged to… ¯_(ツ)_/¯. “Without physical evidence, the investigation will not be able to single out a person of interest from the hundreds of individuals who passed through the vestibule where the cocaine was discovered. At this time, the Secret Service’s investigation is closed due to a lack of physical evidence,” a statement read, according to CNN.

Detective Donald Trump thinks he knows who left the bag of nose candy, however (no, it’s not his son.)

“What do you say when you see ‘cocaine in the White House’? Can you even believe that’s possible?” Real America’s Voice quack Wayne Allyn Root asked the former president — who once invited Kid Rock to the White House — on Thursday. Trump replied, “In my opinion, it’s Hunter and probably Joe. Because you watch Joe at the beginning of a speech and he’s got a little life — not much — but by the end of the speech, he’s a disaster. He can’t find his way off the stage. So, there’s something going on there, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was for both of them. I think it’s for both of them. But that’s my opinion.”

Trump added, “I think they bump him up,” emphasis on the word “bump.” He doesn’t want “a president on cocaine who’s dealing with nuclear weapons and everything else.” The only thing Trump gets high on is life… and aspartame.

Olivia Rodrigo Experienced Cuteness Overload After An Adorable 8-Year-Old Fan’s Question For Her

As Olivia Rodrigo has become a pop superstar over the past few years, she has heard a ton of interview questions. A recent query, though, really stood out for her. During an interview with UK radio station Capital, Rodrigo fielded a question from a young fan, who said, “I think you’re very, very pretty, and you’re an amazing singer, but do you have a beauty hack that makes you look so pretty?”

At the first instance of being called pretty, Rodrigo made the kind of face that results from watching a video of an unlikely animal friendship or something cute like that. At the end of the question, Rodrigo made a similar face and said, “Aww… that’s the best compliment anyone’s ever given me, oh my god.”

As for her beauty hacks, Rodrigo replied, “I always wear sunscreen, I try to do that, that’s important. And I drink a lot of water — that’s so boring. I feel bad giving such a boring answer to such a sweet, interesting girl, but I can’t think of anything else.”

Meanwhile, Rodrigo is enjoying the success of her new single “Vampire,” which just became her third song to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Fox News Hosts Awkwardly Realized That Brian Cox Called Them ‘The Devil’ After Gushing Over His Anti-Woke Comments

Succession‘s Logan Roy himself, Brian Cox, portrayed a media mogul who had plenty in common with Rupert Murdoch. Yet as it turns out, Cox isn’t a fan of Fox News, and he wouldn’t even entertain a “f*ck off” for them. Rather, he declared that they are “the devil.”

There’s not much room there for misinterpretation, but The Five‘s hosts didn’t immediately recall this slight. Greg Gutfeld and Dana Perino then slowly remembered the situation, but this didn’t happen until after much fawning took place over Cox’s recent declaration that “woke culture is truly awful.” Cox made this observation to Piers Morgan, and he added that he was disgusted with the “arbiters of this shaming,” which he attributed to “usually a bunch of millennials.” And that was music to The Five‘s ears, until the aforementioned awkward realization.

The Daily Beast’s Justin Baragona tweeted this clip:

Gutfeld also admitted that he originally took “the devil” remark “as a compliment,” which says a lot, but Perino added, “I think that Greg might be right… I think if you were to google, he might not be as conservative as I think he might be. I’m remembering something…” So awkward.

It’s too bad that Geraldo Rivera left them. He likely could have saved them this embarrassment.
