Azealia Banks Reckons Taylor Swift Could Do Much Better Than ‘Full Incel’ Matty Healy, And Even Offers Up An Indie Rock Suggestion

Matty Healy is comfortably resting in his villain era, stirring up beef with Noel Gallagher. His rumored romance with Taylor Swift isn’t helping much. Lewis Capaldi poked fun at the discourse with a parody video, but Azealia Banks’ approach isn’t as light-hearted.

In a note uploaded to the entertainer’s Instagram Story, Banks wrote, “Taylor, this guy is gonna give you scabies. He’s not on the level of powerful p*ss you worked hella hard to build. Ugh, so many much cooler people in music to work with.” Later in the post, she added, “Ugh, this dude is a full incel. You cannot be letting him climb the rich white c*ochie mountain, sis.”

As a suggestion, the rapper did offer another potential boo. “You should really tap James Mercer from The Shins,” said Banks, adding, “James Mercer is honestly one of the best lyricists ever. Yesss, Taylor Swift with ‘Black Wave’ and ‘Australia’ by The Shins vibes is the tea, sis.”

Neither Swift nor Healy confirmed or denied their relationship status. But during BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend festival in Dundee, Scotland, The 1975 leader brushed off the whispers saying, “Is it all a bit? Is it sincere? Will he ever address it? All of these questions and more will be ignored in the next hour. Ladies and gentlemen, this is The 1975.”

Sorry, Labradors. After 31 years, America has a new favorite dog.

The sweet-faced, loveable Labrador Retriever is no longer America’s favorite dog breed. The breed best known for having a heart of gold has been replaced by the smaller, more urban-friendly French Bulldog.

According to the American Kennel Club, for the past 31 years, the Labrador Retriever was America’s favorite dog, but it was eclipsed in 2022 by the Frenchie. The rankings are based on nearly 716,500 dogs newly registered in 2022, of which about 1 in 7 were Frenchies. Around 108,000 French Bulldogs were recorded in the U.S. in 2022, surpassing Labrador Retrievers by over 21,000.

The French Bulldog’s popularity has grown exponentially over the past decade. They were the #14 most popular breed in 2012, and since then, registrations have gone up 1,000%, bringing them to the top of the breed popularity rankings.

The AKC says that the American Hairless Terrier, Gordon Setter, Italian Greyhound and Anatolian Shepherd Dog also grew in popularity between 2021 and 2022.

The French Bulldog was famous among America’s upper class around the turn of the 20th century but then fell out of favor. Their resurgence is partly based on several celebrities who have gone public with their Frenchie love. Leonardo DiCaprio, Megan Thee Stallion, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, Reese Witherspoon and Lady Gaga all own French Bulldogs.

The breed earned a lot of attention as show dogs last year when a Frenchie named Winston took second place at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and first in the National Dog Show.

The breed made national news in early 2021 when Gaga’s dog walker was shot in the chest while walking two of her Frenchies in a dog heist. He recovered from his injuries, and the dogs were later returned.

They’ve also become popular because of their unique look and personalities.

“They’re comical, friendly, loving little dogs,” French Bull Dog Club of America spokesperson Patty Sosa told the AP. She said they are city-friendly with modest grooming needs and “they offer a lot in a small package.”

They are also popular with people who live in apartments. According to the AKC, Frenchies don’t bark much and do not require a lot of outdoor exercise.

The French Bulldog stands out among other breeds because it looks like a miniature bulldog but has large, expressive bat-like ears that are its trademark feature. However, their popularity isn’t without controversy. “French bulldogs can be a polarizing topic,” veterinarian Dr. Carrie Stefaniak told the AP.

French Bulldogs have been bred to have abnormally large heads, which means that large litters usually need to be delivered by C-section, an expensive procedure that can be dangerous for the mother. They are also prone to multiple health problems, including skin, ear, and eye infections. Their flat face means they often suffer from respiratory problems and heat intolerance.

Frenchies are also more prone to spine deformations and nerve pain as they age.

Here are the AKC’s top ten most popular dog breeds for 2022.

1 French Bulldogs

2 Labrador Retrievers

3 Golden Retrievers

4 German Shepherd Dogs

5 Poodles

6 Bulldogs

7 Rottweilers

8 Beagles

9 Dachshunds

10 German Shorthaired Pointers

Daniel Caesar Takes Viewers On A Journey To Both Sudan And ‘Toronto 2014’ In His New Video

Daniel Caesar has dropped his new music video for “Toronto 2014,” a standout from his album, Never Enough. The visual, which was directed by Trent Munson and features Mustafa, consists of a home video style that was shot in both Sudan and Toronto.

The intention, per a press release, was to showcase “the beauty of both artists’ home countries.”

“This video explores home, the idea that we’re neither global citizens nor nomads; that we live in the air between, questioning our dispensability in any place we’ve lived in,” Mustafa shared. “We travelled to Sudan last year to witness a homecoming, the beauty of Sudan can’t be replicated. We were met with such warmth that you could feel in fragments in this video.”

“Now, as generals senselessly battle & leave our country in ruin, one can’t help but to think of all the kind people and family who assisted us in our journey–the buildings that have collapsed, the trees that went in fire–donate what you can to local efforts,” he added.

Caesar is also aiming to use the video to give back to Sudan, as a portion of the proceeds generated will go to the Sudan Relief Fund and assist those in the country with getting access to food, water, and other essential needs.

Robert Williams Was Reportedly Throwing Up During Game 7 As He Played Only 14 Minutes

The Boston Celtics are headed into the offseason with plenty of questions and not a lot of clear answers coming off of a dismal Game 7 performance that saw them get blown out by the Miami Heat, 103-84.

After showing so much fight to claw their way back into the series from down 0-3, it was a disappointing effort from Boston, which was exacerbated by some factors outside of their control. Jayson Tatum suffered an ankle injury on the first possession of the game, and while he played through it, he was clearly limited in his mobility, particularly in the second half after having it stiffen up further during halftime. With Tatum hobbling, the pressure to create shifted to Jaylen Brown, who struggled mightily with an 8-of-23 shooting night with eight turnovers as he was unable to pick up the slack.

Brown wasn’t alone in struggling to make an impact, as everyone aside from a brief spurt from Derrick White struggled to get anything going offensively. As the game wore on, Joe Mazzulla’s rotation also raised eyebrows, as Robert Williams, who has been critical in the series turnaround with his work defensively and on the glass, played just 14 minutes. On Tuesday, we learned why the big man was limited in his minutes, as he was apparently dealing with a stomach bug that had him throwing up at times during the game, per Shams Charania.

That explains why Williams was a limited in Game 7 and further exacerbated the issues Boston was dealing with. The injury and illness problems were out of Boston’s control and are understandable factors in keeping them from playing their best. That said, it doesn’t excuse the performance in totality and the challenge for Brad Stevens and the Boston front office going forward is to figure out how much needs to change to try and reach the Finals again next season.

A GOP Presidential Candidate Ripped Ron DeSantis For His Anti-Business Disney Jihad: ‘It’s Not Republican’

As the Republican primary heats up, most of the attention has been spent on frontrunners Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis thanks in no small part to the former president’s almost daily rants about his challenger. DeSantis has also been garnering headlines for his ongoing feud with Disney, which has earned him criticism from his own party.

One such Republican is former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, who is also running for the top of the GOP ticket. Hutchinson has been openly critical of Trump, but during a Tuesday morning appearance on The View, he aimed his ire at DeSantis for failing to adhere to the conservative principles of small government.

At issue is DeSantis’ penchant for attacking businesses, and not just Disney. During the pandemic, Hutchinson claims DeSantis went after other companies that disagreed with him, and the Arkansas governor doesn’t like it.

Via The View on Twitter:

You asked about Ron DeSantis. We govern similarly, a little bit different, but you know, a lot of freedom during the pandemic. I didn’t classify businesses as essential or non-essential. If a business provides a job for a family, my judgement is that it was essential. But he took it a step further and he went after- he punished businesses who disagreed with him.

Fundamentally, it’s not small government. It’s not Republican. It’s not conservative to say we’re going to use the power of government to go after a business that we disagree with.

Hutchinson also differentiated himself from DeSantis in another significant way. When asked if he would pardon Trump, which DeSantis is open to doing, Hutchinson bluntly responded with a laugh, “No.”

Shameik Moore On Why We All Love Miles Morales In ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’

We hear a lot about the importance of Miles Morales as a character, which is 100 percent true, but we’ve all seen characters deemed important not quite break through. Not like Miles Morales anyway. When I asked Shameik Moore what makes Miles such a great character – who is voicing Miles for the second time now in the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – he distills Miles into a simple and poignant answer: “I think people love Miles because he’s the kind of human that you would want in your life.” Yep, that’s it. What a great answer. (Actually, ahead, Shameik Moore has a whole host of great answers.)

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (which, somehow, came out five years ago) wound up grossing just under $400 million worldwide and wound up winning an Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film for its trouble. It became a cultural event. Now, the sequel – directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson; the first half of a two-part story – goes even bigger as Miles, who, deep down, just wants to be accepted, teams up with (but isn’t let into) the Spider-Society – a multi-dimensional organization made up of the most elite Spider-Mans of the multiverse, which reunites Miles with Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld). Run by Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac), the mission of the group is to keep the multiverse in order by making sure each universe’s Spider-Man has their “canon event.“ The event that makes each Spider-Man who they are, like, for instance, Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben dying. Miles and Miguel don’t really see eye to eye on all this, which sets off a chain of events that will take us into the next film, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Ahead, Shameik Moore takes us through his relationship with Miles Morales. When he worked on the first film, he was pretty close to Miles’s age. Now, five years later, what’s it like going back to Miles? How does he feel when he hears people talk about Miles and they don’t realize he’s the voice of Miles? Does he want to jump in and say something? (Hint: he does not.) It’s obvious how much joy Miles brings Moore and, honestly, when you speak to Moore, the feeling is pretty infectious.

I get the sense doing press on this movie is a lot more intense than the last one…

It’s been an adventure. This is the first press tour I’ve done like this, but the first time around was a lot of fun, too. We did some traveling as well, but I think maybe just a few more days. People have expectations now.

The first one no one knew what to expect and is such a unique experience, but now everyone wants this to be more unique.

Yeah. Well, how do you feel?

Well, this one leaves you wanting another one right away. Does that make sense?

Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. I totally get it. It’s a lot of story. There’s a lot of emotion and heart in this film. Yeah, I think the fans will definitely want a third one.

I do think this one has more stuff in it, that repeat viewing will reward.

It depends on perspective. I think it’s definitely a movie you’re going to have to watch more than once, or should watch more than once. Because this story, it’s bigger than Miles Morales. I think we came into Spider-Man, into the Spider-Verse and we were introduced to Miles. And it was cool because it’s not like we didn’t honor Peter. Miles was learning from Peter, so it was like he was accepted by the Spider-Man fans and franchise. And we fell in love with Miles for a whole bunch of reasons. And so now maybe Miles Morales fans are going to come into this film expecting Miles Morales 98 percent of the time and find out that this is across the Spider-Verse. And within that, this movie is made for true Spider-Man fans. For people that really grew up on it and have their own stories, from before Tobey’s live-action version, of their connection and relationship to Spider-Man. This film honors the Spider-Man franchise, and so it could feel like an explosion of Spider love.

“Spider love.” That’s good.

There’s an explosion of Spider love! But the through-line is definitely Miles and Gwen. And that’s what makes it exciting because, with all of these spiders, it’s kind of like, where’s your individuality amongst people that get it? Miles’s whole thing at the beginning of this film is, “I want to be around people that get it. I want to expand my knowledge and my capabilities. I want to be tested on another level.” And when he gets to this other dimension and he wants to be accepted by the Spider Society, it’s kind of like, “Okay, I get where you’re coming from. I understand we’re all tied together by these same kind of tragic moments.”

The cannon events.

The cannon events. “But you can’t tell me how my story is supposed to go. I’m going to go and I’m going to do my own thing and there’s nothing you can do about it because I am Miles Morales.” And I think that that’s how he decides to wear that mask. And I feel like it’s so relatable on a human level because… I’m known mostly as an actor right now, and I was told I’d never be an actor by my drama teacher. I was told I would never be a dancer by my best friends and et cetera. I was told I’d never do a lot of things.

I was at the Sundance premiere of Dope, which you’re really great in. You seemed like such a natural then. I can’t believe anyone ever said that to you.

And that’s just perspective. I mean, at some point in this film, that’s exactly how people are going to feel. I bet you Miguel O’Hara is going to say the same thing to Miles one day. That’s just how it’s going to go. I mean, we have to write our own stories and we have to believe in ourselves. It’s about how you wear that mask. It’s just a leap of faith.

I can’t believe the first one came up five years ago now…

Absolutely.

Back then you were closer to Miles’s actual age. So what’s it like going back to that kind of era of your life and being a kid again in this one?

I mean, I feel one with Miles. I seek validation often, and it’s something I work on with my therapist, to be honest with you [laughs]. And as Miles puts on that mask and I have a Spider Punk in my life that’s like, “Yo, you don’t need to be accepted by the society.” It’s cool to be an individual. Stick to that. I have a Gwen in my life, where I’ve just … I’m inspired by other actors or artists that express themselves on different mediums that are doing it the way that I see it in my mind that I’d like to do it – and encourages me to want to take it up to that notch because I can see myself being capable of operating on that level. So yeah, I relate to Miles today, and I don’t think it’s a age thing, man. I think it’s a human thing. I think it’s a human thing.

Part of the theme of this movie is Miles wanting to tell the people he loves he’s Spider-Man. I am curious, have you ever been in a situation where you want to drop that information, but have to figure out a nonchalant way to do it?

I literally never do it, ever.

Oh, I would want to do it all the time. I respect you for that then. There’s no way I couldn’t do that.

I mean, it is just how I’m raised though. I can’t even afford to do it like that. It’s about what you do. My mom always said, “Don’t tell me you love me. Show me.” So that’s just how I’m raised. There’s no way I could tell you, “Hey, I’m Spider-Man. Now be friends with me.”

Oh no, I’m thinking more like, let’s say there’s a kid walking down the street with a Miles Morales shirt on. Don’t you want to kind of be like, “Hey, guess what?”

I’ll tell you a story.

Okay.

I was eating ramen with my assistant. I found this really great ramen spot. And next to me – I was talking; we were having a conversation – and next to me, the kid heard my voice. He was sitting with his dad enjoying ramen. And then out of nowhere, he is like, “I really can’t wait to see this Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, this new movie.”

Oh, that’s amazing.

They start talking about the movie right next to us. And I guess one would be like, “Hey, I’m Miles Morales.” But, no, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them talk about how they were looking forward to this movie coming out.

You would’ve made everyone’s day if you would’ve chimed in and said that though.

I’m sure. Maybe, possibly. But I was able to enjoy it because I still had 30 more minutes to sit there to eat and enjoy the conversation I was having. And I really thoroughly enjoyed hearing this kid and his dad have a conversation. And I hope they enjoy the movie I was working on while they were sitting next to me.

So I’ve watched quite a few interviews with you. You’re asked a lot about the importance of Miles Morales. And, obviously, that’s true, but I’ve been thinking a lot about this and importance is great, but if the character isn’t good then it doesn’t last. I’ve seen other characters marketed as important but don’t last. At his heart Miles is a kid who wants to be accepted.

Yeah. Totally. I feel like Miles was introduced in a natural way. It wasn’t so much like, “Hey, we now have a black Puerto Rican Spider-Man who is replacing Peter Parker.” We have a black and Puerto Rican Spider-Man who learned how to be Spider-Man from Peter Parker. I think that was a really important key to it all. Because I’m seeing, even my costar Hailey, I think she was showing us a video of her, either little cousin? Or nephew? Or maybe her little brother? I’m not sure. He’s running around in the video. He’s wearing a Spider-Man suit. He said, “Don’t call me Spider-Man. Call me Miles.” This is bigger than color.

This is bigger than race. This is bigger than any of that. The whole point is that all of us can wear the mask. And you can take it literally and make it Spider-Man because it is a Spider-Man movie and et cetera. But I truly believe it’s the metaphor because – maybe that’s because I speak in metaphors – but I believe the mask is just embracing that part of yourself, your superpower. You and I are just meeting and having a conversation. But I feel like you love comics or you love being a journalist or covering films or interesting storylines and bringing light to creativity itself. Even your toys on your wall…

Yeah, you weren’t supposed to see those. I had to switch rooms because my laptop’s power just nosedived and I had to plug in.

Oh, I love it though.

It went from 80 percent to 4 in just a couple minutes. I don’t know what happened there. So now you get to see all this.

And I think it’s sick. That’s what makes you you. That’s your fingerprint. That’s how you wear the mask. And you asking questions that are interesting, that open up the perspective of why people should go watch this film and et cetera is how you wear that mask.

As long as we’re here, I’ve got got a good one for you. There’s Miles, right over here.

Look at that! You see? You see? We’re all connected through that web. So I think people love Miles because he’s the kind of human that you would want in your life.

I’m curious, everyone involved on the creative side of this movie, I know how meticulous they can be. I’ve seen you say you just follow directions. But there have to have been a couple of times you were like, “I don’t think Miles would say this.” And I think they would listen to you.

I mean, if I was like, “Hey guys, I really need you to listen to me,” I’m sure they would. But I don’t question those guys, man. I learned from them. I know my place. I’m a creative being and these guys are uber-successful, very creative. They’re respected as creatives by the people at the top of the totem pole and the decision-making seats and how they move with grace. If I’m Chris, Phil, Kemp, or any of these guys, I would definitely appreciate having actors give their input. But I more so appreciate them doing that when I’m doing something wrong or need something to be changed or whatever. So, if there was something that didn’t feel authentic to me as a young black man playing Miles Morales, then I would speak. But they didn’t have that issue at all.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to this coming out because people keep asking me about it…

Don’t tell them anything!

I’m not!

So they’ll have to see it a couple of times.

‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ opens in theaters on June 2nd. You can contact Mike Ryan directly on Twitter.

Did Megan Thee Stallion & Pardi Break Up?

Megan Thee Stallion is enjoying her hot girl summer. Based on recent paparazzi captured photos, the “Savage” rapper might be enjoying it with new arm candy. But, after being stopped out with Belgian soccer player Romelu Lukaku, fans are wondering when did Megan Thee Stallion and Pardi break up?

Rumors of the musical pair’s split first hit the net around Valentine’s Day. However, earlier this month, Pardi’s poetry performance at Da Poetry Lounge in Los Angeles made supporters believe the two had reconciled.

After dedicating the piece to seemingly dedicated to the Houston Hottie or, as he stated, “another beautiful woman that I know,” that would’ve been a safe bet.

“You’re a survivor but not a victim, somewhere in between ‘God forgive him’ and ‘I gotta get him / That’s why you don’t ever let these bitches get you out your rhythm/ You treat these n*****s like they’re buy one get one/ You out here working to keep your mind off hurting,” said Pardi during the set.

It doesn’t appear that his heartfelt lyrics did much to spark a public response from the rapper. Across both entertainers’ Instagram profiles, any evidence of their relationship has been removed. If the duo officially called it quits, the couple dated for over two years.

Padma Lakshmi Is Coming For Martha Stewart’s ‘Swimsuit’ Record (In, Like, 30 Years)

Here’s something fun that happened recently: 81-year-old Martha Stewart made history by becoming the oldest person to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated‘s annual swimsuit issue, breaking the record previously set by Elon Musk’s mom. She might not hold it for long, however. Only 30-ish years.

Top Chef and Taste the Nation host Padma Lakshmi is also in the 2023 swimsuit issue, and she wants to someone be on the cover. “I hope,” she told Page Six about breaking Stewart’s record. “I mean, listen, if I’m still doing covers like she is at 80 plus. I mean, God, more power to her. And she’s always been someone I’ve admired, so why should this be any different?”

Lakshmi told Page Six recently that when her publicist called her with the invite, she thought it was a prank. “I was like, ’No, you’re sh*tting me.’ Literally, I was like, ‘That’s not true, it’s so surreal,’” she recalled with a laugh. “I thought it would happen one day for me when I was in my 20s and 30s and a model, but it never did, so I really thought that ship had sailed. So it’s almost sweeter happening at this age.”

And it will be even sweeter in 2051, when Lakshmi is the same age that Stewart is now. She’ll have to cut down from 9,000 to 8,000 calories a day to get there. This, of course, assumes that Stewart doesn’t appear on the cover again when she’s 85, or 90, or 120. She broke up with Anthony Hopkins because she couldn’t stop thinking about Hannibal Lecter — Martha knows how to take care of herself.

Janelle Monáe’s Begrudgingly Released Clean ‘Lipstick Lover’ Video Tries (But Mostly Fails) To Tame The NSFW Visual

These days, there tend to by only a small handful of music videos in a given year that could be considered a cultural event. Here in 2023, Janelle Monáe’sLipstick Lover” visual is definitely one of them, as the NSFW clip absolutely set the internet on fire earlier this month. Now, though, Monáe has broadened the audience of the clip with a new “clean” version (emphasis on the quotation marks).

Sharing the visual on Twitter, Monáe wrote, “Aight after much back and forth and private court dates i decided to release the sinsored ‘clean virgin’ of ‘Lipstick Lover’ against my will! It’s now avail on YouTube. I added 100 more pixels by hand so y’all bet not sneak and watch the original. Enjoy loves!”

Indeed, it’s true that there are now a bunch of pixelated portions of the video, but really, the point still comes across. There are still plenty of butts hanging around a pool, and the carefree, sex-positive nature of the party depicted in the video remains well intact here.

Watch the clean “Lipstick Lover” video above.

DaniLeigh Was Arrested For DUI After A Hit & Run That Left The Alleged Victim With A Fractured Spine

DaniLeigh‘s legal troubles continued over the holiday weekend as she was arrested this morning in her native Miami Beach. According to TMZ, the “Lil Bebe” singer is accused of driving drunk, getting into a hit-and-run collision which left the victim with a fractured spine. Witnesses say they saw DaniLeigh swerving lanes at high speed, striking a motor scooter, and dragging it for about a block; an officer was flagged down by a bystander.

When she was stopped, the officer says she smelled like alcohol, failed a field sobriety test, and was ordered to take a breathalyzer test. Her breath test was reportedly nearly double the legal limit and she was booked into county jail for driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury, and damage to property — all felonies. The man she allegedly hit with her car was treated at a nearby hospital for a lacerated kidney and a spinal fracture.

DaniLeigh was previously investigated for assault after an altercation with rapper DaBaby, with whom she shares a child, on Instagram Live in 2021. Meanwhile, the fallout of that incident led to a bowling alley brawl between DaniLeigh’s brother and DaBaby’s entourage, prompting her brother to sue DaBaby for assault, battery, emotional distress, and negligence.
