Beyoncé opened her Renaissance World Tour at Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on Wednesday, May 10, and suddenly, the Beyhive had plenty of reasons to forget their collective displeasure over Beyoncé holding back the Renaissance visuals since the album’s July 2022 release.

The Renaissance World Tour featured Beyoncé in all her glory, and one person on Twitter did the Lord’s work by documenting every single outfit Queen Bey wore on stage throughout her all-encompassing set.

Vogue relayed that Beyoncé’s custom looks were designed by Anrealage, Jonathan Anderson, Olivier Rousteing for Balmain, David Koma, and more.

“Overall, the tour feels like a fabulous embodiment of the techno and ballroom-infused sound of Renaissance, which Beyoncé has described as an ode to dance music and queer culture,” Vogue‘s André-Naquian Wheeler wrote. “They also continue the singer’s streak of ostentatiously avant-garde couture fashion for the album’s innovative visual campaigns. A teaser for ‘I’m That Girl,’ which runs a little under two minutes, featured a chaotic flurry of over a dozen custom looks by Schiaparelli, Balenciaga, and others. Beyoncé is well and truly in her fashion girl era.”

Members of the Beyhive who weren’t present for opening night in Sweden have another chance at Friends Arena tonight, May 11, before the Renaissance World Tour moves to Brussels, Belgium on May 14. See all of the dates here.

Howard Stern didn’t hold back his thoughts on the Coronation of King Charles that consumed England over the past weekend. The shock jock blasted the event, which somehow culminated in an American Idol cameo, and the whole country for pretending that their new monarch is some sort of war hero.

“First of all Prince Charles is a p*ssy,” Stern said to begin his rant. “That’s number one. And people are acting – the whole ceremony they’re acting like that f*cking guy went to war or something and then beat up all the other people. They’re like ‘We swear our allegiance to you and you’re a great warrior. I mean the whole thing is f*cking nuts and in this day and age.”

After mocking the praise heaped on Prince Charles, Stern got serious and tackled the economic reality of the lavish event. Via Variety:

“It was disgusting and I’ll tell you why it’s disgusting,” said Stern. “It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to say this but England’s having its own economic problems and they spent a fortune on that coronation. And it’s just repugnant to watch a country who’s suffering through economic problems and then you see the pomp and circumstance.”

Of course, Howard had some thoughts on King Charles and Camilla the Queen appearing on American Idol, which is reportedly believed the deal that was reached to get Katy Perry and Lionel Richie to perform at the Coronation after several acts refused to serenade the event.

“They’re like two wooden boards, they’re like vampires, they’re stiff,” Stern quipped. “I thought they were cardboard cut outs at first they wheeled [on].”

Rihanna kicked off this year with a colossal Super Bowl halftime performance packed with hits and a pregnancy announcement. However, the name of her son who she had with her boyfriend ASAP Rocky (real name Rakim Athelston Mayers) last year has remained unknown… until now.

According to The Daily Mail, who obtained the birth certificate, the name is RZA Athelston Mayers. Since Rihanna has been spotted in Wu-Tang Clan merch, it’s safe to assume it’s a reference to the member of the group.

The “Diamonds” singer was also turning heads at the Met Gala earlier this month. She was fashionably late and discussed how her second pregnancy has been. “It’s so different from the first one! Just everything,” she said. “All of my… no cravings, tons of nausea, everything’s different. But I’m enjoying it, I’m enjoying it. I feel good. I feel energetic.”

In December of last year, Rocky talked about being a father. “Honestly, I think fatherhood gives me more time to do exactly what I want,” he said. “I don’t have time for anything that isn’t priorities. It helps you prioritize, honestly. I love it. Everything is just based around my newfound love for being a dad and a family man. It’s lit right now. I can’t even describe it. Yo, you see this smile! I’m all smiles right now, man.”

Yorgos Lanthimos’ movies are, to a certain degree (and for lack of a better word), weird. Think: the dance scene in The Lobster; the spaghetti scene in The Killing of a Sacred Deer; basically every scene in Dogtooth. But even by his high standards, Lanthimos’ next film, Poor Things, looks weird as hell.

In the fantastical and heavily stylized teaser above, Emma Stone slaps Mark Ruffalo in the face, Willem Dafoe has a fascinating scar, and Ramy Youssef looks like an evil scientist. “I am finding being alive fascinating,” Stone says at one point. Same, except I am finding Poor Things fascinating.

From filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos and producer Emma Stone comes the incredible tale and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.

Poor Things, which is based on Alasdair Gray’s novel of the same name with a screenplay from Tony McNamara (The Favourite), opens on September 8.

To say that people are excited about the South Park creators resurrecting Casa Bonita would be a profane understatement. The “eatertainment” venue expects millions of visitors annually, and that does sound realistic. Heck, there’s already a planned camp-out event in the works for fans who are ready for the eventual opening date. And when will that be? Trey Parker and Matt Stone (along with famed chef Dana “Loco” Rodriguez) previously announced that May is the magic month, and yet, no specific date has been offered. And people are getting a little antsy, it seems.

The Denver Post recently relayed that all necessary permits are in place, and there are less than three weeks left in May, so when will the sopapillas flow? The Denver Gazette reports that, in response to a rumor that appears to have begun on social media, eager fans did gather in hopes that the doors would fly open on Cinco de Mayo. Alas, this did not happen, and a worker in a nearby establishment had an apt comparison:

Casa Bonita faithful chased a red herring Friday, and some even turned out to be first-in-line for a rumored opening, but new owners and “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were Cinco de Mayo no-shows.

“It’s all so secretive. It’s like working next door to the CIA,” Terry King said.

King also revealed that he heard about a cell-phone ban among workers ahead of the opening, and even “that security guards had to turn off their body-worn cameras.” And it’s no wonder because, surely, the new owners don’t want secrets posted on Instagram before those cliff divers are fully ready to roll. One of the establishment’s fans, Stefanni Bonicelli, was present at the Cinco de Mayo false start and is quoted as wistfully wishing, “I just hope the food is better this time around.” Well, Parker and Stone did promise to introduce the novelty of “good” food to the Casa Bonita world, so the wait should be worth it.

Jonas Brothers have a new album, The Album, on the way in a matter of hours now. The fraternal trio isn’t in a particularly unique position of being in a band with family members, but there’s still parts of the experience that are weird. For example: singing songs about sex with your brothers by your side.

A new feature from Bustle notes of a track from the new album, “The low-slung bedroom jam ‘Summer In The Hamptons’ might offer a little bit of insight into how all those next-gen Jonas babies got here, judging by the spelled-out metaphor in the chorus (as in ‘sex with you is like…’) and undulating refrain of ‘champagne ocean, sky wide open, raw emotion.’”

Kevin said of the song, “It’s just natural to speak about your life and where you’re at. Like, that’s my wife and partner in crime of 13 years, you know?” Nick then offered, “We’re always conscious that we’re three brothers singing on stage together. So when we speak about sex specifically, it’s gotta be kind of a nuanced thing, otherwise it can be a little strange.”

Joe added, “Obviously we’re not duetting those songs. Very individual singing in that.”

Elliot Page is feeling good. Looking good, too. The Oscar nominee and The Umbrella Academy star shared a shirtless selfie on his Instagram account, along with a caption about the gratitude he feels for his body.

“Dysphoria used to be especially rife in the summer. No layers, just a T-shirt – or layers and oh so sweaty – constantly looking down, readjusting my oversized T. It feels so f’ing good soaking in the sun now, I never thought I could experience this, the joy I feel in my body,” Page wrote. “I am so grateful for what gender affirming care has allowed me and I look forward to sharing more of my journey soon. #transjoy.”

Page is also preparing for the release of his memoir, Pageboy. “Trans people are facing increasing attacks, from physical violence to the banning of healthcare, and our humanity is regularly ‘debated’ in the media,” he wrote. “The act of writing, reading, and sharing the multitude of our experiences is an important step in standing up to those who wish to silence and harm us. Books have helped me, saved me even, so I hope this can help someone feel less alone, feel seen, no matter who they are or what path they are on.”

Pageboy is available on June 6th.

At last, Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour kicked off in Sweden yesterday (May 10), and the show has her father, Mathew Knowles, in a reflective mood.

Yesterday, he tweeted, “I’m just looking at a video from Beyoncé’s first show in Stockholm. Amazing! Just amazing! I remember when Beyoncé was a little girl and all she wanted to be was an entertainer. She has worked so very hard to be the best entertainer in the world, and I am so immensely proud.”

This comes after a series of tweets shared on May 9, in which Knowles wrote more about his daughter’s childhood and how driven she was:

“Beyoncé kicks off The Renaissance World Tour this week. Believe it or not, I’m often still in awe as I watch her continue to soar to heights that few in history have ever been able to. […] If it’s a passion, you won’t need to tell them to go to practice, pick up the instrument, or show up to class. They’ll want to show up naturally and immerse themselves in it. […] We never once during her childhood had to tell her to show up when it came to music. She was never distracted from her inner drive. She knew what she wanted and she went after it. As parents, we didn’t need for her to be an expert or passionate about everything. She faced challenges in math, for example, but as long as she did her best and focused on her musical passion–we were happy.

For me, the start of Beyoncé’s tour this week isn’t just an addition to an already historic year where she now holds the most Grammy award wins ever. It’s a symbol of human achievement and possibility. It’s a mark of what’s possible when a child is encouraged to chase after their dream. And above all else, it hopefully serves as a beacon of light for young people and dreamers of all shapes and sizes to believe in themselves.

The Los Angeles Lakers entered Wednesday night with an opportunity to punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals. All they had to do was knock off the defending champion Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center, something that has been difficult this season but L.A. was able to accomplish in Game 1.

The Warriors managed to keep them at arm’s length for much of the second half, and midway through the fourth quarter, an incident between Anthony Davis and Kevon Looney meant that any efforts at a late-game push to take the lead away would have to come without the services of perhaps the Lakers’ best players. Following a made layup by D’Angelo Russell, Looney swung his left arm around and accidentally connected with Davis’ face.

Davis went to the bench in some serious discomfort, with his head in his hands as he was tended to by the medical staff. After making his way into the back for further evaluation, it was announced that Davis would not be able to return to the game with what the Lakers described as a head injury.

Haynes went on to report that Davis made his way to the back in a wheelchair. It’s unclear how this could end up impacting Davis beyond this game, but we’ll let you know if this will end up holding him out of anything more than just the remainder of Game 5.

Jenny Lewis fans, rejoice: The singer-songwriter is fully locked into album mode. In Early March, she released the Harry Styles-assisted “Puppy And A Truck” video and revealed her Joy’All Tour slated for July. Weeks later, Lewis announced Joy’All, her first album since 2019, and coupled the news with a new single, “Psychos.”

On Wednesday, May 10, Lewis sweetened the pot with “Giddy Up,” an endearing single in which she makes a strong case for someone to “take a chance on a little romance” because “we’re both adults.”

In a mesmerizingly melodic, soft delivery, Lewis sings, “I’ve been waiting around patiently / I’m not paranoid / But I’m not / Not / Give it up, start living my best life / Giddy up / Get on my pony and ride.”

With the Joy’All announcement in late March, Lewis said in a statement, “I started writing some of these songs on the road, pre-pandemic, and then put them aside as the world shut down, and then from my home in Nashville in early 2021, I joined a week-long virtual songwriting workshop with a handful of amazing artists, hosted by Beck.”

She continued, “The challenge was to write one song every day for seven days, with guidelines from Beck. The guidelines would be prompts like, ‘Write a song with 1-4-5 chord progression,’ ‘write a song with only cliches,’ or ‘write in free form style.’ The first song I submitted to the group was ‘Puppy And A Truck.’”
