will.i.am And Lil Wayne Master ‘The Formula’ With Their Scorching New Single

Ahead of the upcoming F1 Grand Prix Race in Miami, which is set to take place this Sunday (May 7), will.i.am has shared a fiery new collaboration with Lil Wayne.

On “The Formula,” the pop and hip-hop veterans remind listeners of their place in the game. Will experiments with drill sounds as he delivers snappy, clever bars.

“Lightning quick, y’all can’t stick with it / I stay slick like I’m liquid / Super complex, ain’t comin’ simplistic / I told ’em, I told ’em, I told ’em I’m sick with the cold / So let me encode ’em / I got the ammo, so watch me reload ’em /I’m comin’ with flammables, time to explode ’em,” he raps.

Swooping in with some more heat his Wayne, with a verse chock-full of car metaphors

“Call me, ‘Weezy F1’ / My car fly like the Jetson’s / You a small fry, need ketchup / Fall behind or you can catch up / You can fall down or you can step up / Been a long time since I messed up / I told Father Time I’m his step-son,” he raps.

In a recent interview with us, Will pleasantly recalled meeting Wayne for the first time, and described the vibe he got from him.

Ed Sheeran Mourns The ‘End Of Youth’ On A New Song From ‘Subtract’

Grief and loss are recurring themes on Ed Sheeran‘s fifth studio album, . Over the course of the past few years, Sheeran has endured several trying moments. From the loss of his grandmother, his wife Cherry Seaborn’s cancer diagnosis, and the death of his best friend Jamal Edwards, Sheeran has been through the wringer.

But as age-old adages hold, grief is part of getting older, and on one of ‘s most poignant tracks, “End Of Youth,” Sheeran deals with growing pains, as the number of loved ones around him seems to be getting smaller.

“Is this the end of our youth? When pain starts taking over / I just don’t know if I can ever just let it go / Everything’s falling apart, our love is real, it never closes / I guess it’s all part of life, but I can’t help but be alone / We spend our youth with our losing hearts wide open / And in the dark, it’s in the next, the end of youth,” Sheeran sings on the song’s chorus.

While fans will hear several personal accounts from Sheeran over the course of the album, he explained in an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe that he hopes the music will resonate with fans dealing with various forms of grief.

“I sent this record to the record label, and they were like, ‘Is it a breakup album?’ And it’s not. It’s an album about… grief and depression and stuff,” said Sheeran. “I feel that I don’t want to give too much context and hammer it home…I want people to listen to it and relate it to their own life.”

Ed Sheeran Copes With Different Forms Of Trauma On A ‘Subtract’ Standout, ‘Sycamore’

It’s been a rough week for Ed Sheeran. The “Eyes Closed” hitmaker has spent the last few days in court, fighting allegations of plagiarism on his 2014 hit, “Thinking Out Loud.” It was also revealed that he missed his grandmother’s funeral because he was required to appear in court during that time.

Thankfully, Sheeran won his case today (May 4), and has now dropped his long-awaited fifth studio album, .

The album is Sheeran’s most personal yet, as he endured various life-changing events as he was writing for the album. Over the past year, Sheeran’s wife, Cherry Seaborn battled cancer while she was expecting her and Sheeran’s second child. He describes the events and the accompanying emotions on one of ‘s standout tracks, “Sycamore.”

“Right now in the waiting room, emotions running wild / Worried ’bout my lover and I’m worried ’bout a child / Part of me was always in denial
It’s gonna take a little while,” he sings on one of the song’s versus.

Earlier this week, Sheeran premiered his Disney+ documentary, The Sum Of It All, where Seaborn revealed he wrote several songs in a short amount of time after the album’s primary producer Aaron Dessner sent him various instrumental tracks.

In an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, Sheeran explained more about the writing process for the aforementioned songs.

“Aaron will tell you this, but he sent me seven instrumentals one day and I sent them all back in two and a half hours and we have all the time stamps on it,” Sheeran said. “So it was like, and it’s songs like ‘Sycamore,’ which is one of my favorite songs…That’s what I find really uncomfortable about the release of the album is I have no idea. It’s foreign territory for me… even with Plus or Multiply, it’s like you write for three years and you pick the best songs and then that’s the album. Whereas this one, I wrote for a month and all of those songs are coming out. There’s a bonus of the album with eight songs and that’s all that I wrote in that time. And it’s coming out. And it’s not even necessarily a risk because it is what my fans originally liked me for, which was singer-songwriter stuff. Each my albums, I’ve always been like, well, I know I’ve got this and I know I’ve got this and I know I’ve got this.”

Tomorrow, Sheeran will bring “Subtract” to life with the album’s visual component, which will premiere at 11 a.m. EST on YouTube.

In the meantime, you can listen to “Sycamore” above.

Who Dies In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’?

[WARNING: this post contains spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3]

If you’re not already a vegetarian, you might be after watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. As one headline accurately notes, the 32nd (!) film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe “deserves a content warning for violence against animals.” What does that mean for our dear friend Rocket Raccoon and his unscannable hands? Well, he (barely) makes out of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 alive, but his animal companions aren’t so lucky.

In flashback scenes, we learn Rocket’s origin story and how he learned to talk and fly spaceships. We also meet otter Lylla (voiced by Linda Cardellini); walrus Teefs (Asim Chaudhry); and bunny Floor (Mikaela Hoover). They’ve been experimented on by the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji), and when Rocket learns that they’re going to be killed the following day, he plans an escape — but Lylla, Teefs, and Floor are killed before they can see the endless blue sky. It’s one of the saddest scenes in MCU history.

Less sad is the High Evolutionary’s death, because f*ck that guy.

Other deaths in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 include: Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki in a wild performance), who gets blown up in front of her literally golden son, Adam Warlock (Will Poulter); War Pig, a robot pig voiced by Judy Greer, which is a fun sentence; and tens of thousands, if not millions of citizens on Counter-Earth. But at least Cosmo is alive (and a good dog)!

So, to recap, all the Guardians make it out of Vol. 3 alive, but the High Evolutionary, Ayesha, War Pig Voiced By Judy Greer, and Rocket’s friends die. James Gunn better turn off his notifications for the Lylla scene.

Dramatic video shows Florida sheriff’s deputy delivering a baby on the side of the road

No mom dreams of delivering their baby on the side of the road. Visions of comfy birthing centers or a hospital room with the OBGYN that you’ve grown fond of are usually the images that come to mind. But not everyone has a delivery in their place of choice, and women that have birthed more than one child typically have faster labors.

People who have a lot of children often know their bodies and sense how quickly their babies might come, so they try to make it to the hospital before things get interesting. A couple in Florida who were expecting their sixth child attempted to head to the hospital before the baby arrived, but the baby had other plans.

Knowing he had to get his wife to the hospital quickly, Luis Lopez pulled over when he saw deputies on the side of the road and flagged them down for a police escort.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), the sheriff’s deputy couldn’t provide the couple with a police escort. He called for an ambulance and put on some gloves instead. Good thing, too, because within a few minutes, he was going to be catching a baby and the entire thing was caught on video.

It’s the kind of thing that’s not only intense but incredibly heartwarming. The Hillsborough deputy, Dan “Red” Jones, was extremely calm and used a soothing voice to encourage the mom, but he didn’t skip out on making a joke when he finds out it was the couple’s sixth child.

“Six! Woo, y’all need a better hobby, OK,” Jones joked.

Turns out this isn’t the first baby the deputy has delivered on the job; it’s his third. He also used to work with cattle and helped deliver calves, so he knows plenty about birthing babies—at least more than the average person. Maybe he missed his calling. Either way, he was just who was needed in that moment.

Check out the dramatic video below:

We are pleased to report that Mom and baby are healthy and doing just fine.

Madonna Fans Think The Mythical Biopic Is Back On After She And Julia Garner Were Seen Partying Together

Fans of both Madonna and Julia Garner are in good spirits, as the two appear to have reunited over french fries. Last June, Garner, of Ozark and Inventing Anna fame, was tapped to play Madonna in a biopic based on her life. Several actresses were said to have auditioned to play Madge, including Euphoria‘s Sydney Sweeney and Don’t Worry Darling‘s Florence Pugh.

While fans were elated for the budding superstar to play Madonna, the biopic was revealed to have been indefinitely shelved back in January.

Now, fans are theorizing that the project is back on, after the two were seen partying and sharing fries.

“Glad Madonna 1. Doesn’t hate Julia Garner and 2. Hasn’t locked Julia Garner in a Madonna Biopic Training Camp hell basement,” said one fan on Twitter.

“Does this mean the Madonna biopic is still a go?!?,” said another fan in reaction to the photos. “B*tch we’re Madonna” is pretty clear confirmation, right?”

If the biopic is back on, it’s safe to assume production won’t resume anytime soon. This July, Madonna will kick off her international Celebration Tour, celebrating four decades of hit.

Report: Tom Brady Might Not Call Games For Fox After All

Two years ago, Tom Brady signed a deal with Fox to become their next lead NFL analyst whenever he retired. His deal was a record-setting one, obliterating any other broadcasting contract at 10 years, $375 million.

However, after retiring (again) earlier this year, Brady and Fox both agreed to wait until 2024 to start his deal, allowing the future Hall of Famer to take a year off from football completely, and also learn and get more comfortable as a broadcaster. In the meantime, Greg Olsen will remain Fox’s lead analyst alongside Kevin Burkhardt during the 2023 NFL season, but it’s possible Olsen’s tenure in the lead booth will not just be a stopgap.

Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported on Thursday during an episode of The Marchand and Ourand Sports Media Podcast that he was now leaning more toward Brady backing out of his massive deal entirely.

Marchand says he’s spoken with some close to Brady recently who noted the former star isn’t sure he wants to commit to the travel schedule of calling games full-time, noting he wouldn’t want to go into it at anything less than 100 percent, which means 4 days on the road each week as opposed to arriving on game day. While that’s not exactly a huge lift for someone making $37.5 million per year, Brady isn’t exactly hurting for money right now and, as Marchand notes, he shares custody of his children with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen.

It was always fairly surprising that Brady agreed to such a long-term deal to be in the booth immediately after retiring, because the travel requirements and general workload is the reason Peyton Manning has turned down every network’s overtures to land NFL broadcasting’s white whale. ESPN finally was able to land him for the Manningcast, but that’s 10 weeks during the season and is done from the comfort of his home (which, the brothers not being in the same room and stepping on each other and guests remains the biggest issue with the show). Brady now seems to be realizing he may also not want to commit to that lifestyle, and will have the next year-plus to decide whether he wants to move forward with his deal with Fox or if he’ll be turning down $375 million.

Jung Kook Is Asking The BTS Army To Stop Ordering Food To Be Delivered To His House

Jung Kook of BTS has mad love for the fans, known as the BTS Army. While the K-Pop boy band is on hiatus serving their mandatory time in the Korean military, the boys have been keeping fans fed with solo music. Fans all around the world are showing love to BTS as individuals and as a group, even if they won’t hear new music from them for a long time.

But perhaps, there may be such a thing as loving something or someone too much. Today (May 4), Jung Kook took to WeVerse to ask fans to stop ordering food to be delivered to his house.

Translated from Korean, Jung Kook wrote, “Don’t send home delivery food. I won’t eat it even if you give it to me. I’m thankful, but I eat well. You can buy it yourself.”

While it is remarkable that some fans were able to track down Jung Kook’s home, he reminded the army that two can play at that game. He warned fans that if this continues, he will take some sort of legal recourse.

“I beg you,” Jung Kook continued. “If you send it one more time, I will check the receipt order number you sent and take action. So stop it.”

The Best Wines For Every Type Of Taco On Cinco De Mayo

Tacos and beer may be the more popular pairing, but when matched with the right bottle tacos and wine are simply out of this world. While a crisp, light Mexican lager certainly offers a refreshing reprieve, the acidity and tannins found in wine promise to complement—and even accentuate—the savory flavors found in your favorite tacos.

As with any dish, understanding the foundations of food and wine pairing is key, and while you may feel slightly intimidated, it’s actually not as difficult as you think. Simply take the main components in food (salt and fat) and marry them with the structural components of wine (acid, body, and, in the case of red wine, tannins). Lastly, in addition to considering the base protein, take all factors of the taco—sauce, toppings, and veggies—into consideration. Even spice level plays a part.

Still feel a bit lost? We’ve got you covered. Check out our six essential wine and taco pairings below, then apply the explanations to additional tacos not listed down the line. Fair warning, your go-to stash of Mexican beer may end up lasting longer than you think.

TACOS AL PASTOR

best wine for taco night
Uproxx

Pairing: Juicy, light to medium-bodied reds – Grenache/Garnacha, New World Pinot Noir

THE BREAKDOWN:

Fans of pork are no strangers to the sweet-yet-savory delights of tacos al pastor. Crafts with a variety of spices, including cumin, garlic, and chipotle powder, these tacos are uniquely topped with pineapple—which is key to consider when choosing a wine pairing. While pork can generally stand up to medium to fuller-bodied reds on its own, the added sweetness from the pineapple calls for something a bit more light and fruit-forward.

Reach for a juicy New World Pinot Noir or Garnacha for a match made in heaven.

Go-to Bottles:

Envinate Albahra Tinto (Garnacha), Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir

GROUND BEEF TACOS

best wine for taco night
Uproxx

Pairing: Medium-bodied reds – Mencia, Cabernet Franc, Barbera

THE BREAKDOWN:

Remember the El Paso taco kit of your youth? That’s what we’re talking about here—think seasoned ground beef, crispy hard shells, and the basic fixins. We’re approaching this pairing like we would any similarly seasoned red meat, meaning that a number of medium-bodied reds with medium to high acid and moderate tannins—such as Mencia, Cabernet Franc, and Barbera—would work great here. Whether Spanish, French, or Italian is what your palate’s craving, there’s a medium-bodied red out there that promises to pair perfectly with your nostalgic taco choice du jour.

Go-to Bottles:

Descendants de J. Palacios Petalos Mencia, Baudry Chinon, Oddero Barbera d’Alba

FISH TACOS

best wine for taco night
Uproxx

Pairing: High-acid white wines – Albariño, Txakoli

THE BREAKDOWN:

There are a number of ways that fish tacos are prepared, with the most stark difference being grilled or fried. However, in the realm of this particular wine pairing, no matter how you prepare your protein, a bottle of high-acid white is the way to go. For fried fish tacos, we tend to reach for something with a bit of effervescence—think Spanish Txakoli or a Portuguese Vinho Verde, but a salty Albariño or even Sauvignon Blanc would work just fine here.

Go-to Bottles:

Quinta Consuelo Albariño, Pazo das Bruxas Albariño, Granbazan Txakoli

CARNE ASADA TACOS

best wine for taco night
Uproxx

Pairing: Smoky, earth-driven reds – Etna Rosso, Old World Pinot Noir, Listán Negro

THE BREAKDOWN:

For a complementary carne asada taco pairing that can go the limits, look no further than smoky, earth-driven reds. This famous style of taco, generally produced from inexpensive and easy-to-slice steak, comes marinated in garlic-lime-mesquite dressing prior to being grilled—the mesquite being the key pairing factor here. When choosing a bottle, look for something with smoky or flinty undertones to really underscore the flavors in the meat here.

While Sicilian Etna Rosso would be our go-to pairing, you really can’t go wrong with Burgundian Pinot Noir—though should you be able to find a Listán Negro from the Canary Islands, we’d definitely spring for that.

Go-to Bottles:

Benanti Etna Rosso, Jérôme Bretaudeau Pinot Noir, Frontón de Oro Tinto

CARNITAS TACOS

best wine for taco night
Uproxx

Pairing: Rosé or Pinot Noir

THE BREAKDOWN:

For meat lovers everywhere, carnitas tacos are also a favorite preparation. Produced from a base of simmered pork, these savory tacos are often topped with a variety of toppings, including cilantro, salsa, lime juice, and oftentimes a hint of guacamole or chopped onions. There’s a lot of flavor going on here, so we recommend keeping it simple and sticking with a high-acid, fruit-forward rosé, which is actually one of the most versatile food-pairing wines out there.

The acidity and fruit-forwardness promise to keep your palate salivating for more, yet the absence of tannins (or moderate presence, should you go with Pinot Noir) pair perfectly with the meat without ever becoming overpowering.

Go-to Bottles:

Trinquevedel Tavel Rosé, Sokol Blosser Kalite Vineyard Pinot Noir

VEGGIE / VEGAN TACOS

best wine for taco night
Uproxx

Pairing: High-acid, herbaceous whites – Sauvignon Blanc, Grüner Veltliner, Vinho Verde

THE BREAKDOWN:

They say that certain veggies—particularly green ones—are hard to pair, though with an herbaceous white on the table, everything is certain to fall into place. Wines with somewhat green undertones (Sauvignon Blanc, Grüner Veltliner, Vinho Verde) and high acidity complement the unique flavors found in veggies, as well as promise to complement whichever type of dressing—chipotle mayo, salsa, or guacamole—that finds itself on top.

Go-to Bottles:

Bailly-Reverdy Sancerre, Brundlmayer Gruner Veltliner, Broadbent Vinho Verde
