A recent poll found that the three grossest words in the English language are “pus,” “phlegm,” and “seepage.” I must respectfully (and disgustedly) disagree. The actual nastiest words are “President,” “Tucker,” and “Carlson.”

Ever since the self-satisfied face of Fox News parted ways with the network, people have wondered what his next step is going to be. Carlson didn’t give any hints in his silence-breaking video that he uploaded to his Twitter account, but Rick Wilson, a former GOP strategist who went on to co-found The Lincoln Project, thinks he knows the answer.

“Tucker is one of the very small number of political celebrities in this country who has the name ID, the personal wealth, the stature to actually declare and run for president and in a Republican primary run in the same track Donald Trump did: the transgressive, bad boy candidate, the one who lets you say what you want to say, think what you want to think, act how you want to act, no matter how grotesque it is,” he told the Guardian.

Wilson said that among Republicans, Carlson is “a beloved figure. He’s right now in the Republican universe a martyr – and there ain’t nothing they want more than a martyr.” If he ran for president, “there is an argument to be made that he’s the one person who could beat Trump.”

“I think the worst thing we can do is imagine the worst-case scenario can never happen. Because the worst-case scenario has happened any number of times in the last eight years.”

A woman’s 2019 assault and kidnapping lawsuit against Soulja Boy has come to its conclusion, and the rapper must pay his ex-girlfriend over $200,000, according to Rolling Stone.

The woman, Kayla Myers, said in 2019 that Soulja Boy and his assistant had assaulted her after she was kicked out of a party at his house. After arguing with the assistant, she said Soulja Boy broke up their scuffle but then punched and kicked her, pistol-whipped her, then tied her to a chair in his garage for six hours with either an extension cord or duct tape according to conflicting reports. Myers was said to have suffered three broken ribs and a concussion.

Soulja Boy, of course, denied the accusations, saying that he never even saw Myers on the night in question and that all the damage could be attributed to his manager, the woman Myers fought with. He also accused her of making up the kidnapping angle. Police were unable to find evidence of any criminal actions, but they did arrest him on weapons possession charges; he served three months in prison.

According to Rolling Stone, the $235,900 award was broken up as such: $1,800 for “mental health expenses,” and $234,100 for “physical and mental pain and suffering.”

In February, Karol G shared Mañana Será Bonito. With performances on Saturday Night Live and a fiery video with Shakira, the singer successfully built the hype for the music. Now, she’s bringing the songs to the road.

Today (April 27), Karol announced the Mañana Será Bonito Tour, a six-date run in the US in addition to her slot at Lollapalooza. On social media, she shared a playful teaser clip.

In our interview with Karol about the LP, she talked about working with Shakira. “She was very sweet! All the photos we have together, we are literally laughing,” she explained. “There was a lot of pressure days before to shoot this video. I was super afraid of how the vibe and energy would be like, but when we were on set, it was incredible. We had a great time. We helped each other a lot. We had a lot of admiration for each other. When she was filming, I was there. When I was filming, she was there. We were cheering each other on. Everything has been special.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene‘s latest attack is being roundly criticized for being beyond the pale even for her. In what’s becoming a recurring theme, the Georgia congresswoman went off the rails during a House committee meeting where she essentially implied that stepmoms are not real moms.

The exchange happened during a hearing on COVID school closures, which saw Greene attack American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten for adopting her partner’s children. Via Rolling Stone:

“Are you a mother?” Greene asked. Weingarten responded that she is a “mother by marriage.” Weingarten is married to Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum, and a stepmother to Kleinbaum’s children from her previous marriage. “I see,” Greene responded.

She’s “not a medical doctor, not a biological mother, and really not a teacher either,” Greene went on to say. “People like you need to admit that you’re just a political activist, not a teacher, not a mother, and not a medical doctor,” Greene added.

Greene was quickly chastised by Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Ca.) who instructed Greene to respect the decorum of the chamber.

“The decorum of the attacks on the witness were unacceptable,” Garcia said. “It would be nice if we didn’t attack the witnesses, particularly making a decision about whether or not she is a mother.”

Garcia also posted a video of the encounter on Twitter where Greene was widely slammed for criticizing adoptive parents, particularly given her aggressively anti-abortion chance which hinges on the narrative that babies should be carried to term, under any circumstance, and given up for adoption.

Kendrick Lamar‘s latest record Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers was a massive hit last year. It earned the most first-day streams for a 2022 album on Apple Music. He brought the songs to life on the Big Steppers Tour, and it looks like that did well, too.

According to Hypebeast, the tour was the highest-grossing rap tour in history, generating over $100 million and selling a total of 929,000 tickets for 73 shows and earning $110.9 million. It ran through the US, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. It featured Baby Keem and Tanna Leone as supporting acts.

Last year, the “Humble” performer also sold the most vinyl of any hip-hop artist in 2022. However, it was actually not for Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. Instead, it was the 10th-anniversary reissue of Good Kid, MAAD City, his critically-acclaimed 2012 debut. It also became the first hip-hop record to spend 10 years on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

If you didn’t catch Lamar on the Big Steppers Tour, he’ll be playing a bunch of festivals this year that will definitely be worth catching. He’ll be headlining the major stages at Outside Lands alongside Foo Fighters and Odesza, Life Is Beautiful with The Killers and The 1975, and Lollapalooza next to Billie Eilish and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Jack Harlow is less than a year removed from his last album and only a month away from his film debut. So, perhaps that makes it a perfect time for him to announce a surprise album, Jackman, just a few days before its release.

Unlike many releases, this truly does feel like a surprise; we don’t know much about the production, features, tracklist, or themes of the album — although it might be safe to assume that Jack has a chip on his shoulder about the lukewarm reception of Come Home The Kids Miss You. His last album was perhaps a little too forward-looking for fans who haven’t quite decided that they approve of him yet, giving many fans reason to write him off.

So, don’t be surprised if he goes back to the introspective, lyrically-focused vibe of his debut, That’s What They All Say — or eschews the thoughtful songs for a more accessible, party-rap style to win fans to his side. Obviously, the most fun outcome is if he doubles down on the throwback sounds of Come Home… and brings the early 2000s all the way back. We’ll find out soon enough.

You’ve surely heard about and enjoyed the Jimmy Kimmel vs. Matt Damon faux-feud, but there’s also a much less palatable (and more sincere) version always simmering in the background. That would be the beef between Kimmel and Ted Cruz, who the late-night host has likened to Nickelback, among other choice labels.

The war of words also once extended to Kimmel photoshopping Cruz’s face to look like he rode a hot dog while naked, and the two enemies haven’t had enough yet. On Wednesday night, Kimmel aimed at Cruz after rehashing leaked audio (between Cruz and Fox Business host Maria Baritromo) of the much maligned Texas lawmaker discussing a shady plan to overturn the election. Kimmel, naturally, was disgusted by this and summed up his thoughts by telling Cruz to go to Cancun.

Ted then decided that the best response was to re-post a video (again) of “my kicking his ass at hoops” during a 2018 charity match. Ted’s suggestion is that Kimmel is obsessed with him: “It’s almost as if he can’t get out of his head.”

Hmm. Kimmel never claimed to be a basketball stud, and this was a charity match. Also, Kimmel generally mentions current events and controversies during his monologue, so it’s not as though he could ignore Ted being in the news, especially when it comes to the Baritromo audio. As well, Ted also made headlines due to a Senate hearing, in which a Texas resident called out Cruz‘s support of Texas’ draconian abortion law as the reason why she was denied emergency medical care.

Serious stuff, and the silly stuff still exists on top of that. Because despite all of the grave Ted Cruz-associated news out there, he’s somehow claiming to be a basketball champ. This isn’t new either. The New York Times once published a Cruz profile that revealed how his Supreme Court clerking days include him angering colleagues during basketball breaks by shouting “my bad!” while he “elbowed wildly” to beat them. Well, he does love to throw elbows, but the people are not here for basketball-stud Cruz, as these tweets reveal.

Also, yes, it’s wild that senators have so much time to tweet when the debt ceiling issue is hanging over America.

As the host of The Late Late Show, James Corden slowly but surely has become a household name. While the show’s beloved segment, “Carpool Karaoke,” helped to secure his popularity amongst the younger demographic.

However, even after racking in millions and millions of views and too many viral moments to count, when he goes on vacation with his friend Harry Styles, fame goes out the window. The host is demoted to the singer’s designated fan photographer, and Corden is positively ok with that.

During his recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM radio, the on-air talent spoke about how those humbling moments are quite necessary, in his opinion. “I think it’s quite good for me. I think anytime you can have a little bit of humbling is great,” declared Corden.

“So when someone comes up and goes — and this has happened quite a few times, and I get it,” he added. This is arguably the most desirable famous man on the planet right now. ‘Omg, can you take a photo of us’ and then they go, ‘Oh, hi,’” to finally acknowledge him. “I think it’s a positive thing in your life,” said Corden.

Earlier in the conversation, Corden shot down the host when he suggested that it could be annoying to deal with fan encounters because of Styles’ massive fame. “I didn’t find it annoying in any way because I just think he’s so special as a human,” said Corden. “That actually, you don’t have any of those feelings. There is someone who wants to embrace the world that they’re living in to the absolute best that he can. You never ever feel [annoyed].”

The Indiana Fever introduced Aliyah Boston, their first overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft, to the public and media on Monday, officially entering a new era for the franchise.

The Fever haven’t finished above .500 since 2015. They haven’t won double digit games since prior to the turn of the decade. That’s not to rub salt in the wound, rather to state the gravity of the moment as they welcome Boston in as the centerpiece of their rebuild.

Elation has surrounded every moment of the Fever’s draft process and eventual selection. Boston was all but a lock to be the first overall pick — provided she entered the draft, of course.

Head coach Christie Sides recalled a story from the college season in which she and assistant coach Jessie Miller flew to Columbia, South Carolina to meet with Boston and the Gamecocks’ coaching staff. The trip had been planned before there’d been buzz that Boston might use her COVID-19 waiver to return for another year at Carolina.

“There was a time there where she had us all in a little bit of a panic when we weren’t sure what she was gonna do,” said Sides to a laugh from Boston and all in attendance. “The whole time on my way out there, I was trying to figure out, what is my play here?”

Sides ruminated heavily on trying to strike the balance of eagerness to draft a franchise-altering player and the want to be genuine and meet on Boston’s level. She and Miller entered practice early, walking in on Boston coaching up her teammates before the first buzzer even rang out. Sides and Fever general manager Lin Dunn have repeatedly highlighted Boston’s intangibles as a a substantial reasoning for what makes her such a pivotal player and person, praising her communication on and off the court repeatedly.

After a quick hello, an exchange of pleasantries, and sitting down to watch practice, time flew by.

“Practice is over, she comes up from behind me, and so I walk up and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, ok, here we go, what is it?’ And I really just had this sense of, you know what, if she has an opportunity to stay and that’s what she wants to do [she should do that]. I just said ‘Aliyah, I really wanted to meet you and talk face to face for a second, but really I hope you’re not stressing yourself out too much, you need to do what you need to do for you and no one else.’ And I think she looked at me like I was absolutely crazy in that moment,” says Sides before flashing a grin.

They’ve talked about that conversation multiple times in the past few weeks. Sides wanted to show who she was as a person. If Boston went back for another year, was in the draft next season and the Fever had a chance to select her, Sides wanted her to feel excited about what that could be.

“That was just a great moment really early between us two when we first met,” says Sides.

As soon as Sides leaned back from the mic, Boston leaned forward, asking Fever PR if she could weigh in on what Sides had said.

She illuminated that shortly after that conversation, she called her mom reiterated what Sides had said and the genuineness within it.

“It just really stuck with me,” Boston said. “People can say, ‘Oh just come out. Why not? You know you have a lot more opportunity,’ even if staying in college could have been better for me for many different reasons. Her saying that, it made me feel that she really wanted the best for me in that space. Knowing that they had the first pick as well made me feel comfortable.”

The Fever are about to embark on a remarkably important season in their franchise history, one filled with hope, youth, and a commitment to the future.

Boston enters with a skill set that will allow her to impact winning at an incredibly high level on both ends. Sides is ecstatic about the versatility she brings, the way she can anchor their defense, and what her offensive game can look like at the pro level after years of seasoning at South Carolina.

The organization continues to make clear from top to bottom, they drafted a great player, and an even greater person, something they view as perhaps the most important angle in a holistic rejuvenation to competitiveness. They rave about her ability to galvanize teammates and be a leader, believing she can be not only a force with her play on the court but also in creating a positive culture in the locker room.

With Boston as the centerpiece of Indiana’s impending renaissance, setting the foundation with trust, mutual understanding, and a genuine approach is crucial to setting the tone in year one. Thus far, all indicators point to a great start from the Fever, and our view will be further painted as the season unfurls.

James Corden and Adele have flaunted their special friendship over the years. Earlier this week, they cried together during the final Carpool Karaoke segment. The singer even shared that her song “I Drink Wine” was inspired by a conversation she had with Corden following her divorce.

Corden appeared on The Howard Stern Show yesterday (April 26) and discussed their friendship. He explained they met in Cardiff before the album 19, Adele’s first, was a hit, and that his wife is friends with her childhood friends. Stern asked him what it was like watching her rise to stardom, and Corden said he wasn’t the least bit surprised.

“I couldn’t have been less shocked,” he said. “I couldn’t have been less shocked. That’s how I went up to her — I went up to her because she has the cover of [Bob Dylan’s] ‘Make You Feel My Love’ on that album and I’m always of the feeling of, ‘How can any cover version be better than the original because it couldn’t exist without the original.’ But I think that there’s a couple that come real, real close, like Amy Winehouse’s ‘Valerie,’ James Blake’s ‘A Case Of You,’ and Adele’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’ and it’s extraordinary.”

He continued, “What’s amazing with her is that there’s this seismic gap between the artist and her. Spend enough time with her personally, you can forget. And then she’ll just sing along to something and you’re like, ‘Oh my god.’ I think she is a generational talent. I couldn’t be less shocked.”
