Is There A New Drummer On Foo Fighters’ New Album?

Foo Fighters made their grand return today with a brand new song, “Rescued.” After teasing that something major was coming on social media days before, the band have also announced their next album, But Here We Are, will drop this summer.

Last year, the band and fans grappled with the loss of their beloved and talented drummer, Taylor Hawkins. While the news shocked the community, Foo Fighters shared last December that they had plans to return as a group. On top of already scheduling some concerts for this year, their new album will surely keep fans happy.

Some might be wondering, though, whether or not there’ll be a replacement drummer on But Here We Are.

The band’s press release and Spotify info have kept it quite secretive, listing the production credits as just Foo Fighters and Greg Kurstin. Because of this, there’s been some speculation as to whether Hawkins might posthumously have a role on the album, but only time will tell.

If there is a drummer replacement, which they would likely need for their upcoming live shows, the Ask A Music Critic column threw out Josh Freese and Rufus Taylor as potential options, given they performed at the Hawkins tribute concerts.

But Here We Are is out 6/2 via Roswell Records/RCA Records. Find more information here.

Woody Harrelson Confirms The ‘Veracity’ Of Matthew McConaughey’s Claim That They Might Be Actual Brothers

Last week, aspiring not-cult leader Matthew McConaughey dropped an interesting bombshell: There’s a pretty good chance that his longtime friend and co-star Woody Harrelson might be his actual brother.

As the story goes, McConaughey and Harrelson were vacationing in Greece a few years back when McConaughey’s mom revealed that she “knew” Harrelson’s father. The way she said “knew,” raised a few eyebrows, and it turns out that the math lines up where McConaughey’s mom and Harrelson’s dad were in West Texas during her second divorce from McConaughey’s father. The timeline also would’ve occurred nine months before McConaughey’s birth.

While McConaughey hasn’t been eager to pull too hard on that string, Harrelson stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night where he confirmed that the chance of them being brothers is very real.

“Well, I’ll just say there is some veracity to that thought” Harrelson said before confirming McConaughey’s tale from their Greek vacation. However, Harrelson took things a step further by revealing that he’s been pushing for a DNA test.

Via Variety:

“We want to go for a [DNA] test, but for him, it’s a much more big deal,” Harrelson said. “I mean he feels like he is losing a father. But I’m like, no, you’re gaining a different father and a brother.”

McConaughey actually addressed not wanting to poke too deep into his possible parentage, and why it’s more difficult for him.

“Look, it’s a little easier for Woody to say, ‘Come on, let’s do [DNA tests],’ because what’s the skin in it for him?” McConaughey said when he first revealed the possible brother situation. “It’s a little harder for me because he’s asking me to take a chance to go, ‘Wait a minute, you’re trying to tell me my dad may not be my dad after 53 years of believing that?’ I got a little more skin in the game.”

Ana de Armas Was Surprised With Her Own Flavor Of Ben And Jerry’s Ice Cream

Ana de Armas isn’t interested in having a celebrity liquor. But an ice cream flavor? Now we’re talking.

The Oscar-nominated actress and recent SNL host dropped by The Tonight Show on Tuesday to discuss Ghosted, her new movie with Chris Evans, and the selfie she took with Everything Everywhere All at Once star Ke Huy Quan at the Academy Awards. At the end of the interview, host Jimmy Fallon surprised de Armas, a self-professed fan of his The Tonight Dough ice cream, with a video call from Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, a.k.a. Ben and Jerry.

“We were so excited to hear that Ben and Jerry’s The Tonight Dough is your favorite ice cream,” Ben and/or Jerry said. “We love that you’re a fan and came up with something in our kitchen for a special one-day-only, one-time-only surprise,” Jerry and/or Ben added. Fallon presented de Armas with her own flavor of ice cream: Ana de ArMAS Leche. It’s a mix of caramel and chocolate ice creams with chocolate cookie swirls, chocolate chip cookie dough, peanut butter cookie dough, and sweetened condensed milk.

Unfortunately, Ana de ArMAS Leche isn’t available to the public, but if you add condensed milk to The Tonight Dough, you can replicate it at home. Or add the milk to Americone Dream instead, if you’re more of a Colbert person.

TiaCorine And Latto Announce The Release Date For Their ‘Freaky T’ Remix After Debuting It At Coacehlla

During her performance at Coachella this weekend, Latto brought out rising star TiaCorine to debut their remix to TiaCorine‘s breakout song, “Freaky T.” The song is the genre-bending North Carolina rapper’s most successful to date, generating well over 20 million combined streams across platforms. Today, she announced the official release date of the remix: this Friday, April 21.

The song is the latest remix in Latto’s growing catalog as she becomes one of the more sought-after feature artists in hip-hop today. Last month, she added a spark plug verse to viral sensation Lola Brooke’s breakout track “Don’t Play With It” after contributing another attention-grabbing appearance to Chicago rapper Mello Buckzz’s song “Boom, Pt. 2.” A preview clip of their video shoot for the song produced a viral moment in which Latto showed off her now-signature leopard-print Target panties.

And just before the end of 2022, Latto became one of the last artists to collaborate with southern rap legend Gangsta Boo, teaming up with yet another buzzy newcomer, GloRilla, for the bow-throwing anthem “FTCU.” She’s shown an ear for talent and a willingness to share her spotlight that bodes well for TiaCorine, who will get the perfect jumpstart for her own flourishing career when their collaboration drops on Friday.

Tyler The Creator Bought A Luxurious Bel Air Estate For $13 Million, Months After Selling His Old House

Tyler The Creator has reportedly purchased a sprawling new home in Bel Air for $13 million. According to Dirt, the property was originally created in the ’70s, before being completely rebuilt from scratch last year. As for statistics, his property has four bedrooms and six bathrooms across 5,000 square feet.

There are also “custom Brazilian wood floors finished in white oak, high ceilings and steel-case windows throughout.” Not to mention, the windows throughout the home give Tyler some serious views of the city and the ocean. And, if the rapper wants to have fun, this place is perfect for it, with a “smart-home system, state-of-the-art movie theater, and step-up cigar lounge,” according to the publication.

He also now has a master bedroom with dual walk-in closets and baths. Additionally, there’s a private backyard with a pool, fire pit, sauna, bar, barbecue, and a four car garage to keep his purchases in. (There is even additional parking for more vehicles if he wants.)

Last December, Tyler had sold his former house for $7 million to a New York couple, which was also located in Bel Air. He had originally purchased it for $7.9, leaving just under a year later.

What Day Does ‘Bel-Air’ Come On?

While the real Will Smith is still working to rehab his Hollywood image following his hand connecting with Chris Rock’s face — a.k.a. the slap heard ‘round the world — at the 2022 Oscars, the fake Will Smith (Jabari Banks) is still living with fictional auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.

Following on the heels of Cobra Kai and other small-screen nostalgia plays, Bel-Air — a reimagined and definitely darker and more dramatic version of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the goofy sitcom that helped turn (the real) Smith into a Hollywood powerhouse — premiered in 2022 to generally positive reviews. Yes, even without a Carlton Dance to lean back on whenever the storylines seemed sluggish. Of course, it didn’t take long for Peacock to order a second season of the series, which is executive produced by Smith himself. Bel-Air season 2 made its triumphant return on February 23, 2023, when the first three of the season’s 10 episodes dropped.

If you haven’t given the gritty reboot a chance yet, you can stream all of season 1 on Peacock now. Since the first season, too, consists of just 10 hour-long episodes, that should give you plenty of time to catch up to the show’s existing fan base, who are turning into Peacock each week to watch new episodes once they drop Thursdays at 5:01 am EST/ 2:01 am PST.

Latto’s ‘Big Energy’ Was Originally Written For Cardi B

Latto’s “Genius Of Love”-sampling 2021 single “Big Energy” has been her biggest hit to date. As it turns out, though, the song almost went to another artist, Cardi B. However, according to songwriter Theron Thomas, when the opportunity to put it into Latto’s capable hands arose, the original plans for the song changed quickly.

As a guest on the podcast See, The Thing Is… Thomas recounted how “Big Energy” wound up delivering a smash for Latto instead of Cardi B, its intended recipient. “We went to Hawaii, I wrote it to that beat, and met Latto, and she was like, ‘Yeah man, you know, I want to do some crossover sh*t,’” he recalled.

“When I meet an artist and they tell me they want to do something, it’s like, okay cool. Cardi never got to hear it. We didn’t get it to her.”

After premiering the song at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards, Latto officially released it in September 2021. As it rose on the Billboard charts over the next six months, she was able to tap Mariah Carey, whose 1995 hit “Fantasy” also sampled “Genius Of Love” by Tom Tom Club, to appear on the remix. The song peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100 and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Melodic Rap Performance.

It was also the basis of Latto’s feud with Nicki Minaj after Nicki argued that “Big Energy” should be nominated for a pop award instead. Nicki’s own song, “Super Freaky Girl,” was shortlisted as a pop song, and she compared the two songs on Twitter. Latto responded, “Damn I can’t win for losing… all these awards/noms I can’t even celebrate,” leading to open hostilities between the two rappers that apparently even continued into a new song Latto debuted at Coachella. Just imagine if the song had gone to Cardi; that feud might have been even worse than it is already.
