North West Gave A Very Kanye Answer When Katy Perry Asked What She Wants To Be When She Grows Up

North West has more going for her than most 9-year-olds do. Parents Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are both driven high-achievers in their respective fields, and North clearly inherited her dad’s artistic skills, as she showed with an Ice Spice drawing she shared earlier this year. She seems to have also inherited his confidence, as evidenced by a recent interaction she and Katy Perry shared.

Perry recently invited North on stage during a show at her ongoing PLAY residency in Las Vegas. Perry told North she’s a fan of her TikTok account and invited her to dance for the audience. North wanted to get her pals involved, asking Perry, “Can my friends come out with me?” North’s friends joined her on stage and Perry continued, “You’re 9 years old, that’s so cool. You know, at 9 years old, I started singing. That’s when I found my little spark. What do you want to be when you grow up?” After a brief pause, North responded simply and self-assuredly, “Everything,” which got some cheers from the crowd.

Somebody who’s not a fan of North’s TikTok is Kanye. In a video that resurfaced recently, Kanye vented about how he doesn’t want North to get “used” by the platform.

Maxo Decries The ‘Face Of Stone’ Portrayed By A Fake Friend For ‘UPROXX Sessions’

Los Angeles underground rapper Maxo makes his UPROXX Sessions debut with a performance of his song “Face Of Stone,” which appears on his February album Even God Has A Sense of Humor.

The song, produced by Detroit beatmaker Karreim Riggins, finds Maxo reflecting on the emotional damage that often lies behind the stoic “faces of stone” of his peers and the dissolution of a friendship he can see through the change in demeanor from warm to cold. “I see the stone in your stare, you often escaping your feelings,” he rhymes. “Lost, claiming you healing / Often you bitin’ your fingers, tossin’ at night when you sleepin’ / Why ain’t you speaking what your heart think?”

Maxo — who is not to be confused with the similarly-named Maxo Kream — has released two albums through Def Jam. The first, Lil Big Man, dropped in 2019. While the low-key rapper hasn’t yet risen to the heights of collaborators like Earl Sweatshirt and Navy Blue, he’s begun to distinguish himself as a distinctive voice in the rap world that fans should definitely pay attention to.

Watch Maxo’s UPROXX Sessions performance of “Face Of Stone” above.

UPROXX Sessions is Uproxx’s performance show featuring the hottest up-and-coming acts you should keep an eye on. Featuring creative direction from LA promotion collective, Ham On Everything, and taking place on our “bathroom” set designed and painted by Julian Gross, UPROXX Sessions is a showcase of some of our favorite performers, who just might soon be yours, too.

Florida police officers rescue 3-year-old from a submerged car. The video is heart-stopping.

As a parent, there are many things you fear when it comes to your children. Typically, one of those fears is being helpless when your child is in a life-threatening situation. In Miami, a father found himself in this very situation. The man was driving when he was involved in a car crash that landed him and his 3-year-old son in a canal.

The driver of the car and several good samaritans repeatedly attempted to get the child out of the car, which was mostly underwater, but they were unsuccessful. By the time the police arrived on the scene, the car was nearly fully submerged with the child still strapped in his carseat inside. The officers on the scene knew they had to act fast since the child at this point had been underwater for quite some time.

Several of the officers were fathers and felt immense pressure to get the child out while also trying to reign in their emotions. “Somebody had to make the choice to get in, and I just acted,” Officer Emmanuel Walton III explained in the video.

The car was located under a bridge in murky water so it was difficult for rescuers to see the little boy. Officer Walton explained that he had to search by feel until he could find the boy’s car seat. Once the seat was located, Walton yanked on it in an effort to free the child.

“I pulled it as hard as I could, because I couldn’t figure out where the seatbelt was … luckily it broke off,” Walton said in a press conference.

After Watson broke the car seat free, the child floated to the surface, which gave the officer the opportunity to grab him and pass him to officers waiting on the embankment. But the embankment was so steep that they had to get the unconscious boy to a flat area to perform CPR. The sweet sound everyone was waiting for happened after the boy received chest compressions.

“When the baby started crying, I started crying too, because it was the best cry I’ve ever heard in my life,” Officer Junior Clervil said.

The entire rescue was caught on body cam footage. Watch the heart-stopping video below:

A guy may have met his ‘dream girl’ at a bar but she only gave him part of her phone number

A woman named Jackie pulled a move straight out of a romantic comedy recently, and it has the internet rallying around her potential love interest. Jackie met a guy at a bar and liked him so much that she gave him her phone number. Well, 80% of her number, that is.

The world heard about it on January 17 when Twitter user Henpecked Hal shared a picture of the napkin with her partial phone number written on it. “My 22-year-old cousin met his dream girl at a bar and it’s going pretty well,” Hal wrote in the tweet.

“Call me! 512-3*1-2*04,” the message read, along with “I’m worth it.” The 512 is an area code in Austin, Texas.

After congratulating his cousin on meeting his “dream girl,” he asked: “Did you get her number.” The cousin replied, “most of it.” The Tweet also attached a photo of a list of phone numbers the cousin called to try and get in touch with the elusive Jackie.

The tweet has gone insanely viral, racking up nearly 60,000 retweets, 85.6 million views and 776,000 likes.

The next day, Hal revealed that the woman reached out to him. In the screenshot of her message, she wrote: “Heeeyyy, so you likely won’t see this but I’m Jackie from the tweet!”

“Tell your cousin that next time I see him I’m going to…” she continued, but Hal blurred out the rest of the message to conceal her identity.

“I just talked to him! WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER????” Hal replied. “He said he’s halfway through the list, which means he’s actually like 10 per cent of the way through it.”

“He may not be as clever as he thinks,” Jackie responded, “give me HIS number, I’m taking over this operation.”

A lot of people in the comments said they thought Jackie was cold or arrogant for playing hard to get and making poor Hal’s cousin try 100 different numbers to find out which one was her. But Hal says that it’s all an extension of the conversation the two had at the bar.

“For the people saying she’s arrogant, high maintenance or whatever: these kids talked for an hour about a shared interest in true crime, mysteries, etc,” Hal tweeted. “My cousin bragged that he always solves the case before the show ends (editor’s note: not this time). I think she’s awesome.”

So, all Jackie did was give him another mystery to solve. If he’s such a great amateur detective then he should be able to reach her, right?

Some people in the comments have suggested that the story is fake. One person noted that the notebook page with the phone numbers on it had an indentation at the top which could be the “5” in Jackie’s phone number from the napkin. The implication is that Hal wrote on the napkin while it was on top of the notebook, leaving an indentation. But other people pointed out that the writing didn’t match.

Through everything, Hal has received a ton of support from people on Twitter trying to help his cousin’s love life.

“The programmers who sent scripts and code, the excel junkies who sent me docs to share with my cousin, y’all are wild,” Hal tweeted. “I couldn’t come close to getting back to everyone, but I appreciate it.”

Nearly 90 million people have followed the story of Hal’s cousin and Jackie. Let’s hope there’s a happy ending or at least they get to meet up and see each other again to talk about the mystery that brought them both together.

Nic Cage Believes That We Can Solve World Hunger With One Simple But Unsettling Idea

It’s a well-known fact that Nic Cage is a bit of a weird man who has a very positive relationship with animals and wildlife. Some examples: he has done shrooms with his cat, briefly owned a two-headed snake (which did not go well), and frequently gets into fights with his pet crow. But while he loves furry friends, he does not have any reservations about chowing down on some tiny critters, which he actively encourages and thinks could be the key to ending world hunger.

Cage and Reinfield co-star Nicholas Hoult recently discussed the tough part about being an actor: eating bugs. Of course, the bugs are all flavored and all that, so they actually taste pretty good. Allegedly. “The best thing we ate were the crickets,” said Hoult told Entertainment Weekly in a new interview.

Eating bugs sounds gross. And it is! But the bugs were flavored, which made it less gross, in theory. “The crickets were like smoky bacon flavor and salt and vinegar. I love salt and vinegar, so I was happy about eating the crickets,” Hoult explained, adding the gross details, “You would occasionally get little bits stuck in your teeth…Also, the worms were just gummy worms in crushed-up Oreos to make it look like dirt.” It seems that Hollywood has finally discovered the incomparable allure of the childhood staple Dirt Pudding.

Even though the prospect of eating bugs is a little gross to many, if not all of us, on Earth, Cage thinks that it can actually solve world hunger. “If we could get over our phobia of eating insects you could solve world starvation,” the actor explained. “It’s high protein, no fat, extreme nutrients, and they’re just abundant, they’re everywhere. But, no, we’re not going to do that!” Are any of us ready to listen to the man who only recently learned how to cook a potato?

Still, Cage says that the world isn’t ready for insect buffets quite yet. And even though he supports it, Cage is done eating insects, no matter how nutritionally valuable they are. “I’ve learned to move on from that,” he explained later on. In fact, Cage insists that he would never eat bugs again after the infamous Vampire’s Kiss scene. I’ll never do that again,” told Yahoo! Entertainment. “I’m sorry I did it at all.”

So he’s both a hypocrite and an innovative thinker when it comes to eating bugs. Maybe he should put his money (bugs) where his mouth is (and eat them). Then we can all follow suit.

It Sure Looks Like Latto Photoshopped A Coachella Crowd Photo, But She Has An Explanation

Just days after Latto performed at Coachella over the weekend, a photo that she posted of the crowd has made the rounds online — after many believed it was Photoshopped. While it’s unclear what the reason for this might have been, social media users pointed out that there were duplicates of the audience members.

People also chimed in with some jokes. “That’s me and my twin brother enjoying our time with friends,” one person replied, pointing at the fact it was the exact same person. “Literally cropped out the extended pixels and it still looks like a crowd to me. Just weird they decided to do that,” another wrote.

However, some Latto fans weren’t having it, questioning the point when her Coachella crowd was full.

Shortly after the viral picture spread, Latto has responded, saying she didn’t Photoshop it at all.

“Never photoshopped a crowd lmao I expanded it so it would fit in my Instagram swipe without getting cut off but it was clearly f*cked up so I didn’t end up using it & just posted the wrong version by accident on Twitter babes,” she shared to her Instagram story.

Check out Latto’s crowd pics above to decide for yourself. Below, find some more social media reactions.

Fox News Is Actually Citing ‘The Simpsons’ Clips In Its Defense Strategy Against Dominion’s Billion Dollar Lawsuit

There has been some speculation that Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News for spreading misinformation about their voting machines could bring an end to The Simpsons. It’s unlikely, but Moe getting a cell phone seemed improbable at one point, too. The longest-running scripted series in American TV history did, however, come up during the trial.

NBC News reports that “Fox’s lengthy list of trial exhibits includes four clips from The Simpsons, a cornerstone of the Fox broadcasting network’s prime-time lineup for more than 30 years.” (Tomorrow is actually the 36th anniversary of the first Simpsons short on The Tracey Ullman Show. What a birthday present.) The quartet of clips, which come from the show itself as well as online exclusives, all involve Homer voting.

— Season 20’s “Treehouse of Horror XIX” shows him attempting to cast a ballot for Barack Obama.

— The promotional short “Homer Votes 2012” shows him voting for Mitt Romney.

— The YouTube short “Homer Votes 2016” features Russian President Vladimir Putin disguising himself as an American voter to convince Homer to vote for Trump.

— Season 32’s “Treehouse of Horror XXXI” finds Homer unsure whether to vote for Trump or Biden.

Fox’s high-priced attorneys have argued in front of every judge in the country, often as lawyers!

Here are the clips in question:

The Simpsons being used as evidence in a billion-dollar lawsuit involving a conservative media company” is one prediction no one saw coming.

Lauren Boebert’s Bud Light Self-Own Is As Mind-Boggling As When She Confused Samuel And John Adams

For a former owner of a bar and grill (no RIP has yet surfaced for Shooter’s Grill’s pork sliders), Lauren Boebert sure does trip up on the subject of beer. The last time that this happened, Boebert credited a quote by John Adams (the 2nd U.S. president) to Samuel Adams (a founding father, yes, but more commonly referred to as a beloved brewery’s namesake). She has also, on a similar note, botched pronouns while shading trans rights.

Now, the lawmaker from Colorado has combined both rootin’ tootin’ pastimes to step into the same anger-bear shoes that Kid Rock wore while shooting up Bud Light cans out of protest for the brand’s campaign starring trans activist Dylan Mulvaney. Boebert is keeping the MAGA-themed fury alive, but she strangely chose to do so with this mocked-up graphic of fallen U.S. Army Specialist-Turned-Corporal (and former NFL player) Pat Tillman on a beer can. Boebert also tweeted, “Hey Bud Light, here’s the one America wanted!”

Boebert does not appear to look at her replies because this tweet still exists. However, one user swiftly tweeted a quote from the 2017 The Athletic-relayed anecdote from Tillman’s college coach, Lyle Setencich:

“‘Hey coach, you ever coach any gay guys?’ That’s what Pat said to me. I said. ‘I have.’ Pat said, ‘What do you think about gay players?’ This was in the middle of the 1990s. I said, ‘I’ don’t know all the issues but if they can play football I love them,’” Setencich recalled. “‘Good,’ said Pat. “Good.’”

As well, the Pat Tillman Foundation’s website has pointedly celebrated Pride Month, and this doesn’t even touch how Tillman was killed by friendly fire while on tour in Afghanistan. Let’s just say that there are lots of layers here, and Boebert appears to be unaware of them, and people let her know this.

Is this all Boebert “performance art”? An interesting thought.

The Weeknd’s New Music For ‘The Idol’ Was Inspired By Pink Floyd And Prince, He Explained

The Weeknd is gearing up for the premiere of his upcoming HBO series The Idol, which he co-created alongside Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson. Over the past few weeks, the “Blinding Lights” singer has been teasing new music for the series.

He previewed some new music via Instagram Live, which sounded rather dark and ominous.

In a recent interview with Interview, The Weeknd revealed that he has produced an entire album to accompany the show. He also shared that he had been listening to iconic albums by Pink Floyd and Prince for inspiration.

“I’ve been inspired by The Wall and Purple Rain,” said The Weeknd.” “But even films like Shaft, the music is literally telling the story of the film. But I want to take it to the next level. I want to challenge myself and I feel like, as a musician, I’m the best I’ve ever been. But I have ADD. I can’t focus on just that. It’s like, how do I throw a wrench in it?”

Elsewhere in the interview, The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, revealed that his character, Tedros, who is a cult leader, is someone who appeals to him, but he insists he is nothing like him.

“I wrote him,” he said, “but what drew me to play him was just getting to pretend to be someone else. It was a challenge, because The Weeknd, obviously, isn’t me. But I drew a lot from myself to create that character. Tedros is nothing like me.”

The Idol premieres 6/4 on HBO and will be available for streaming on Max.
