So It Looks Like Kylie Jenner And Timothee Chalamet Might Be Dating!

Of all of the potential celebrity pairings, we did not have this budding Hollywood romance on our 2023 Bingo card. Then again, we also forgot the saying, “The devil works hard but Kris Jenner works harder.”

According to multiple outlets Kylie Jenner, 25, and actor Timothee Chalamet, 27, are casually dating. The popular celebrity gossip account DeuxMoi first sparked rumors of the potential match earlier this month with fans anonymously confirming the news, saying the pair have been hanging out and “getting to know each other” for the past few months. One tipster alleged that Chalamet attended Jenner’s winter getaway in Aspen. Another claimed they’ve been together since Paris Fashion Week, which took place in January of this year.

Last week, TMZ added credibility to the rumors, reporting that Jenner’s Range Rover was spotted at Chalamet’s Beverly Hills home on Thursday afternoon, supporting another fan theory that the two plan to attend Coachella together. This all comes after the pair were supposedly in attendance at a dinner with Jenner’s sister, Kendall, and her rumored boyfriend, rapper Bad Bunny.

Naturally, the news that sweet Little Timmy T might one day feature on an episode of The Kardashians has fans in their feels.

Jenner has been in an on-off relationship with rapper Travis Scott since 2017. The pair have two children together. Meanwhile, Chalamet has been linked most recently to Lily-Rose Depp, who he dated for over a year until the couple called it quits in 2020.

The Clippers Won’t Use The ‘Shortcut’ To The Phoenix Visitor’s Locker Room After Russell Westbrook’s Confrontation With A Fan

The Clippers 115-110 win over the Suns in Game 1 of their highly anticipated first round series was one of the highlights of the first weekend of games, and only built up the intrigue for the rest of the series.

Kawhi Leonard looked as good as we’ve ever seen him, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker were excellent for Phoenix, and Russell Westbrook did a bit of everything, good and bad, including a game-sealing block in the closing seconds. The stars were on display, but the game didn’t go without some controversy, as Westbrook got into it with a fan in a courtside club at halftime of the game.

When the video initially broke, there were a lot of questions as to why Westbrook was in there — had he tracked down the fan to confront him? — but it is apparently due to an odd layout in Phoenix’s Footprint Center, as Duane Rankin walked folks through after the game.

A shortcut to the visitor’s locker room through a courtside club where fans are all drinking seems like a poor choice, and it’s honestly a bit surprising it took until now for something like this to happen. Unsurprisingly, the Clippers’ response will be to no longer take the shortcut, as Tyronn Lue will be instructing his team to take the long way through the tunnel to get to the visitor’s locker room for the rest of the series.

That is probably a wise choice, and in the meantime, the league is apparently looking into the confrontation to determine what, if anything, needs to happen from their end, per Chris Haynes.

Hopefully this will be the only fan incident, and we can shift focus fully to the play on the court in what was a sensational opening game of the series.

Donald Trump All-Caps Screamed Some Very Bad Legal Advice At Fox News At 3am Ahead Of The Dominion Trial

There’s an age-old saying that one should never accept legal advice from a twice-impeached former president shouting into the void at 3 a.m. on his struggling social media platform. Unfortunately, Donald Trump has never heard it, which is why the chronically-online senior citizen from Palm Beach, Florida was up in the early hours of the morning on Monday issuing all-caps demands to Fox News head honcho Rupert Murdoch.

Currently, Murdoch and Fox are set to go to court with Dominion Voting Systems after pushing lies about the 2020 Presidential Election on their channels. Dominion is suing Fox for $1.3 billion in damages in a defamation case that could cripple the powerful right-wing network. Dominion’s discovery period already turned up evidence that proved top brass at Fox, as well as popular on-air correspondents, knew Trump’s claims that the election was rigged were not based in fact. But, instead of urging the corporation to settle outside of court — which would be the smart move for Fox — Trump has been screaming at Murdoch to double down on the voter fraud conspiracies to “weaken” the argument against the company and, you know, do him a solid.

“IF FOX WOULD FINALLY ADMIT THAT THERE WAS LARGE SCALE CHEATING & IRREGULARITIES IN THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, WHICH WOULD BE A GOOD THING FOR THEM, & FOR AMERICA, THE CASE AGAINST THEM, WHICH SHOULD NOT HAVE EXISTED AT ALL, WOULD BE GREATLY WEAKENED,” Trump posted on his Truth Social account around 2:39 a.m. Monday morning. “BACK UP THOSE PATRIOTS AT FOX INSTEAD OF THROWING THEM UNDER THE BUS.”

He followed up that sage bit of legal advice with another spontaneous outburst via keyboard later that afternoon.

“FOX NEWS IS IN BIG TROUBLE IF THEY DO NOT EXPOSE THE TRUTH ON CHEATING IN THE 2020 ELECTION. THEY SHOULD DO WHAT’S RIGHT FOR AMERICA. WHEN RUPERT MURDOCH SAYS THAT THERE WAS NO CHEATING IN LIGHT OF THE MASSIVE PROOF THAT WAS THERE, IT IS RIDICULOUS AND VERY HARMFUL TO THE FOX CASE. RUPERT, JUST TELL THE TRUTH AND GOOD THINGS WILL HAPPEN. THE ELECTION OF 2020 WAS RIGGED AND STOLLEN…YOU KNOW IT, & SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE!”

Ahhh yes, the incoherent shrieks of a man facing 34 felony counts of his own. This is why listening to your elders isn’t always a good idea, folks.

Drake’s New Kim Kardashian-Sampling Song ‘Search & Rescue’ Debuted At No. 2 On The Hot 100

Drake is no stranger to Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart and his newest song, the Kim Kardashian-sampling “Search & Rescue,” continues his tradition of chart dominance. However, he just missed out on the top spot this time around, as Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” took the No. 1 position, leaving Drake to settle for No. 2. The rest of the top 10 includes No. 3, Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” No. 4, SZA’s “Kill Bill” (this figures to change next week thanks to Doja Cat’s remix), and No. 5, Metro Boomin’s “Creepin.”

The remaining five songs in the top ten are Rema & Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down,” The Weeknd & Ariana Grande’s “Die For You,” PinkPantheress & Ice Spice’s “Boy’s A Liar, Pt. 2,” Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero,” and Eslabon Armando X Peso Pluma’s “Ella Baila Sola.”

Drake’s Billboard history is quite extensive; in November last year, he tied Jay-Z for most No. 1s on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart thanks to his collaboration with 21 Savage, Her Loss. That album was his 11th No. 1 on the Billboard 200 overall, while in August, Drake again passed The Beatles for a significant milestone, acquiring his 30th top five song with “Staying Alive” by DJ Khaled. He’s since put some distance between his high watermark and the next most-awarded artist, Madonna, who has 28.

When Drake first teased “Search & Rescue,” some fans interpreted it as a taunt aimed at Kanye West due to the sample of Kanye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian on the record. The sample, taken from Keeping Up With The Kardashians, specifically refers to the couple’s then-impending divorce. “I didn’t come this far just to come this far and not be happy,” she says in the clip. Drake’s dad Dennis Graham chimed in to deny that it was a shot across Kanye’s bow, and Kany has yet to respond.

The full Billboard charts for the week ending April 15, 2023 are out now on Billboard.com.

Turns Out HBO’s Adaptation Of ‘The Last Of Us’ Might Be Doing A Lot More Of… Us

Season one of The Last Of Us just wrapped up last month, but fans are already eagerly awaiting any sort of news regarding the internet’s second-favorite father-child duo led by Pedro Pascal. Everyone’s first favorite duo is actually still kickin’ around the galaxy over on Disney+.

Craig Mazin, the showrunner for the hit HBO series, recently spoke at NAB Las Vegas, where he confirmed that there is “quite a bit of story to tell” in the post-apocalyptic non-zombie wasteland, implying that they have enough content to span several seasons and give the viewers even more questions. Like, for instance, how did they manage to have Makena for sale at the abandoned American Girl Doll Store when she wasn’t introduced until 2012? These are the crucial plot points fans are looking for.

Even though a second season is confirmed, Mazin hints that there will be more than just one more batch of emotionally-draining episodes to come. “Our plan is to do it not just for one more season,” Mazin confirmed to the crowd. “We should be around for a while,” he said. “Should” is the operative word here, because who knows what HBO Max will look like in the coming years.

Details regarding season two have also been sparse, but Mazin said that the scripts are still being written and shooting is expected to take place in British Columbia, because everyone knows that fungi-infested humans can’t resist their Timbits.

Mazin isn’t the only one who is on board with more seasons, as Bella Ramsay (Ellie) has previously said that there is “no limit” to how many seasons she would sign on for, meaning we could see an elderly Ellie battling fungi dudes for possibly decades to come!

The Best Tequilas You Can Find For Under $30, Ranked

I won’t lie to you, finding a good bottle of tequila under $30 is tougher than I first suspected. The sweet spot for a great bottle of tequila hovers just under $50; if you want something that really impresses, you can get there for under $100. But if you’re on a budget or you’re entertaining guests and you need a lot of tequila for a small amount of money, well, you’re going to have to make some sacrifices on flavor and overall experience.

While a good bottle under $30 is hard to find, don’t worry, there are a few out there — so you won’t have to succumb to the super cheap stuff that’ll burn your guest’s palates and cause wincing or worse, retching (looking at you, Cuervo Gold). Really, it all comes down to how the agave is cooked. In short, there are three popular ways agave is cooked, the best brands go the traditional route, cooking the agave in stone or brick ovens, a lengthy process that takes around 36 hours and requires a resting period. Behind that you have autoclave cooking, a high-pressure (sometimes low) steam situation that can cook a higher yield of agave in less than half the time. And then you have the most efficient method, the diffuse — blasting agave with high-pressure hot water and sometimes hydrochloric acid to essentially chemically cook often unripened agave at an incredibly fast pace.

Which of the three methods sounds like it’ll produce the best tequila? If time is money, we’re willing to bet that flavor comes from time. That doesn’t necessarily mean all oven-cooked tequilas are good, or better than something made in an autoclave, but diffuser-made tequila rarely results in a very good bottle. So for this list, we’ve made sure to give you only diffuser-free suggestions.

Unfortunately, there aren’t enough of them out there for us to suggest 10 bottles, so we’re going to have to keep his list a bit on the lighter end — no compromising quality for entries, sorry! At least you’ll know that no matter where you land on this list (we suggest you buy whichever is on sale) you’re going to get a truly solid and Uproxx tested bottle of tequila.

Something shootable. Nice in a cocktail. Probably not for sipping, unless you’re in a pinch. Let’s dive in!

8. Milagro Reposado

Tequila Ranked
Total Wine

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $21.49

The Tequila:

You’ve no doubt seen bottles of Milagro at the bar or a friend’s bar cart and wondered to yourself: is that stuff any good? Well, yes! As great as the marketing and bottle design is, it doesn’t look like this brand spent all of the money on trying to trick you.

Hailing from NOM 1559, Tequila Milagro, this brand stone cooks its agave, utilizes roller mill extraction, and rests the produce in American white oak barrels for 2-4 months to reach the reposado state.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Agave and oak dominate, rich confection-like notes pull you in and a hint of cinnamon lurks underneath the layers.

Palate: Unfortunately that sweetness doesn’t completely translate to the flavor, you get the roasted agave flavor and an overpowering bit of oak, but there is an ethanol-like body that weighs the whole thing down.

Finish: It ends with a burn and a small vanilla lift with a hint of zesty citrus.

The Bottom Line:

Pleasant on the nose, a bit harsh on the palate, with a burning but generally pleasant close that’ll justify another shot or two. These issues tend to disappear in a cocktail.

7. Gran Centenario Reposado

Tequila Ranked
Total Wine

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $29.99

The Tequila:

In college, while smoking weed on a porch with a classmate, I was told that Gran Centenario was actually very expensive tequila but due to some importing issue (I can’t remember, I was high) vendors had to sell it for a much cheaper price than it was worth. I don’t know why this person told me that, but for years I had been parroting that information to friends and buying this bottle. I’m pretty sure it’s not true.

Gran Centenario is good, don’t get me wrong, but it costs what it’s worth and I’d probably only pick it up now if it was on sale. Produced at NOM 1112, the famed Casa Cuervo, this autoclave-cooked tequila is rested in new oak casks and aged for six months.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: You can really smell the wood on this one, it has a deep and rich aroma, and a strong and steady whiff will reveal chocolate and caramel under all the oak.

Palate: It hits the palate with an earthy bite and some cracked pepper notes before revealing sweeter vanilla and clove flavors. Still, a heavy alcohol taste muddies up the finer notes, but they’re there!

Finish: Cinnamon on the back end that is quickly interrupted by a dry and oaky finish.

The Bottom Line:

Don’t believe what stoned college friends tell you! Having said that, this is a good bottle of tequila that leans heavily on richer tones and woody flavors.

6. Lunazul Blanco

Tequila Ranked
Total Wine

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $18.99

The Tequila:

Lunazul is made from hand-harvested estate-grown Blue Weber agave from the red clay soil of Jalisco, cooked in an autoclave, fermented with proprietary yeast and twice distilled in copper coil stills at NOM 1513, Tierra De Agaves, home to just one other brand.

The result is a crystal clear blanco tequila in a beautiful thick glass bottle.

Tasting Notes:

Agave, pepper, alcohol, vanilla, pepper,

Nose:

Vanilla and roasted agave dominate the nose with an earthy dry vibe.

Palate:

It’s rare to get strong vegetal notes in a tequila this cheap, but there are here! This tequila has a noticeable fruity character mingling with vanilla notes and agave.

Finish:

That dry vibe latches onto the finish, there is a strong sense of pepper here and a sort of chemical mint aftertaste that lingers a little too long.

The Bottom Line:

Bright and biting, but in a harsh way. It’s fine in a cocktail, shooting it will burn your throat.

5. Espolòn Blanco

Tequila Ranked
Drizly

ABV:

Average Price: $29.89

The Tequila:

At this point, Espolòn is famous for being one of the best cheap bottles of tequila on the market. Believe the hype, there is a reason this is on every bar shelf and lands on numerous tasting lists, it’s no-nonsense tequila. It’s good, not great, but it knows what it is and doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not, so it gets extra points.

Produced at NOM 1440, Campari Mexico, home to just three brands, Espolòn relies on autoclave cooking and roller mill extraction.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Alcohol and juicy citrus. That’s it, it’s pretty flat on the nose.

Palate: The flavor delivers much more, a strong pineapple flavor comes to the forefront transitioning to dry pepper notes and some roasted agave. It’s trying to be vegetal and green, but the alcohol drowns it out.

Finish: Almost oily, like melted butter with a spicy pineapple finish.

The Bottom Line:

A versatile tequila, great for shooting and mixing. It punches above its weight and tastes even better on sale.

4. Mi Campo Reposado

Tequila Ranked
Total Wine

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $25.29

The Tequila:

This brand is fairly new to me, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised so far. When a brand has a flashy label like this, more often than not it feels like a lot of money went to great design and little else, but Mi Campo delivers.

Produced at NOM 1137, the famously crowded La Cofradia, Mi Campo utilizes blue Weber agave that is cooked in stone brick ovens, screw mill extracted, fermented among local citrus trees, and aged in oak wine casks.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Very sweet, dominated by sweet vanilla and rich deep cocoa notes.

Palate: Oak forward, there are some earthy pepper notes, but without bright citrus tones to balance it out, it comes across as a bit harsh, but there is a nice spicy kick to it that piques the curiosity and inspires repeat sips.

Finish: Oily on the finish with a nice vanilla kiss.

The Bottom Line:

You’re going to get a lot of different sensations here, it offers the sort of journey a more expensive bottle will give you, but it tastes very geared toward those who like their tequila to bite back. If you’re looking for something smooth, look elsewhere.

3. Olmeca Altos Plata

Tequila Ranked
Drizly

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $29.99

The Tequila:

Simple tequila. Olmeca Altos hails from NOM 1111, Pernod Richard Mexico, and is slow-cooked in brick ovens, crushed by a tahona roller mill, and fermented in copper pots. It’s simple, direct, and delicious. There is a reason we chose $30 as the price point for this article, and that’s to ensure we can include quality brands like this one.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Warm roasted agave, little else.

Palate: Citrusy, bright, vegetal, and biting. This tequila comes off as surprisingly natural.

Finish: Herbal before a hot alcohol burn fizzes on the palate. It’s juicy and mouthwatering, but hot on the finish.

The Bottom Line:

A very natural-tasting classic unaged tequila.

2. Corazón Blanco

Tequila Ranked
Total Wine

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $23.99

The Tequila:

Part of Corazón’s mid-tier Single Estate line, Corazón Blanco is, as the name would suggest, is made from single estate blue weber agave produced at NOM 1103. The agave is slow-cooked in stone and back ovens, roller mill extracted, and fermented open-air style in stainless steel tanks.

There is something very inviting about this clear unaged tequila and that glittering blue label.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Agave, citrus, and pineapple dance on the nose. The aroma is juicy and mouthwatering.

Palate: Jasmine and orange zest twirl into vegetal notes of green bell pepper and Anaheim chili. There is a mild spice here that is very unique to this brand.

Finish: The roasted agave lives on the finish mingling with orange citrus notes.

The Bottom Line:

A very bright and vegetal unaged tequila with a mild pepper spice to it.

1. Cimmaron Reposado

Tequila Ranked
Total Wine

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $28.99

The Tequila:

Cimmaron is overseen by famed Master Distiller Enrique Fonseca at HOM 1146, Tequileña, and is the only tequila on this list that is completely additive free. Using estate-grown blue weber agave, this tequila is slow-cooked in an autoclave, screw and roller mill extracted, fermented in stainless still tanks, double distilled, and rested in American white oak for three to six months.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Cinnamon, oak, and warm roasted agave with a subtle kiss of vanilla lingering.

Palate: Suspiciously good, roasted agave and cinnamon hit the palate initially before the oak notes appear. The woody notes mingle with caramel and brown sugar.

Finish: Vanilla and honey. Almost mouthwatering.

The Bottom Line:

Far and above the best bottle of tequila you’re going to drink for under $30. Not even all that close.

One Of The Top January 6th Organizers Has Apologized For Requesting Lewd Pics From Teenage Boys

A key organizer for Donald Trump‘s now infamous “Stop The Steal” rally that snowballed into the January 6 attacks has apologized after being accused of soliciting teenage boys for sexual photos. In a statement issued on Friday evening, Ali Alexander addressed the allegations, which he initially called “so gay” before admitting to flirting with boys whose age he failed to verify.

“I apologize for any inappropriate messages sent over the years,” Alexander wrote. “When I’ve flirted or others have flirted with me, I’ve flexed my credentials or dropped corny pick up lines. Other times, I’ve been careless and should’ve qualified those coming up to me’s (sic) identities during flirtatious banter at the start.”

At one point, Alexander was such a rising star in the MAGA world that Trump personally requested that he speak during the “Stop The Steal” rally. However, that request was squashed by Trump’s aides. According to The Daily Beast, Alexander’s proclivities have been rumored for years and his proximity to Milo Yiannopoulos didn’t help:

Rumors about Alexander’s alleged sexual behavior towards younger men have circulated in conservative online circles since at least 2015. But they reached a new level late last month after Milo Yiannopoulos —the controversial British provocateur and one-time Alexander ally—turned on Alexander after Alexander and Fuentes pushed him out of a potentially lucrative position in West’s nascent presidential campaign.

Alexander did not respond to requests for comment from The Daily Beast, but he did claim in his statement that some of the screenshots of his alleged messages were “edited” and that some accusations were “false.” He did not elaborate on which.

There Is ‘Significant Doubt’ Ja Morant Will Be Able To Play In Game 2 Of Grizzlies-Lakers

The Grizzlies led the Lakers at halftime of Game 1 of their first round series on Sunday, but as the Lakers clawed back into what became a back-and-forth game in the fourth quarter, Memphis saw its star point guard suffer a hand injury after a collision with Anthony Davis that sent him crashing to the court from above the rim.

Morant landed awkwardly on his already banged up right hand and ran off the floor to the locker room in pain. He would return to the bench with a wrap on his hand and X-rays came back negative, but he would not re-enter the game as the Lakers pulled away for a 16-point win. After the game, Morant said the pain was at a “10” and he was unable to use that hand to grab anything, saying his Game 2 status was “in jeopardy” but that he would try everything he could to play.

On Monday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski hinted further at the likelihood of Morant sitting out Game 2, saying there was “significant doubt” in Memphis of his availability for Wednesday’s game, but said that with another two days off before Game 3 on Saturday, the schedule did provide as much rest time as Morant and the Grizzlies could possibly get in the playoffs with only missing an additional game.

As Woj notes, the Grizzlies do have a very capable backup point guard in Tyus Jones. Still, without Morant they lose their dynamism on offense and the Lakers can shift their defensive focus to other areas of the floor — throughout Game 1, Jarred Vanderbilt shadowed Morant and pressed high to deny him the ball. Hopefully Morant is able to recover enough to not miss the majority of this series, but for the second straight postseason he finds himself on the shelf during a series with the Grizzlies having to try and battle without him.

Sun City Poms is a cheer squad for women over 55 and they’re not slowing down

Age is just a number if you ask some people. Once you pass all of the milestone birthdays, time just seems to zoom right on by. You still feel like you’re 32, but your birth year is saying you need to add a decade or two. But if you don’t feel old, are you actually old or is society trying to put you in an age-shaped box?

If you ask the ladies of Sun City Poms, a cheerleading squad in Arizona for women over 55 years old, age really is just a number. That’s right, these ladies, some of whom are well past retirement age, have a cheer squad and man, are they active. Not only do the ladies perform, but they also march, and their practices would be a lot for people half their age.

According to People, the seniors practice three times a week for three hours at a time. That’s pretty intense, but it doesn’t stop these women from sticking it out, even the ones who are in their 80s.

While people outside of Arizona may just now be hearing of the Sun City Poms, the cheer squad has actually been around since 1979. It started as a cheerleading squad for a women’s softball team called Sun City Saints, and eventually evolved from cheering at games to performing 50 shows a year at different events.

Mary Zirbel, 81, has been with the squad since she was around 58. According to People, she joined after she saw them marching in a local parade. The group is only for people who live in the Sun City retirement community, and the group currently has 30 members. They even have some trainees who are being put through a thorough recruitment process to make sure they can hang with the lively crew.

“They’re always kidding me about being an old lady but they tolerate me,” Ginger Price, now 90, told Today in 2018. “I mean, I could make a mistake or something and I can say, ‘Well what do you expect, I’m old,’ you know.”

The group even performs at local high schools, and there are times when the students scream so loud for them that they can’t hear the music.

“I did not think they could dance like that or they could carry people, they could do the splits. Like I thought they were going to do like simple hand movements but no, they like blew my whole mind away, and the whole school’s minds away,” Emily Essa, a high school student, explained to Today.

Sun City Poms seems to be in a league all on their own. Remember the trainees mentioned earlier? Well, they have to do a three-month class and learn two routines to see if they can keep up before they’re even allowed to join the group. While their members are currently ages 58 to 90, the ladies plan to keep going until they can’t physically do it anymore.

Peggy Parsons, 81, told People that she’s hoping to continue with the Poms until she’s at least 90, so they can all celebrate together, saying the goal of the group is, “We aspire to inspire before we expire.”

Math professor shows how adding and subtracting left to right is actually easier and faster

Math is weird.

On the one hand, it’s consistent—the solutions to basic math problems are the same in every country in the world. On the other hand, there are multiple strategies to get to those solutions, and it seems like people are still coming up with new ones (much to the chagrin of parents whose kids need help with homework using methods they’ve never learned).

Math professor Howie Hua shares math strategies that make math easier on social media, and his videos are fascinating. Hua, who teaches math to future elementary school teachers at Fresno State, demonstrates all kinds of mental math tricks that feel like magic when you try them.

For instance, Hua has two videos showing how easy and quick it is to add multidigit numbers left to right instead of right to left, and it’s genuinely mind-blowing.

Check out how he explains why adding left to right is “underrated.”

OK, seriously. That is way easier to do in your head. It’s basically putting the numbers into expanded form and adding them, which makes it easier to visualize.

Adding this way makes sense, but subtracting is a bit more complicated, right?

Wrong, apparently. Watch Hua work his math sorcery subtracting two and three-digit numbers.

@howie_hua

Did you know you can subtract left to right? #math #mathematics #mathtok #maths #teachersoftiktok #teacher #mathtricks #mathtrick

Holy moly. That’s faster than the right-to-left, borrow-from-the-next-column method, isn’t it? And again, so much easier to visualize what’s actually happening, though I don’t know if I could fully do this in my head like I could with the left-to-right addition.

Hua recently shared another cool subtraction trick for problems with minuends that have a lot of zeroes. (The minuend is the first number in a subtraction problem. Don’t be too impressed. I had to look it up.)

Check this out:

@howie_hua

An underrated subtraction strategy #math #mathematics #mathtok #maths #teachersoftiktok #teacher #mathtricks #mathtrick

So simple, so time-saving and so something I would never have figured out on my own.

These tips and tricks might come in handy for anyone, but they’re especially useful for kids who are having to do these kinds of math problems at school all the time. Even if they’re supposed to solve the problem with a different strategy, these methods can be a quick way to check their answers.

Anything that makes math easier, I say. You can watch Hua’s videos on TikTok, YouTube and Twitter.
