When Will ‘Air’ Be Available For Streaming?

Time was audiences waited six months, sometimes even a year after a theatrical debut for a new movie to wind up on home video. Not anymore. The pandemic has screwed up the industry’s release plans, with each studio or streamer having its own plans. But what of Air, a movie produced and distributed by Amazon. The basketball docudrama is their first wide release since 2019’s Late Night. It’s only playing in theaters right now, and Amazon can drop it on their service whenever they feel like it.

So when is Air hitting Amazon Prime?

There is no official answer just yet, but there’s an inkling of when it could happen. In a profile of the company’s movie wing from late February, Deadline got the skinny on the streamer’s plans. Back then, at least, they were eying a 45-day window from the movie’s April 5 release date. Do the math and that would mean Air could hit Prime on May 20.

That said, Deadline reported that that 45-day window “depends on how well it holds,” meaning that if it’s a smash box office hit — and Amazon feels like making some more scratch — they may extend that later.

So how did Air do opening weekend? Pretty well for a non-blockbuster. It opened third, after The Super Mario Bros. Movie and John Wick: Chapter 4 and ahead of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Scream VI. It even had a decent per-screen-average of $4,122. That’s not setting the box office ablaze, but it’s decent numbers for a movie about a shoe. And it’s doing much better than the previous (very good) Ben Affleck-Matt Damon picture.

Is Doja Cat’s Next Album Called ‘Hellmouth?’

Doja Cat is having a hard time keeping quiet about her new album. She’s also having a hard time telling the truth about it. First, she claimed it had rave influence, and then she said it was a lie and that it was actually R&B-leaning. Finally, she said it would be “predominantly rap,” and began teasing a title.

“DC4 has a title now,” the “Woman” singer tweeted on March 22. She then followed that up with another tweet: “#hellmouth.” Of course, fans proceeded to freak out and conclude that she was officially announced that as the album title, but it’s safe to say that you can never know with Doja.

Yesterday, April 9, she demonstrated her capriciousness once more with another frustrating tweet: “The whole album is no longer rap yall its rock/spoken word and the album title is not Hellmouth anymore.” A minute later, she tweeted, “Album is called Moist Holes.”

On April 8, she also took to Twitter to share a screenshot of audio files, apparently leaking upcoming song titles such as “Wet Vagina,” “Balut,” and “Agora Hills.” She continued to confuse fans about what genre she’ll be tackling with the next LP by writing in a tweet, “No more pop.”

2023 WNBA Draft Results: Aliyah Boston Goes No. 1 To The Indiana Fever

The long wait for the 2023 WNBA Draft has finally ended, and after a thrilling end to the women’s college basketball season, there was plenty of attention on this year’s draft.

The Indiana Fever held the top pick and for the first time in some time, there was real hope for bringing in a timeline-altering player to the franchise that has missed the playoffs each of the past six seasons. Ever since Tamika Catchings’ departure, the Fever have been seeking a cornerstone player and this year might just finally land one in South Carolina star big Aliyah Boston, who was a 3-time unanimous All-American selection while playing for Dawn Staley.

While Boston was a stone-cold lock to go No. 1 to Indiana, the rest of the draft had some discrepancies as to who would go where in the mock draft landscape. Given the propensity for teams making surprising selections and shaking things up in the first round, fans were eagerly waiting to find out what prospects might slip and who might make a surprising leap.

Here are the complete results of the first round, headlined by Boston going to Indiana and the Wings trading in to make four (!) selections.

1. Indiana Fever — Aliyah Boston (South Carolina)
2. Minnesota Lynx — Diamond Miller (Maryland)

4. Dallas Wings (trade via Washington Mystics) — Stephanie Soares (Iowa State)

Don Lemon Was Caught On A Hot Mic Appearing To Diss Jon Stewart For Getting ‘A Lot Of Leeway’ As A Comic

Don Lemon’s been having a rough time lately, what with his controversial comment about GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley not being “in her prime.” Even Michelle Yeoh gave him crap for that one. This probably won’t help: On Monday, the CNN co-host was caught on a hot mic appearing to diss Jon Stewart.

As per The Daily Beast, CNN This Morning ran a segment on the Daily Show alum’s latest viral sensation, in which he called out the Defense department for having a ginormous budget that still somehow lets soldiers go cash-strapped, which he declared “f*cking corruption.”

After the clip aired, but before they cut back to Lemon and company, Lemon’s voice could be heard, saying something about how Stewart “gets a lot of leeway with the comedian thing, though.”

When they cut back, perhaps realizing his off-air discussion had made it onto the soundwaves, Lemon seemingly tried to reverse course, saying, “We were just discussing that Jon Stewart is so much more than a comedian. He is a thought leader.”

Not long after he kept trying to save face. “Yeah, when I was saying comedian and television host, he’s so much more than that,” Lemon told co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins. “I don’t even know if you need to qualify Jon Stewart as that. But good interview there.”

Stewart laid low for the first handful of years after leaving The Daily Show in 2015, returning with Apple TV+’s The Problem with Jon Stewart, which finds him routinely taking the powerful to task with exchanges that go viral.

Metro Boomin’s Woozy ‘Too Many Nights’ Video With Future Is Spotlighted By Don Toliver’s Quirky Dance Moves

As the youth say, Metro Boomin is outside. Not only is hit producer outside, he’s bringing his superstar friends Future and Don Toliver with him. The hip hop heavyweights linked up for the woozy yet epic music video for their collaborative song “Too Many Nights” off Metro Boomin’s latest album Heroes & Villains.

Co-directed by Boomin, Hidji World and Zac Facts the musicians show that if they’re going to work hard then they have to party equally as hard. In the late night into the wee hours of the morning shenanigans, the trio hop from a neon dancefloor, strip club, to the studio and more. Don Toliver keeps each location live showing off killer dance moves.

When asked by collaborating with the rapper, Boomin told GQ, “I told [Don Toliver], ‘Like 2001, you’ve got the Nate Dogg role.” The late singer Nate Dogg was famously know for delivering the perfect balance as a guest feature.

Later Boomin was sure to add, “You can still make great songs with them, but as a producer, it’s like, what are you bringing? You’ve got to break artists, you’ve got to bring new artists. That’s a big part of your duty.”

Fellow fashionable rapper A$AP Rocky makes a guest appearance in the visual. Another made an appearance in thoughts, Young Thug, as he is currented incarcerated. As the video closes, the group hold up t-shirt featuring the rapper’s picture with the word “FREE.”

Dan Crenshaw’s Attempt To Boycott Bud Light For Going ‘Woke’ Wound Up Backfiring Spectacularly

Give Dan Crenshaw some credit: He won’t roll with the MAGA trolls flooding Congress, and he’s for the fact that Joe Biden beat Donald Trump. That doesn’t mean he can’t still get into a far right tizzy every now and then. As per The Daily Beast, the Texas representative tried to boycott Bud Light because they dared embrace a progressive practice. But the attempt wound up backfiring spectacularly.

Why was Crenshaw mad at beer? Because Anheuser-Busch, which owns the popular light lager, dared partner with trans TikTok influencer Dylan Mulvaney. And he wasn’t having it.

“Just saw Bud Light’s stupid ad campaign,” Crenshaw said in an Instagram video, not specifically getting into an anti-trans panic. “So guess what we’re going to do? We’re going to throw out every single Bud Light we have in the fridge.” When he opened the fridge, there was plenty of beer cans, but none of them were Bud Light.

“Alright, well I guess that was easy,” he joked.

Thing is, the fridge was packed with Karbach, a Texas-based craft brewery that, as Houston Chronicle pointed out, is owned by Anheuser-Busch. Whoops! So much for that boycott.

It’s far from the first time Crenshaw has embarrassed himself while trying to appear cool. Who could forget his ridiculous action movie-style video in which he beat up BLM?

Taylor Swift‘s The Eras Tour is no casual affair. When the “Love Story” singer performed in Glendale, Arizona, the city temporarily changed its name to Swift City. George Santos Claims He Has DNA Proof That He Has Jewish Heritage, But He Says He Can’t Share It Just Yet

George Santos hasn’t made too many waves in the last couple months, not like he did late last year and early 2023, when a day wouldn’t go by without some new, wackadoodle tall tale he told being made public. (Last we heard from him he was getting mocked by Jordan Klepper to his face.) But don’t worry, he’s still got it.

As per The Daily Beast, the Jewish news outlet The Forward has a report on the Yiddish-language publication Moment Magazine, in which two reporters dropped in on New York representative’s office and scored a sit-down. They did so covertly, not telling Santos that they were reporters, assuming (probably rightly) that he wouldn’t talk to them if he knew.

During their chat, one subject inevitably came up: Santos’ bizarre claim that he was Jewish, which he later downgraded to “Jew-ish.” Santos still claims at least partial Jewish ancestry, and he has proof, sort of: He took four separate DNA tests to prove he wasn’t entirely lying. He didn’t have proof, claiming he was “just waiting for their returns.”

Despite that, Santos did reveal to the reporters the exact percentage of Jewish ancestry in his blood. He just asked them not to make it public.

Among the many, many, many half-truths, fabrications, and outright lies Santos was caught telling during his congressional campaign — all of them only discovered after he’d been elected — among the strangest was that he was telling donors that he was a “Latino Jew” and “halachically Jewish.” He also claimed that his maternal grandparents had fled anti-Jewish persecution first in Ukraine and then in Belgium. The Forward was the magazine that debunked that one, using genealogy sites to show that both grandparents were born in Brazil.

So we’ll have to wait and see if Santos can scientifically prove he’s a member of the tribe, if he ever actually makes public the results. And yet this line still has nothing on Santos falsely claiming his mother died on 9/11.
