Fred Again.. Performed An Impressive NPR Tiny Desk Concert, Putting His Multi-Hyphenated Skills On Full Display

Fred Again.. had a big year in 2022 with his release of the album Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9 2022). But the momentum hasn’t stopped. He’s on Skrillex’s new album, and joined him for a special pop-up show at New York’s legendary Madison Square Garden. Today (April 10), he took his talent to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert.

The performance is intimate and impressive, serving as a recap of last year’s record. He plays “Kyle (I Found You),” “Roze (Forgive),” “Adam (Interlude),” “Me (Heavy),” “Berwyn (Interlude), ” “Delilah (Pull Me Out Of This),” and “Faisal (Envelops Me).”

Last year, he discussed what it was like making music with Ed Sheeran. “We were very sort of twins from the beginning,” he said. “We have a very similar tastes and upbringing in music. So, it was very natural and effortless. And we both like to write quickly. And the thing I would say mostly from… it’s similar to Burna Boy, actually. And it’s the instincts thing. He’s just instinct, instinct, instinct, instinct. Every time he’s writing, it’s just like, ‘Go, go, go, go, work it out later.’ And sometimes there’ll be a little tweak you make later, but fundamentally, the thing is born from instinct, and then you can fine-tune the thing beyond that.”

The Showrunner Of ‘Succession’ Was ‘Very Nervous’ To Tell Brian Cox About You Know What

Warning: There be spoilers for Succession Season 4 Episode 3, which had a big, shocking thing happen.

Over four seasons of Succession, Brian Cox has gone from respected character actor — he was the original screen incarnation of Hannibal Lecter, in 1986’s Manhunter, to name one illustrious credit — to a household name. Since then he’s cut a fearsome figure. Not only is he terrifying as tyrannical one-man business empire Logan Roy, but he’s not above speaking his mind, including about his colleagues’ acting approaches.

So if you’re Jesse Armstrong, Succession’s creator and showrunner, and you have to inform Cox that his character’s going to eat it, you’d probably be a little on edge. In a behind-the-episode featurette on HBO Max, Armstrong talks about what that was like.

“I was very nervous to tell him ’cause there’s lots of anxieties about whether it’s the right creative decision, and there’s anxieties that someone who I love working with and who’s been at the center of the show will feel rejected on a human level for not being in it anymore when he’s been so central to the whole thing,” Armstrong revealed.

But he had nothing to worry about, and Cox “took it like a total pro,” Armstrong said. “He was professional and decent and kind enough to make it a pretty good meeting but a sad and significant one.”

Cox repaid the compliment. “When you work with the genius of somebody like Jesse, it’s always sad when that comes to an end, there’s no question about it, because you’ve had such great respect,” he says in the featurette.

In short, Brian Cox in real life isn’t as terrifying as Logan Roy. Even if you do some variation on Method acting on set, the worst he’s going to do is complain about you to journalists.

When Will ‘Air’ Be Available For Streaming?

Time was audiences waited six months, sometimes even a year after a theatrical debut for a new movie to wind up on home video. Not anymore. The pandemic has screwed up the industry’s release plans, with each studio or streamer having its own plans. But what of Air, a movie produced and distributed by Amazon. The basketball docudrama is their first wide release since 2019’s Late Night. It’s only playing in theaters right now, and Amazon can drop it on their service whenever they feel like it.

So when is Air hitting Amazon Prime?

There is no official answer just yet, but there’s an inkling of when it could happen. In a profile of the company’s movie wing from late February, Deadline got the skinny on the streamer’s plans. Back then, at least, they were eying a 45-day window from the movie’s April 5 release date. Do the math and that would mean Air could hit Prime on May 20.

That said, Deadline reported that that 45-day window “depends on how well it holds,” meaning that if it’s a smash box office hit — and Amazon feels like making some more scratch — they may extend that later.

So how did Air do opening weekend? Pretty well for a non-blockbuster. It opened third, after The Super Mario Bros. Movie and John Wick: Chapter 4 and ahead of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Scream VI. It even had a decent per-screen-average of $4,122. That’s not setting the box office ablaze, but it’s decent numbers for a movie about a shoe. And it’s doing much better than the previous (very good) Ben Affleck-Matt Damon picture.

Is Doja Cat’s Next Album Called ‘Hellmouth?’

Doja Cat is having a hard time keeping quiet about her new album. She’s also having a hard time telling the truth about it. First, she claimed it had rave influence, and then she said it was a lie and that it was actually R&B-leaning. Finally, she said it would be “predominantly rap,” and began teasing a title.

“DC4 has a title now,” the “Woman” singer tweeted on March 22. She then followed that up with another tweet: “#hellmouth.” Of course, fans proceeded to freak out and conclude that she was officially announced that as the album title, but it’s safe to say that you can never know with Doja.

Yesterday, April 9, she demonstrated her capriciousness once more with another frustrating tweet: “The whole album is no longer rap yall its rock/spoken word and the album title is not Hellmouth anymore.” A minute later, she tweeted, “Album is called Moist Holes.”

On April 8, she also took to Twitter to share a screenshot of audio files, apparently leaking upcoming song titles such as “Wet Vagina,” “Balut,” and “Agora Hills.” She continued to confuse fans about what genre she’ll be tackling with the next LP by writing in a tweet, “No more pop.”

2023 WNBA Draft Results: Aliyah Boston Goes No. 1 To The Indiana Fever

The long wait for the 2023 WNBA Draft has finally ended, and after a thrilling end to the women’s college basketball season, there was plenty of attention on this year’s draft.

The Indiana Fever held the top pick and for the first time in some time, there was real hope for bringing in a timeline-altering player to the franchise that has missed the playoffs each of the past six seasons. Don Lemon Was Caught On A Hot Mic Appearing To Diss Jon Stewart For Getting ‘A Lot Of Leeway’ As A Comic

Don Lemon’s been having a rough time lately, what with his controversial comment about GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley not being “in her prime.” Even Michelle Yeoh gave him crap for that one. This probably won’t help: On Monday, the CNN co-host was caught on a hot mic appearing to diss Jon Stewart.

As per The Daily Beast, CNN This Morning ran a segment on the Daily Show alum’s latest viral sensation, in which he called out the Defense department for having a ginormous budget that still somehow lets soldiers go cash-strapped, which he declared “f*cking corruption.”

After the clip aired, but before they cut back to Lemon and company, Lemon’s voice could be heard, saying something about how Stewart “gets a lot of leeway with the comedian thing, though.”

When they cut back, perhaps realizing his off-air discussion had made it onto the soundwaves, Lemon seemingly tried to reverse course, saying, “We were just discussing that Jon Stewart is so much more than a comedian. He is a thought leader.”

Not long after he kept trying to save face. “Yeah, when I was saying comedian and television host, he’s so much more than that,” Lemon told co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins. “I don’t even know if you need to qualify Jon Stewart as that. But good interview there.”

Stewart laid low for the first handful of years after leaving The Daily Show in 2015, returning with Apple TV+’s The Problem with Jon Stewart, which finds him routinely taking the powerful to task with exchanges that go viral.
