Bad Bunny’s Headlining Coachella Set Had Very Fun Surprises, Including Post Malone, Jhay Cortez, And More

Last night, Bad Bunny kicked off weekend one of Coachella as Friday’s headliner, and he had some surprises in store to set the bar high. During “Safaera,” he brought out Ñengo Flow and Jowell & Randy.

Another special guest included Post Malone joining him on stage for an acoustic set. The two performed “La Canción” (Bunny’s song with J Balvin) and “Yonaguni,” the latter of which was a cappella, due to technical difficulties.

The two also hugged on stage as the crowd cheered. Fans online, however, were surprised by the duo’s friendship and Post’s appearance, given the two have no songs together. “bad bunny and post malone was not on my 2023 bingo card,” one person wrote.

During the performance, Bad Bunny reportedly revealed that Post was helping him practice English while he was teaching him Spanish.

Despite the shaky moment, the show kept going smoothly. Shortly after, Benito had Jhay Cortez out to play three more songs from the B-stage, as they did “Dákiti,” “Tarot,” and “No Me Conoce.”

“The happiest I’ve been during this whole Bad Bunny set was when Jhay Cortez came out because they have the best songs together,” another Twitter user commented.

All The Best Festival Fashion At Coachella 2023

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival returned to Indio, California this weekend, loaded with great music that literally drew fans from all over the world. With Puerto Rican star Bad Bunny and K-pop icons Blackpink among the headliners, Coachella’s global movement is in full swing, with other key artists (Frank Ocean, Blink-182, Phoebe Bridgers) hailing from the festival’s own backyard of Southern California. With so many locales represented, the expectation was that the fans would show up looking as fashionable and as eclectic as ever. And, they certainly delivered.

It’s been slightly more temperate weather conditions in California this year, thanks to a particularly cool and wet SoCal winter (there is even some snow still on the peaks near the fest). One of the questions for the weekend was whether people would tout as much skin as in years past. The answer was a resounding yes, as people still came ready for sun and dancing, even if the thermometer struggled to hit 80 degrees. The fans that didn’t arrive dressed to impress had options as well, with plenty of ways to tout Coachella-specific looks from the many merch vendors and an American Express pop-up with exclusive Blackpink shirts and accessories.

With Coachella’s first day in the books, take a look at some of our favorite festival fashion photos from the fest so far.

The Timberwolves Earned The 8-Seed In The West By Blasting The Thunder

After blowing a big lead against the Lakers in their Play-In opener, the Minnesota Timberwolves came back home needing to beat the frisky Oklahoma City Thunder to punch their ticket to back-to-back playoff appearances — something the franchise hasn’t done in 20 years.

Early on, it became apparent that the size differential in the frontcourt was going to be a problem for the Thunder against Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert, who was returning fresh off of a one-game suspension for punching teammate Kyle Anderson during a timeout. For the second straight game, Towns led the charge for Minnesota, but unlike in L.A., he avoided foul trouble and was able to keep the pedal down through the second half to lead the Wolves to a dominant 120-95 victory.

The All-Star big man finished the game with 28 points (11-of-16 shooting), 11 rebounds, and three assists, as the undersized Thunder simply had no answers for him when he attacked the basket.

Early on the Thunder were able to keep pace, as Jalen Williams and Luguentz Dort knocked down four threes apiece, but the size differential just was too much to overcome. They did make a run late in the third quarter to trim the Minnesota lead to 10, which led to a very nervous, hushed reaction from the Timberwolves crowd that was a bit worried they might be witnessing another collapse.

Anthony Edwards, who bounced back from a dismal game in L.A., stemmed the tide with a pair of big buckets in succession, easing the tension in the building and ultimately proving to end the Thunder’s run. He finished the night with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists, reasserting himself in a big way.

Gobert likewise had a big night in his return, with 21 points and 10 rebounds, including the most shocking play of the night in which he scooped a loose ball, dribbled behind his back, and finished at the rim.

The exclamation point of the game fittingly came from the two big men, as Towns fed Gobert on an alley-oop in transition to punctuate a dominant performance.

After a thriller on Wednesday against New Orleans in which they constantly found an answer for every Pelicans run, the Thunder just didn’t have it in them against the Wolves. Their lack of size in the middle was painfully evident against Towns and Gobert, who Timberwolves fans have to be thrilled to see actually punish a size mismatch consistently and thoroughly for a full game. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 22 points, but the Wolves made life hard on him all night, as he was just 5-of-19 from the field. His toughness was on display though, as he returned to the game after taking an inadvertent elbow from Gobert that left him with a nasty shiner on his right eye.

Williams and Dort chipped in 17 points, but OKC just didn’t have the offensive firepower in this one. Minnesota got a balanced attack, led by their three stars but with assistance from Mike Conley (14 points), Nickeil Alexander-Walker (12 points and terrific defense on his cousin, SGA), and Kyle Anderson (11 points off the bench).

The Thunder move into an offseason with far better vibes than any of the other teams that have exited the Play-In alongside them, as their appearance was a surprise and with Chet Holmgren entering the fold next year along with more young talent via their many draft picks — and the possibility that this is the summer some of those get cashed in for veteran help in trades — there is real optimism about the immediate future in Oklahoma City.

The Timberwolves, meanwhile, avoid disaster and get a much needed good vibes win to build momentum into the playoffs, where they will travel to Denver on Sunday to face Nikola Jokic and company in a very difficult series. Still, they have the talent to make things interesting against Denver provided they can put it all together on a nightly basis. That’s far from a guarantee given how their season has gone, but they’ll have a puncher’s chance and will ride a wave of positivity after a dominant win over OKC.

Kaytranada Brought Out Kali Uchis And Aminé As Some Surprise Guests During His Coachella Set

Kaytranada played his Coachella set today, as it was being livestreamed from the outdoor stage. He also brought out a few surprise guests during his performance — keeping with the festival’s tradition of bringing some friends along.

Kali Uchis showed up so the two could deliver their collab, “10%,” after he teased a loop of her vocals on the song. Fans watching from their devices were instantly thrilled.

“I wake up, it’s so good to be me / In the mirror, it’s good to see me / I don’t check for these other b*tches / You can ask God ’cause that’s my witness,” she sang.

As the story goes, back in 2019, the pair had originally premiered the song (and their fourth collaboration) at Coachella, so this brings things full circle.

“Kaytranada brought Kali Uchis out! I’m gagged,” one fan wrote. “yooo kali coming out during kaytranada’s set doing 10% was something i needed today,” another added.

Later into the set, he also brought out Aminé, given the two have a joint album project, titled Kaytraminé, on the horizon.

Throughout the rest of Kaytranada’s show, he incorporated songs like Beyoncé’s “Cuff It” to heighten his trippy and energetic stage presence.

Watch Blink-182 Perform With Their Classic Lineup At Coachella, For The First Time In Nearly Nine Years

Blink-182 made a grand return to the stage tonight (April 14) at Coachella 2023. The band arrived to the Sahara stage in its classic line-up, singer-guitarist Tom DeLonge, singer-bassist Mark Hoppus, and drummer Travis Barker. This marks the first time the band has performed all together in almost 9 years.

During their hour-long set, Blink-182 took us back with their ’90s and 2000s hits. They opened with the expletive-filled “Family Reunion,” which smoothly transitioned into “Anthem, Part II.”

The band picked up the pace a little bit, with “The Rock Show,” and smoothly wound down with “Man Overboard” and “Feeling This.”

About midway through, they delivered, with one of their breakthrough hits, “What’s My Age Again,” a reminder of their classics, before they performed their big comeback single, “Edging.”

Blink-182 closed their set with performances of “I Miss You,” “All The Small Things,” and “Dammit,” the lattermost featuring Delonge interpolating TLC’s “No Scrubs.”

Fans were hit with a wave of nostalgia during Blink-182’s performance, as they mostly played songs from their earlier albums, Dude Ranch, Enema Of The State, and their 2003 self-titled album. In fact, they actually didn’t perform any songs from their 2011 album, Neighborhoods, 2016’s California, or 2019’s Nine.

All the while, fans are dying to hear Blink-182’s comeback album, which is imminent.

Next month, the band will kick off their hotly-anticipated comeback tour.

But in the meantime, you can check out clips from the performance above.

Taylor Swift Brought Out Aaron Dessner For ‘The Great War’ Performance At Her Second Tampa ‘Eras’ Show

Taylor Swift played her second night at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium tonight (April 14), and she had some surprises in store for the mystery song section. For starters, she brought out Aaron Dessner, who had been spotted at both nights of her Florida run so far.

The two went on to perform “The Great War” together, from Swift’s recent album, Midnights. Dessner introduced it by noting how honored he was to be watching “the greatest performer on earth do the greatest show of all time.”

“This song took on a new meaning when you guys made enough jokes about trying to get tickets for this tour,” Swift joked later in the intro.

She then kept the similar energy going, commenting that she was changing the tour rules so she could repeat songs from the album at future shows. “Midnights is like the most accurate picture of my life to date,” she shared. “I just am so in a Midnights mood right now.”

Swift played “You’re On Your Own Kid” on the piano as the crowd loudly sang along — and fans online freaked out over missing seemingly the best surprise selections of The Eras Tour so far. The good news is, there’s a high probability she’ll play this one again. Maybe even tomorrow night at her final Tampa date.

Check out clips of Taylor Swift performing with Aaron Dessner and “You’re On Your Own Kid” above.

Halsey Has Announced Three New String Ensemble Shows For This Summer Benefitting LGBTQ+ Organizations

Halsey has announced a new string of string orchestra concerts that will benefit two LGBTQ+ support organizations, Hard Rock Heals and Outright International & Human Rights Campaign.

After already putting up tickets for two similar gigs in New Jersey this summer, they have now partenered with Hard Rock for performances on June 24 in Hollywood, Florida, June 30 in Gary, Indiana, and July 2 in Wheatland, California.

“Outright International works with partners around the globe to strengthen the capacity of the LGBTIQ human rights movement, document and amplify human rights violations, and advocate for inclusion and equality,” the organization’s website reads.

“The foundation’s motto, Love.Amplifed., seeks to inspire us all to turn up the volume and deliver the message that lives can be improved by the healing power of music,” Hard Rock Heals’ says. “The Hard Rock Heals Foundation provides grants and assistance to health and wellness, disaster relief, humanitarian causes and more around the world.”

Tickets for all three shows are currently on sale. More information can be found here.

As for Halsey, she has continued a busy year, with a lead role in Americana that premiered at SXSW and a cast announcement for Ti West’s upcoming film, Maxxxine — which is currently filming now. Given that their last album was back in 2021, there is also the possibility for new music this year.

The Heat Rallied Late To Beat The Bulls And Earn The East’s 8-Seed

For the fifth straight game, the 2023 NBA Play-In Tournament delivered a highly entertaining — albeit frustrating at times — contest on Friday night as the Chicago Bulls visited the Miami Heat.

Neither team could find much of an offensive rhythm in the game, entering the final quarter tied at 67-67, but it was the Heat that emerged from the slop with a 102-91 win that was more lopsided than the game felt for 47 minutes of action. In the first half, it was Max Strus who carried the Heat with 23 points, outscoring the other four Miami starters by four, as he went 6-of-8 from three-point range to propel Miami to a five-point edge at the break.

A 16-4 run by Chicago in the mid-third quarter pulled them in front for the first time since the early minutes, as Zach LaVine broke free for a runout dunk off a Heat turnover to give Chicago a 60-58 advantage.

From there, the two teams would trade stops and occasional buckets through the early fourth quarter before Chicago seemingly seized a bit of control in the mid-fourth after DeMar DeRozan and Coby White started to get it rolling.

Still, the Heat had answers for every mini-run by the Bulls to open up a lead, as Jimmy Butler and Strus continually found their way to hit big shots to stay in touch.

On the other side, White became the most reliable offensive weapon for Chicago, as he hit a couple big threes to keep the Bulls in front.

However, with 2:17 to go in the game and the Heat up 91-90, White would get pulled for Patrick Beverley in a move aimed at boosting Chicago’s defense. That move would backfire as the Heat almost totally ignored Beverley on the offensive end, shutting down driving lanes and sending help at DeRozan and LaVine, who couldn’t find much in the way of useful outlets with Beverley also unwilling to shoot open threes when presented the opportunity.

With the Bulls offense in the mud, Miami began to pull away behind Butler and Strus, who knocked down his seventh three of the night to push the Heat’s lead to five with just over a minute to go, ultimately proving to be the dagger.

In the end, Butler and Strus each finished the night with 31 points, as Butler carried the offensive load for much of the third and fourth before Strus found his range again at just the right time to push the Heat across the finish line. Strus’ big night provided cover for Tyler Herro (12 points on 12 shots) and Bam Adebayo (8 points on 1-of-9 shooting) as they struggled to provide much offensively. Adebayo did, however, loom large defensively and on the boards, racking up 17 rebounds and helping wall off the rim from the Bulls, but he will need to be much more effective offensively for the Heat to have any chance in the next round.

For Chicago, DeRozan was his normal self with 26 points and nine assists, but after carrying the Bulls to a win in Toronto, LaVine struggled with just 15 points on 6-of-21 shooting with five turnovers. Alex Caruso (16 points) and Coby White (14 points) provided some lift, but the offense just sagged too much without positive contributions from LaVine as their primary creator. Now, the Bulls enter the offseason with plenty of questions about how they should proceed with this roster after a fairly disappointing season. On the other side, the Heat get the reward of the Milwaukee Bucks for at least four games, where they will be heavy underdogs given their struggles with consistency on the offensive end.

Muna Debuted A New Song, ‘One That Got Away,’ And Brought Out Boygenius During Their Coachella Set

Muna took the Mojave stage at Coachella tonight (April 14), where the band premiered their upcoming song, “One That Got Away.” Prior to playing, they announced they’d be playing it and it was one not to miss.

“Yeah, you played it like a game / Never called it by its name,” lead singer Katie Gavin performed, commanding attention on the stage. “Isn’t it a shame how / Now I’m the one that got away?”

“I’m no longer in your reach / If I can’t hear you say it,” she added.

Already boosting off some high energy, Gavin also played a few of their self-described, “breakup song(s) you can shake ass to.”

At the end of Muna’s set, members of Boygenius (Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker) came out to perform “Silk Chiffon” as the closer together — given the song is the band’s breakthrough hit. Blood donations to the Red Cross have increased by 40 percent thanks to viral Snoopy t-shirt

Wanna get people to start a movement? Make it cool. And these days, nothing says “cool” quite like going viral on TikTok.

This was the exact recipe for success used by the American Red Cross to get more blood donations.

In a partnership with the ever popular “Peanuts,” the foundation announced that anyone who donated blood by Apr 23, 2023 would receive a t-shirt featuring (let’s be honest) everyone’s favorite character from the comic—Snoopy.

Not only Snoopy, but Snoopy in his coolest form…Joe Cool.

The t-shirt also has the words “Be cool. Give blood.” I mean, the American Red Cross has created other t-shirts as a donation incentive in the past, but the planets really aligned in the making of this one.

Folks on TikTok have gone absolutely crazy for it, with users on the platform sharing how they procured their own hot ticket item.

As a result, more and more people have learned about the blood donation process and became donors themselves.

According to CNN, donations have risen more than 40% thanks to the campaign, which is especially good news considering that 2021 was the country’s worst blood shortage in over a decade.

@fourr_eyess The American Red Cross really popped off with this one #americanredcross #giveblood #fyp #joecool ♬ Berry Pie – Dolly Parton

COVID 19 exacerbated this, of course. But current donor restrictions also play a huge factor. Under current guidelines, gay and bisexual men are required to abstain from sex for three weeks prior to donating—a rule that has been criticized as discriminatory towards men who have sex with other men. Advocates in LGBTQ+ community fought for a change to the rule, and in January the USFDA proposed eliminating the prior guidelines and instead focusing on individual risk factors. While the proposal has not yet been finalized, having more eligible donors could certainly help increase numbers.

And Snoopy t-shirts help too. Obviously.

Wanna be cool, donate blood and get your own t-shirt? You can schedule an appointment with the Red Cross here.
