Ed Sheeran Was So Impressed By A Fan’s YouTube Covers That He Invited Him On Stage For A Performance

Ed Sheeran is preparing for the release of his new album -, or Subtract, arriving in May. He shared the lead single “Eyes Closed,” which was followed by a stripped-down version featuring Aaron Dessner. Meanwhile, he’s also been hitting the stage to give powerful performances on tour.

On March 24, the “Shape Of You” singer played The O2 in London, and made it special for one specific fan named Luke Gittins. The 22-year-old posts covers of Sheeran’s songs on YouTube, so Sheeran invited him on stage to sing “The A Team” with him.

“Do you know ‘The A Team,’” he asked. “Do you want to come up and sing ‘The A Team?’ This isn’t set up, so thank you very much for doing this last-minute. We’ve got a guitar set up for you.”

“The reason I wanted to do this, guys, is like… being an up-and-coming singer-songwriter is really, really, really tough,” he said. “And when I wrote ‘The A Team,’ I was in a room and I was writing songs, and I was trying to make people care about the songs I wrote. I was covering other people’s songs to try and make people care about the songs that I wrote.”

Vladimir Putin’s Former Underlings Are Stunned Over How His ‘Superman’ Image Disintegrated: ‘He Is Really Terrified’

Vladimir Putin’s decade is not going as he planned. After Ukraine dared to not fall to Putin’s troops, his war has spiraled into a deadly affair for Russia. And to add further insult to injury, not only have world leaders been mocking his shirtless photos, but the Russian people are fending through an economy left in tatters. Meanwhile, his current team and other assorted underlings are said to be privately freaking out over his international arrest warrant over fears that they’re next. Morale must be pretty bad these days at the Kremlin.

The Daily Beast has spoken to some ex-Kremlin associates who are, quite frankly, thrilled that they’re not part of this mess. Robert Schlegel, an ex-member of a “pro-Kremlin youth movement” who is now exiled and living in Germany, told the publication about how he met Putin many years ago and observed that his public image was “a total superman,” a label that has obviously faded. And an ex-Kremlin political technologist, Marat Gelman, helped to stage photo ops (similar to the horseback photo shown above) to beef up that image, which he says has now crumbled into a puddle of fear:

“I regret that time and my role now, of course. The idea was to stage scenes of Putin being active, traveling, doing things, solving problems without saying a word,” Gelman, who is now an art collector and gallerist, told The Daily Beast. “I wrote texts that were published in newspapers as his … He was not afraid, it seemed he did not care much if he would lose, but now he is really terrified, because of the real danger he is facing.”

Gelman has further observed “how truly lost” Putin is after “he has burnt everything.” In other words, it’s no wonder that Putin is fretting over the day that he might see a true sign of presidential failure that could be coming: the loss of one vegetable. That veggie could be the true litmus test for how much Russians will tolerate as Putin’s disastrous war drags on into infinity.

Brooke Shields Says Andre Agassi ‘Smashed All His Trophies’ In A Jealous Rage Following Her Guest-Starring Appearance On ‘Friends’

John McEnroe might be the professional tennis player most closely associated with temper tantrums, but it turns out that Andre Agassi was a champion in that department, too. As Page Six reports, the Olympic gold medalist’s nickname “The Punisher” was as appropriate in Agassi’s personal life as it was on the court.

In a new interview with The New Yorker, Brooke Shields — who was married to Agassi from 1997 to 1999 — says that the legendary athlete threw a massive fit when his then-girlfriend made a guest appearance on Friends in 1996. In the episode, Shields plays a Days of Our Lives super-fan who is stalking Matt LeBlanc’s Joey Tribbiani (who in the world of the sitcom stars on the soap as Dr. Drake Ramoray).

“In the scene, I’m supposed to lick Joey’s fingers, because they’re the hands of a genius, and I want to devour them, and I’m a nut,” Shields explained:

“Andre was in the audience supporting me, and he stormed out. He said, ‘Everybody’s making fun of me. You made a fool of me by that behavior.’ I’m, like, ‘It’s comedy! What is the matter with you?’ I learned later that he was addicted to crystal meth at that point, so that irrational behavior I’m sure had something to do with that.”

The erratic behavior didn’t end on the set, however. When the couple got home, Shields shared that Agassi was still so mad that he “Smashed all his trophies. Who wins for that? That’s just—don’t!”

Agassi, who wrote about using meth in his autobiography, did not respond to The New Yorker’s request for comment.

Shields and Agassi first got together in 1993; they were married from 1997 to 1999. In 2001, Shields married Funny or Die co-creator Chris Henchy, who is known for writing the Will Ferrell vehicles The Other Guys and The Campaign. Something tells us he has a better understanding of comedy.

Lil Dicky Had An Extremely Larry David Encounter When Meeting Larry David For The First Time

The third season of Dave is coming right up, with the premiere set for April 5 on FX and the next day on Hulu. So, Dave Burd (aka Lil Dicky) is making the promotional rounds and he stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! yesterday (March 27). There, he told Kimmel about his first time meeting Larry David, an encounter that went just about how you’d expect it to.

Towards the end of the conversation, Kimmel mentioned that Jeff Schaffer, who co-created Dave with Burd, worked with Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm (and previously on Seinfeld, too). Kimmel then pointed out how he has noticed that Burd and David seem to have similar dispositions and approaches to life.

Dicky noted that he “idolizes” David and shared the story of the first time they met:

“I go into [Schaffer’s] office thinking I’m just, you know, about to meet up with Jeff to work on the show, and I just walk in and it’s just Larry, by himself in the kitchen, holding a granola bar. And he’s looking at it, and this is my first time… I don’t think I idolize anyone more than Larry David, so I walk in: immediately shell-shocked.

And he’s looking at this granola bar, he looks up at me, and he says, ‘You know, it says it expired two months ago.’ And I said, ‘Oh.’ And he said, ‘You think these are real, these expiration dates?’ I said, ‘I have no idea. I’m the last guy to ask about anything expiration date-related.’ He said, ‘Eh, I don’t think it’s a real thing.’ I said, ‘Yeah, I don’t know.’ And he said, ‘Do you want it?’

And I looked at it because I’m… honestly, I’m taking every moment of this in, you know, and it was pecan-based, it was a nut-based thing. I said, ‘I don’t like pecans,’ and he said, ‘OK,’ and that was the end of the conversation.”

You have to wonder if David’s conversation-ending “OK” was preceded by one of his classic Curb stare-downs.

Lil Nas X Put All The Devil Stuff Aside And Had His ‘Woman Of God’ Moment On ‘Carpool Karaoke’ With James Corden

At this point, who knows how many “Carpool Karaoke” segments we have left, since The Late Late Show With James Corden is set to air its final episode on April 28. Corden is making the most of his final days on the show, though, by bringing on some heavy hitters for “Carpool Karaoke.” He hosted Bad Bunny a couple weeks ago, and on last night’s (March 27) show, it was Lil Nas X who hopped in the passenger seat.

The segment started with Corden taking notice of Lil Nas X’s shirt, which featured a bedazzled cross (certainly a departure from all the devil stuff). Nas explained, “Oh, this? You know, I’m having my, like, ‘woman of God’ moment. Like, hmm, Christian era.” Corden then joked, “I feel like Mary Magdalene,” a Biblical figure who was a Jesus Christ associate and is often portrayed as having been a prostitute. Nas didn’t get it, though, asking, “Who’s Mary Mag-dolan?” Corden replied, “It’s a long story, let’s not get into it.”

Aside from driving around and singing songs, the main attraction of this installment was Nas and Corden stopping by the Bold And The Beautiful set to film a scene for the long-running daytime soap opera. Nas was given the part of a waiter, while Corden was relegated to holding breadsticks in the background.

Billie Eilish Shared A ‘Heartbreaking’ Thing That Friend Justin Bieber Told Her On Conan O’Brien’s Podcast

Television host Conan O’Brien’s podcast might be titled Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, but pop superstar Billie Eilish is overwhelmingly grateful for the ones she already has. In a previously released clip to tease the “Bad Guy” singer’s appearance on the show, Eilish talked about how fame has shaped the way she views the internet and internet culture. Now, with the full episode being uploaded to streaming platforms, we now know about a few other things that have changed for the songwriter since finding breakout success. The importance of strong friendship is one of those things.

Eilish’s lived reality is the exact opposite of her Swarm character, and thanks to her friend Justin Bieber, she’s been able to manage it a lot smoother. Around the one-hour mark, Eilish expressed how grateful she was to have found friendship with Bieber. While recounting her initial meeting with Bieber, she told the host just how their friendship has blossomed since then.

“I am so grateful that he’s in my life, like truly it is something I don’t even know how to explain it,” she said. “I am so so thankful for him and like the way that he was to me when I needed it, and he needed it, and we’ve talked about it a lot. He could have just said, ‘Oh cool, you’re a fan, bye,’ and that’s it.”

Eilish added, “And he’s continued to be so. He just doesn’t give up on me, and I know that sounds stupid, but it’s really true, he really makes me feel so loved and seen, and he’s always reaching out to me in the sweetest ways in the most like just comforting ways of just like ‘you’re not alone in this, I was there.’”

Bieber also found success early in his career, and Eilish shared that he was in desperate need of a friend that understood it all.

“He said something that was so heartbreaking, which was like, ‘I’m just really glad that honestly you have me to talk to about this because I actually understand, and there’s really, you know, almost nobody in the world can know what it was like except kind of you and me and a few others,’ and he was like, ‘I wish I had a me to talk to when I was starting out and doing all that and going through everything ’cause I didn’t, and I was alone.’”

Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Track ‘Cuff It’ Is Still Breaking Records, Several Months After Its Release

Beyoncé‘s Renaissance was undoubtedly one of the biggest, if not the biggest, release of 2022. The album was full of hits; the lead single “Break My Soul” is a timeless banger, and “Alien Superstar” kept fans entertained and making memes.

Months later, the album is still kicking it, especially “Cuff It.” The song has exceeded her beloved classic hit “Halo” as her longest-charting solo song of all time on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, according to Pop Base on Twitter. The feat has fans celebrating.

Renaissance was also recently the inspiration for a collection with Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing. About it, Rousteing said, “I was sketching and sketching as I listened, and sometimes you can’t control the emotion of your sketch… it wasn’t something I was supposed to be doing but I was just inspired by the music to do it.”

Beyoncé’ praised it, writing, “Thank you @olivier_rousteing and @balmain for bringing RENAISSANCE to life in couture,” she wrote. “Designing alongside you was freeing—thank you for allowing me to celebrate the human form, to take artistic risks, to push boundaries and to freely express myself. To the @voguefrance team, thank you for trusting in our vision and sharing it with the world.”

Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, SZA, And BTS Win Big At The 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards

Tonight’s iHeartRadio Music Awards was all about Taylor Swift. Taking a break from her The Eras Tour, the “Lavender Haze” singer sporting a hooded, bezzled, long-sleeved jumpsuit was certainly dressed for the trophy heist she pulled off tonight (March 27). An Appreciation For Judy Hanlon, Who Has Seen Some Truly Awful Basketball Since 2007

The Sacramento Kings are on the precipice of snapping one of the longest playoff droughts in professional sports. A win on Monday night (or a Clippers loss or Suns loss) would guarantee them one of the top-6 spots in the West and their first trip to the NBA Playoffs since the 2005-06 season.

The Kings were always bad in Sacramento until Rick Adelman arrived and led them to eight consecutive winning seasons and playoff berths, creating some true optimism in the Kings fan base. For Judy Hanlon, that string of success led her to buy season tickets in 2007. Since then, she has watched as the Kings have fallen short of the playoffs 16 consecutive times, never winning more than 39 games in the process.

On Monday, the Kings gave her the honor of ringing the bell before the game they were set to clinch a playoff berth, a deserved honor for a fan that has watched a team that has piled up 757 losses from the last playoff year to this season.

That is a Boeing jet’s worth of losses since the last playoff stretch. This is a lady with incredibly strong feelings on John Salmons and Marcus Thornton — as my friend Dan Devine notes in this incredible tweak to that screenshot.

I would love to see the jerseys and shirseys she’s owned over the years. For goodness sake, she’s sat in the stands and watched two different seasons in which Beno Udrih was the leader in win shares — and two with Willie Cauley-Stein.

While Judy is the avatar here, this is really an appreciation for Kings fans that have invested so much time and money in watching a franchise that has consistently been among the NBA’s worst. We salute you, friends in the Cowbell Kingdom, for having watched more bad basketball than any human should and still finding some joy. You’ve found hope in some truly hopeless places, trying to talk yourselves into Ben McLemore, Nik Stauskas, Thomas Robinson (I really believed, too), Jason Thompson, Marvin Bagley II, and, of course, Georgios Papagiannis.

You deserve this season of thrills, because next year the expectations kick in and new stresses arrive. In the meantime, enjoy the sheer joy of the beam team and that sweet journey to the playoff oasis after damn near two decades in the desert.

The Harry Styles Kiss Reportedly Left Emily Ratajkowski ‘Begging’ For His Ex Olivia Wilde’s Forgiveness

It doesn’t look like things are on the up and up over at Harry’s house. Over the weekend, Harry Styles and Emily Ratajkowski was spotted kissing on the streets in Toyko leading fans to gush at the prospect that the “As It Was” singer had officially moved on from his ex-girlfriend Olivia Wilde. The Don’t Worry Darling director and Styles called it quits in November and haven’t been spotted together since. While Wilde’s attention has been focused on her heated custody battle with Jason Sudeikis, Styles has been attempting to keep a low profile has been’s been out traveling the world as part of his ‘Love On Tour.’

After an old video resurfaced in which Styles declared Ratajkowski his celebrity crush, spectators figured the two’s rumored pairing was a match made in celebrity heaven. Everyone except Wilde, that is according to Page Six. Sources shared with the outlet that it isn’t your typical post-breakup jealous as Wilde and Ratajkowski are friends.

One source told the publisher, after the images and video of her and Styles kissing hit the net she eventually made her way to Wilde “begging” for forgiveness.

The model has publicly advocated for Wilde following her nasty portrayal in the media. Ratajkowski, even went as far as to provide Elle UK with a statement, in support of Wilde stating, “In the past year with Amber Heard and Olivia Wilde and the craziness of putting them in this box as if they’re monsters or witches. . .There’s nuance to it, but when you see the way that the whole world reacts to women, it’s really hard not to want to go to an extreme side of it.”

The source ended with Wilde was not confrontational about the matter and is deciding to “remove herself from it all.”
