Self-declared history and politics buff Cardi B went back on her vow to stay uninvolved in this year’s election, endorsing Kamala Harris after Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race. Although her preferred candidate didn’t win (and the future of the country looks undoubtedly bleak as a result), Cardi hasn’t backed down from online criticism of her endorsement, shutting down right wing grifter Candace Owens, who insinuated that her only reason for making the campaign rally appearance was getting paid by the Harris-Walz campaign.
“I didn’t get paid a dollar and that’s on my three!!” she shot back via Twitter (never calling it “X,” which is a dumb, horrid name). “I actually came out of pocket for glam and travel because it’s somewhere I wanted to be. Like please girl you know damn well I’ll argue you down about politics FOR FREE.”
It isn’t the first time Cardi has clapped back at Owens. In May, she shot down Owens’ disingenuous call to ban porn — although, she later realized that the engagement was only serving the wannabe commentator’s ends and deleted her responses. She’d likely be better served using that time to work on that long-awaited second album, which even she acknowledges has taken forever to finish.
Welcome to SNX DLX, your weekly roundup of the best sneakers to hit the internet. With just a six-sneaker round-up, this week is proving to be a pretty quiet one. Is it a sign that the 2024 sneaker year is essentially over? We don’t want to seem all doom and gloom but, yup, don’t count on the next few weeks to be heavy with sneaker drops.
That isn’t to say that you shouldn’t expect any more worthwhile sneaker drops and collaborations before the year ends, they’re just going to be a lot fewer and far between. Luckily for you, we’re here scanning all the releases of the week and gathering together only the shoes that truly matter. And despite this week’s light offerings, we’ve got some great ones this week!
Unless you’re an Adidas fan because that brand decided to sit this week out, add to that the lack of small brand collaborations, and we’ve got a short but strong lineup of New Balance and Nike. Let’s dive in, here are the best sneakers of the week.
New Balance’s rise in popularity is owed in large part to Teddy Santis and his brand Aimé Leon Dore, but those ALD New Balance collabs aren’t always easy to get your hands on.
This week’s Linen with Slate Grey 1906R isn’t an ALD collab but it looks like one! Same minimal aesthetic, same use of forest green, but at a much more manageable price.
The 1906R features a mesh upper with synthetic overlays over an ACTEVA Lite midsole. What really sells us on the shoe though is the combination of off-white, grey, and green.
The New Balance 1906R Linen with Slate Grey is out now for a retail price of $154.99. Pick up a pair at New Balance.
If you’re looking for something a bit more high-end with a bolder more eye-catching aesthetic, let us direct you to the 997 Vintage Teal. This sneaker comes out of New Balance’s premium Made in USA line and features a mixed canvas, suede, and mesh upper with a lightweight ENCAP midsole and a chunky wedge silhouette.
The New Balance Made in USA 997 Vintage Teal is set to drop on November 14th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $189.99. Pick up a pair at New Balance.

Nike Air Max Waffle Action Green and Altitude Green
The Air Max Waffle is a fusion sneaker that combines the Air Max Plus and the Waffle Trainer, resulting in a sneaker that looks like a retro ‘70s runner, with a ’90s out-there edge.
The sneaker features a textile upper with suede and leather overlays, and a combination of green tones, black, and orange with a milky off-white midsole. Rounding out the design is a thick thread waffle sole.
The Nike Air Max Waffle Action Greey and Altitude Green is set to drop on November 14th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $140. Pick up a pair via the Nike SNKRS app or aftermarket sites like GOAT and Flight Club.
Looking for a Y2K-inspired runner with high functionality? Look no further than the New Balance 740. The sneaker features a lightweight mesh upper with synthetic overlays, reflective accents throughout, and a split-style ABZORB midsole.
It’s designed to take serious pavement abuse, so if you’re looking for an affordable beater pair of sneakers, this is your shoe.
The New Balance 740 NB Navy is set to drop on November 15th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $109.99. Pick up a pair at New Balance or aftermarket sites like GOAT and Flight Club.

Nike Air Max TL 2.5 Total Orange and Dark Smoke Grey
Look, we love the New Balance running sneakers. They perform well, are comfortable, and are incredibly affordable. Having said that, Nike’s design ethos is just too good to deny.
Case in point the Air Max TL 2.5. The sneaker features an airy textile upper with synthetic leather overlays, and a mix of orange, charcoal, white, and crimson-red colors. Just look at this thing! It’s a near perfect design.
The Nike Air Max TL 2.5 Total Orange and Dark Smoke Grey is set to drop on November 15th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $180. Pick up a pair via the Nike SNKRS app.
Closing the week is the return of one of the greatest Jordan 4 colorways of all time: the Fear. The sneaker features a leather upper, full 1989 design specs and fit, and a colorway that combines black and grey tones, and a speckled midsole that looks like a starry sky.
It’s quite simply one of the best Jordan 4 drops of the year and a great collector’s item for hardcore Jordan heads.
The Nike Air Jordan 4 Fear is set to drop on November 16th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $215. Pick up a pair via the Nike SNKRS app or aftermarket sites like GOAT and Flight Club.

At the end of 2023, Lil Babydeclared, “I’m Gone Until The Album,” and, “Don’t Mind Me I’m Just Living Finishing Up The Album.” Then, yesterday (November 13), he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “2 songs 2 videos 2morrow !! Album Otw.”
Well, today is yesterday’s tomorrow, and one of the promised new songs, “5AM,” has arrived. The sub-2-minute track is produced by Wheezy and Sean Momberger, and notably, towards the end of the track, Baby teases a new album with the lyric (via Genius), “Even my mama be askin’ me, ‘Where is your album? We want it’ / Had to get on my business and tighten up my mental, I’m coming.”
The end of the song’s video displays what appears to be his upcoming album’s title: WHAM (Who Hard As Me).
Ahead of the song’s release, Baby wrote in an Instagram post teasing it, “Ain’t It Crazy How They Tryna Play Me Like I Ain’t The One !!! It’s That Time ! I Would Say Again But This Run Will Be Totally Different !! I Had The Darkest Period Of My Life These Last Two Years But I Stayed Down And Overcame That Sh*t Now I’m Back To F*ccin Sh*t Up As Usual… , Sincerely Wham !! Who Hard As Me Let’s Gooooooo.”
The still-untitled Apple TV+ series (possibly Wycaro?) reunites Gilligan with Emmy-snubbed actress Rhea Seehorn and has been described as a “fun, mild sci-fi series” that’s “said to be set in our world while putting a tweak on it, bending reality and focusing on people and exploring the human condition in an unexpected, surprising way.”
Filming on “Untitled Vince Gilligan Apple TV+ Series” began in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul were set, in May. But it appears the show is going international as well.
Spain-based publication Atlántico Hoyreports (with translation from Google) that “Risco San Nicolás, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is one of the Canary Islands locations chosen for the filming of Wycaro, the new project by Vince Gilligan.” Production will “remain in the capital of Gran Canaria until November 19, and will then move to another location in the north.”
Gilligan previously teased that there will be “no crime and no methamphetamine” in his show, which also stars Karolina Wydra, but “the world changes very abruptly in the first episode, and then it is quite different. And the consequences that that reaps hopefully provide drama for many, many episodes after that.” There is currently no release date.
Tyler The Creator’s beloved Camp Flog Gnaw festival is coming right up, as the 2024 edition is set for November 16 and 17. If you can’t make it out to Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles for one reason or another, though, there’s good news: You can watch the festivities online.
How To Watch Camp Flog Gnaw 2024 Online
The event will be streamed via Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch, starting at 3 p.m. PT on November 16 and 17. This is the second consecutive year that Amazon Music has been the exclusive livestreaming home of the fest.
For those interested in attending in person, though, it may be too late: Tickets are currently sold out, but there is a waitlist on the Camp Flog Gnaw website, which will notify users if any tickets become available.
Last month, organizers rolled out the Camp Flog Gnaw lineup in a fun way, by inviting fans to complete a crossword puzzle, all of the answers of which were artists on this year’s lineup. The roster ended up featuring Vince Staples, Earl Sweatshirt, Domo Genesis, Denzel Curry, Doechii, Kaytranada, DJ Mustard, Raye, Laila!, The Alchemist, Action Bronson, Concrete Boys, Blood Orange, Tommy Richman, Sampha, Faye Webster, and a number of others.
Frank Castle generally stands alone. Even when he’s technically acting as part of a group or a duo (and Netflix did this a few times to him), the dude is meant to go his own way (like the Fleetwood Mac song? sure). And although it’s still difficult (although awesome) to envision The Punisher having a place on a Disney+ series at all, Jon Bernthal’s vigilante will feature alongside Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again, which will debut in March 2025.
This series has been deemed official canon, and both Marvel Studios and Disney+ have been close-lipped about how much of The Punisher we will see on this new series. Bernthal was, however, photographed (via Getty) while bloodied up on the set.

It’s fair to assume that, as with Matt Murdock/Daredevil’s Disney+ intro in an Echo fight scene, Frank Castle could be a minor part of Daredevil: Born Again, and perhaps we will see more of him in the Disney+ future? Well, Marvel Studios streaming TV chief Brad Winderbaum appeared on Brandon Davis’ Phase Hero podcast, and here’s what Winderbaum had to say (hat tip to Screenrant) about additional doses of Bernthal in the MCU: “[H]e’s so great in that role! I can’t wait for you to see him on screen in this series and there’s absolutely a future for him in the MCU afterwards.”
That sounds like a tentative “yes,” so fingers should remain crossed. In the meantime, Disney+ recently dropped a 2025 sizzle reel during D23 Brazil, and the previewed Daredevil: Born Again scenes are keeping Frank under wraps. Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, however, does receive face time with Matt Murdock acting punchy:
Previously, Brad Winderbaum told Entertainment Weekly to expect “some of the most brutal action we’ve ever brought to the screen” in Daredevil: Born Again, which (again) will stream in March 2025.
Each week our staff of film and television experts surveys the entertainment landscape to select the ten best new/newish shows available for you to stream at home. We put a lot of thought into our selections, and our debates on what to include and what not to include can sometimes get a little heated and feelings may get hurt, but so be it, this is an important service for you, our readers. With that said, here are our selections for this week.
The acclaimed anime Dan Da Dan is about Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate / occult fanatic Okarun, who begin talking after she saves him from getting bullied. However, an argument ensues between them: Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. It’s a real Mulder and Scully dynamic, if they were both Mulder (and there was a Turbo Granny). Dan Da Dan, which is getting a weekly release, comes from animation studio Science Saru, who also made last year’s shockingly good Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.
Bill Lawrence might be rebooting Scrubs, and working on more Ted Lasso, and he has big plans for Bad Monkey season 2, but for now, he — and fellow creators Jason Segel and Brett Goldstein — is focused on Shrinking. The mental health comedy returns for another season with Segel as grieving therapist Jimmy and Harrison Ford as his cranky co-worker Paul. But the show’s real MVP is Jessica Williams.
It’s the final season for one of TV’s sweetest shows. Somebody Somewhere follows Sam Miller (played by Bridget Everett), who goes on a journey of self-acceptance and finds “a community of outsiders who don’t fit in but don’t give up, showing that finding your people, and finding your voice, is possible,” according to the Max synopsis. “In season 3, we see growth against all odds.”
Citadel, the one with Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra and produced by the Russo brothers, was an expensive misfire by Prime Video. But Citadel: Honey Bunny, the spin-off set in India with Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is supposed to be thrilling. Rolling Stonecalled it “raucous” and “slickly entertaining,” while Colliderpraised the “impressive stunt sequences, complex character work, and perfect blending of drama and spy thriller.” Oh, and if you’re wondering about the title, “Honey” and “Bunny” are the names of the lead characters. Seems important to know.
The animated series on Netflix from creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee is based on League of Legends, but trust me, even if you know zilch about the multiplayer online role-playing game, you can still enjoy Arcane. Season 1 premiered all the way back in 2021 (it’s somehow been an even longer wait than Stranger Things), but the strikingly stylish show is now back for its second season… which is also the final season. The voice cast includes Hailee Steinfeld and Ella Purnell, the queen of the video game show.
The Aubrey Plaza-starring My Old Ass is the kind of movie that will make you say: wow. During a mushroom trip on her 18th birthday, Ellliott (played by Maisy Stella) comes face to face with her 36-year-old self (Plaza). But when her “old ass” starts giving her advice based on 20 years of experience, Elliott begins to rethink her life during a transformative summer. It’s Gen Z’s defining coming-of-age comedy.
Prime Video is the streaming king of dad content with Reacher, Jack Ryan (which is being turned into a movie), and now Cross. Based on author James Patterson’s airport-popular Alex Cross novels, the crime-thriller stars Aldis Hodge as Alex Cross. Rather than adapt a single book, however, Crosstakes “the bone structure of that world and fills it up with a beautiful story.”
June Squibb: box office star! Thelma is the feel-good nonagenarian comedy of the year. After Thelma (played by Squibb) falls victim to a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson, she sets off on an adventure, with help from the late Richard Roundtree, to regain what was stolen from her. Make it a scammer-revenge double feature with The Beekeeper.
The final season of Cobra Kai was split into three five-episode chunks, beginning with Part I in July. Part II arrives this weekend, followed by Part III later this year. “The stakes are set at the end of the first five,” star William Zabka, who plays Johnny Lawrence, previously said about the final season. “I think if it was just a movie, it’s a great ending that would beg for a sequel, which fortunately is coming in a few months.” It’s here now.
Twisters is a throwback to a sillier and more fun time for blockbusters where the chemistry between the stars (in the original, Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt; in the sequel, Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones) is as much of a draw as the special effects (in both, tornados). It’s a lot of fun.
The past comes back to haunt the Garvey siblings in season 2 of Irish dark-comedy Bad Sisters. As Eva (Sharon Horgan), Grace (Anne-Marie Duff), Ursula (Eva Birthistle), Bibi (Sarah Greene), and Becka (Eve Hewson) are “thrust back into the spotlight, suspicions are at an all-time high,” according to the official logline. “Lies are told, secrets revealed, and the sisters are forced to work out who they can trust.”
You know who rocks? Rebecca Ferguson, that’s who. She rocks in Mission: Impossible. She rocks in Dune. And she rocks in Silo. The future-set Apple TV+ sci-fi series is about a community of people who live in an underground silo due to the toxic conditions of the outside world. Literally toxic, not “social media is bad for your mental health” toxic. Ferguson is joined by Tim Robbins, Common, Harriet Walter, and new addition Steve Zahn.
The true star of Emilia Pérez isn’t Zoe Saldaña or Selena Gomez. It’s Karla Sofía Gascón. In Jacques Audiard’s musical crime-drama, the actress, who is trans, plays a feared cartel boss who undergoes sex reassignment surgery with the hope of beginning a new life free from the past. Emilia Pérez has been getting Oscars buzz since it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, with special attention paid to Sofía Gascón’s performance. Could she make history?
Deadpool & Wolverine is the second highest-grossing movie of the year behind only Inside Out 2 with a box office gross of over $1.3 billion. Which is to say, you’ve probably already seen it. But if you want to rewatch the bus fight scene with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine fighting a mini-army of Deadpool variants, or turn the closed captioning on to figure out what the heck Channing Tatum’s Gambit is saying, now you can.
FKA Twigs is currently prepping her first new project since the 2022 mixtape Caprisongs. The album is Eusexua and it’s set to drop at the top of next year, on January 25. Today (November 14), she has shared a fresh taste of the album via a video for “Drums Of Death,” a new song.
The song is a glitchy, dance-inspired number, and both of those elements are reflected in the video, which sees Twigs in a boring, very gray office, alternately working in a suit and dancing in her underwear as the video glitches out in sync with the song.
A press release notes the song was the final one to be completed for the album, and that “the instrumental was originally created by Koreless while on a flight to Berlin to perform at Berghain, subsequently mixed on the legendary venue’s PA during soundcheck, and then debuted that evening at the club.”
Twigs previously said of the album, “I moved to Prague a couple summers ago, fell in love with techno, the album isn’t techno but the spirit is there fr. […] It’s deep but not sad. I’m not sad anymore.”
Watch the “Drums Of Death” video above.
Eusexua is out 01/25/2025 via Young Recordings. Find more information here.
Although “Cobra Kai will never die,” the Netflix series will officially be put on the mantle sometime in 2025 with the final episodes. At that point, Daniel LaRusso will head east for that The Karate Kid: Legends movie starring Jackie Chan and (presumably) the ghost of Pat Morita’s Mr. Miyagi. Before that happens, however, the second part of the sixth season (I know, this release structure has grown overly complicated) will surface to take Eagle Fang Miyagi-do to the most prestigious international competition on the globe.
Obviously, this Sekai Taikai competition does not exist IRL. What goes down during these fights is wild, so perhaps people will draw some metaphorical Floor Is Lava comparisons, at least in spirit. No spoilers shall be found here, however, because we are mainly here today to answer one question.
When Does Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 Stream On Netflix?
Johnny Lawrence will send it to the internet on Friday, Nov. 15 with a 12:00am PST and 3:00am EST release time.
The show will then unfurl its penultimate batch, which essentially consist of five tournament-centered episodes, but don’t worry. There’s still plenty of prescheduled time for drama, including context of Tory’s change of heart that caused her to move back to Cobra Kai from Miyagi-do, despite Robby not even being shown questioning where she was in the interim. (What a great move from a boyfriend, which probably further bolstered Tory’s hasty decision.)
Additionally, Daniel-san will be distracted from the competition by that box of Miyagi possessions that sat undisturbed for decades. This show’s heightened reality is a real trip, but Cobra Kai remains irresistible.
Netflix has provided a brief description of these episodes to invite viewers to “the Sekai Taikai, where Miyagi-Do will face new challenges and old enemies as they fight to become world champions – can they stay united as internal rivalries bubble back to the surface?” Get your popcorn ready.
Tate McRae will keep busy in 2025: Today (November 14), she announced a new album called So Close To What, as well as the Miss Possessive Tour.
A press release notes of the project, “Through unfiltered lyricism and raw emotions, So Close To What represents the journey of growing up when the road ahead feels infinite and the destination increasingly elusive. It’s an introspective exploration of self-discovery, love, and searching for balance in moments of uncertainty.”
A new McRae single, “2 Hands,” is set for release today at 7 p.m. ET.
The general on-sale for US and Canada Miss Possessive Tour tickets starts November 22 at 11 a.m. local time. Find more information about various pre-sales on McRae’s website.
