The Reason Lil Wayne Called Drake ‘Drizzy Drake Rogers’ 15 Years Ago Will Make Canadians Face-Palm

Drake recently opened up about exactly how one of his first interactions with Lil Wayne went. Specifically, the Canadian rapper noted that Wayne didn’t know what his name was when they meant, during an episode of A Moody Conversation alongside Lil Yachty.

“And I think his name was kinda like ‘Drake Drizzy Rogers’ / Or ‘Drizzy Drake Rogers,’ I’m too busy to play father,” Lil Wayne rapped in their 2008 collaboration, “Ransom.”

Yachty then asked Drake if Wayne still calls him that, fifteen years later. That was when Drake asked if he was aware of the backstory before sharing how exactly that line came to be.

“My email was [email protected]; Rogers was the service provider in Canada and [he] didn’t realize the ‘at’ in the email was like a middle interference,” Drake said. “He just thought my name was Drizzy Drake Rogers. I mean he rapped it once, I just didn’t have the heart to correct him.”

Rogers Communications, of course, is a major Canadian media and communications company that also owns the MLB’s Toronto Blue Jays and the Rogers Centre, where Drake’s beloved Toronto Raptors used to play their home games years ago.

Later in the interview, Drake and Lil Yachty discussed accents — with Canada coming up once again.

“I literally want to meet the first Toronto man of all time,” Drake added. “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know where he got the accent from or any of that but I know that he’s influenced all of us. I’m a full father talking like internet memes because that’s just my upbringing.”

Bill Maher And Greg Gutfeld Talking About What Imagery They Like To Masturbate To Is The Video No One Asked For

If you’ve ever wondered who or what Bill Maher and/or Greg Gutfeld are thinking about when they masturbate — and let’s face it, who among us hasn’t thought about that at some point — you’re in luck. Because the Real Time host invited Fox News’ late-night firebrand to sit down with him for a wide-ranging conversation on Maher’s “Club Random” podcast. As Mediaite reports, alcohol was consumed, cigars were smoked, spank bank material was revealed, and Gutfeld made an important distinction between incest porn and jerking off to your stepmom.

The unfortunate conversation began when Maher admitted that he “could never jerk off to a movie that took place like in the Middle Ages,” because he likes to keep things real — yes, even when he’s shaking hands with the milkman. And because he has never lived in the Middle Ages, such self-abuse would be highly unsatisfactory to the actor/comedian/politico.

“When I jerk off, it has to be connected to something that could actually happen,” Maher explained.”[S]o if I’m watching a hot chick in a movie about that takes place in the year 1132, there’s no way I can actually f**k that chick. I need to get a time machine.”

Gutfeld didn’t need any further explanation — or a TARDIS — to respond in kind. He popped right in with some sex stats that no one should just randomly know:

“That’s why the number one thing on Pornhub is step… was it stepmoms? Because… there’s millions of families with teenage boys and stepmothers. So the number one thing on Pornhub… it’s all like stepmother/ stepdad stuff.”

This is certainly an odd stat to have at the ready, but there you have it.

When Maher referred to that as “incest,” Gutfeld seemed to be an expert on the topic and was quick to correct him. “No, no, they’re not related,” said the Fox News personality. “It’s like if you ever all of a sudden… your dad marries this 23-year-old hot, whatever. She’s not related to you.”

Thanks for the clarification, Greg. You can watch the full conversation above; the sex talk begins around the 50:00 mark.

‘The Daily Show’ Guest Host Hasan Minhaj Has A Solution For The ‘Dilbert’ Creator’s ‘Racist’ Rant: ‘A Shut The F*ck Up Tax’

Former The Daily Show correspondent Hasan Minhaj kicked off his week as guest host by laying into Dilbert creator Scott Adams, who essentially torpedoed his own comic strip by going on an unfortunate rant. In the viral clip, Adams tells white people to stay away from Black people because it’s not worth it to help them. “This can’t be fixed,” Adams said. “It doesn’t seem like it pays off.” The rant prompted several newspapers to pull the Dilbert comic strip from its pages before Adams was ultimately dropped by his syndication partner, Andrew McMeels Universal.

“Oh my god!” Minhaj said after playing the video for The Daily Show audience. “He just kept going! He was like, ‘Black people are a hate group, white people should stay away from Black people, I stay away from Black people.’ And Kanye heard this and was like, ‘Whoa, my brother, pace yourself.’”

The guest host then proposed a solution gleaned from the time he “rubbed shoulders with the Illuminati” where he learned about an infliction amongst rich people and came up with a solution. Via The Daily Beast:

“When they don’t have problems of their own, they have to make up problems just to make their lives interesting.”

“I can guarantee you, J.K. Rowling had zero opinions about trans people when she was on welfare,” he joked. This is why “we need a wealth tax,” Minhaj added, and not for “any of that Bernie shit.”

“Rich people, this is for your own good,” Minhaj said before revealing how his plan will work. “The wealth tax is actually a shut the f*ck up tax.”

Omah Lay’s Tiny Desk Concert Was His Subtle Stamping As Afrobeats Rising Star, Across The Diaspora

When you think about the global music genre Afrobeats, who is the first act that comes to mind? Well, if Omah Lay wasn’t the first name to leave your lips, the Nigerian recording artist is working towards changing that. Making his Tiny Desk Concert series debut, the “Attention” singer put his best foot forward with a harmonious performance of his biggest tracks.

After finding success in 2020, thanks to his song, “Bad Influence,” which went on to be the most-streamed Nigerian song on Apple Music, Omah was sure to lead off his brief set with it. However, before transitioning onto the next track, which was “I’m A Mess,” he took a moment to introduce his band and supporting vocalists.

The musicians supporting Omah included guitarist Ernest “Subroza” Osei-Bonsu, keyboardist Donald Crentsil, drummer Kwabena Kyeremeh Adade, percussionist Leroy “Boogie” Greer, and bassist Steve Millar, while Domo Abrams and Monet Shelton provided background vocals. Speaking with the attentive in-studio audience, Omah said, “These boys are from Ghana, I’m from Nigeria, and the ladies [the background vocalists] are from America. So, my band is a mixture of it all.”

Songs “Soso,” “Never Forget, ” and a medley of “Infinity,” “Bend You,” and “Understand” close out his set. Quite a few of Omah’s fan-favorite tracks were notably missing from the set, including “Woman,” “Confession,” and “Damn,” the latter of which has been covered by 6lack. But to be fair, with so many songs to choose from, some just weren’t going to make the cut.

Watch Omah Lay’s full performance above.

Omah Lay is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

The remaining members of De La Soul are planning to pay tribute to their fallen friend Trugoy The Dove with a concert at New York City’s Webster Hall. Thursday’s The DA.I.S.Y. Experience will transform the venue with “artwork from the group’s classic album, 3 Feet High And Rising” according to a press release, and will take place as the group’s catalog finally comes to DSPs.

Only 333 tickets will be available — since three is “The Magic Number,” after all — and you can reserve them beginning Wednesday (March) on the concert’s official website. And although that means that there will be plenty of disappointed fans, the De La Soul experience is for everybody; fans will be able to stream the concert live on Amazon Music’s Twitch channel at 8 pm ET, along with interviews with friends of the trio and other special guests.

Trugoy, aka Dave Jolicoeur, passed away at age 54 on February 12. Kevin Hart Finally Caught On To His Viral Memes, And He Admitted That He Has ‘No Idea What’s Going On’

It’s very scary for a celebrity to be trending on Twitter, because it normally means one of three things: the celebrity said something offensive, just celebrated a birthday, or died. Every once in a while, a celebrity will trend simply because they got a bad tattoo or sang an unexpected rap at a prestigious awards show. Hey, this is the way the world works now!

But if a celebrity suddenly found out that thousands of people were talking about them on the world wide web, it is natural for them to want to know why. As for Kevin Hart, he still seems…confused by the whole thing.

Hart was trending on Twitter over the last few days, and he played into the trend by asking why he was trending, which just caused him to keep trending, which is unfortunately how the internet works. “I have no idea what’s going on,” he tweeted in earnest.

The origin of Hart’s viral moment seems to be traced back to one particular thread which has users sharing their favorite Kevin Hart reaction images. The man makes a lot of worthy reactions.

Of course, trending can transcend social media platforms, which is why Hart also took to Instagram to ask his followers the deal, while sharing some of his favorite memes about himself, “Can somebody tell me why I am trending,” the post said. Hart seemed confused but welcomes the attention. “I got endless memes being sent to my damn phone from a bunch of my dumbass friends. WTF is going on???? Gotta admit that they are funny as hell tho.”

Even though he might not understand it, he is clearly having fun with his newfound increased fame. As for what he’s actually up to lately, Hart will appear in the upcoming Borderlands movie alongside Oscar nominees Cate Blanchett and Jamie Lee Curtis. So he can expect some more trending moments in the future.

LaMelo Ball’s Season Is Over After Fracturing His Right Ankle

The Charlotte Hornets’ dismal 2022-23 season grew even worse on Monday night. While they picked up their 20th win of the season over Detroit, they saw their star guard LaMelo Ball suffer his fourth ankle injury of the season, this time fracturing his right ankle on a non-contact play.

After three left ankle sprains cost him time at various points throughout the season, Ball’s 22-23 campaign came to an official end on Tuesday when word broke that his fractured ankle will result in him sitting out the remainder of the season, per Shams Charania.

It is a disappointing end to a season full of stops and starts for Ball, who will hope to regroup this offseason and see the Hornets add another foundational piece around him via the draft so they can have a bounceback in 2023-24. Ball will end his season with averages of 23.3 points, 8.4 assists, and 6.4 rebounds per game on 41.4/37.6/83.6 shooting splits, serving as one of the few bright spots in Charlotte this year.

As the Hornets close out the final 19 games of the season, they will continue to monitor the progress of rookie Mark Williams and shift attention to the offseason, where there is considerable roster work to be done to vault themselves back into the playoff contender tier in the East.

Keke Palmer Has Given Birth To A Baby Boy

The unrivaled queen of memes, Keke Palmer, has given birth to a baby boy.

The Nope actress revealed her pregnancy during her Saturday Night Live hosting stint just a few months ago but she gave fans a quick update on her pregnancy journey earlier this week. Palmer and her partner, Darius Jackson, welcomed their first child together on Monday and shared the news of the birth — and the baby’s name — with fans on Instagram shortly thereafter.

Palmer posted a handful of pictures detailing the day of the birth, showing both her and Jackson on their way to the hospital while listening to the song “Someone,” by El Debarge. The couple then gave fans a glimpse inside the hospital room, showing both Palmer and Jackson holding their newborn before revealing his name, Leodis “Leo” Andrellton Jackson.

“Born during Black History Month, with a name to match!” Palmer captioned the post. “LEODIS ANDRELLTON JACKSON, welcome to the world baby Leo.”

Naturally, fans took to Twitter to celebrate the good news.

Even Palmer was hyping the news on Twitter.

We just have one question: will we get a video of the new mom introducing herself to Leo by saying, “Baby, this is Keke Palmer”? Because we’d really like to see that.

The First Look At Jude Law As Captain Hook In Disney’s ‘Peter Pan & Wendy’ Trailer Is Sure… Something

The first movie based on author J. M. Barrie’s Peter and Wendy novel came out nearly 100 years ago. There have been plenty of adaptations since, including a pre-M3GAN Allison Williams taking Wendy to Neverland, “Rufio!”, and the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” sequence from Pan that I’m still convinced was a fever dream, but none with Captain Hook being played by Jude Law. Until now!

Peter Pan & Wendy is the latest live-action reimagining of a Disney animated classic coming to Disney Plus. It stars Alexander Molony as Peter Pan, Ever Anderson as Wendy, Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell, Jim Gaffigan as Smee, and the Young Pope as the ticking alarm clock-fearing pirate (who looks like a Mike Myers character in the trailer above).

Law is the second best reason to watch Peter Pan & Wendy. The best? The movie is directed by David Lowery, who also made A Ghost Story, The Old Man & the Gun, and The Green Knight. He also directed Pete’s Dragon, the best of the Disney live action “remakes.” Weird career!

Here’s more:

Peter Pan & Wendy introduces Wendy Darling, a young girl afraid to leave her childhood home behind, who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Neverland. There, she encounters an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever.

Peter Pan & Wendy, which also stars Disney’s good luck charm Alan Tudyk, comes to Disney Plus on April 28.
