Guns N’ Roses has announced a huge world tour, which kicks off in Tel Aviv, Israel in June and will continue through October.
According to Rolling Stone, it will be their return to North America after 2021’s We’re F’N Back! tour. Last year, they used the touring break to release theUse Your Illusion super deluxe version.

Remember Ben Stein? The teacher from Ferris Bueller who went on to do Clear Eyes commercials and host a Comedy Central game show where a young Jimmy Kimmel was his sidekick? Well, he’s back. The former speechwriter for Richard Nixon (which will answer a lot of questions moving forward) recently posted a video where he ranted about the lack of Aunt Jemima syrup bottles. A pressing topic if there ever was one.
To bring everyone up to speed, the Aunt Jemima bottles were retired by the Quaker Oats Company in light of the George Floyd protests in 2020. The image on the bottle was based on the racist caricature of a “mammy,” a slave who was often tasked with the cooking and tending of her master’s children. The image was removed from the bottle along with the Aunt Jemima name, which was rebranded. Via CNN:
“We are starting a new day with Pearl Milling Company,” a PepsiCo spokesperson said. “A new day rooted in the brand’s historic beginnings and its mission to create moments that matter at the breakfast table.”
Jump to the present day where Ben Stein is not happy. Not happy at all. In the weird video, he complains about no longer having a “large” Black woman on his pancake syrup. He called the decision “racist,” which is the exact opposite of what happened, but again, speechwriter for Nixon.

“Aunt Jemima yummy pancake syrup,” Stein said while holding the rebranded bottle. “Now, this used to show a large African American woman chef. Because of the inherent racism of America’s corporate culture, they decided to make it a white person or maybe no person at all. But I prefer it when it was a Black person showing their incredible skill making pancakes.”
After Stein’s rant somehow went viral, the former Comedy Central got completely roasted in the replies for complaining about pancake syrup and not understanding how racist caricatures work. You can see some of the reactions below:

Runnner — Like Dying Stars, We’re Reaching Out
Runnner‘s Always Repeating felt like a collage of intimate memories and powerful feeling. Like Dying Stars, We’re Reaching Out functions similarly, instantly opening with crisis: “Am I wasting this chance to be / Better than whom I’ve been?” The instrument is delicate and his vocals are like leaves falling in a slight breeze. The songs flow into each other seamlessly, anchored by Noah Weinman’s thoughtful reflections and nostalgic chords.
Pile — All Fiction
All Fiction unravels eerily from the start, “It Comes Closer,” whose title aptly sums up the feeling of the song as it inches forward, building a sense of fear. When the brooding ends, the songs immediately explode with heavy guitars and quick rhythms. The album bounces back and forth between this unsettling quiet and abrasive loudness; “Gardening Hours,” a highlight, contains both extremes.
Steady Holiday — Newfound Oxygen
Steady Holiday is the project of Dre Babinski. Her album Newfound Oxygen is an emotional rollercoaster, which was expected from the lead single “Can’t Find A Way,” whose hook is: “Can’t find a way to fall in love with you.” The record is full of visceral moments like that; her lyrics are like gut-punches against delicate guitar chords.
Dry Cleaning — “Swampy” & “Sombre Two”
Stumpwork by Dry Cleaning was a great follow-up to their breakout debut New Long Leg. That sophomore album was only released in October of last year, but they’re already back with Swampy, a forthcoming EP with “Swampy” and “Sombre Two,” two tracks that didn’t make the cut for Stumpwork. The songs are brooding and atmospheric, especially the slowburner “Sombre Two.” Dry Cleaning aren’t in a rush; they know they don’t have to prove themselves.
Men I Trust — “Ring Of Past”
Everything Men I Trust put out is dreamy and cinematic. “Ring Of Past” feels like an old romance movie, and the music video lives up to that, capturing rollerblading in a rink, some effortlessly slick and others terribly clumsy. There’s a feeling of playful innocence to it that also exists in the song; it warbles infectiously, and the vocals are a delight.
Bully — “Lose You” (feat. Soccer Mommy)
A mischievous bassline immediately kicks off the headbang-worthy anthem “Lose You” by Bully, which is only made better with the help of Soccer Mommy. “Writing ‘Lose You’ was a way for me to work through the pain and reality of impermanence,” Bully said of the track. It all builds up to the revelatory bridge: “Either way I’m gonna lose / Either way I’m gonna lose you,” they sing powerfully in unison.
Fidlar — “Centipede”
It may be hard to believe that Fidlar still possesses the compelling angst that made their old albums, especially 2015’s reckless Too, so special. But the singles from their forthcoming EP That’s Life have been as charmingly scrappy and witty as ever. That’s especially true for this newest song “Centipede,” which has the hilarious line: “My girlfriend thinks I’ll abandon her / She’s my Oasis, but she treats me like I’m a Blur.”
Tanukichan — “Take Care” (feat. Toro y Moi)
The singles from Tanukichan’s new album Gizmo have been mesmeric and thoughtful. “Take Care,” which features Toro y Moi, might be the best one yet. The guitars are easygoing but immersive; the vocals are breathy and glimmering, blending into the soaring instrumentation to become one.
Beabadoobee — “Glue Song”
Beabadoobee is lovestruck in “Glue Song.” “Finding the right words / To use for this song / I have you in mind / So it won’t take so long,” she sings, and she’s not afraid to repeat herself or get cliché; sometimes romance just is that simple. It was the perfect Valentine’s Day release.
The New Pornographers — “Angelcover”
“Angelcover” is an interesting contrast from The New Pornographers’ last single “Really Really Light.” “Angelcover” has more of a groove, moving with a somewhat post-punk edge with deep, intimidating vocals against a sensual bassline. The lyrics paint a strange story: “Why you’d put your faith in a wild guest, who knows?”

The last thing the world needs is another movie about Boston — unless it’s a movie about Boston starring Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon. Boston Strangler is a thriller about the reporters who broke the story of the notorious Boston Strangler murders of the 1960s. Knightley plays Boston Record American journalist Loretta McLaughlin, while Coon portrays Jean Cole. “Despite initial ridicule and derision from police investigators,” Cole’s obituary reads, “she and her colleague continued writing articles to alert women to the risks they faced. Eventually, their early intuitions were discovered to be facts.”

The film follows Loretta McLaughlin (Keira Knightley), a reporter for the Record-American newspaper, who becomes the first journalist to connect the Boston Strangler murders. As the mysterious killer claims more and more victims, Loretta attempts to continue her investigation alongside colleague and confidante Jean Cole (Carrie Coon), yet the duo finds themselves stymied by the rampant sexism of the era. Nevertheless, McLaughlin and Cole bravely pursue the story at great personal risk, putting their own lives on the line in their quest to uncover the truth.
Boston Strangler, which also stars Bill Camp, Alessandro Nivola, David Dastmalchian, and Chris Cooper, comes to Hulu on March 17.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Tampa, Florida, released a harrowing video on February 15 of a woman fending off a sexual assault. But even though the video is distressing to watch, it comes with an encouraging message for women everywhere: “Keep fighting.”
The video of Alma’s escape went viral on Twitter, where it’s been played over 5 million times.
On January 22, 2023, Nashali Alma, 24, was working out alone in the gym at her apartment complex when she saw a man standing outside the front door. She let the man in and resumed her workout, but after a few minutes, he approached her menacingly.
“As soon as he was approaching me, I pushed him. I said, ‘Bro, what the F are you doing? Get away from me, stop trying to touch me,’” Alma said in the video. “He started chasing me around the bench, and we ended up on the other side of the gym.”

A fight ensued, and the alleged attacker, Xavier Thomas-Jones, 25, eventually got Alma on the ground, but she wouldn’t stop fighting him back. She used all four limbs to kick, grab and punch Thomas-Jones until he finally relented. Then, she ran out of the gym to a nearby apartment and called 911.
Within 24 hours, Thomas-Jones was apprehended by law enforcement and now faces charges of sexual battery, false imprisonment and kidnapping.
“I was disgusted by the suspect’s actions, how he preyed on this young woman,” Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a press release. “This woman’s strength, courage, and determination are inspiring. I know that her bravery to share this story will impact the lives of many other women.”
Alma attributes the escape to her tenacity and urges women everywhere to do the same if they are in a similar position.
“I would tell every woman always to keep fighting, never give up,” Alma said. “As long as you fight back and show him that you’re strong and you’re not giving up, I believe it’s possible to escape.”
“It’s better to reach out to law enforcement sooner than later,” she continued. “The sooner they have the information, the sooner they can catch that person.”
According to the Joplin Police Department in Montana, Alma did the right thing. The department says that if you are attacked by a rapist and decide to fight back, you must be “quick and effective” and “target the eyes or groin.” It’s also important to “make noise to discourage your attacker” and to try to “escape, scream, and be rude.”
It’s a sad state of affairs that women have to give each other words of encouragement to help them survive a potential sexual assault. But it’s important for women like Alma to share their stories to help others who may find themselves in the same position. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office should also be commended for sharing the video, so people know how to thwart a potential attacker and for starting a conversation about women’s safety.
Hollywood isn’t exactly known for cultivating lasting relationships, but some couples have managed to defy the statistics with their happy, mutually supportive, long-term marriages.
The two actors met briefly when Sedgwick was 12 and Bacon was 19, but they didn’t really get to know one another until a decade later while filming the movie “Lemon Sky” in 1987. Bacon fell for Sedgwick right away, but Sedgwick wasn’t impressed by him at all at first. She quickly had a change of heart, however, and the two were married in September of 1988. They started their family right away, and nearly 35 years later, they are still going strong.
“I had no great role models in terms of healthy marriages, but I knew in my heart and soul that he was the right person,” Sedgwick told Good Housekeeping in 2010. “It was an unquestionable truth of mine. I’ve never had anything like that before or after.”
One “secret” to their long-lasting marriage is that they keep it simple.
“We like each other’s company,” Bacon told Serendipity in 2015. “We enjoy doing things together, sharing our lives, cooking, laughing—and she’s hot.”
“People say it’s this fairytale thing, but it’s life. We just love each other a lot,” Sedgwick told Redbook in 2012, “When we’re on the red carpet and we get the ‘How do you guys do it? No one can stay together,’ I get irritated. I don’t think our relationship is more or less difficult; I just think you both make the commitment and you make it work.”
They also say they just got lucky in their relationship, and that with the exception of a few bumps in the road, it hasn’t been hard.
Their ease and comfort with one another are evident in a video Bacon shared on Instagram, in which the couple sings Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers’ together. Bacon, who often shares his music on social media, plays the guitar and Sedgwick plays…a screaming goat?
“We’re not with the goats, but we thought we’d try a goat song anyway,” Sedgwick explains at the opening of the video. It’s really a must-see—for the love, for the silliness and because Bacon really does have a cool singing voice.
Selena Gomez has talked openly about her diagnosis of lupus for several years now. We’ve seen her take breaks from music and acting because of it, and she’s even gotten a kidney transplant from the organ damage the autoimmune disorder caused. With all of the changes Gomez has gone through, she continues to push forward and attend celebrity events when she is able.
But once again, the focus of her latest red carpet walk at the Golden Globe Awards was her body. Not because she looked stunning in her gown—which she did. No, it was because she gained a few pounds. Gomez has been in the spotlight since she was a child on “Barney & Friends,” then later on “Wizards of Waverly Place.” She’s 30 years old now, and that alone should be reason enough for people to expect her to have more curves.
Since Gomez has spoken publicly about her lupus and bipolar disorder, it seems like people would be kinder and expect that her medications may cause weight fluctuations. Instead, people wrote articles about the state of her body and folks on the internet decided to leave comments about it. This led to the singer addressing the body shaming in an emotional TikTok live.
In the live video, she explained what happens when she takes her medication. “[When I’m taking it, I] tend to hold a lot of water weight, and that happens very normally. When I’m off of it, I tend to lose weight.” During the video, Gomez got emotional, saying, “My medications are important and I believe they are what helps me. Not a model, never will be. And I think they’re awesome, mind you. I’m just definitely not that.”
It’s a wild thing to watch unfold. This isn’t the first time Gomez has had to come out and talk about her weight gain. It just makes you wonder why we are still commenting on people’s bodies. Unless you’re a person’s medical provider and they’ve come to you asking why they’ve gained weight or how to lose it, then maybe we should collectively keep those thoughts inside the thought box.
So many people experience different things in life, and some of them cause our bodies to look different than what others may be used to. But commenting on what has changed about someone’s body can cause harm that exceeds hurt feelings.
Studies show that body shaming can cause depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, eating disorders and more weight gain. Having someone give unsolicited commentary on your body just doesn’t feel good, and celebrities are getting that experience times millions.

Fans of the actor have come to her defense on social media. One of them took to Twitter, writing, “The fact that selena felt like she had to go on a live and explain that when she takes medical for her illness she gains weight after being bodyshamed [sic] and asked why she looks different… like i feel so bad for her she looked so upset.”
“I just want people to know that you’re beautiful, and you’re wonderful,” Gomez said. “Yeah, we have days where maybe we feel like s—, but I would rather be healthy and take care of myself. My medications are important, and I believe that they’re what helps me.”
Gomez ended the live thanking her fans for their support and telling the haters to go away, saying, “I’m perfect the way I am.”
Jason Isbell’s run for political office is going to have to wait just a bit longer for a good reason. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will be pretty preoccupied as they prepare to drop their eighth studio album, Weathervanes, this coming June. To give fans a taste of what’s to come, the rockers released the 12-track project’s lead single, “Death Wish,” to streaming platforms along with a lyric video to their official YouTube channel.
In a statement, Isbell described the album as “a collection of grown-up songs” about adult love, change, the danger of nostalgia, and redemption. “There is something about boundaries on this record,” said Isbell adding, “As you mature, you still attempt to keep the ability to love somebody fully and completely while you’re growing into an adult and learning how to love yourself.”
“Death Wish” keeps in alignment with this emotional whirlwind.
“Some [songs] will make you cry alone in your car, and others will make you sing along with thousands of strangers in a big summer pavilion, united in the great miracle of being alive,” Isbell declared in a statement.

The massive K-Pop group Twice has announced that they’ll be heading on their fifth world tour this year. Titled the Ready To Be Tour, after their forthcoming EP, and teased as “Part 1” on the official poster, Twice’s shows will kick off in Seoul, South Korea, before heading to Australia, Japan, and cities across North America.
With this new tour, it will make Twice both the only female K-pop group to headline in MLB and NFL stadiums and the first to play at East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium, Dallas’ Globe Life Field, Atlanta’s Truist Park, and Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.
For shows in the US, fans are able to register through Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program now through March 8. They will then receive an access code to purchase tickets at a later date TBA. More information on registration is available here.
