Last week it was reported that Donald Trump was going for a Mulligan when it came to giving Ron DeSantis one of his mean nicknames. His first attempt — “Ron DeSanctimonious” — received mixed reviews. He’s a professional bully, he could do better when it comes to his most hated potential 2024 rival. And so it seemed he had: The New York Times claimed he was beta testing a couple new ones, including the very mean but far catchier “Meatball Ron.” Alas, Trump denied the report, and now he’s doubling down.

As per The Daily Beast, the former president, at 1am EST on a Saturday, took to this rinky-dink Twitter clone to bemoan the report.

“I will never call Ron DeSanctimonious “Meatball” Ron, as the Fake News is insisting I will,” he wrote. “Even though FoxNews killing lightweight Paul Ryan is revered by him, Low Energy Jeb Bush is his hero and always at his side, his beaches and State were closed for long periods of time, his testing, testing, testing for the China Virus didn’t work out too well, and his loyalty skills are really weak, it would be totally inappropriate to use the word “meatball” as a moniker for Ron!”

“Meatball Ron” is not a nice nickname, but it does roll off the tongue a lot more smoothly than “DeSanctimonious,” which isn’t even a good description of him. That he’s sticking with it has strong “jerk store” vibes. If he wants to win the 2024 Republican ticket a third time, he might have to reconsider, especially considering DeSantis probably isn’t ready for Trump’s insults. Or maybe he should stick with it for that very reason.

We are just days away from Don Toliver‘s third studio album, Love Sick. Over the past few months, he’s dropped quite a few singles and some fire collaborations, and next week, we’ll finally get to experience Love Sick in full.

In addition to the much-anticipated album, Toliver will release a short film on Prime Video, set to the music of the album. It seems like there will be no shortage of surprises from Toliver, so we’ve put together a guide to his upcoming album.

Lizzo is returning to our TV screens. Last year, the “About Damn Time” hitmaker kept us fed with TV specials, including her HBO Max documentary Love, Lizzo, as well as her concert film Lizzo: Live In Concert — not to mention, her Emmy Award-winning reality competition Watch Out For The Big Grrrls. This time, she will be giving animation a spin.

Today (February 17), Lizzo took to Instagram to reveal that she will appear on an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. She shared an animated version of herself, drawn by Simpsons creator Matt Groening. In the drawing, Lizzo is seen wearing what looks like an animated version of her Yitty activewear.

“SEE YOU IN SPRINGFIELD, B*TCH,” she captioned the post.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lizzo will voice two different characters in The Simpsons upcoming 34th season finale, which is set to air on Fox in May. One will be a fictional version of herself, and the other will be a toy elf doll that comes to life after Homer gets into an accident.

“We had this idea for a long time, and it always felt like a pipe dream, but then we figured out a way to do it,” said executive producer Tim Long. “…So she’s playing this happy little elf doll that comes to life and becomes his spirit guide.”

Niall Horan recently announced that his new album, The Show, is coming out this summer. However, with the reveal, one fan named Emily on TikTok spotted something in the promotional materials that has others on social media talking.

As she points out, Horan’s using the same cloud print that was present in the background of an image tied to Harry Styles a few months ago. While fans initially thought that the birds-eye still of a circus set was for one of Styles’ music videos for Harry’s House, there’s a possibility that it was actually for Horan’s — and a crossover is taking place.

“Had we not gotten those pictures of Harry on the set, I would have thought that the music video was just for Niall the whole time and we got it all wrong,” she said. “There’s so many coincidences because I didn’t think they’d be doing a song together, and I don’t really even know now if they are but, like, what the heck? What’s going on?”

Last May, Styles also was on some sort of circus project, as photos surfaced of him being shot out of a cannon in a yellow outfit. At the very least, it was for something.

Others have pointed out that an old pic of Horan’s shirt apparently appeared behind one of Styles’ door promos last year.

For the second year in a row, the NBA’s Rising Stars game featured a tournament format with a target score. This year, that meant a team led by Pau Gasol and a team led by Joakim Noah squared off in the final. By the time the dust settled, Gasol’s team came out on top, 25-20, thanks to a three hit by New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado that got his squad to the target score.

Bennedict Mathurin of the Indiana Pacers got the ball in the corner and found himself in a spot of bother. Instead of try to hoist up a triple, he passed the ball over to Alvarado, who launched an off-balanced three where he nearly collided with his teammate. It ended up being a perfect jumper, as the ball did not touch the rim as it went through the cylinder.

In a fun twist, a conversation between Alvarado and Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers showed that he predicted that he was going to knock down the game winner. As a result, Mitchell showed Alvarado some love and told him that he now owes him a dinner.

Alvarado won MVP on the night, as he scored 13 points in his team’s semifinal win over Deron Williams’ squad before scoring five in the final game.

Lil Peep‘s mother, Liza Womack, and the late rapper’s former label, First Access Entertainment, have officially settled a wrongful death lawsuit. The news comes just a few weeks after it was announced that the two parties were close to reaching one without needing a trial, according to Pitchfork.

Womack took to Instagram to share that her son’s music will be solely in his family’s hands. She first filed the lawsuit and also claimed that the label owed her $4 million. “FAE is trying to choke off her funds by denying her her royalty revenue that they know she’s owed,” Womack’s lawyer Paul A. Matiasic shared in the fall of 2021.

“It is a solemn moment for us as we reflect on the struggles of the past five-plus years. We are grateful to all of the fans, friends, professionals, and family who stood by us,” Womack announced on Instagram, with a photo of Peep. “We were all permanently changed by Gus’s death. We know he should be here in the world with all of us, creating — making whatever he was inspired to make. But he is not.”

“We will protect his music with all of our strength,” she added.

If it had not been settled, they were required to turn in their trial binders today (February 17) and would’ve headed into a March court date. Neither is happening.

The Miz’s best moment since he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract at the 2021 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view ended up being for naught. The WWE superstar competed in Friday night’s Celebrity Game at the NBA’s All-Star weekend as a member of the team led by Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith.

Like most Celebrity Game participants, Miz seemed like he had a pretty good time, but ultimately, his number one priority looked like it was having fun. That changed at the end of the game, though, as Team Ryan trailed by five points with two seconds left. But after a stolen inbounds pass and a layup, Smith’s team needed a three to tie or one of the game’s four-point shots to win.

Simu Liu tried to chuck the ball down the court to DK Metcalf with the hopes that he would catch it and run out the clock — admittedly a very good idea — but instead, Miz was able to reel in the pass. He threw up a prayer from halfcourt, and wouldn’t you know it, his prayer was answered.

Metcalf, whose team suddenly lost due to this being a four pointer, was in complete shock.

It was pretty obviously late, though, and the referees ruled this out. Team Dwyane won on the scoreboard, but I think it’s safe to say The Miz won the hearts of everyone who watched.

Shaquille O’Neal is a man of many talents, but his greatest attribute is arguably his ability to secure the bag, as Shaq has never seen a product he couldn’t sell to the masses.

Shaq has always been wildly protective of his brand because of this, as he won’t dish out free advertising for anyone, but especially a competitor in the same industry he has an endorsement deal in. On Friday night in Salt Lake City, Guillermo from Jimmy Kimmel Live! learned this the hard way when he tried to get Shaq to participate in a bit where he brought him a pizza courtside, but Shaq shut it down emphatically because the pizza was not from Papa John’s, where Shaq sits on the board.

It’s a hilarious juxtaposition of Guillermo, who is always being as goofy as possible, and Shaq, who turns deadly serious as soon as he realizes he is being handed a pizza box that’s not the Papa’s. What makes it even funner is that it’s not even a brand name of pizza, just whatever pizza box they have for the in arena pizza, which means Shaq wouldn’t have even been doing guerrilla marketing for a competitor, just eating a pizza that’s not Papa John’s. Still, that’s not going to fly with the big fella, and if you want to get him involved in your bit, you gotta make sure you aren’t diving into one of the 50 areas he has endorsement deals in.

Unlike Michael Jordan, Shaq did not eat the pizza in Utah. Everybody else ate the pizza.

Years after Halsey teamed up with Post Malone and Future for the fiery “Die For Me” song back in 2019, she is officially dropping their long-awaited solo version of the track.

Halsey had teased this copy for quite a while, as most fans jumped to her verse at the very end of the original, where she raises hell for a cheating ex. Now, we get to hear what else they had to say.

“Next Friday I’ve got a little surprise coming,” Halsey posted. “It’s been long known in my fanbase that there’s a demo of “Die For Me” with just me on it. I performed my verse on the tour all summer long and since so many people have asked for it, I decided to put my full version out as “Die 4 Me”. It’s dropping next week on 2/24 and I can’t wait for y’all to hear it. Big big thanks to @postmalone @louisbell and @future for having me on the original release and co-signing this version finally seeing daylight.”

It’s also no surprise that Post and the rest of the team finally let Halsey drop the song — mainly because they’ve been rooting for this energy since day one.

“It is a good reminder to people that you are not alone and sh*t gets better. Halsey f*ckin’ snapped!” Post Malone had shared at the time of the trio’s release.
