‘Jeopardy!’ Stumped Contestants On A Bob Dylan Question, And Their Guesses Were Truly Disheartening

Bob Dylan is one of the most influential songwriters of the generation. In fact, his legendary songs are the inspiration behind Blueprint Pictures’ forthcoming film, Girl from the North Country, starring Chlöe and Woody Harrelson. Known for publicly declaring his love for many other musicians, including Eminem and Wu-Tang Clan, and the television game show Jeopardy! wanted to return the love.

The nightly trivia program hosted by Ken Jennings dedicated a full category of questions to the musician’s pen titled “Bob Dylan Lyrics.” As the contestants started with the entry-level question worth $400, it took all three fighting for the top spot for a loop. Jennings revealed the question to be, “‘Hey’ this guy, ‘Play A Song For Me, I’m Not Sleepy, And There Is No Place I’m Going To,’” to which the answer was “Mr. Tambourine Man.”

However, neither of the two contestants that answered got it quiet on the nose. The first contestant answered, “Who is piano man,” confusing Dylan with Billy Joel. In an attempt to snatch the $400 cash prize, the next contestant guessed, “Who is Joe.”

Of course, neither of the contestants was right. The last contestant refused to contribute to the embarrassing musical flub. Fans at home took to social media to call out the participants for mixing up famous musicians. For some people, the “Who is Joe” response seemed as if they confused Dylan with the late Jimi Hendrix.

Tucker Carlson Is Predictably Losing His Mind Over The Recent Spate Of UFOs, Sounding The Alarm About A Possible Alien Invasion

Since Friday three unidentified objects that were flying (or, to put it more succinctly, UFOs) have been shot down by American fighter pilots. Government agents are still investigating what they are (or at least are still keeping it under wraps from the public). On Monday we reached an inevitable step in the story: People, already on edge due to the Chinese mystery balloon, began openly speculating that they may be extraterrestrials. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said they weren’t (though added she loves the movie E.T.), but that didn’t stop chill guy Tucker Carlson from madly speculating about an invasion from beyond the stars.

“What exactly were all three of these objects?” Carlson mused on his high-rated nightly Fox News show. “As of yesterday, nobody seemed to know.”

He then played a clip of Air Force General Glen Van Herck, commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command, fielding a question about them being related to aliens.

“I haven’t ruled out anything at this point,” Van Herck said. “We continue to assess every threat, or potential threat – unknown – that approaches North America with the attempt to identify it.”

That was enough for Carlson to scare the crap out of his more gullible viewers:

Could be aliens. So here you have three unknown objects in three days. If these things are extraterrestrial, what we’re seeing is an alien invasion. That means at some point they’re probably gonna demand to be taken to our leader.

And what are we gonna say then? “This is Kamala Harris. She once dated Montel Williams, but now she runs our country because her boss is senile.” Pretty embarrassing.

If the UFOs are indeed from some alien species, there’s a good chance they haven’t heard of Montel Williams. If they have, they’d probably be impressed that Williams dated a future vice president, and one who’s powerful enough to reunite The New Radicals.

Jacque Vaughn Detailed The Challenges Of Figuring Out Who To Play With Ben Simmons

The Brooklyn Nets are navigating interesting waters in the wake of the blockbuster deal that sent Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns and the well-chronicled exit of Kyrie Irving in the blink of an eye. Despite the high-profile losses, Brooklyn is in the midst of a playoff chase with a deep and interesting roster that still includes a former No. 1 overall pick on a max contract in Ben Simmons. On Monday, the Nets fell to the New York Knicks by double-digits at Madison Square Garden, and Simmons appeared for only 13 minutes off the bench, marking his second-lowest minutes total of the season.

After the game, Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn was asked an understandable question about why Simmons saw the court for so little time. What followed, though, was a very interesting and detailed answer that revealed, and frankly cemented, some of the ongoing challenges with constructing lineups around Simmons’ strengths and weaknesses.

“It’s going to be some work that we have to do,” said Vaughn, via Tim Bontemps of ESPN. “Because you just take a look at what the lineups could potentially look like. You put another big next to Ben, then you got to figure out what the spacing is around him. Then, if you put another playmaker next to him, then you got to figure out what Ben looks like without the basketball. Then if you go small with Ben, then you have to figure out can you rebound enough with him? So the challenges are ahead of us. We’ll look them head on. We’ll figure it out. We have the personnel to figure it out. Whether it is me mixing and matching throughout different pieces of the game, and allowing him to have a group and run with a group, that part we’ll figure out, but you see the challenges that lie ahead.”

For plugged-in NBA observers, none of Vaughn’s sentiments are surprising or particularly new in nature. It is well-known that Simmons has no desire to shoot from the perimeter and, while he has been a high-end defender in the past, he hasn’t excelled as a full-fledged anchor on the backline. Throw in the fact that Simmons has always needed the ball to be his best, the presence of an emerging (and shooting-challenged) standout at center in Nic Claxton, and a bevy of perimeter creators, and it stands to reason that Simmons could slip into the background.

Candidly, Simmons shouldn’t play big minutes for the Nets in his current form which, of course, brings awkwardness. He is owed more than $78 million for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons combined, and many believe Simmons could have the most damaging contract in the NBA. As such, Brooklyn likely can’t plan to move him in the trade market, so Vaughn is tasked with making it work and, on a team with a worse record, it would probably be easier to just throw him out there and see what happens. The Nets clearly want to win, however, and Vaughn’s answer is a reminder that nothing is particularly easy when coaching a team that features Ben Simmons in 2023.

Drake’s ‘Psychotic’ And ‘Illogical’ Super Bowl LVII Bet Actually Paid Off In The Sum Of $1.4 Million

Apparently, the ‘Drake curse’ only works on people not named Drake. If there’s one thing the “Rich Flex” rapper loves more than his music, sports would be a close second. Whether he is filming a hilarious to congratulate his longtime friend LeBron James for breaking the NBA’s all-time scoring record or being clowned on for his skills by his hometown’s star player — nowadays, sports and Drake go hand in hand.

From time to time, his love for sports significantly pays off. After placing nearly $1 million in bets on Super Bowl LVII, he has earned big. Before the game, the performer to Instagram to share screen grabs of his bets with the caption, “My psychotic bets for Sunday are in @stake. Pls, do not analyze the logic behind these bets. There is none.”

Thanks to the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory, the Toronto native is cashing in over $1 million in earnings. Placing a $700,000 bet on the Chiefs to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles resulted in an estimated payout of $1.4 million. However, his bet that Chief’s quarterback Patrick Mahomes and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster to score the first touchdown didn’t happen. The other losing Super Bowl LVII bets from Drake included the Chiefs would win each half, predicting the Chiefs would win each quarter, and for Travis Kelce and a tight end to win the Super Bowl MVP.

Drake could’ve taken home over $4.5 million, but his estimated winning total is just under $1.5 million for selecting the correct victors.

The Weirdly Delayed Jason Statham-Guy Ritchie Movie ‘Operation Fortune’ Finally Has A New Release Date

In late 2021, the world the first look at a hotly anticipated new Jason Statham-Guy Ritchie movie. It had the silly title of Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre. It had Aubrey Plaza and Hugh Grant and Josh Hartnett and Cary Elwes. It had a great poster. It was supposed to come out the following month, then it was bumped to March. Then it went mysteriously AWOL from the release schedule. Now over a year later, it’s resurfaced as suddenly as it disappeared.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Operation Fortune will finally hit theaters very soon, on March 3, when it will open opposite Creed III. Statham plays a super spy with the unbelievable name of Orson Fortune. Orson Fortune seeks to take down a dangerous billionaire (Grant) peddling dangerous new weapons technology. To do so, Orson Fortune enlists the baddie’s favorite actor (Hartnett) to help deceive him. Judging from the trailer, action and hilarity appear to ensue.

Why Operation Fortune went missing is a bit complicated. Last year The Evening Standard reported that the film was removed from the release calendar because it featured “Ukrainian baddies,” and after Russia invaded Ukraine it was seen as being in bad taste, at least then. There’s also some business involving its initial distributor, STX, which ended its distributing wing due to restructuring. Its U.S. distribution rights were only recently purchased by Lionsgate, who will release it instead.

Operation Fortune will be Richie and Statham’s fifth film together. The two got their big break with 1998’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. They reunited for Snatch and Revolver, then they didn’t do a movie together again until 2021’s Wrath of Man. Now look at them.

Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre will be released on March 3. You can watch the trailer in the video above.

Janet Jackson Reportedly Declined The 2023 Grammys Global Impact Award After CBS Refused To Apologize

The 2023 Grammy Award ceremony and the week full of celebrations prior were filled with historical moments. During the ceremony, Beyoncé became the most awarded musician in the event’s history, Kim Petras became the first transgender woman to win, and some of hip-hop’s pioneers returned to the main stage as part of the genre’s 50th-anniversary tribute performance.

Prior to the ceremony, the Recording Academy held its annual Honors gala, where they presented the Global Impact Award to Dr. Dre, Missy Elliott, and Lil Wayne in partnership with the Black Music Collective. However, according to TMZ, there was one international superstar that removed themselves from the runnings to be recognized — Janet Jackson.

The outlet reports that at the beginning of the talks, Jackson and the organizers were all on board until Jackson requested a formal apology from CBS, the official broadcaster of the Grammy Awards. Back in 2004, Jackson was heavily scrutinized by the network following a wardrobe malfunction during that year’s Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, the talks allegedly became “complicated,” and an amicable decision went unmet between the parties. In addition to the request not being met, a representative for the icon shared that, in the end, Jackson would be unable to attend the Recording Academy Honors due to scheduling conflicts.

In the meantime, fans of the entertainer take to social media each Super Bowl with their annual #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay posts.

The Internet Is Not Happy About Olivia Wilde’s Flirty Comment About ASAP Rocky, Who’s Famously With Rihanna

Yesterday (February 12) was a massive day for Rihanna. The pop star made her long-awaited, nerve-wracking comeback with her legendary performance at the Super Bowl. While fans are stoked about this, many are also expressing discomfort and frustration about something another celebrity said involving the “Umbrella” singer.

Olivia Wilde posted a video of ASAP Rocky, famously Rihanna’s boo, on her Instagram Story. “If I thought he was hot before, this really put me over the edge,” she wrote. The quote-tweets on Pop Base’s post about it are far surpassing the retweets; users are dunking on Wilde, especially for tagging Rihanna in the Instagram Story while being so flirty.

Of course, no one will let this ruin the special moment for Rihanna or her fans. On the contrary, it only gets better from here, mainly because she revealed in an interview that she’s “exploring, discovering, creating things that are new” in music.

She said, “Musically, I’m feeling open. I’m feeling open to exploring, discovering, and creating things that are new. Things that are different. Things that are off, weird, might not ever make sense to my fans [or] the people that know the music that I put out. I just wanna play. I wanna have fun. I want to have to fun with music.”

Bust Out The Sad ‘Charlie Brown’ Music Because ‘Arrested Development’ Is Leaving Netflix In March

For a good long while Arrested Development has had a stable streaming home on Netflix. The service even ponied up for two more seasons! But all things must pass and on March 15, all 84 episodes will vamoose, at least for now.

The Mitch Hurwitz show was a groundbreaker when it bowed in 2003. Following the misadventures of the seriously screwed-up Bluth family, it was dense and breakneck-paced, each episode packed to the brim with oft-surreal jokes. It was never a ratings success, which is why it barely eked out a third season. It was one of those shows that really only took off when it was off-the-air, when people started obsessing over its DVD box sets. (Although Charlize Theron, who memorably appeared in a Season 3 stretch, credits it with saving her career.)

Netflix brought Arrested Development back in 2013, though the format was greatly changed. The show was still breakneck, but instead of telling its story in (mostly) linear order, most of the much-longer episodes focused on individual characters. Netflix later recut it for an alternate version that was more like the original run. The show came back once more, in 2018, but controversies involving Jeffrey Tambor, who played both George Sr. and his twin Oscar, tainted the show’s rep and it didn’t have the same cultural impact it once enjoyed.

Perhaps now that it’s all leaving Netflix, people might give that fifth and likely final season another try. You’ll have until the end of March 14 to hang with the bickering Bluths. At least they’ll still have Seinfeld.

Machine Gun Kelly And Megan Fox May Not Be Over Just Yet, According To An Inside Source

Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox might not be ready to throw the towel in just yet on their planned nuptials. Over the weekend, Fox caused quite a stir on social media. After the actress erased all the photos and videos of the two of them together, Fox then uploaded a photo carousel ending with an image of a letter burning in an open flame captioned with Beyoncé lyric, “You can taste the dishonesty / it’s all over your breath,” before following Kelly’s musical nemesis Eminem.

Fox has since deactivated her Instagram page, and according to People, this may have been for the best. The outlet has reported that while the couple may be in a rough patch in their relationship, a source exclusively told them, “They haven’t officially called off the engagement.”

However, the source wanted to drill home that Fox hasn’t yet spoken to Kelly after a fight over the weekend. Fox also took her engagement ring off, adding, “They have had issues in the past, but things seem pretty serious this time.”

The couple reportedly broke up in the past, but it was later disproven after being spotted in public together. In this case, it seems like the insider is confirming there is indeed trouble in paradise, better yet, Hotel Diablo.

Machine Gun Kelly has not yet issued a comment.

Jon Favreau Has No Interest In Making An ‘Elf’ Sequel, Calling The Original ‘Very Complete’

Everything old is new again, especially in the Hollywood of today. During the Super Bowl, people freaked out over many things, including the appearance of Michael Keaton dusting off the batsuit he ditched over 30 years ago. But there are a few properties that won’t get revived any time soon. One is Back to the Future. Another is Elf.

In a new interview with Variety (in a bit teased out by Entertainment Weekly), Jon Favreau was asked about his first hit as a director, namely the 2003 Yuletide comedy. He’s moved on to other things; he basically created the MCU with the original Iron Man, he’s got The Mandalorian, and his last big screen effort was the live-action version of The Lion King. But that’s not the only reason he’s not returning to part of his roots.

“I think there’s always room for new Christmas movies,” Favreau told Variety. But with Elf, he said, “I don’t know what story would be told after that. It’s very complete.”

There actually was an Elf sequel in the works once upon a time, but it never materialized. Maybe it will at some point, featuring a much older — though presumably still boyish — Buddy Hobbs. Perhaps it will even wind up being helmed by Favreau. But for now and for the foreseeable future, you’ll just have to keep rewatching the original, which continues to be something lots of people like to do.
