‘The Boys’ VFX Supervisor Has (Jokingly) Pinpointed ‘The Most Disgusting Thing’ He’s Seen From The Show

The Boys is currently hard at work on Season 4, but you know how people are while working, and that includes Supe-loathing vigilantes: there’s always time to tweet, if one is so inclined. If it’s any consolation at all during these months of waiting, however, we will see the Gen V college-aged spinoff much sooner, and that show has freaked out Arnold Schwarzenegger and will feature multiple cast members from the series proper.

Back to the tweeting, though. The Boys social media team (Billy Butcher, we see you) has recently had a grand time while trolling HBO Max for deleting shows and movies (and this was before the immediate $1 price hike). And it’s all fun and games until the Compound V-infused series took things way too far.

As one can see below, The Boys is now claiming to have done the unthinkable and gone PG for Season 4

Stephan Fleet, the show’s VFX supervisor a producer, is appalled. Maybe: “I think I just saw the most disgusting thing I have seen working in this business thus far.”

Yes, that’s infinitely more revolting than the entire Herogasm adventure (RIP to Mother’s Milk‘s grip on sanity that day). Still, we have a lot to look forward to when the definitely TV-MA series returns. That includes new Supes because Maeve and Starlight are off the team. Hopefully, Maeve will have a nice quiet life on the farm, but don’t count on Starlight going quietly. Thank god.

Bankrupt Conspiracy Theorist Alex Jones Claims He Can’t Go Anywhere Without People Slobbering All Over Him: ‘Women Are Throwing Themselves At Me’

If you were asked to state the first adjective that comes to mind when picturing Alex Jones, there are plenty you might think of: Sweaty. Gross. Loud. Obnoxious. Hairy. Unhinged. Frequently shirtless. Bankrupt.

“Beloved” wouldn’t likely enter the equation, but you’d be wrong not to go there. So says Jones himself, who spent a few minutes mock-complaining about how difficult it is for him to do a simple thing like go out to eat and not be swarmed by a group of admirers, who want to do everything from feed to f**k him.

Former federal prosecutor Ron Filipkowski shared a 45-second clip from a recent episode of InfoWars, in which Jones barked about how much people just love him. Comparing his life of a decade or so ago with what it’s like today, Jones explained:

Now I go to a restaurant and I say, ‘Listen, can I be put in a private room?’ Not ‘cause I don’t care about the public, but it’s gonna make a major scene. If they don’t have a private room, you know what happens? My food gets bought almost every time. And I get mobbed all around the table. And I’m signing autographs for the waiters. And the owner comes out. And I get followed into the parking lot. And women are throwing themselves at me. And I’m not bragging about it, I’m just telling you.

According to Jones, being “demonized” by “the establishment” had made life very difficult for him and his family at times. “We do get haters, we do get stalkers,” he said. But they’ve also provided him and InfoWars with a much bigger platform, and have made him much more “iconic” than he would have been otherwise.

Sure, he may spread lies about school shootings — but who wouldn’t throw themself at this guy?

A Juror In Young Thug’s RICO Trial Was Ordered To Write A 30-Page Essay After Failing To Report For Duty

Look, nobody really looks forward to jury duty. Even the most civic-minded among us might find it an inconvenience, considering that legal proceedings can be tedious and inscrutable and trials can drag on for months at a time. However, one juror in Young Thug’s upcoming RICO trial is learning just how seriously they should take that responsibility — or at least, that’s the idea behind the judge ordering the woman to write a 30-page essay on the importance of jury service.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Juror No. 64 recently traveled to the Dominican Republic on business after trying to notify the court of her travel plans ahead of time. However, when she didn’t show up to court on Monday, Chief Judge Ural Glanville sent sheriff’s deputies to her grandmother’s home to collect her.

The juror said she travels frequently for work and didn’t get her summons until late December. “I didn’t really know I was in violation until the sheriff showed up,” she said. “I thought I was following directions.” However, that wasn’t enough to save her from being found in contempt of court for failure to appear. However, in lieu of sentencing her to jail (up to 20 days) or fining her (up to $1,000), Judge Glanville came up with a creative consequence.

The essay, which must be written in APA style with 10 primary sources and 10 secondary sources, will be due in three weeks and will be run through a plagiarism check. The juror must also appear again on February 13. If she doesn’t, harsher penalties may be applied. She’s otherwise excused from this round of service — but she’ll probably be a lot more eager to show up the next time she’s summoned. Judge Glanville offered his reasoning, reminding the juror that not very long ago, “people who looked like us couldn’t serve on juries. It was prohibited.”

Young Thug is accused of eight charges including gang activity, racketeering, and illegal weapon and drug possession. He’s one of over two dozen members of the alleged street gang “Young Slime Life” or “YSL” who was charged in a 56-count indictment in July of 2022. Thug maintains that YSL is really a record label standing for Young Stoner Life, and the case has drawn scrutiny for its use of Thug’s lyrics mentioning YSL to connect him to the alleged gang.

Several artists on the label have pled guilty to lesser charges of racketeering in exchange for their freedom; this could negatively influence the outcome of Thug’s defense, drawing criticism of those artists. Meanwhile, the terms of their plea deals mean that YSL Records, in its current form, will essentially be out of business, even if Thug is acquitted.

Young Thug is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Jimmy Kimmel Just About Lost It Watching Matt Gaetz’s Pathetically Impotent Interview With George Santos

A year ago, it would be hard to imagine that Washington, D.C. might ever see — let alone welcome — as prolific a liar as Donald Trump. But as Jimmy Kimmel noted on Thursday, the former president is “getting a run for his money from another New Yorker of ill repute: newly elected misrepresentative George Santos.”

The laundry list of things Santos has lied about just keeps growing, and includes his educational and professional background, an animal charity that reportedly never existed, his religion, his mother dying on 9/11, and now — maybe most bizarrely — him being some sort of volleyball champion. “If you’ve ever seen this guy, he looks more like a volleyball than a volleyball star,” joked Kimmel.

While he’s being chased through the halls of the Capitol by reporters wanting him to tell his side of the story, Santos has mostly remained mum on his series of falsehoods… until now. As Kimmel explained, the freshly sworn in congressman “did agree to sit down for an interview with one of the hardest hitting journalists” working today: Matt Gaetz?!

The Forehead from Florida buddied up to Santos by reassuring him that “embellishing one’s resume isn’t a crime. It’s, frankly, how a lot of people get to Congress.” That was how the Florida Man segued into the bigger question of where Santos got the more than $700,000 he donated to his own campaign.

Santos, ever the contrarian, instead told Gaetz where it didn’t come from: “It didn’t come from China, Ukraine, or Burisma. How about that?”

“You’re going to be shocked to hear this,” Kimmel said of Santos’ non-answer answer. “Matt Gaetz didn’t really press him on it.”

You can watch the full clip above, which includes video of Santos tripping over a newspaper as he tries to get away from reporters, beginning around the 3:00 mark.

Have ‘GMA’ Anchors Amy Robach And T.J. Holmes Been Axed By ABC Following Their Affair Scandal?

If a new report from Us Weekly is accurate, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes could be done at Good Morning America following their very public affair scandal.

The couple were pulled off the air in early December after they were photographed having a romantic getaway over the Thanksgiving holiday. What made the situation more awkward is the two were married to other people. At first, ABC leaned into the heightened attention and executives reportedly called the drama “ratings gold.” However, things quickly went south when Holmes joked about the situation on the air, and allegations of him having a prior co-worker affair began to surface.

After a month of keeping both Holmes and Robach off the air, ABC has reportedly decided to part ways with the anchors, according to multiple sources for Us Weekly. “Amy and T.J are out, a decision has been made,” a source said. “The network is negotiating with them on their exit deals and an announcement.”

Negotiating Holmes and Robach’s exit deals will undoubtedly get messy. Prior to news of their alleged ouster, TMZ reported that the couple have already retained legal counsel and have been preparing to file suit if they’re fired:

We’re told the lawyers will pose this question to ABC … “Has ABC ever used the morals or conduct clause to fire or discipline 2 consenting adults at equal levels when both were white?” The sources go on to say it would be telling if this is the first time ABC invoked the morals clause under these circumstances … with a Black and a White anchor.

The sources go on to say the damages could be enormous if their reputations and careers are ruined as a result of discipline by the network.

Despite their careers potentially going down in flames, the couple have stayed romantically involved and sources recently told PEOPLE that Holmes and Robach are “stronger than ever.”

The National’s Mysterious, Password-Locked Preview Of Their New Album Seems To Hint At Collabs With Taylor Swift And More

Earlier this week, The National sent cryptic postcards to fans in the mail that seemed to tease a new album. Today, January 13, the band got even more mysterious by tweeting the link americanmary.com/lp9 — which we can probably assume means the next album is titled American Mary and is on its way.

The site is password-protected, but luckily, the password, “EVIL FOREBODINGS,” was shared by fans in the replies. It leads to a video of an open book that’s soundtracked by snippets of brief songs. The book reads “LETTER 1,” and it’s addressed to “Mrs. Bridgers, England.” There are also mentions of “Taylor” and “Uncle Sufjan.” It’s believed that Phoebe Bridgers, Sufjan Stevens, and Taylor Swift will be featured on the LP after a leaked tracklist with their names on it circulated. Bridgers will apparently appear on two tracks: “This Isn’t Helping” and “Your Mind Is Not Your Friend.”

Last year, The National debuted three songs live in Spain: “Tropic Morning News (Haversham),” “Grease In Your Hair (Birdie),” and “Bathwater (Mount Auburn).” The former two still remain unreleased, while “Bathwater (Mount Auburn)” ended up being unveiled as “Weird Goodbyes,” a collaboration with Bon Iver. It came out in August following promotional posters all over Brooklyn getting fans excited.

Rudy Giuliani Thinks That The Biden Classified Documents Were… Planted By Obama To Prevent Old Man Joe From Running Again?

If you’re curious as to where Rudy Giuliani’s mind is at as we kick off 2023, and his unintelligible new year message didn’t give you a clue, try watching him interview a couple of camels:

If you’re still wondering whether the new year might bring a more stable mindset to the man once known as America’s Mayor, let us answer that for you in one word: no.

Rudy, who can regularly be heard complaining about how no networks want to have him on as a guest any more — and who has been known to show up for a deposition wearing two watches — actually got an invite to appear on Newsmax. And he made the most of the airtime while speaking with Jenn Pellegrino on Thursday’s “Prime News,” where he questioned the suspicious timing of the growing number of classified documents being found in all sorts of Joe Biden hidey-holes.

Whereas Trump is just outright ‘splaining that while he had the right to keep these documents (after he had declassified them using his mind, of course), Biden does not. Giuliani, meanwhile, seems to have another theory: that the documents were planted — by none other than Barack Obama.

“I think the Democrats are putting this out,” Giuliani said of his theory. “I think — and if I had to guess — Obama is calling the shots. They don’t want [Biden] on the ticket. I mean, first of all, this guy is in danger of falling apart at any minute, meaning the mouth could open and nothing will come out.”

This coming from a man who, just two weeks ago, opened his mouth and nothing actually came out. (And who also seemed confused by what year it was in the same video.)

While there would be far easier ways to convince Biden to not run again in 2024, Giuliani was on a tear; he even went so far as to compare Biden to a “mad dictator.” (This from a man, mind you, who has played sycophant to wannabe mad dictator Trump for decades):

The justification is the FBI is a law enforcement organization that is operated for the benefit of the Democrat Party and Joseph Biden. It’s state police. It’s, in the worst sense, no longer the FBI of old — not all the agents, but the ones at the top that have to do the bidding of a man who has become something closer to [a] mad dictator than president.”

LeBron Unloaded On The Referees For A No-Call At The End Of Regulation Against Dallas: ‘It’s A F*cking Foul’

The Dallas Mavericks picked up a double overtime win in Los Angeles on Thursday night. Thanks to a 35-point triple-double by Luka Doncic, Dallas knocked off the Lakers, 119-115, although it did not come without some controversy. On the final play of regulation, Lakers guard Troy Brown Jr. pulled up from three and got blocked by Tim Hardaway Jr., although Hardaway made contact with Brown’s hand after he got the ball.

As you can see, LeBron James was not happy with the situation, as he immediately went over to the officials and lobbied for them to call a foul that would have sent Brown to the line with a chance to win the game.

“Hardaway Jr. gets a piece of the ball on the closeout and then does make some high-five contact, which is legal and that play was correctly no-called,” Josh Tiven, the crew chief working the game, told a pool reporter.

James, unsurprisingly, disagreed with this assessment. Brown was asked after the game about the no-call, and while he attempted to be a bit more diplomatic in his answer, James spoke up from where he was in the locker room to express his disappointment.

“No, it’s a f*cking foul,” James said. “It’s a foul. No matter what TB says, it’s a f*cking foul.”

James is not the only person who disagreed with the no-call, as Lakers coach Darvin Ham told reporters after the game, “I’m not one to blame the officiating, and I won’t start now. But it just looked clear as day like it was a foul. Maybe I can be wrong. But we were still watching it after the game, and it looked like a foul on his follow-through.”

‘Wednesday’ Season 2: Everything We Know So Far Including Cast, Trailer, & More

Netflix really took its sweet time waiting to announce that its latest hit Wednesday would be getting a second season, but now that we know it’s happening, we can start to piece together what to expect from the quirky teen with an affinity for staring.

Wednesday follows Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Adams, the teen from a kooky family who deals with the trials and tribulations of being the weird girl at an even weirder school school. Growing up is hard! But it makes for some entertaining shows, which is why fans have watched nearly 16.8 billion minutes of the show. If you’re keeping track, that’s more than Ozark, but less than Stranger Things season four…for now.

As for what to expect from season two, we don’t have any plot info yet, but Ortega has expressed an interest in exploring the anti-hero narrative that follows the troubled teen. She told ET last year, “I kinda want [Wednesday] to be darker. I want her to get more in the nitty-gritty of things and not play things so safe,” she explained. “I want to continue down an anti-hero stream instead of that typical hero.” Season one found Wednesday trying to fit in with her peers, so there could definitely be some more self-reflection come season two.

The first season starred Ortega alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, Gwendoline Christie, Jamie McShane, Fred Armisen, and Christina Ricci. There have been no casting updates as of late, but it seems pretty likely that some new characters will enter the mix in the second season, especially now that this show has been watched by most of the world.

According to the castle where the Nevermore scenes were filmed, filming took about eight months, which means any sort of 2023 premiere for the upcoming season is pretty unlikely, so we are looking at maybe spring or summer 2024 for the next season. It seems like a long time, but hey, 2024 will be a great year for TV!

Since production hasn’t begun yet, we have no new footage and probably won’t for a while. But Netflix did put together a nice little season two announcement video, so hopefully, that will hold you over for a year or so. But at least we know it’s happening eventually!

The Amy Winehouse Biopic ‘Back To Black’ Has Its Leading Lady: ‘Barbie’ Actress Marisa Abela, Who Looks The Part In A Promo Photo

Amy Winehouse’s biopic Back To Black will begin filming this month. Since we reported that a new film about the singer’s life was in the works back in July 2022, the public has only been privy to little details. Those details were simply the names of the technical crew behind its creation, including director Sam Taylor-Johnson (50 Shades Of Gray and Nowhere Boy), writer Matt Greenhalgh, and producers Studiocanal, Alison Owen, Debra Hayward, and Tracey Seaward.

However, now thanks to Variety, we can share that British actress Marisa Abela (Barbie and HBO’s series Industry) has been cast to play for Grammy-winning vocalist. While music superstar Adele has been highly vocal about Winehouse’s influence on her music, even attributing her massive success to the groundwork laid down by Winehouse in crossing over from London to the American music mark, the team behind the film decided that a non-musician lead would be best.

In the promotional image of Abela in the role, she embodies the late singer’s signature look, beehive hair, tattoos, and all.

Variety also revealed that the biopic has the “full support” of Winehouse’s former label and The Amy Winehouse Estate. So, music clearance won’t be a problem as the film is set to center around her early career before her tragic death after years of addiction, similar to the 2015 documentary Amy. Focus Features and Monumental Pictures are also now listed as partners in the project.
