One Of Lil Wayne’s Signature Hits Has Become His First Song To Be Certified Diamond

One of Lil Wayne‘s signature hits has become his first song to be certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). A Diamond certification denotes over 10 million units sold. Wayne’s 2008 hit “Lollipop” featuring Static Major reached that milestone today, thanks in large part to a digital resurgence in the past two years. It was actually certified both Gold and Platinum (8x) on January 23, 2020 (Certification is not automatic; for an award to be made, the record label must first request certification, which Cash Money and Republic Records did, 12 years after the song’s release).

“Lollipop” recently became the subject of some controversy when it was falsely reported that Wayne denied a request to sample the hit by Atlanta rapper Latto. The report — which came from a parody account — likely arose as a result of Latto’s ongoing feud with Lil Wayne labelmate Nicki Minaj. However, Latto herself debunked the rumor on Twitter, joking, “POV: u don’t even have a song sampling lollipop.”

Meanwhile, another Wayne smash from the same album (Tha Carter III) popped up earlier this week in a cringe-worthy TikTok posted by a Florida Police department. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office used “A Milli” to soundtrack a drug bust video on the app, leading to ridicule on Twitter.

NBA Power Rankings Week 8: Wait, Are The Nets Good?

It’s been a … let’s call it interesting few months for the Brooklyn Nets. In late June, Kevin Durant requested a trade from Brooklyn and, along the way, he reportedly pushed for the firing of both the team’s head coach and general manager. Durant eventually withdrew his trade demand, and a few weeks into the season, that head coach, Steve Nash, parted ways with the team. There’s the Kyrie Irving suspension, the ongoing saga of Ben Simmons, and all of the twisting winds in Brooklyn. There was an overall lack of faith in Brooklyn as an on-court threat as well, and the Nets started the season at 1-5 and heading into Thanksgiving with a record below .500 in the suddenly deep Eastern Conference.

Then, the Nets started winning.

Brooklyn is 8-1 in the last nine games, landing in the top-4 of the Eastern Conference as a result. It isn’t as if the Nets have a huge cushion above the rest of the pack in the East, and Brooklyn did have a soft schedule in stretch, including a seven-game homestand against less than stellar competition. Still, it’s hard to fake eight wins over nine games, and the Nets still have Durant and Irving to make things easier on the offensive end of the floor.

Broadly speaking, the Nets aren’t completely lighting up the scoreboard, scoring 113.5 points per 100 possessions for the season. That falls below the elite tier, but Brooklyn does have the bones of a fantastic offense and, for all of his other challenges, Irving is a tremendously effective player to go along with an MVP-caliber start from Durant. In the last nine games, Brooklyn is scoring 1.16 points per possession, even with a game in which the Nets punted from a roster perspective in Indiana. Despite horrific rebounding numbers, the Nets remain competitive on the defensive end.

It is far too early to suggest that Brooklyn is jumping back into the contender category, especially with Simmons still working his way back into form. Having Durant and, to a lesser extent, Irving around does give you a puncher’s chance, though, and neither star is even approaching career-norm levels from three-point distance this season.

How good are the Nets? We’ll see, and we’ll also see where they slot in this week’s DIME power rankings. Let’s go.

1. Boston Celtics (22-7, Last week — 1st)

Boston lost two games in a row for the first time all season, but that wasn’t enough to shift the top spot. The Celtics bookended those losses with a dominant road win in Phoenix and a wild one in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening. In simple terms, Boston still has the best overall profile in the league this season.

2. Milwaukee Bucks (20-7, Last week — 2nd)

As we’ll touch on later, the Bucks strangely lost to Houston this week, and that isn’t a fantastic datapoint. Milwaukee is still 8-2 in the last ten games with a road win over Dallas and a very decisive home win over Golden State on Tuesday. Considering Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday, and Khris Middleton have played only 69 total minutes this season, the Bucks should be feeling good.

3. Memphis Grizzlies (18-9, Last week — 5th)

Memphis has the longest active winning streak in the league and have hammered opponents by 13.8 points per 100 possessions in those wins. Most of the damage came during an extended homestand, but Desmond Bane is out and Memphis continues to roll.

4. New Orleans Pelicans (18-9, Last week — 3rd)

A week after we touched on the Pelicans’ leap, New Orleans swept Phoenix in impressive fashion. The Pelicans technically drop in the rankings after a weird loss to Utah on Tuesday, but New Orleans is playing at a contender level.

5. Brooklyn Nets (17-12, Last week — 10th)

Can the Nets keep rolling? Brooklyn is off until Friday before road games in Toronto and Detroit. That seems manageable.

6. Denver Nuggets (16-10, Last week — 12th)

Denver had only two games between last week’s rankings and this week’s rankings. The Nuggets won both and defeated Portland on the road and Utah at home. Nikola Jokic scored 64 points, grabbed 22 rebounds, and generated 23 assists in those two games. He’s pretty good.

7. Cleveland Cavaliers (17-11, Last week — 6th)

There is no reason to panic, but the Cavs had a couple of not-so-great losses this week. Cleveland lost at home to Sacramento and then dropped a game to the previously scuffling Spurs. The Cavs do have an intriguing road test against Dallas on Wednesday.

8. Philadelphia 76ers (15-12, Last week — 13th)

After a three-game losing streak to end the previous week, the Sixers won three straight. All three wins came in favorable situations at home, but the wins still count. Also, Joel Embiid is on a heck of a run, averaging 37.9 points per game in his last ten appearances.

9. L.A. Clippers (16-13, Last week — 9th)

The Clippers were on track to dip a little bit in the rankings until Monday. L.A. then beat Boston by 20 points and, more importantly, Kawhi Leonard looked like Kawhi Leonard. He had 25 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in 29 minutes, and everything changes for the Clippers if he’s right.

10. Golden State Warriors (14-14, Last week — 8th)

It’s fairly weird that Golden State dropped this week after the Warriors beat the Celtics by double figures. The rest of the week wasn’t good for the Warriors, though, and Golden State is just 2-12 on the road. That is a staggering figure.

11. Dallas Mavericks (14-13, Last week — 11th)

If you needed a reminder that the Mavericks are built entirely around Luka Doncic, look no further than what happened on Saturday. Dallas gave up 144 (!) points to the Bulls and lost by a million without Doncic. We can safely ignore that result, but the Mavericks are on the knife’s edge sometimes.

12. Phoenix Suns (16-12, Last week — 4th)

Phoenix is suddenly 1-6 in the last seven games and the only win came against San Antonio. Granted, Devin Booker missed the last two games, but the Suns looked awful in a loss to Houston on Tuesday and things are in flux.

13. New York Knicks (14-13, Last week — 20th)

It’s been a very nice 10-day period for the Knicks. That includes a four-game winning streak and Julius Randle getting right with at least 27 points in the last three games. New York benefitted from extremely poor opponent shooting (22.1 percent from three), but the Knicks have a 94.4 defensive rating in those four contests. That’ll work.

14. Portland Trail Blazers (15-12, Last week — 16th)

The Blazers were only one point away from a five-game winning streak. Portland suffered a one-point loss to Denver, but the Blazers bounced back with a two-game sweep of Minnesota. Damian Lillard has 36-plus points in three straight games and the team still boasts a top-10 offense.

15. Sacramento Kings (14-12, Last week — 7th)

The Kings reached lofty heights a week ago and had a bit of a reckoning at 1-3 this week. The three losses were all on the road against solid-or-better teams, but Sacramento has two more games to finish the lengthy, six-game trip.

16. Los Angeles Lakers (11-16, Last week — 15th)

Los Angeles might be too high here when looking at win-loss record and recent play. After all, the Lakers are 1-4 in the last five games. Those losses came exclusively against quality opponents, with two in overtime, and it is easy to be more encouraged by the Lakers now than in previous weeks.

17. Minnesota Timberwolves (13-14, Last week — 21st)

On the bright side, D’Angelo Russell seems to be finding some rhythm with 26.4 points on nearly 58 percent shooting in December. He needs to be rolling for Minnesota to be what it can be on offense, but Karl-Anthony Towns is out for a few more weeks and Minnesota just got mini-swept by Portland.

18. Utah Jazz (16-14, Last week — 19th)

Trying to figure out what Utah is right now is exceptionally difficult. The Jazz have clearly flattened out after the hot start, but Utah beat up on New Orleans on Tuesday and beat Golden State earlier in the week. The trouble is that Utah is giving up more than 1.16 points per possession in the last 17 games while going just 6-11.

19. Toronto Raptors (13-14, Last week — 14th)

Even when it comes on the road in a baseball-style miniseries, there has to be some punishment for losing twice in a row to Orlando. The Raptors are now 1-9 in their last 10 games on the road, which is gross, and Toronto’s offense is thoroughly uninspiring (to be kind) in half-court settings. They are weird enough to overcome those issues, but the vibes are not immaculate.

20. Miami Heat (13-15, Last week — 23rd)

Jimmy Butler is back and playing, but the Heat only rise in the rankings this week because of the struggles of other teams. Miami lost at home to San Antonio (yikes) this week and it’s one step forward and one step back for the Heat right now. They did manage to win despite scoring 87 points in Indianapolis on Monday, but that was another result that doesn’t inspire a ton of joy.

21. Atlanta Hawks (14-14, Last week — 22nd)

Atlanta’s recent numbers look worse than they probably after a 25-point beatdown at the hands of the Grizzlies on Monday. The Hawks were without their top five players in that game, so it’s one to write off, but Atlanta is still just 3-7 in the last ten games amid mounting injury concerns. John Collins and Dejounte Murray should be back in the relatively near future, but the Hawks also need to take advantage of a soft upcoming schedule between now and Christmas.

22. Indiana Pacers (14-14, Last week — 18th)

It’s not a huge shock that the Pacers have leveled off, but they’ve leveled off. Indiana is 4-8 in the last 12 games and, over that sample, the Pacers are dead-last in the NBA in defensive rebound rate and total rebound rate. That doesn’t explain everything, as Indiana is also scoring only 1.08 points per possession, but it would be helpful to avoid being bludgeoned in the possession battle.

23. Chicago Bulls (11-15, Last week — 25th)

Chicago’s loss in Atlanta was wild on Sunday, and that’s a game that just happens sometimes. Still, the Bulls have been horrific in the clutch this season, and that explains what is essentially a dead-even point differential compared to an 11-15 record. DeMar DeRozan is holding up his end of the bargain, but he hasn’t been able to carry the offense to even league-average levels.

24. Oklahoma City Thunder (11-16, Last week — 17th)

OKC jumped up the rankings last week with good reason, and this is a bit of a course correction. There is nothing wrong with the Thunder losing road games to the Grizzlies, Cavaliers, and Mavericks. It’s still a three-game losing streak and an 11-16 record, but it’s fine. Really, it is.

25. Houston Rockets (9-18, Last week — 26th)

The Rockets just beat the Bucks and Suns in consecutive games. Yes, Khris Middleton left the game early for Milwaukee and Devin Booker didn’t play for Phoenix. But, I mean, the Rockets just beat the Bucks and Suns in consecutive games.

26. Orlando Magic (8-20, Last week — 29th)

After nine straight defeats, Orlando shot the heck out of the ball this week and picked up three wins in a row. The Magic have a chance to keep that going against the scuffling Hawks on Wednesday, but it was the best stretch in recent vintage for Orlando.

27. San Antonio Spurs (9-18, Last week — 30th)

It was truly dire for the Spurs a week ago after 11 straight losses. Then, San Antonio had three full days off to regroup and came out and won three games in a row. That doesn’t mean everything is great for the Spurs now, but it’s a much better feeling despite the NBA’s worst point differential.

28. Washington Wizards (11-17, Last week — 24th)

Only four weeks after it seemed like Washington could be enjoying a fun season, the wheels have come off. The Wizards have lost seven in a row and 10 of the last 11 games, posting the worst record in the NBA since Nov. 23. Washington shouldn’t be this bad, just as the Wizards shouldn’t be as good as they were early on, but the harsh dip leads to a big drop here.

29. Charlotte Hornets (7-20, Last week — 27th)

Charlotte does have an excuse with LaMelo Ball appearing in only three games. With that said, the Hornets have been brutally hideous. Charlotte has the worst offensive rating (107.0) in the NBA, and the Hornets are on an ugly, five-game losing streak.

30. Detroit Pistons (7-22, Last week — 28th)

Cade Cunningham is officially out for the season and the Pistons have the worst record in the NBA. Detroit seems destined for a premium share of ping-pong balls, but perhaps the most interesting part of the calculus is whether the Pistons will trade the red-hot Bojan Bogdanovic, who is averaging 21 points per game on 65.8 percent true shooting this season.

Diddy And PartyNextDoor’s Racy ‘Sex In The Porsche’ Couples Luxury And Intimacy At High Speeds

Amid a controversial news cycle over the past week, Diddy is still teasing his upcoming R&B album. Today, he dropped a steamy new collaboration with PartyNextDoor called “Sex In The Porsche.” The song is filled with raunchy car metaphors alluding to lavish sex.

“Sex in the Porsche / Your legs like the Tesla, the doors / I need her naked, wipe me down / Super wet, super nasty,” sings Party on the song’s chorus.

On Diddy’s verse, he reminds everyone that he’s the king of luxury, as he raps, “I invented champagne makin’ love in the rain / No way out this, might be the last train / Showed her shit she never could see / She think she dreamin’, I had to tell her to breathe.”

According to a press release, Diddy’s upcoming album is set to arrive at the top of 2023, and will drop on his new label, Love Records. The news arrives after Diddy announced the birth of his seventh child, Love Sean Combs, via Twitter.

TMZ reported that the mother of his baby is a 28-year-old cybersecurity specialist named Dana Tran. This came as a surprise to several people, however, both his rumored girlfriend, Yung Miami of City Girls, as well as Diddy himself, dismissed rumors that he had only been seeing Miami on the side of another woman.

“@yungmiami305 is not my side chick,” said Diddy in a tweet. “Never has been, never will be. She’s very important and special to me, and I don’t play about my Shawty Wop. I don’t discuss things on the internet and I will not start today.”

Meghann Fahy Offered Her Insight Into Daphne’s Motives During ‘The White Lotus’ Finale Scene With Ethan

Warning: The White Lotus spoilers ahead

Even though season two of The White Lotus featured a handful of strange characters, there was nobody quite as baffling as Meghann Fahy’s Daphne. At first, Daphne came off as an ignorant housewife, but as their vacation progressed, it became clear that Daphne might be the only character who is in control of her own narrative. Plus, she has amazing swimsuits.

“I think that her manipulation isn’t an evil one,” Fahy recently told Variety. “I think she’s empathetic in a way that’s kind of surprising.” Daphne’s pivotal moment came in the finale when Ethan confronted her about their spouse’s alleged hookup. After careful deliberation, Daphne guides Ethan to a nearby island, though it’s unclear what went on there.

Of course, we could assume the two did something, but we will likely never know. But Fahy has a thoughtful explanation of what went down:

I definitely think something happened. I don’t know what exactly happened, but I do know that it was something. Honestly, in that moment, I think Daphne just saw this broken man and wanted to do something to make him feel more empowered in her own strange way. I really don’t think that she led him there to get back at Cameron or Harper. Someone said something really interesting the other day, which was like, do you think that part of Daphne’s sadness comes from her betrayal from Harper? I was like, totally.

I think she’s been through this with Cameron who knows how many times, but I think she really thought that Harper was maybe her friend, or wanted her to be. She has that vulnerable moment in Episode 3 where they’re in Noto, and she talks about how she has a hard time keeping female friends and stuff. So, I do think that was part of the experience of it but yeah, I don’t know that I can say exactly what happened, but I think definitely something sexual for sure.

Even though Fahy doesn’t think that Daphne’s motives were malicious, she does seem to think that Daphne was attempting to take things into her own hands after feeling betrayed by not only her husband but also by her new friend Harper. Now they will never watch Ted Lasso together.

The good news is that both couples seemed to have enjoyed their chaotic vacation! At least they made it out alive, anyway.

Billie Eilish Brought Out Labrinth As A Special Guest At Her LA Show, Sparking More ‘Euphoria’ Rumors

Last night, Billie Eilish took the stage at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum — the first of her three shows there this week. An encore of Eilish’s Happier Than Ever:The World Tour, she played selections from her first two albums and had some extra surprises for fans in the audience.

One of these was Labrinth, an English R&B singer known for his work on the soundtrack of HBO’s Euphoria, showing up as a special guest. The two went on to perform a duet of “I’ve Never Felt So Alone” (which appears on the TV series) and “Mount Everest” from his 2019 album, Imagination & The Misfit Kid.

Fans online loved Labrinth and Eilish performing together. “THIS WAS MYYYY SONG AFTER EUPHORIA SEASON 1 I wanted him to release a full version so bad,” one person replied on Twitter.

In recent months, there have been rumors about Eilish eventually appearing in Euphoria. She appeared to deny it during this year’s Vanity Fair video interview. “Oh, that I’m in the third season of Euphoria? That’s not true,” she said. “I’d like to be! Euphoria is f*ckin’ fire.” It’s up to fans whether Labrinth showing up adds more credibility to it or is simply Eilish just poking fun with a musical friend.

Ghostface Goes To New York (And Hunts Jenna Ortega) In The ‘Scream VI’ Teaser Trailer

It’s been too long since an iconic horror movie villain went to New York City. There’s Jason in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, the Gremlins in Gremlins 2: The New Batch, and Kevin in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (only a psychopath could come up with those traps). The latest addition to the canon: Ghostface.

In Scream VI, the four survivors from 2022’s Scream — which frustratingly wasn’t called Scream 5, or 5ream — “leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter,” according to the plot synopsis. They now live in NYC, where Ghostface stalks them on the subway. I wonder if he roots for the Mets or Yankees (it’s the Yankees, because he’s evil).

You can watch the teaser trailer above.

Jenna Ortega, who had a year to remember with roles in X and Wednesday, returns as Tara Carpenter. The rest of the cast includes Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Samara Weaving, Hayden Panettiere, and Courteney Cox, but not Neve Campbell, who said that she “did not feel that what I was being offered equated to the value that I bring to this franchise, and have brought to this franchise.”

Scream VI, which is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett and written by James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick, opens on March 10, 2023.

Glen Powell Reveals The ‘Douchebag’ Advice That Tom Cruise Gave Him While Making ‘Top Gun: Maverick’

Working with Tom Cruise has its (cake-related) perks. But in order to get the coveted gift, he expects his co-stars to be douchebags, not p*ssies.

Top Gun: Maverick star Glenn Powell revealed the d-bag advice that Cruise gave him while speaking to Glass Onion: A Knives Out Story actress Kate Hudson as part of Variety‘s “Actors on Actors” series. “Sometimes you can fall into the trap of wanting to be liked on camera,” the Everybody Wants Some!! hunk said. “And in a movie like this, where you know there’s going to be a lot of eyes on it, you don’t want to be Draco Malfoy. But Tom gave me this advice: ‘For the ending to work, you have to completely lean into that. Everybody else in the movie is questioning their own ability. You’re the only guy that’s not questioning it. So if there’s any sort of apology in anything you say, the movie doesn’t work. Lean into the douchebaggery of it all.’”

This is good advice for starring in Top Gun: Maverick, and working at Hollister.

Powell also called Cruise’s love of flying “infectious. He’ll fly on the set in his P-51, this old World War II plane. It’s that reality-distortion field where he can convince you that anything is possible. He goes to set like it’s his first day, every day. He’s talking about lenses. And he would text me at night about a scene that I was shooting the next day.” Texting a co-worker at night? When they’re off the clock? That’s cake worthy.

SZA’s ‘SOS’ Is A Heartbreaking Reminder That Our Fears Never Go Away

The RX is Uproxx Music’s stamp of approval for the best albums, songs, and music stories throughout the year. Inclusion in this category is the highest distinction we can bestow, and signals the most important music being released throughout the year. The RX is the music you need, right now.

On her debut album, CTRL, SZA established herself as a household name by way of spellbinding melodies and relatable words. The then 20-something R&B songstress shared poignant accounts of body dysmorphia, heartbreak, loneliness, and growing older. Now, in her early 30s, the old soul we’ve come to know and love reels over a beautiful-yet-cruel existence, accepting the painful wisdom that comes with age. While SZA remains on a spiritual transformation, her new album, SOS serves as a reminder that insecurities, like the ones she sang about on CTRL will persist, no matter how far along you are on your journey. At 23 tracks, it’s not as cohesive as its predecessor, but SOS still is a vital chapter in the SZA universe.

The looseness of SOS allows the album to breathe a little more freely. It opens on its title track, on which SZA addresses plastic surgery rumors (“That ass so fat, it look natural, it’s not”), disavows trifling men (“Punk ass tried to replace me, but the stakes is too high”), and announces that she’s back, and presumably better than ever (“This ain’t no warnin’ shot, case all you hoes forgot.”) While the intro seems to establish the narrative that SZA is now a healed woman, it leads into a collection of stories which see her both regress and grow, and regress and grow again.

On SOS, SZA presents us with a unique and rather polarizing set of coping mechanisms, from tapping into feelings of codependency, fantasizing about killing her ex, and sleeping with other men, for the sole purpose of forgetting one specific man. Her journey manifests by way of expressing herself through her signature brand of R&B with a rap flow, as well as by way of showing her rap chops, spitting rhymes about blocking “your favorite rapper” and going ghost on “your favorite athlete,” as she struggles to move on.

Old habits die hard as SZA experiences the stages of grief, in no particular order. She hasn’t been linked to a significant other since CTRL, however, the overall narrative of the album seems to center around her dealing with a breakup. SZA demonstrates a raw sense of self-awareness, as she accepts blame for the relationship’s demise, but also finds herself in denial that the relationship is over, expressing desperation and longing to mend things.

Songs like “Conceited” and “Far” offer fans a glimmer of hope, as SZA appears to find solace in her own company, despite having just poured her heart out over her ex in the previous tracks. But she also quickly becomes aware of the danger of being alone with her thoughts for too long. On one of the album’s more vulnerable tracks, “Special,” she puts a laundry list of insecurities on display on what feels like a modern-age update of Radiohead’s “Creep.”

The previously released tracks, including “Shirt,” “I Hate U,” and “Good Days,” have already been known and loved by fans for almost two years. While they may feel weirdly-placed on the album, they are still vital parts to the overall narrative of grief and emotional recovery.

Despite having been released two years ago, “Good Days” makes for a solid penultimate track, expressing a hopeful outlook for the future the amid emotional turmoil she just sang of for the past hour. “All the while / I await my armored fate with a smile / I still wanna try / I still believe in good days,” SZA sings on the chorus of the therapeutic self-help anthem.

This pattern of seemingly letting go, only to tap back into feelings of insecurity continues throughout the entirety of the album, but by the end, the listener is introduced to a more affirmed, principled SZA.

SOS is SZA’s riskiest work to date. Dropping an album with 23 tracks in the age of streaming is always daunting, but SZA is never one to shy away from any emotion. Sure, the tracklist could use a slight trim, and while the album’s narrative is less structured than that of CTRL, the order of tracklist and each song’s individual message are reflective of a non-linear healing journey everyone must embark at some point in their lives.

SOS begs the question, has SZA healed since inviting us into the rocky, uncertain world of CTRL? But perhaps a better question to ask oneself may be, is anyone ever really fully healed from their traumas? It’s a painful reminder that our shortcomings and our insecurities will always make themselves known. But it also shows listeners that a now older and wiser SZA will always emerge strong through heartbreak and fear.

Megan Thee Stallion Confirmed She And Tory Lanez Were In A Relationship And Explained Why She Previously Denied It

This past April, Megan Thee Stallion sat down for an interview with Gayle King about the alleged Tory Lanez shooting. King asked Megan if she was in a relationship with Tory at the time, as Lanez had claimed, and she responded simply, “I didn’t have a sexual relationship with Tory.”

Now, though, Lanez’s assault trial has started, which has brought to light the fact that Meg’s denial wasn’t true. On December 12, in an opening statement, prosecutor Alexander Bott said the two were in fact romantically involved. When Megan took the stand yesterday (December 13), she confirmed she in fact did have an intimate but non-exclusive relationship with Lanez (as NPR reports). Meg said she hid the relationship from Kelsey Harris, who was with them at the time of the alleged shooting, since Harris had a “crush on” Lanez.

Meg was asked she hadn’t previously revealed the nature of her and Lanez’s relationship and she said she was embarrassed “because it’s disgusting at this point.” She continued, “How could I share my body with someone who could do this to me?”

The fight that apparently led to Meg being shot supposedly began when Lanez tried to pit Meg and Harris against each other, by hinting at the relationship and calling them “b*tches and hoes.”

Megan Thee Stallion Wishes Tory Lanez ‘Would Have Just Shot And Killed’ Her, She Said During Her Emotional Testimony

Yesterday (December 13) was emotional for Megan Thee Stallion, as she took the stand in Los Angeles Superior Court and testified as part of the Tory Lanez assault trial, stemming from when he allegedly shot her in the foot back in 2020. Megan has discussed that night previously, but in court, she got more publicly vulnerable about it than ever before.

With her “voice breaking” (as NPR reports), Meg said of how the incident has impacted her mental health, “I can’t even be happy. I can’t hold conversations with people for a long time. I don’t feel like I want to be on this earth. I wish he would have just shot and killed me, if I knew I would have to go through this torture.”

As for how she felt in the immediate aftermath of being shot, she revealed, “I felt shocked. I felt hurt. I wasn’t sure if this was really happening. I looked at my feet, I saw the blood, and I fell to the ground.”

Of the more long-term effects the situation had, Meg lamented, “This situation has only been worse for me and it has only made him more famous. Because I was shot, I’ve been turned into some kind of villain, and he’s the victim. This has messed up my whole life… This whole situation in the industry is like a big boy’s club… I’m telling on one of y’all friends, now you’re all about to hate me.”
