Selena Gomez Recreates Her Iconic ‘Crazy Hat’ Song From ‘Wizards Of Waverly Place’ In A Adorable TikTok Video

Nostalgia alert! In a clip shared to TikTok, Selena Gomez recreated her iconic “Crazy, Funky, Junky Hat” song from Disney’s Wizards Of Waverly Place.

Gomez and her friend, IG model, and influencer Lauren Wolfe, gave fans a special treat in a clip posted to Wolfe’s TikTok account. The actress and Wolfe showed off their adorable dance moves while lip-singing to the classic track.

“What’s that? A hat? Crazy, funky, junky hat,” Gomez and Wolfe lip-synched. “Overslept, hair unsightly. Trying to look like Keira Knightley. We’ve been there, we’ve done that. We see right through your funky hat.”

The song was initially performed by Gomez’s character on Wizards Of Waverly Place, Alex Russo, alongside her best friend, Harper Finkle, on the fourth episode of the show’s first season, back in 2007. The show followed the Russo family, who were restauranteurs by day, and wizards by night, complete with a lair behind their kitchen.

The Disney channel series was one of the longest-running programs, in the network’s history, with nearly 106 episodes, before going off the air in 20212. Joining them is That’s So Raven, with 100 episodes, and Hannah Montana, with 98.

This past October, the show celebrated its 15th anniversary.

These days you can find Gomez portraying Mabel Mora on Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, where she plays a young artist turned amateur sleuth alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short.

Beyoncé Is Hosting A ‘Club Renaissance’ Secret Show In Los Angeles This Weekend

Forget the visuals, Beyoncé fans are about to have a new obsession over the next couple of days. She’s the latest artist to partner with Amazon Music for a special performance. However, while the Amazon Music Live series has included names like 2 Chainz and Megan Thee Stallion, Queen Bey is apparently looking to do something a little different, inspired by the concept behind her latest album, Renaissance.

Since the album takes inspiration from the underground club scene of the late ’70s and ’80s that spawned the electronic dance music movement, Beyoncé will be hosting a Club Renaissance event in Los Angeles this Saturday, December 17, and Sunday, December 18. And like the old raves that influenced her house-and-techno-tinged album, the location will be kept a closely guarded secret. It’s a 21+ event (sorry, Blue Ivy, it’s past your bedtime) and the non-transferrable tickets will be limited to one per person.

While details are secretive, there may be a possibility to get a preview of the rumored stadium tour that Bey’s supposedly been preparing for. Among the rumors are reports that she’s been requiring her crew to forego alcohol and do periodic check-ins to ensure a safe work environment. Since Club Renaissance is an Amazon Music event, though, don’t be surprised if at least one of the performances live streams on the app.

Robert Williams Will Make His Season Debut For The Celtics On Friday Against The Magic

The Boston Celtics running out to the best record in the NBA through 29 games at 22-7 has been impressive for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that they’ve done so without their All-Defensive Team center Robert Williams.

Williams has been rehabbing from offseason knee surgery to repair a meniscus injury that he played through in Boston’s run to the Finals a year ago. In his stead, the Celtics have leaned on Al Horford (when healthy), backup Luke Kornet, and small-ball lineups with Blake Griffin and Grant Williams acting as the center. However, there’s no question that a healthy Williams makes a huge impact on raising Boston’s ceiling, particularly on the defensive end, and on Thursday some very positive news emerged on his status.

After recently ramping up his work to scrimmages, Williams will be back on court for the Celtics on Friday as they face the Orlando Magic.

We’ll find out what kind of minutes restriction Williams will be on when Joe Mazzulla talks pregame on Friday, but it’s a big boost for a Celtics team that, while still holding the NBA’s best record, has stumbled just a bit recently, going 1-2 to complete their long road trip. Williams’ return should give the Celtics a bit of a jolt that’s always welcome in the doldrums of the regular season, and Mazzulla can start working out his rotations with one of his key players back in the fold.

Kyle Kuzma Got Hit With Tampering Accusations By Other Players For Saying California Has Nice Weather

The latest name to pop up in Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors is Kyle Kuzma, a former Laker who was sent to the Washington Wizards as part of the trade that led to Russell Westbrook heading to L.A. According to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, the Lakers have reached out and expressed interest in a move that would bring Kuzma back to the team where he started his NBA career.

With out of the way, it sure is funny timing that Kuzma tweeted this on Thursday, isn’t it?

Ok, so, it’s not: The Wizards have back-to-back games against the Clippers and Lakers this weekend. But still, the fact that Kuzma sent out a tweet in which he expressed his love for California did not go unnoticed by a pair of NBA players, as Donovan Mitchell and Trae Young — both of whom seem to be very in touch with the latest trade rumors — accused him of tampering.

Kuzma pointed out that it is not tampering to say nice things about the place where he lives.

Of course, none of this is actually tampering. On the year, Kuzma is averaging 21.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 35 minutes per game while shooting a career-high 46.2 percent from the field.

A Nipsey Hussle Class Is Coming To LMU’s College Of Business, Where He Once Taught A Class Himself

There’s no denying how influential Nipsey Hussle was as a rapper and entrepreneur. His life’s legacy was literally defined by giving back to the local economy and the community of Crenshaw that he called home and the surrounding areas. Now, a college-level course called “The Marathon Continues: Building Brand Through Culture” will be taught around, “The art of branding ‘The Marathon Way’” and “Brand building strategies and tactics that are motivated and driven through cultural influence.”

Taught by Nipsey Hussle’s longtime business partner, David Gross, the course is coming to Los Angeles’ Loyola Marymount University School of Business Administration, an institution where Nipsey Hussle himself was once a professor. “The class will focus on Hussle’s genius and authenticity in his approach to business and life,” Gross wrote on Instagram.

Gross also gave some context surrounding the class that he and Hussle taught in the past and how it has led to this new course:

I gotta give flowers to Mitchell Hamilton, a tenured professor and the head of the Marketing Department at Loyola Marymount’s business school. He reached out to me and Nip in 2017 and asked if we’d teach a class at the business school. He gave us carte blanche, with the caveat that we were authentic and didn’t water anything down because we were in a university environment. The class was a hit, and it lead to a second class the following semester. This was Spring of 2019, so we never got to finish the class. Mitch has reached out to me several times in the following years, extending the opportunity to return and teach another class. He always told me I could teach whatever I wanted if it would both challenge and inspire his students….It’s finally time like to go back this Spring to teach a the class that honors Nip’s enormous legacy, and analyzes how he was able to put a dent in the universe by creating the most resonant brand to come out of the culture #TMC

And while a life-sized wax figure of Hussle just debuted in honor of the rapper in Ohio, an academic class about how his business mind works seems to be a far more compelling way spread the gospel of his legacy.

Nipsey Hussle is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Clocking in at just under 48 hours, the Los Angeles to New Orleans route of Amtrak’s Sunset Limited is certainly a marathon and not a sprint. But at some point in your life, it’s worth the time investment for the glimpses of Americana it provides, glimpses that people who don’t travel by train really get to see. Running through Louisiana swamps, on through Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona — sometimes directly through people’s backyards and downtown areas of small-town America — on its way to California from New Orleans, and vice versa.

Be sure to spend some time with your camera and/or a book in the observation car, especially at sunset when passing through the deserts of the southwestern U.S. And you never know who you might meet dining at a communal table in the dining car! — Brett Michael Dykes

‘Yellowjackets’ Has Been Renewed For Season 3 (Three Months Before Season 2 Even Premieres)

Showtime is showing a lot of faith in Yellowjackets. Season two doesn’t premiere until March 26, 2023, but the lost-in-the-woods horror series — with television’s best non-Succession theme song — has already been renewed for season three.

“With Yellowjackets‘ runaway success in season one and the pent-up anticipation for season two, we wanted to maximize the momentum by fast tracking season three now,” Showtime CEO and president Chris McCarthy said in a statement. “The show’s ambition is only exceeded by its execution, and I thank the incredible creative team behind it, including [creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson], Jonathan [Lisco], eOne, and the Showtime team, for turning this into such a success.”

Lyle and Nickerson have previously revealed that they have a five-season plan for the show — but things could change. “I believe we’ve said five seasons earlier in interviews and have regretted it every day since, because people really latched onto that,” Lyle told Vulture. “I think what we’ll say about that is that we have a plan, and we do feel very good about the potential for story moving forward. But we have no interest in beating a dead horse or dragging things out longer than the story dictates.”

Five seasons should be enough to put a Tori Amos song in at least one episode.

Stephen Curry Is Expected To Miss ‘A Few Weeks’ With His Shoulder Injury

The Warriors dropped to 2-13 away from home on Wednesday night, losing to the Pacers in Indianapolis, but more concerning than another road loss was the early exit from Stephen Curry.

The Warriors’ star guard had to leave the game in the third quarter with a left shoulder injury after reaching in for a steal and quickly pulling his arm away, grasping at his shoulder before leaving for the locker room. There was little in the way of an official update on Wednesday night, as Curry and the team awaited Thursday’s MRI to determine the severity of the injury. While it appears he’s avoided a significant injury, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports Curry is expected to miss “a few weeks” with the shoulder.

That timetable means he’s going to miss the Warriors’ game on Christmas Day against Memphis, and likely won’t return until early January, which is a considerable loss for Golden State (and the NBA). Curry has been carrying the Warriors offensively, averaging 30.0 points, 6.8 assists, and 6.6 rebounds per game this season, boasting 50.0/43.4/91.9 shooting splits. Without Curry, the Warriors are going to have to hope that Jordan Poole can regain his form of last year as he figures to get bumped into the starting lineup.

For a team with depth as its biggest issue so far this season, having to navigate a few weeks without Curry will be quite the challenge to even tread water and hang around the West playoff picture, as they currently sit 10th at 14-15.
