Did Taylor Swift Have Another ‘Speak Now’ Easter Egg At 2022 AMAs?

Taylor Swift made a recent appearance at the 2022 American Music Awards over the weekend with a look that got fans talking — for several reasons. Trading in her signature straight hair, Swift opted for large, ’70s-inspired curls reminiscent of her early country career. Many fans believe this was a conscious choice as yet another Easter egg for Speak Now being next in line for her re-recorded albums.

Sure, she might have just released her tenth studio album, Midnights. That hasn’t stopped the pop star from teasing fans about what’s next. In the music video for Swift’s “Bejeweled,” she drops countless hints at Speak Now. An album era that was notoriously light purple, Swift pushes the corresponding color in the elevator. Not only that, but the color palette matches perfectly with her current record sequence.

With thirteen numbers on the elevator, the order ends with a mysterious second purple button. Given Red (Taylor’s Version) and Fearless (Taylor’s Version) are both accounted for at buttons ten and eleven (ahead of Midnights), it seems clear what’s coming next.

Fans also focused on Swift’s earrings from the AMAs, which were a pair of swords — and might be a reference to a lyric from the Speak Now song “Mean.”

Continue scrolling for some fan reactions to Swift’s potential recent round of Easter eggs.

‘Friday’ Star Ice Cube Says He Lost Out On A $9 Million Payday Because Of His Refusal To Get Vaccinated

Last year, Ice Cube reportedly walked away from a $9 million paycheck after refusing to get the COVID vaccine. The rapper/actor was set to star in the comedy Oh Hell No alongside Jack Black, but he wouldn’t comply with protocol that required everyone on the Hawaii film set to be vaccinated. While Cube had promoted mask-wearing all throughout the pandemic, he apparently drew the line at the COVID vaccine, and now, he’s talking about the experience.

While stopping by the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, Cube confirmed that, yes, he did lose out on $9 million for refusing the COVID vaccine. Via Variety:

“I turned down a movie because I didn’t want to get the motherf*cking jab,” Cube said, confirming the Oct. 2021 reports. “I turned down $9 million. I didn’t want get the jab. F*ck that jab. F*ck ya’ll for trying to make me get it. I don’t know how Hollywood feels about me right now.”

However, Cube walked back his “turned down” comments and clarified that the producers decided not to cast him when he wouldn’t get vaccinated.

“Those m*therfuckers didn’t give it to me because I wouldn’t get the shot,” Cube said. “I didn’t turn it down. They just wouldn’t give it to me. The COVID shot, the jab…I didn’t need it. I didn’t catch that shit at all. Nothing. F*ck them. I didn’t need that sh*t.”

When asked if the experience has pushed him to start his own independent studio, Cube said. “I’m working on it. I’m hustling. … Got a lot of things up my sleeve.”

Ab-Soul’s ‘Herbert’: All The Info, Including The Release Date, Tracklist, And More

After six years, enigmatic Top Dawg Entertainment rapper Ab-Soul announced he would drop his long-awaited fifth album, Herbert, in December — what a nice way to help fans close out the year.

Probably one of the most mysterious members of the Top Dawg crew, Ab-Soul gets more vulnerable than ever on his upcoming project. After 2016’s Do What Thou Wilt, the rapper uses his forthcoming project to reflect on his career and making music.

According to a recent press statement, this album paints “an intimate portrait of the man behind Ab-Soul” and will trek through his life, past struggles, and journey back into music. The new project references the rapper’s birth name, Herbert Anthony Stevens IV.

Herbert is a deliberately intimate portrait of the man behind Ab-Soul going back to his foundation,” the statement reads. “As noted by the name of the record, leaving the conspiracy theories, he’s known for behind while emphasizing his musicality. After suffering through a series of unspeakable tragedies, Stevens completed the album as a changed man with a new sense of purpose.”

Last week, the Los Angeles rapper released a video for “Gang Nem,” along with releasing two songs earlier this year, including “Hollandaise” in April and “Moonshooter” in September.

So far, the tracklist and features haven’t been revealed yet for the upcoming album.

Herbert is out 12/16 via TDE Records.

Margot Robbie Promises That Her Next Movie Will Be Even More Wild Than ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’

The Wolf of Wall Street is a famously debauched movie. The “What Parents Need to Know” section for the Martin Scorsese-directed film on Common Sense Media includes the words: “graphic sex,” “Quaaludes,” “bloody face-bashing scene,” and the “f-word [is] uttered nearly constantly, as well as almost every other vulgar word in the book.”

It’s a good time.

But Margot Robbie, who played the “hottest blonde ever” in The Wolf of Wall Street, promises that her next movie will be even more wild. “I remember being on set for [The Wolf of Wall Street] and thinking, ‘I’ll never be in a film as crazy as this ever again.’ And then I made Babylon,” she told Empire. “There’s a dizzying amount of debauchery. One of the most disturbing, chaotic scenes I’ve ever witnessed is in this film, and it involves a fight with a snake. I won’t tell you who wins or loses that fight, but trust me, it’s insane.”

I’ll never forget seeing The Wolf of Wall Street in the theater, and during the scene where Robbie appears in a doorway naked, a man seated a few rows behind me yelled to no one and everyone, “Oh my god.” I bet that guy will watch Babylon on opening weekend.

Babylon opens on December 23.

Rick Ross Clowning Crypto ‘Gurus’ In An Old Video Has Aged Really Well, Especially After The FTX Fiasco

The Bitcoin and cryptocurrency market has been taking a massive plunge as of late. Crypto exchange platform FTX — which had endorsement deals with Larry David, Steph Curry, Larry David, and the Miami Heat — filed for bankruptcy this month, making it the largest crypto-related bankruptcy in history. And its founder has allegedly been doing some sketchy things in the wake of it, too.

Naturally, Rick Ross predicted this. Well… sort of.

A viral video of Ross from last May has been making the rounds again, namely because Rozay’s call-outs in it are aging pretty well. “The metaverse, crypto… Y’all getting so much money, where you at? Show us,” Ross says in the clip as he walks around his mansion in a Martha’s Vineyard crew neck and thick gold chains. “And I don’t mean, ‘Oh I’m tryna get money,’ nah. I got a lot of money. I don’t even need that fake money. But show us. Show my homies what the metaverse about.”

To be fair, Ross wanted answers from the crypto community as to why their money-making plans were so sensational and merited his attention. At one point, he emphatically says, “Educate us!” That’s been a sticking point within crypto and NFT communities; it’s hard to wrap your head around the new technology and its accessibility.

Ross went on: “One of y’all big boy crypto dudes, guru crypto picture takers. Step up and say, ‘This what we gon do Rozay!’ Where ya at? Huh? Yeah, everybody giggling… all that fake rich money, where’s it at? Educate us! I know some rich homies who getting money. Bitcoin Rodney. that boy gettin’ real money, but come on man, bring it to the Renzel-verse, man.”

Well whoever is gonna hip Rick Ross on the merits of crypto, it’s not going to be FTX.

Meek Mill’s ‘God Did’ Freestyle Video Marks The Long-Awaited Arrival Of ‘Flamerz 5’

Is this what they’ve been waiting for? Yes, sir. The wait is officially over as rapper Meek Mill dropped his long-awaited mixtape, Flamerz 5. After teasing fans with the snippet early this month, the rapper dropped the official video for his “God Did” freestyle.

Flipping his friend DJ Khaled’s Grammy-nominated single, Meek leaves it all in the booth. In the song, the Philadelphia native reveals the status of his relationship with mentor Jay-Z, the murder of his late friend PnB Rock, and more.

Meek gets straight to it in the first verse of the song. The rapper dismisses rumored beef with Jay-Z in the bar, “Never turned my back on Jigga, and every time he talk, I listen / but I got so much murder on my mind that it be hard to listen.” He doubled down on the fact that his decision to step away from Roc Nation Management did not cause a rife in their relationship.

Nearing the song’s midpoint, Meek opens up about the amount of violence he has had to victim. In his youth witnessing his best friend’s death and recently seeing fellow Philly native PnB Rock gunned down in Los Angeles. Rapping, “Like, what you slidin’ about? / don’t stand for nothin’ then what you dyin’ about / just seen my man died on the Gram, like, what is you cryin’ about,” Meek wants to emphasize most conflicts are connected to ego rather than a noble cause.

Before the record ends, Meek managed to take a dig at Ye (aka Kanye West). On the throwaway stanza, “Make a hundred million dollars and still go get my friends after / and that don’t go for everybody, just the only ones that bend backward for me / I will never sell my soul for money like I’m Kanye,” Meek is having a laugh at the former Yeezy brand owner’s expense.

The visual, directed by Benjamin Carter, is a highlight reel meant to inspire the viewer as it shows the rapper boarding a private plane, flashing wads of cash, and enjoying a meal in a luxurious mansion with his entourage.

Watch the full video above.

Flamerz 5 is out now. Listen to it here.

Meek Mill is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

The ‘Doom Patrol’ Gang Includes Brendan Fraser Unmasked And A Gathering Of Dancing Butts In The Season 4 Trailer

Whew, Doom Patrol turned out to be one of the only safe DC projects (for HBO Max) at Warner Bros. Discovery amid their ongoing programming shuffle. This is marvelous news for not only Brendan Fraser devotees but also lovers of the entire ensemble cast, which (thanks to Diane Guerrero and the show’s marvelous writers) has yielded a timely take on Karens and a flourishing Danny the Street. We’ve already seen a Season 4 teaser, in which Fraser’s Cliff Steele told us that daddy is home, and now, we’re witnessing a bevy of dancing butts in action.

The trailer announces the impending arrival of [likely General] Immortus and a hint that the characters will head back to where they all began. That likely explains why we’re seeing Fraser’s face without the Cliff/Super-Tin Man apparatus, since he’s now essentially a disembodied (and frustrated) brain. Yet Cliff’s exasperation continues, as he mentions to Crazy Jane, “At least you got to have an orgasm before you die.” Feel free to relive that collective pleasure scene again, and here’s more from the longline.

Season four opens with the team unexpectedly traveling to the future to find an unwelcome surprise. Faced with their imminent demise, the Doom Patrol must decide once and for all which is more important: their own happiness or the fate of the world?

Also returning this season: Matt Bomer as Negative Man, April Bowlby as Elasi-Girl, and Jovian Wade as Cyborg, along with Michelle Gomez as Madame Rouge. Hold onto those dancing butts, y’all.

Doom Patrol returns to HBO Max on December 8.

Jimmy Kimmel Proclaims Mike Pence’s Book Tour The ‘Saddest Book Tour Of All Time’

Typically, when a high-ranking politician writes a tell-all memoir about their time in office — particularly during a tenure that puts the person at the center of a seemingly never-ending stream of scandals — it would be making headlines the world over. In the case of Mike Pence’s new book, the eye-rollingly titled So Help Me God, the biggest story seems to be how little interest people have in actually reading it. Jimmy Kimmel went so far as to dub Pence’s promotional blitz for the book “the saddest book tour of all time.” He’s not wrong.

On Monday night, Kimmel shared a clip of Pence talking with Chuck Todd about what the host described as “those precious moments” just before the January 6th insurrection caused a rift between the vice president and his then-boss Donald Trump, who was reportedly totally cool with seeing his second in command be hanged.

Pence — who even Rudy Giuliani recently called a “loser” — shared how on the morning of January 6, 2021, Trump pointed out the window of the White House to the crowd of soon-to-be rioters who were gathering on the Ellipse and told Pence: “Those people love us.” To which Pence responded: “Those people love you.” Trump’s reply, according to Pence: “Well, that’s probably true.” The (hilariously) demoralizing nature of the story, and Pence’s robot-like emotion in retelling it, prompted Kimmel to declare that “this might be the saddest book tour of all time.”

What’s even worse, according to Kimmel, is that “for all the press he’s doing, [Pence’s book] didn’t even make The New York Times Bestseller List.” In fact, the book is so inoffensive that not even Trump has expended any energy on attempting to tear it apart. The former president has had other things on his mind, though — like his recent announcement that he’ll run for president again in 2024 and a weird obsession about the price of turkey.

You can watch the full clip above, beginning around the 5:35 mark.

FTX’s Own Lawyers Blasted Schlubby Crypto Bro Sam Bankman-Fried In Court For Using The Company As His ‘Personal Fiefdom’: A ‘Substantial Amount Of Assets’ Are Missing

As lawyers for the new management of cryptocurrency exchange FTX appeared in bankruptcy court on Tuesday, they painted a grim picture of former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and his rampant mishandling of the exchange that at one point boasted ads featuring the likes of Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen, and Larry David. (All three are currently being sued by FTX customers.)

“Your honor, what we have is a worldwide organization that was run effectively as the personal fiefdom of Sam Bankman-Fried,” James Bromley, counsel to FTX’s new management, argued before the court. According to Bromley, the house of cards fell apart the moment the exchange was wrestled from Bankman-Fried’s control.

Via Yahoo! Finance:

The crypto empire of roughly 130-affiliated companies built by 30-year old Sam Bankman-Fried slid from digital asset powerhouse into bankruptcy in a matter of days earlier this month.

In the hearing, FTX’s legal counsel also described the transition when founder and former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried signed over corporate control of FTX at petition date as an “emperor has no clothes moment.”

According to the Wall Street Journal, lawyers for the new management also informed the court that a “substantial amount” of assets are missing and “may have been stolen as a run on customer deposits and a liquidity crunch precipitated a crisis of leadership and led the firm to collapse.” The legal team raised suspicions about just how those assets seemingly vanished.

“FTX was in the control of inexperienced and unsophisticated individuals, and some or all of them were compromised individuals,” Bromley told the judge.

The bankruptcy proceedings are an attempt by FTX’s new management to “secure customer funds” following the crash. However, the exchange is reportedly still “suffering from cyber attacks,” which has sparked an investigation from the Department of Justice.

‘The White Lotus’ Fans Desparately Want Harper To Accept Reality About Ethan And Their Relationship

As the characters in this season of The White Lotus slowly begin to unravel, it’s clear that Aubrey Plaza’s Harper is not having a lot of fun on her picturesque Italian vacation with her husband’s cocky college roommate. Who would have thought?

After a rowdy night that consisted of Harper’s husband Ethan and his college buddy Cameron doing drugs and getting involved in potential criminal business activities, they decided to top off the night by meeting up with Lucia and Mia, the two Sicilian sex workers originally hired by Michael Imperioli’s character, Dominic. Cameron’s wife Daphne seems to know that her husband is a cheater, she just doesn’t care. Ethan and Harper are a different story.

Ethan ultimately decides against cheating on his wife (who is a lawyer, by the way!), which is probably for the best, but of course, their troubles had already been brewing due to their lack of sexual chemistry while on the trip.

In this week’s episode, Harper is trying to give her increasingly depressed husband a chance to come clean about their escapades the night before, but instead of confronting him, she just stews as any person on vacation would do. Hey, you paid a lot of money to be there, you might as well just pretend things are going great! But many fans do not agree with how she is handling things.

There are only three more episodes of this season, meaning that the tension will have to break at some point. But will there be a happily ever after, or will Harper and Ethan call it quits? Even worse, will she never address anything and be forced into a sexless marriage filled with Ted Lasso reruns? Only time will tell.

The White Lotus airs Sundays at 9 pm on HBO.
