Doja Cat sent the internet into a frenzy earlier this week after her 27th birthday when she asked her followers on Twitter to send her a revealing photo she took during her masquerade-themed party in Los Angeles. In the photo in question, Doja poses with some of her famous friends but while many of the attendees, which included Hailey Bieber, Winnie Harlow, Dreezy, and more, wore some pretty risque ensembles, Doja herself trumps them all by going completely topless.

Among the awed responses were a number of tweets with comments such as “You’re 2 years late but we finally got here.” These, of course, were not-so-subtle references a May 2020 tweet from Doja in which she told followers, “I’ll show you guys my boobs really hard.” There was, however, a catch: Her surprise hit song, “Say So,” needed to go No. 1 on the Hot 100.

It eventually did, but in the aftermath, Doja laughed off her NSFW promise on Instagram Live, saying, “I’m nasty with it. I’m extra nasty with it, with a side of scam scam. I’m on my pirate sh*t right now, man. I’m f*cking ruthless. If I say I’m gonna show boobs, just know, I’m not gonna show boobs. And I’m okay with you guys thinking from now on, when I try to use that trick — which I won’t — if I do, just know motherf*cker, I am not being serious. It’s a lie. You know, what you gonna do?”

To be fair, only the most credulous rubes on the planet could possibly have thought she’d actually follow through, but unfortunately, the world is full of those. Just a couple of weeks later, Doja got thrashed on Twitter when she was accused of participating in racist chat rooms on TinyChat and a very old, experimental song of hers processing her own identity confusion resurfaced. Since then, though, she’s become an even bigger star, as the majority of fans shrugged off the accusations as a case of obvious sour grapes. At least those disappointed suckers got a consolation prize this week — even if it did take a few years to get it.

Harry’s house has instituted a new dress code: no Adidas! In light of that, pop superstar Harry Styles has inadvertently found himself entangled in Kanye West’s antisemitic backlash storm (as Billboard notes).

For months, the heartthrob’s Love On Tour wardrobe has consisted of head-to-ankle Gucci HA HA HA, a collaboration between the fashion house and himself, and a fresh pair of Adidas x Gucci Gazelles. Well, that all changed on Monday night as he opted for a pair of red authentic Vans instead.

Fans immediately took notice when the “As It Was” singer appeared on stage at the Kia Forum in Inglewood. Concertgoers jumped onto social media to thank Styles ,as well as his stylist Harry Lambert, for (presumably) taking a stand against West’s antisemitic comments.

“We see your decision, and it means so much to me and all your other Jewish fans, and those who stand with us against antisemitism in all its forms,” one Twitter user noted. “Harry is wearing vans. Good for him. i believe it’s because he’s boycotting Adidas for continuing to be in partnership with Kanye,” wrote another tweeter.

Although Adidas has since severed ties with West early Tuesday, their delayed response has forced many artists like Styles to distance themselves from the brand.

There is no word on whether or not Styles will laces up his Gazelles at any of his remaining shows now that the brand has formally split from West. Styles has also not specifically addressed the reason for his change in footwear.

Figuring out what is a real problem and what is an overreaction during the early portion of an NBA season can be really hard. Having said that, it certainly does not feel like an overreaction to say that the Los Angeles Lakers are in trouble — the team started the year 0-3 and features the worst offense in the league. While the team’s defense has been exceptional, the team’s shooting woes are well-documented and have been quite the hurdle that they need to overcome.

The easy answer is to say the team needs to do something with Russell Westbrook, whose role on the team has come under scrutiny for some time. But as it turns out, that does not mean the team is looking for a trade right now, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Wojnarowski noted that the more likely option is for Westbrook to come off of the bench, calling the whole thing “inevitable unless his performance changes.”

“The big trades that people want with the Lakers — Westbrook and his $47 million out with those first-round picks the Lakers have in ’27, ’29, all the deals the Lakers didn’t wanna do in the offseason, that’s all that’s there two weeks into the season,” Wojnarowski said. “Teams don’t really get serious about doing deals and maybe pivoting away from trying to be a playoff team or trying to go toward the Lottery in a year where there’s Victor Wembanyama available, they’re not gonna do that until 20 or 30 games into the season. So, all the deals the Lakers didn’t think gave them enough value for trading those picks, they’re all still there — Utah, Indiana, who the Lakers talked with a lot in the offseason, I’m told they’ve not heard from the Lakers yet this season.”

Through three games this season, Westbrook is averaging 10.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 28.7 minutes per game while shooting 28.9 percent from the field and 8.3 percent from three.

The attendance for Karol G‘s concert last night in Fresno went up by one when a baby was born. The Colombian superstar revealed that she visited the new mom and her baby after the show.

Since September, Karol G has been touring the US with her Strip Love Tour. There’s been a few surprise guests at recent shows like Becky G, Ozuna, and Grupo Firme. However, during her concert in Fresno, there was a different kind of surprise guest when a baby was born. In her Instagram stories, Karol G explained that a woman had given birth to a baby in the bathroom of the Save Mart Center.

In her Instagram stories, Karol G also posted a video of herself walking down the hallway of Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno. She can be seen visiting the hospital room of the fan who had the baby. Karol G posted a picture of the fan’s wrist with a hospital bracelet and a bracelet from the Strip Love Tour. She was very happy to report that the new mom and baby were doing fine.

“Anahi, the baby is incredibly healthy and beautiful! Her mommy is too,” Karol G wrote in Spanish. “I’m speechless! Happy, blessed, and grateful for these incredible experiences that God adds to my life. Here I am! Always loyal to your loyalty.”

The next stop of Karol G’s Strip Love Tour is Portland on October 27. She was recently added as a headliner for Calibash 2023 in LA.

One of our favorite international stars? A viral rapper hailing from a small town, Lyssons, in Jamacia’s Esyde — Skillibeng.

Skillibeng is back at UPROXX Studios, and this time instead of breaking down the lyrics to his most viral tracks, he’s giving us a lesson in the Esyde language. The Jamaican rapper has consistently introduced slang from his home country into the mainstream with viral singles, “Whap Whap,” and “Crocodile Teeth,” which later was remixed by fellow Caribbean MC Nicki Minaj. Since his first standout track, 2019’s “Brik Pan Brik,” the rapper has been unashamed at putting Jamaican culture at the forefront. Most recently, he popped up at this summer’s Something In The Water Festival hosted by Pharrell and just this week brought the energy of Jamrock to Drake’s 35th birthday celebration.

In the latest episode of Fresh Pair, Just Blaze and Katty Customs show off a slickly designed pair of Nike Air Force 1s for veteran producer El-P of Company Flow and Run The Jewels. El-P, who was a mainstay of the 1990s New York underground scene and whose career saw a second life when he paired with Killer Mike for an an Adult Swim-sponsored collaboration nearly two decades after his debut with Co. Flow, also broke down one of his biggest musical influences: EPMD, the pioneer early ’90s rap duo comprised of Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith.

“I grew up on them,” he explains. “I grew up on the whole Def Jam era. When I started a record label [Definitive Jux, aka Def Jux], it was an homage to them, which they didn’t that cute at the time. I think a lot of my production style and a lot of my influences came from what they were doing — not only just as rappers, but as a production outfit. If you came up on them, you have a particular sensibility in terms of what funk is and a grimy approach to [making beats].”

Just and El-P go on to reflect on how Erick Sermon’s early production style — sampling upbeat funk records and slowing them down — turned out to have such a lasting impact on hip-hop as a whole, helping to incept the “grimy” style of production that still echoes through rap instrumentals today. “EPMD could be credited [with]… the West Coast evolution, to some degree,” El-P theorized.

The Community movie just took another step towards becoming a reality. During a recent appearance at the Saturn Awards, Joel McHale revealed that the highly anticipated reunion had its first table read, and the usually sarcastic actor was not afraid to admit that he got emotional. The project will make good on the promise of “Six seasons and a movie” while bringing back (most) of the original cast, which is the part that had McHale getting more than just teary-eyed.

“We did that table read during the pandemic and I cried like a baby afterwards and I’m not joking,” McHale told The Wrap before gushing about seeing the old crew:

“Everyone thinks that what I say is joking, but it is like being with — it really is like a family reunion but without a-holes,” he continued. “Because you know, you go to a family [reunion] and you’re like, ‘Ugh, there’s that one cousin of mine. He smells.’ So anyway, we’re really — I can’t wait. Yeah, that’s all I can say.”

As for which members of the cast won’t be returning for the Community movie, Dan Harmon dropped some surprising news on that front. While joking to a New York Comic Con crowd that he doesn’t even know if it’s “legal” for Chevy Chase to come back — or that Chase even would return after being ousted from the show — Harmon revealed that Donald Glover making an appearance is in the mix despite Glover’s busy schedule.

“It would be difficult to really commit to doing this thing without Donald,” Harmon told the NYCC crowd. “So I believe he is coming back.”

The 3-1 Boston Celtics suffered their first loss of the 2022-23 season on Monday when they relinquished an 18-point first-quarter lead and fell to the Chicago Bulls, 120-102. Head coach Joe Mazzulla was ejected, as was fourth-year big man Grant Williams. Early in the fourth quarter, Williams, with Boston trailing 100-82, was called for a blocking foul against Zach LaVine. LaVine lowered his shoulder into Williams’ chest, while Williams was sliding laterally. His response led him to join Mazzulla in the locker room.

The former Tennessee Volunteer clearly took exception to the foul and animatedly hopped up from the floor to express his dismay. While doing so, he made (presumably) incidental contact with an official. As a result of that, along with allegedly “directing inappropriate language toward a game official,” Williams has been suspended without pay for Boston’s next game, which comes Friday at home against the 2-1 Cleveland Cavaliers.

While an early season, one-game absence is largely inconsequential, Williams being sidelined further compromises an already depleted frontcourt for Boston, who are without Robert Williams III and Danilo Gallinari for the time being, both due to varying knee injuries. The Celtics will look to weather his brief suspension in the meantime before he returns to the lineup Sunday at home against the 3-1 Washington Wizards, who sit atop the Southeastern Division to open 2022-23.

Kenan Thompson, the First Man of NBC, has been keeping busy despite the fact that his very wholesome comedy show was canceled earlier this year. Since then, Thompson has landed hosting gigs at the Emmys, the People’s Choice Awards, and he even got his own little star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. All of that plus he is carrying Saturday Night Live on his back. This man really does it all. And now he is leaning into the nostalgia moment and bringing back one of his most iconic characters.

Before he was the “What Up With That” guy on SNL, Thompson starred in the 1997 cult comedy Good Burger alongside Kel Mitchell while they were at the heyday of their All That fame. It followed the slacker duo getting summer jobs at Good Burger (home of the Good Burger) which was being threatened by a newer, fancier burger joint. So like Dodgeball without the wrenches and stuff.

The movie was lost on adults but a hit with kids who grew up watching the weirdos on All That, where Good Burger got its humble beginnings. Now that those millennials are adults and the movie has re-entered the public consciousness after Mitchell and Thompson’s Emmy Award reunion went viral, the cast has confirmed that a sequel is, in fact coming. This is what the internet is for!

The two have been talking about a sequel for a while, but now it’s actually real. Earlier this week, Thompson told Entertainment Tonight, “We’re getting really close on Good Burger 2. It’s gonna happen, and I think it’s gonna happen soon. We’re gonna figure out when the pocket of time will be to shoot it, but it’s gonna happen.” The co-stars also shared a clip on Instagram that confirmed the script.

While no plot details or release date have been announced, this isn’t the first time a Good Burger project has been considered. Paramount has expressed interest in making the sketch into a TV show, and Thompson and Mitchell have returned for one-off sketches, it seems like it’s actually happening this time. Maybe Lorne Michaels will finally give Kenan that vacation time.

At the moment, Tory Lanez is awaiting trial after he allegedly shot Megan Thee Stallion in the foot. Now, we have a clearer picture of what that waiting will look like: Today (October 26), a judge ordered that Lanez be placed on house arrest and electronic monitoring by Friday, CBS News reports.
