Hailey Bieber Took Sisterly Photos With Selena Gomez After Denying Rumors She ‘Stole’ Justin Bieber

It appears there has been yet another failed attempt to pit two women against each other. Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez attended the 2nd Annual Academy Of Motion Pictures Gala in Los Angeles over the weekend, and they posed together for a series of photos. It should be the punctuation mark on years-long speculation that there was a rift between them because of Justin Bieber.

“Plot twist,” photographer Tyrell Hampton captioned one of his photos of Bieber and Gomez on Instagram.

Bieber publicly addressed the faux feud on the September 27 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, who asked Bieber if she was “ever with Justin romantically at the same time as” Gomez.

“No. Not one time,” the 25-year-old model and Rhode founder said. “When him and I ever started hooking up or anything of that sort, he was not ever in a relationship. Ever. At any point. It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship. I would just never do that. I was raised better than that. I’m not interested in doing that, and I never was. I think that there are situations where you can still kind of have back and forth with someone, but even that was not the situation. I can say, period, point blank, I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody. That’s the end of it. And I had been involved with him since I was 18.”

Bieber added, “The timeline also that I think sometimes is in question of us getting back together and getting engaged and him having been spending time with his ex before that … I understand, again, how it looks from the outside, and there’s a lot of perception there, but that was a situation where I know for a fact that it was the right thing for them to close that door. They were not in a relationship at that time. But of course, there’s a very long history there. It’s not my relationship. It has nothing to do with me, so I respect that a lot, but I know that it closed a chapter. I think it was the best thing that could have happened for him to move on and be engaged and get married and move on with his life in that way.”

Bieber noted that it was difficult to publicly dive into this subject because she didn’t want to speak on behalf of her husband or Gomez, “but I just know what was going on when we got back together, and I know what had to happen for that to come back together in a healthy way.”

The Biebers famously first met as teenagers when Hailey’s father, Stephen Baldwin, introduced them backstage at The Today Show 13 years ago. Justin was in an on-and-off again relationship with Gomez from 2010 to 2014. He and Hailey had maintained a close friendship until publicly confirming their romance in late 2015, which was short-lived.

In early 2018, Bieber and Gomez were linked again, but Bieber reconnected with Hailey that June, and they were engaged by July. They have been married since September 2018.

After Bieber’s appearance on Call Her Daddy, Gomez seemingly urged her fans to stop going after her online.

“Some of the things that I don’t even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting,” the singer and Only Murders In The Building actress said on TikTok Live. “And it’s not fair because no one should ever be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen, and all I have to say is it’s incredibly ironic that I would release something that is all about kind words [referring to her new makeup line Rare Beauty’s Kind Words Matte lipstick and lip liners] ’cause that’s exactly what I want. That’s it. If you support Rare, I cannot thank you enough but know that you are also representing what it means, and that is words matter. Truly matter.”

James Corden Has ‘Apologized Profusely’ Over His Balthazar Ban And Is Now Apparently Free To Enjoy Their Egg-Yolk Omelettes Again

James Corden and restaurant owner Keith McNally have already settled their beef. The restauranteur has already reversed his decision less than 24 hours after he announced that Corden is banned from Balthazar, an iconic New York City staple. According to a new Instagram post from McNally, the outgoing late night host personally called him and apologized for how he treated the restaurant staff.

“Having f*cked up myself more than most people, I strongly believe in second chances,” McNally wrote. “So if James Corden lets me host his Late Late Show for 9 months, I’ll immediately rescind his ban from Balthazar. No, of course not. But…. anyone magnanimous enough to apologize to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned from anywhere.”

McNally’s quick turnaround is surprising considering his initial post strongly hinted that Corden is a repeat offender, and therefore, has already been given several chances to not berate the staff. The Balthazar owner originally justified the ban by listing just two examples of Corden’s behavior, with the implication that it was a common occurrence.

“James Corden is a Hugely gifted comedian, but a tiny Cretin of a man,” McNally wrote on Monday. “And the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago. I don’t often 86 a customer, to today I 86’d Corden. It did not make me laugh.”

However, with Corden on notice that his treatment of restaurant workers (and others in the service industry) is now being carefully monitored, maybe he’ll clean up his act. Or he’ll threaten to go back in the kitchen again and cook his own egg yolk omelette, whatever the heck that is.

A Royal Ruckus Over The Next ‘The Crown’ Season Has Reportedly Led Netflix To Pump The Breaks On Harry And Meghan’s Followup

The British Royals have never been particularly thrilled with The Crown. Well, that’s not entirely accurate. Prince Harry actually seemed good with the show and referred to Matt Smith (who initially portrayed the Duke of Edinburgh) as his “granddad.” Those who are still firmly entrenched in The Firm, however, don’t seem to like the show pulling back the curtain, especially when it comes to the Diana years. Last season finally sh*t all over the fairy tale when it came to Prince Charles allegedly growing salty at the public adoration of Diana, and as history tells us, divorce comes this season (which arrives in November), and Diana’s tragic death won’t be too far behind (in Season 6).

Fast forward to recent months, and the Queen Elizabeth II’s death prompted The Crown to pause Season 6 production (for obvious reasons), and then Prince William reportedly raised a fuss over a Season 5 episode that portrays the BBC interview of Diana that led to the airing of Charles and Camilla’s ongoing affair. And now, Deadline reports that Netflix is “rattled” after former Prime Minister John Major lashed out over the season’s premiere episode, which alleges that Charles was openly gripe-filled about his mother still hanging around on the throne in the 1990s. Reportedly, Charles “summoned Major to moan” about his plight, and Major is pushing back. Via Deadline:

Charles then has a clandestine meeting with Major where the royal relates the story of how Edward VII was “kept waiting in the wings” for decades due to the longevity of Queen Victoria’s rule.

Major has insisted that no such conversation about a plot to overthrow the late Queen took place and described it as “malicious nonsense.” Other establishment figures spent the weekend savaging a show that they’ve yet to see, often relying on inaccurate reports of what the Season 5 episodes are said to contain.

Tensions are said to be particularly high on the Netflix end, given that The Crown will shoot Diana’s death in the coming weeks. All things considered, now Deadline reports that Netflix decided that it would be better to push Harry and Meghan Markle’s followup documentary (which was almost guaranteed to ruffle royal feathers and was reportedly due to arrive with followup timing in December) until 2023. Interestingly enough, Deadline adds word from a Netflix spokesperson that “there’s never been any documentary from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed.”

So, will this documentary even see the light of day? No one’s talking, but Netflix’s The Crown returns with Season 5 on November 9.

The Actor Who Plays Criston Cole On ‘House Of The Dragon’ Shared A Hilarious Meme About How Much Everyone Hates Him

House of the Dragon himbo Criston Cole is the least chill character on TV (it was a one-night stand — get over it, bro), but the actor who plays him has a good sense of humor about how much everyone hates him. In an Instagram Story, Fabien Frankel shared a meme that reads “this man is the nastiest skank bitch I’ve ever met. DO NOT TRUST HIM. He is a fugly slut,” along with a photo of the vengeful knight. The House of the Dragon fan who created the meme put it best: “The actor seems like a great person and has been absolutely nailing the role haha. Dislike the character, but respect the actor.”

Frankel also recently spoke to the New York Times, where he was asked if Criston is still in love with Rhaenyra. “First love is first love. I think everyone will always love the person that they fell in love with for the first time,” he said. “From the first time you hear a beautiful piece of music, you’ll always love it, even if you’ve heard it a hundred times, because you remember that first time you heard it. So yeah, he will always love Rhaenyra.” It would be a romantic sentiment — if Criston wasn’t a murderous creep.

The House of the Dragon season finale is this Sunday, October 23.

Tom DeLonge Roasted A Fan’s Wild Suggestion For How Blink-182 Should Have Announced His Return

Blink-182’s iconic lineup of Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker is officially back and fresh off the release of a new single, “Edging.” They’re back on social media, too, and they’ve been having fun on TikTok, like in a new video in which DeLonge eviscerates a fan’s suggestion for how Blink-182 should have announced his return.

The video shows DeLonge reacting to comments on an October 3 Reddit post titled “How would you announce Tom’s return if you were blink’s social/PR manager?.” The post instructs commenters, “Try to genuinely predict and/or make up the most ridiculous method/wording they could announce that Tom is back in the band with.” DeLonge comes across a comment about unveiling the reunion at a football game and says, “Maybe a football game with the Dallas Cowboys? No! I’m not into hanging out with sex addicts,” presumably in reference to voyeurism allegations that were in the news earlier this year.

@blink182

HOW WOULD YOU ANNOUNCE TOM IS BACK?

♬ EDGING – blink-182

The video then cuts to Hoppus looking at the thread and he says, “Huh! I appreciate all your thoughts and all your ideas, but uh… sadly, there is not a chance in Hell Tom DeLonge is welcome back in this band. Not happening.”

It would seem Barker had nothing to add, as he doesn’t appear in the video.

That football comment, by the way, is a wild read, so check it out below.

“10/16/22 – Sunday Night Football. Dallas Cowboys Vs Philadelphia Eagles. It’s the middle of the second quarter. Eagles are winning 7-10. The Cowboys are driving down the field but suddenly the game comes to a halt as all of the lights go out in the stadium. The lights come back on and Travis Barker is at the 50 yard line behind a drum set. He plays an epic 8 minute drum solo while Mark wheels out a cage from the stadium tunnel to the middle of the field. Who’s in the cage? Matt Skiba. Travis finishes his solo and Mark starts a speech thanking Matt for his time in blink-182, but says now he has to be sacrificed. Matt breaks out into a show tune style song begging for his life. Mark considers it, and decides he will let Matt live if they play Bored to Death good enough. The football players are all very confused at this point. Referees hand Mark and Matt their guitars and they rip through bored to death and it’s great. Mark says Matt can live and blink can operate as a 4 piece. In unison everyone in the stadium yells ‘A 4 piece?!’ And immediately after that colorful lights and lasers start flashing all over the stadium as the first chords of Dumpweed are played. Everyone looks up to the sky to see Tom parachuting down to the stadium while playing guitar. The rest of the band joins in and plays Dumpweed as Tom descents into the stadium. Matt even gets to get out of his cage. Tom lands and at the end of the song he and Mark have funny banter. Everyone in the stadium laughs. It’s classic. The new 4 piece blink-182 go on to play a 6 hour concert in the middle of the stadium. After it’s over they all get into a spaceship that says ‘BLINK-182 TOUR COMING THIS SUMMER’ on it. They blast off back to California as Travis Drum Solos from a drum set attached to the side of the spaceship. People are cheering and crying. The football players decide the game isn’t important anymore and they’re just glad everyone had fun. Everyone goes home to buy their tickets to the upcoming summer tour. The world is finally at peace. Tom is back.”

Noel Gallagher Reckons There’s ‘No Point’ To An Oasis Reunion For An Interesting Reason

One of the most talked-about theoretical reunions in all of music is that of Oasis. Despite the famously contentious relationship between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, every now and then, there’s a glimmer of hope that the group will reform. Noel has yet again been asked about it and this time, he had a thought-provoking response.

On an episode of Pub Talk, Noel was asked if an Oasis reunion is in the cards and he quipped (as NME notes), “Uh… would you go on holiday with your ex-missus?”

He continued, “As funny as this sounds, Oasis sell as many records now per year as we did when we were together. We’re as popular now in the eyes of the people as we ever were, and I’m happy with it. If we got back together, it would be a circus and there’s no point. Just leave it as it is. I’m happy, he’s [Liam] doing his thing. He’s still selling out Knebworth. It’s like, mate, good luck to you, do you know what I mean?”

To Noel’s point, in 2020, “Wonderwall” became the first song from the ’90s to top a billion streams on Spotify, so there’s definitely still an interest in the band’s older material today despite a lack of new activity from the group.

(G)I-DLE Goes Blonde As They Pay Homage To Marilyn Monroe In ‘Nxde’

If there are K-Pop groups that can push the boundaries of being unapologetic for being themselves and celebrating womanhood, (G)I-DLE is, by far, most definitely one of them.

Following their chart-topping single “TOMBOY” off their first studio album I Never Die earlier this year, (G)I-DLE makes their comeback with a burlesque twist in their latest single “Nxde.” The alternative pop track “metaphorically expresses the authentic, true self of one as nude” with lyrics full of “sarcasm at the provocative views on the word,” according to a press release from CUBE Entertainment shared yesterday (October 17).

Soyeon, (G)I-DLE’s leader and the mastermind behind “Nxde” dives deeper into the meaning of the song during the album’s showcase.

“Your true self isn’t you with makeup on, but your bareface is,” she begins to explain. “You don’t call it ‘makeup-less face.’ It’s just a face. I think that’s how I saw ‘Nxde.’ You wearing the real version of yourself. So that’s how the song was made, and it’s a song in the alternative pop genre that adopted the melody of ‘Habanera,’ the aria of ‘Carmen‘ the opera.”

The music video compliments the song’s messaging when the members pay homage to Marilyn Monroe becoming blonde bombshells.

“Time-wise, when Marilyn Monroe was active as a star, she was the blonde beauty, being consumed as a sex symbol. The standards change with time. Nowadays, if you carry designer brand bags, then people would judge you by your looks. Each era has a different stereotype. If you look like a nice person, then you’re a nice person. If you don’t look like one, people would think you have quite a temper. To tackle that, we wanted to focus on the time when Marilyn Monroe was active, so all of us decided to go blonde,” Soyeon closes out.

“Nxde” is the first track off of (G)I-DLE’s fifth EP. The new project consists of track written by members Yuqi, Minnie, and Soyeon.

Check the full tracklist to [I love] below.

1. “Nxde”
2. “LOVE”
3. “Change”
4. “Reset”
5. “조각품 (Sculpture)”
6. “DARK (X-file)”

The Broncos Lost In Overtime After Muffing A Punt To Set Up The Chargers Game-Winning Field Goal

NFL fans were treated to another barnburner on Monday evening, with the Denver Broncos taking on the Los Angeles Chargers. Denver’s offense has scuffled throughout the season but, with the Broncos also putting out an elite defensive product on a weekly basis, Russell Wilson and company routine find themselves in close-fought games and this was no different against a division rival. In fact, 60 minutes was not enough to determine the winner, as the Broncos and Chargers headed to overtime in a 16-16 matchup.

In an overtime period that did not feature a single first down for either team, the big swing of the night occurred when the Broncos muffed a punt in their own territory to set up the Chargers in great field position.

It was a terrific play by the Chargers punt coverage to push a blocker into the return man, forcing the muff without committing interference, but it’s also a dreadful play by the Broncos return team to allow that to happen. Moments later, Chargers kicker Dustin Hopkins converted a 39-yard, walk-off field goal, cementing his status as arguably the standout of the night with four field goals despite an ailing leg.

By nature of zero first downs in the entire overtime period, one could guess this was not the most aesthetically pleasing game, and that would be correct. Denver repeatedly had issues on offense, producing fewer than 100 total yards in the second half and cooling off considerably after a strong start. Los Angeles averaged only 3.6 yards per play in their own right, battling offensive line injuries and problems the entire night, and Justin Herbert’s nine-yard pass to set up the game-winning field goal may have been the single biggest play of the evening.

From here, the Broncos will be aiming to right the ship following a 2-4 start, though Denver can at least take solace in a defense that is unquestionably excellent. Los Angeles stole a victory on an off night and, with the victory, the Chargers are 4-2 and hanging around the playoff picture. Still, this was not a game to write home about, and the prime time malaise has been an object of criticism for football fans across the country.

‘Black Adam’ Features So Many Bad Guys Getting Killed That It Had To Go Through Four Passes With The MPAA To Avoid An R-Rating

For comic book movies, an R-rating isn’t necessarily the kiss of death. Deadpool, Logan, and Joker have all leaned into it, and reaped the benefits. (Birds of Prey, meanwhile, struggled at the box office.) The producers of Black Adam — which promises the DCEU’s most powerful, if not necessarily the most do-gooding, sorta-hero — weren’t prepared to go that far. But they went right up to the line.

As per Collider, the comic’s line’s latest blockbuster let star Dwayne Johnson kill so many bad guys that it had to go through four passes with the MPAA before they gave it a family friendly-ish PG-13. Indeed, producer Beau Flynn said they only got the official rating “maybe four or five weeks ago.”

Flynn said they made “a lot of edits,” but added that they “never compromised; we never had to cut a scene.”

Finding that alchemy — being gritty without barring most teens from buying a ticket — was tricky. “We really wanted to make sure that we honored the character of Black Adam,” said producer Hiram Garcia. “One of the things he’s known for is his aggression and violence, and to do a Black Adam movie that didn’t have that just wouldn’t have been authentic. So we always went into this knowing that we were going to push it as far as we did.”

And so instead of a watered-down, nice guy Black Adam, the film “does kill openly a lot of bad guys,” actor Aldis Hodge, who plays Hawkman, told Collider in a separate interview. “I think it’s important to know he’s killing bad guys — for the sake of the people that he’s protecting and for his moral compass. But along with that, it really is a backdrop to the real conversation that we’re having in terms of, what is good and evil? What is right and wrong? And to what extent do you go, to what lengths do you reach to accomplish what you believe is actual justice?”

Besides, those rawer moments may always wind up on the Blu-ray.

Black Adam hits theaters on Oct. 21. You can read Uproxx‘s interview with co-star Pierce Brosnan here.
