Roddy Ricch Shares ‘Stop Breathing,’ A Boastful New Single

Roddy Ricch is continuing to offer fans new music. Just months after the release of his latest EP, The Big 3, Roddy is gearing up for his new mixtape, Feed Tha Streets 3. Earlier this month, Roddy shared the G Herbo and Doe Boy-assisted “Ghetto Superstar.” Tonight, he has shared his latest mixtape cut, “Stop Breathing.”

The song is a braggadocious anthem, on which, he proudly displays his jewelry, and of course, his high fashion.

“Look out the window, what do I see? / A couple yachts, they got some thots that trot the seven seas / Got CC’s and Louis V’s outta every season / Corner me please, four G’s make them stop breathin’,” he rap-sings on the chorus.

In the song’s accompanying video, Roddy guides viewers through a day in his life, as he boards jets, dons fresh Louis Vuitton, and hits the stage with Post Malone during his “Twelve Carat” tour.

Back in August, Roddy shared an update on the mixtape in the form of a since-deleted open letter on Instagram. He noted that he was in a good place mentally, after having deactivated social media earlier this year.

“Been working hard on this Feed Tha Streets 3 album, getting back to my regular regimen and also been happier than I’ve been in a long time,” he said. “I understand things have escalated quickly and God has taken us to places we never would’ve imagined possible but I’m here for every challenge and obstacle. Thank You to everybody whose [sic] stayed supportive of me through all the glorious moments and all the hard times.”

Feed Tha Streets 3 will arrive later this year via Atlantic.

Trippie Redd Mourns A Lost Love On His New Song, ‘Save Me, Please’

Trippie Redd is gearing up for the release of his new mixtape, A Love Letter To You 5. Tonight, he has shared the visual for his new song, “Save Me, Please.” On the lush, guitar-driven track, Trippie grieves a lost love and expresses willingness to change.

“I’m tired of the fighting / I’m tired of the crying / Please, please come back in my arms / Oh, I’m tired of trying / I’m tired of dying / Please, please save me from myself,” he sings on the song’s chorus.

Back in August, Trippie teased A Love Letter To You 5 in an interview with Montreality, and revealed that it will be the last installment in the series, and will feature more of Trippie’s signature sound.

A Love Letter to You 5 is gonna be, if not the best body of music I’ve ever did, one of them. For sure,” he said. “This is the last one. This the last A Love Letter to You so…I done put my all into it. I’ve been working on this for like, three to four years. Dropping projects, but still having music tucked to the side for this project.”

He continued, saying, “Nothing is experimental. I’m not trying to be experimental with this project. I’m really just tryin’ to, you know, just drop straight Trippie Redd hits. That being said, every song on here gotta go crazy ’cause if it don’t, then f*ck me.”

MIA Puts Herself First On Her New Single, ‘Beep’

Ahead of her hotly-anticipated sixth studio album, Mata, MIA has shared another heater. On her latest single, “Beep,” the Sri Lankan artist continues the mood of self-love she set on her song, “Popular,” and puts herself first.

She opens the song, delivering her signature brand of rap-singing, as she says, “When I meet face to face / Yeah don’t be late / Talkin on the phone / Yeah I’m not gonna wait / When you gotta tell me you better locate.”

On the infectious chorus, MIA, raps “Yeah I’m tryna come through / beep beep / Yeah I’m bringing someone new / beep beep.”

As of now, MIA has not shared an official release date for the album, though she did threaten to leak it if it wasn’t out by the end of September.

In an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, she detailed some of the album’s themes, saying, “I think there’s a bit of a battle on the record. That there is a bit of a clash, but the clash is like your ego and spirituality. Those are the clashes. Because as a musician, you need some ego, otherwise you can’t do it. Also the genre of music that, genres I should say, is all very much like egocentric. It’s not like I’m an artist that came through gospel or something. For me, it was like to have that journey, and also, it was a significant time to discuss like Islamophobia…talking about wars in the Middle East, and things like that.”

Tate McRae Makes Bad Decisions With An Ex On Her New Single, ‘Uh Oh’

Just months after the release of her debut album, I Used To Think I Could Fly, Tate McRae is back with new music. On her latest single, “Uh Oh,” McRae reconnects with an ex — despite knowing that it’s not the best choice for her.

The song is driven by a bass-heavy, hyperpop-inspired instrumental, as she sings about revisiting a relationship that seemed to be toxic the first time around. On the song’s pre-hook, she is aware that this comes at the chagrin of her friends.

“You make me really, really good at makin’ bad decisions / All my friends know where to look every time I go missin’ / Seven texts and two missed calls / Know I can’t ignore ’em all,” she sings.

Old habits die hard as she arrives at the chorus, knowing she’ll regret the encounter the next day.

“Uh oh, I couldn’t help myself / I’m almost at your house / Again, again / Uh oh, I’m one foot in the door / My clothes are on your floor again, again I get a littlе drunk and it’s all I want / Tomorrow I’ll be sick, but tonight I’m numb / Uh oh, now we can just pretеnd / We won’t do it again, again, again,” she sings on the song’s chorus.

Marvel’s ‘Armor Wars’ Series Will Now Be A Whole Movie Instead

Things are shaking up at Marvel. Kevin Feige and company are playing an Uno Reverso card on their Armor Wars Disney+ series which is, as of today, no longer a series. Instead, showrunner Yassir Lester will convert it into a movie that will fit somehow into the framework of the MCU. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there’s currently no director attached to the project, but Don Cheadle (obviously) is still on board to play James Rhodes/War Machine.

This is the opposite of what happened with Hawkeye, which was originally going to be the stand-alone movie for Jeremy Renner’s character before it became one of the flagship series of Phase Four. It’s also a kind of resurrection for a stand-alone War Machine movie that was scrapped years ago.

Back during development for Iron Man 3, a movie focusing on War Machine was still in the mix, with eventual Black Panther screenwriter Joe Robert Cole taking a swing at the pitch. It didn’t get far in development before getting scrapped, but Cheadle said that the concept involved Rhodes’ inherent sense of duty challenged.

“There was definitely going to be a lot of tension between his job as a military man and his allegiances to the code that he swore an oath to uphold, versus the changing world,” Cheadle told Entertainment Weekly. “I think they probably would have run afoul of each other a little bit, but I don’t know if he would have been a straight fugitive, or if he would have become decommissioned. But there was definitely going to be some tension between those two worlds.”

Now, Marvel and Cheadle get another shot at it. If Armor Wars sticks to its comic book origins, it will feature Iron Man tech falling into the hands of the wrong people, and the timely theme of questioning how we can trust anyone with superpowers keeps on keepin’ on. For now, there’s no word on whether Armor Wars will start production in 2023 or when Marvel will slide it into the stacked queue of MCU movies on the docket.

We’re Picking Winners For Week 4 Of The 2022 NFL Season

Three weeks of the 2022 NFL season are in the books, but there is a lot of information still to be gleaned across the league. That is also true in this space, where we deliver a five-pack of against-the-spread and over-under selections each week. Despite a shaky Week 3, it has been a strong start with a 60 percent clip through 15 picks, but we will not rest on our laurels.

Before bringing the Week 4 slate, let’s take a quick glance at the progress.

  • Week 3: 2-3
  • 2022 Season: 9-6

Come get these winners.

Indianapolis Colts (-3) over Tennessee Titans

I still believe in the Colts. I do not believe in the Titans. There are some 3’s left in the market and I think that’s silly. We’ll pick one off and bank on the AFC South once again.

New York Jets (+3.5) over Pittsburgh Steelers

We usually like Mike Tomlin and the Steelers as underdogs. This is not that spot. Pittsburgh is now laying points with a largely putrid offense, and New York has Zach Wilson back for this game. I’ll admit that Wilson’s presence might add some potentially negative variance, but snagging more than a field goal here feels right.

Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos UNDER 45.5 points

These are two teams playing at a very, very slow pace. Denver is also quite filthy on defense and, while Las Vegas isn’t necessarily, the Broncos aren’t exactly lighting up the scoreboard these days. This should probably be 43.5 or 44 points and we’ll take the extra candy with the way both teams are operating in 2022.

Las Vegas Raiders (-2.5) over Denver Broncos

Two plays on the same game! This is a kitchen sink game for the Raiders after a disastrous 0-3 start. The Broncos won a hideous football game with only 11 points a week ago, and Denver does have the better defense. With that said, Las Vegas is undervalued here at home with some desperation, and I’m still fading the Broncos offense.

Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers UNDER 21 points in the first half

It might be gross on Monday night and that is okay with us. San Francisco is playing incredibly slowly in the first half this season with a bottom-five pace, and the 49ers also have offensive line issues. Los Angeles isn’t exactly in a groove on offense and San Francisco is very, very frisky on the defensive side. The full-game number is down to 42.5 as I write this, and I prefer 21 in the first half.

Trevor Noah Is Leaving ‘The Daily Show’

It’s a shock, but the rumors appear to be true. After 7 years of hosting The Daily Show, Trevor Noah is on the way out. According to Decider, the announcement — which happened at a taping of tonight’s show — also came as a surprise to the staff.

Admittedly, this isn’t the same size earthquake as when Jon Stewart left in 2015, but that’s only because Stewart made an indelible mark on the show after taking over from Craig Kilborn. Stewart was synonymous with The Daily Show, and his spirit will always be there casting a nostalgic shadow over it. Yet Noah made the show his own, delivering comedy and trenchant political jabs with a trademarked coolness that defied the divisive and sometimes forehead-smackingly insipid guests he had on. It’s true that ratings dropped when Noah took over, and have dropped again as of 2020 following a period of growing popularity for the comedian and the new style of the show, but it’s unclear whether that’s a factor in his exit. His contract with the show and Comedy Central is up this year, and it remains to be seen whether Comedy Central believes that a new host will change the trajectory of the show, or whether The Daily Show has a future at all.

If it does, the big question is who will take over behind the desk? If they pull from in-house (as they did with Noah), the current list of contributors includes Roy Wood, Jr., Desi Lydic, Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, and Dulce Sloan, but viral hitmaker Jordan Klepper hasn’t been away from the show that long. If they pull from outside, the possibilities are endless.

For now, we’ll have to wait and see what we get for Noah’s final moment of Zen. You can watch Noah’s announcement in the video above.

Tua Tagovailoa Was Taken Off On A Stretcher After Getting Slammed Down On A Sack

A week ago, Tua Tagovailoa got pushed to the ground late in the second quarter against the Bills and hit the back of his head on the turf, causing him to be extremely wobbly as he got up and was immediately taken to the locker room.

However, the young star QB returned for the second half with the Dolphins claiming it was his back locking up that caused him to struggle to walk off the field, and he led a comeback win over the Bills. On Thursday night, Tagovailoa was back on the field in Cincinnati and was again slung down after a sack against the Bengals in the second quarter, bouncing the back of his head off the turf and immediately went into a scary fencing response.

Tagovailoa would remain on the ground for several minutes as he was tended to by trainers, who removed the facemask from his helmet and brought out a backboard and stretcher to take him off of the field. It was a scary scene in Cincinnati and one could only hope it was the Dolphins taking precautionary measures, but given what happened to Tagovailoa just five days ago, there’s considerable concern that he’s sustained another significant head injury.

The NFLPA had already launched an investigation into Tagovailoa being cleared of concussion protocol on Sunday, and if there’s any findings in that investigation of the Dolphins clearing him too quickly or not following proper protocols this week, allowing him to play this week as he took another vicious hit to the back of the head will look considerably worse.

UPDATE: The first initial update from the team is that Tagovailoa is out with “head and neck” injuries.

The second update provided a sliver of good news in that Tagovailoa is conscious and has movement in his extremities, and has been taken to a local hospital.

The Thunder And Rockets Have Agreed To An Eight (!) Player Trade

Training camp has begun around the NBA, and in Oklahoma City there will still be a lot of getting to know new teammates going on by the end of Week 1.

After making a deal with the Hawks on Wednesday, sending Vit Krejci to Atlanta for Moe Harkless, the Thunder made their second trade of the week in a rather bizarre eight-player deal with the Houston Rockets that sees the two presumptive lottery teams swap four players each on their benches, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

If you are wondering why these teams would make this trade, which feels like something you’d do on NBA 2K out of boredom more than an actual basketball trade, it comes down to money, as always, with the Thunder getting well below the tax line while the Rockets get a second rounder for their troubles in adding a bit of salary.

As Woj notes, Derrick Favors figures to be on the move once again as the veteran center doesn’t really provide any value to a Rockets team looking to play its youngsters. As for the others involved in the deal, the most excited I can get about this is we now might see David Nwaba and Lu Dort share the floor in OKC which will be fun on the defensive end.
