After a long life of dodgy legal behavior, Donald Trump may finally be heading to jail. If he does, it’s not for one of his more known potential crimes. It’s because he may have violated the Espionage Act. Sources claim that the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago early last week may have been due to his taking of classified documents, some of them related to nuclear weapons. Why would he do that? It’s unclear. But Fox News hazarded a guess.

On Friday, host Martha MacCallum speculated about the 11 boxes the feds took from the former president’s resort home, allegedly filled with confidential documents. She wondered if maybe it all have been a mistake, as the president was, well, dealing with the fallout of his numerous failed attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

“Why? Why would they have been packed? Was it because it was such a chaotic time during that January period, post-election?” MacCallum postulated. “We all remember there was a whole heck of a lot going on. Were they told, ‘Just pack everything up and bring it to Mar-a-Lago’? What did the lawyers do after that when they got their hands on them? And what kind of transparency was there about what they actually had and how it should be handled?”

That “whole heck of a lot going on,” of course, was the aftermath of the Jan. 6 riot, when Trump helped whip up an already angry and misinformed crowd of supporters, who then stormed the Capitol building. Was he distracted by all the GOP party members ditching him (albeit temporarily)? Was he going through Twitter withdrawal? Whatever the case, it’s telling that even Fox News can’t defend him from one scandal without inadvertently acknowledging another.

Anyway, fret not, because Sean Hannity thinks Trump can still run for president while in the slammer.

In May, Jenny Lewis announced tour dates with The Chicks and Trampled By Turtles to promote her long-awaited 2019 comeback album On The Line. However, the Rilo Kiley bandleader announced yesterday that she’s canceling any and all shows that take place indoors due to COVID.

Cancelled dates include her shows in Richmond, VA; Stroudsburg, PA; Asbury Park, NJ; Baltimore, MD; Saxaphaw, NC; Asheville, NC. “Out of an abundance of caution due to the ongoing COVID situation, Jenny Lewis will not perform at any indoor venues for the remainder of the year. Therefore, it’s with great disappointment that the below indoor shows have been cancelled,” her social media statement read. “Check with your point of purchase for refund information. Jenny and her band will continue forward with the outdoor festival dates: Live On The Green, XPoNential Festival, Sound On Sounds Music & Arts Festival, Wildwood Revival and Moonstone Festival.”

Is Donald Trump going to jail? Or is he going to run for president? Why not both! On Monday, FBI agents searched Mar-a-Lago, the former commander-in-chief’s current residence. By the end of the week, sources told The Washington Post that among the items removed were classified documents relating to nuclear weapons. It’s possible Trump violated the Espionage Act, as the far-right site Breitbart inadvertently revealed. But if you’re worried that Trump doing time could keep him from the most powerful gig on the planet, guess again.

On Friday’s episode of The Sean Hannity Show, the Fox News host attempted to mollify fears that Trump couldn’t run a third time.

“What do you think the next thing that happens here is, do you think that they would try and indict the former president in the hopes of convicting him and having him in jail at the time of the next election to prevent him from running,” he said. “Because a conviction by the way, constitutionally, would not prevent him from running for office.”

Whether this is true or not, it doesn’t hide the fact that Trump is potentially in deep doo-doo. By dragging classified documents down to the Florida resort in which he now lives, As Marc Elias, the top lawyer in Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign pointed out, Trump may have violated U.S. Code Title 18, Section 2071. That law states that anyone “having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States.”

But Hannity wasn’t moved by that one etiher. “You know, this code that is being cited by Marc Elias and all these other people negates the very enumerated qualifications in the Constitution, and the specific requirements for somebody not to be eligible to run, and that would be impeachment and conviction,” Hannity said. “It doesn’t mention anything about being, you know, maybe not following every single dotted ‘I’ and crossed ‘t’ in the Presidential Records Act of the National Archives Act.”

In any case, good thing Trump’s already used to living in a massive space with lots of strangers.

What was supposed to be a special day for Bella Poarch quickly turned into a disaster. Today, the TikTok star-turned-singer dropped her debut EP, Dolls, and when Twitter news account PopCrave shared the news of the EP, Poarch appeared to respond to the tweet saying, “better than any cardi album.”

Cardi B caught wind of this tweet, and shared a screenshot of a private Instagram message from Poarch, who said she was a fan of Cardi’s music.

More tweets came from Poarch’s account, including one that embedded a poll asking her followers to say whether they were “Team Nicki” or “Team Cardi.”

In another tweet, which seemed to make it clear that Poarch was hacked, the hacker threatened to leak nude images of Cardi if the tweet received 100,000 likes.

Poarch has appeared to regain access to the account, and she has since said, “I just woke up to this mess an hour ago and I’ve been working with Twitter to get back into my account. Someone hacked me while I was asleep but everything’s okay now. And I’m so sorry to @iamcardib for the dumb sh*t that was tweeted.”

This morning, Jack Harlow stopped by Today to perform a slew of his summer hits, including “Nail Tech,” “Industry Baby,” “What’s Poppin’,” and “First Class.” This year has proven to be a big one for Harlow, who released his buzzy sophomore album, Come Home, The Kids Miss You, back in May. On the album’s tracklist are several big-name collaborators, including Pharrell Williams, Drake, and Justin Timberlake.

When an anchor mentioned his coveted list of collaborators, Harlow revealed he still has one collaboration he is manifesting.

“Andre 3000, that’s a big one I’ve been manifesting for a while,” he said. “A lot of the collaborations you just named are ones that in interviews over the years I hadn’t done yet…I was like man, I just want Pharrell, Drake — and then they would happen. I’m just gonna keep saying André 3000 with faith that it will happen.”

This isn’t the first time Harlow has expressed admiration for André 3000 and Outkast. In a 2021 interview with Complex, Harlow said that hearing artists like Drake rep Toronto, Kendrick Lamar rep Compton, and Outkast rep Atlanta, inspired him to be a voice for his hometown, Louisville.

“I’d hear Outkast, or I’d hear Drake, or I’d hear Kendrick Lamar talk about where they’re from and rep it,” he said, “And I was like, ‘Who’s going to do that for Louisville?’”

The UK’s buzziest girl group has another heater on their hands. Hot off the release of their debut EP, The Lead, Flo has just dropped a new video for their song, “Summertime.”

In the video, the ladies, Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma and Renée Downer, make an impromptu getaway, boarding a plane and making an escape to the beach for a weekend. In various scenes, the girls are also seen shopping, swimming at a mansion, and taking in various sights within their destination.

“Me and my girls are going in this summer / Hair, nails, everything did like stunners / And we gon’ do anything we wanna / Yeah, we gon’ do anything we wanna,” they sing on the song’s chorus.

Flo has garnered a large following thanks to social media, as well as their catchy, delightfully nostalgic music, which feels reminiscent to the late ’90s and early 2000s. In a recent interview with NME, the ladies said they ultimately want to make people feel good with their music.

“Since girl groups are basically non-existent right now, we have a chance to really make music that people can feel and relate to and bring back that sound,” said Downer. “We want to sell out arenas and just completely take over!”

The only goal every single team in the NFL has in the preseason is to get out of it without any significant injuries, particularly to key players. No one is more important to protect than the quarterback, which is why most starters will only play a few possessions (if at all) to get some game-speed reps and then return to the controlled environment of the practice field where they wear the special “don’t touch” red (or whatever color) jerseys.

In the Eagles and Jets opener, unfortunately both quarterbacks had a scare, with the Jets seeing Zach Wilson go down with a knee injury after making a cut on a scramble. Wilson would limp to the locker room and was ruled “questionable” to return. On the Eagles side, an early scramble from Jalen Hurts likewise led to some concern when he got cracked on a very late hit on the Jets sideline, pulling up and taking two full steps out of bounds before getting lit up by linebacker Quincy Williams up high.

Luckily Hurts was fine and popped back up and returned to the game, with the Jets getting flagged for the play, but a 15-yard penalty was not enough in the eyes of Eagles coach Nick Sirianni, who had some choice words for the New York sideline.

It’s understandable why Sirianni would be this mad in this spot. That’s an unacceptable hit in any game, but especially a preseason contest when everyone should know the deal and be trying to keep folks healthy.

The good news was Hurts would go on to deliver a touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert to cap off the drive, going 6-for-6 for 80 yards and the TD on his first (and only) drive of the game, leaving Philly fans with plenty to be excited about.

The New York Jets are hoping to begin the path out of the basement of the AFC this season, with the chief reason for hope in New York being the expected development of starting quarterback Zach Wilson in his second season.

After being taken second overall by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft, Wilson had a rocky first season, starting 13 games in which he completed 55.6 percent of his passes for 2,334 yards, nine touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. It was the type of rookie season many young quarterbacks have had while making their debut for a bad team, but with some new weapons and a (hopefully) improved offensive line in front of him, the Jets were hoping to take a step forward in respectability this season.

Unfortunately, it took less than a half of preseason football for there to be concern for the Jets about that step forward after they saw Wilson go down on a non-contact injury after a scramble in their preseason opener against the Eagles.

Wilson would get up and try to walk it off, but ultimately went back down to the turf as the Jets medical staff came out and eventually walked off the field and then to the locker room. The team’s official update was that he was “questionable” to return with a knee injury, but given it is the preseason there is no reason for the Jets to risk any aggravation of the injury by playing him further.

Hopefully it was just a tweak and a scare for Wilson and he’ll be no worse for wear going forward in camp and into the regular season.

The reality is a wide variety of families hire help to care for children for a wide variety of reasons. And often the bonds that children form with their nannies can be wonderful, loving connections that last a lifetime.
