Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla have become fast friends: Over the past few months, they linked up on “Wanna Be” and now they’re on the road together for the Hot Girl Summer Tour. Despite their current closeness, though, the start of their friendship wasn’t perfect.

The two chatted with each other for a new episode of the Close Friends Only With Instagram podcast, and Glo said, “I first met you at your Hottieween party last year, and I ain’t gonna lie, I was kinda shy. You were just acting like you weren’t drinking that night. I was like… in my head, I’m like, ‘This b*tch ain’t acting like she ain’t drinking,’ like, ‘What’s up with this b*tch?’”

As Glo trailed off with laughter, Megan exclaimed, “You is not telling the truth!” She continued, “You know what it is? ‘Cause you be coming late and then you be like, ‘Yeah, come on, let’s turn up.’ First of all, you need to catch up. That’s what you don’t like to do: You don’t like to catch up.”

Glo laughed as she agreed with Meg’s take. A few minutes later, Glo explained what her first impression of Megan was, saying, “You was nice […] when I first met you, on God. […] You were sweet as f*ck.” Meg asked if Glo thought she was going to be sweet and Glo continued, “I mean, like, you come off as standoff-ish. […] You come of like you nice, but you standoff-ish. So that’s why I told you I was shy.”

As for Megan’s impression of Glo, she said, “I really didn’t know what you was gonna be like before I met you. I was like, OK, from afar, you was turnt, but I didn’t know how turnt it was gonna be. I ain’t know if it was some bullsh*t for, like, Instagram, or if it was gonna be real life. But then when I got to know you, I was like, ‘Yes, this might be my cousin!’ Like, ‘This is my people!’ So yeah, I thought you was really sweet, too, and I thought you was funny as hell.”

The Substance was the talk of the 77th Cannes Film Festival. You’ll understand why after watching the trailer above.

Directed by Coralie Fargeat (Revenge), the body horror movie stars Demi Moore as a fading celebrity who injects a substance known as, well, The Substance into her body, unleashing “another version” of herself played by Margaret Qualley. The thing is, as the voiceover says, “you can’t escape from yourself.”

Moore talked about why she wanted to star in The Substance, which was partially inspired by David Cronenberg’s The Fly, at the film’s premiere. “I look for things that push me out of my comfort zone; the opportunity to make a better person and actor. This touched on so many themes that we all face, we seek validation and belonging,” she said. “It takes us to extremes and allows us to step into it in a unique way.” Moore added, “Through the process of the film, I think I came out with greater acceptance of myself than I am.”

What happens when the world’s biggest pop star starts dating an NFL Hall Of Fame-bound tight end? Well, for Kansas City Chiefs chief executive officer Clark Hunt, it looks like a whole lot of money.

Hunt told Bloomberg that Taylor Swift’s high-profile relationship with Travis Kelce led to a 30-percent increase in the team’s fan base.

“I always want to point out how happy I am for Taylor and Travis in the relationship. I’ve seen them together and they make a make a fantastic couple,” he said, adding that “the growth in our female fan base has been amazing over the last year.” It helps that the Chiefs are a very good team. Literally the best in the league.

The “Taylor Swift effect,” as it were, can be seen by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Kelce having the most in-demand jerseys in the NFL, according to Yardbarker. Interestingly, however, neither of them led the league in sales of officially licensed apparel. That honor belongs to Philadelphia Eagles signal-caller Jalen Hurts. In fact, from March 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024, Travis’ now-retired brother Jason was a bigger seller than the Chiefs tight end.

Which is weird, because he’s been known to wear no jersey (or shirt) at all.

Tyler The Creator isn’t afraid to speak his mind. He’s also not afraid to look back and own up to faults in his past conduct.

In a recent interview on Mavericks With Mav Carter, Tyler spoke about seeing the Netlfix series Painkillers and how it changed his perspective on Eminem’s album Recovery. Tyler said (find the video clip here):

“When [Recovery] came out, I f*cking hated it. Hated it, publicly was like, ‘This sh*t is wack,’ didn’t like it. Charli XCX owned this summer with Brat and Brat And It’s The Same But There’s Three More Songs So It’s Not. In fact, Brat is so strong that Charli XCX is influencing a presidential campaign in a country she doesn’t even reside in.

But she isn’t satisfied.

On Wednesday, August 14, Charli XCX posted a TikTok soundtracked by a fan’s mash-up of her Brat track “360” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams.” Written atop the video is, “I’m in Poland… There’s a whiff of autumn in the breeze.. Something is shifting.” That’s a vague indication that perhaps Brat summer will evolve into Brat autumn, but there’s a more direct tease in the caption: “Maybe one more remix and then ?”

The last time Charli XCX moved like this on social media, she dropped a “Guess” remix featuring Billie Eilish — complete with a video in which it’s raining panties. Finneas and The Dare co-produced the song.

Before that, Charli XCX and Lorde revamped “Girl, So Confusing” and famously “worked it out on the remix.”

Brat was released on June 7 and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Charli XCX and Troye Sivan’s co-headlining Sweat tour will come stateside on September 14 and hit iconic venues like New York City’s Madison Square Garden before wrapping in Seattle, Washington on October 23.

Jayson Tatum‘s stint at the Paris Olympics could have gone better. While he became a two-time Olympic gold medalist as a member of the United States men’s basketball team, Tatum got a few DNP-CDs and struggled to get into the sort of groove that we’ve seen him get into during his time with the Boston Celtics.

Adele’s banter is unmatched. Anyone attending an Adele concert is guaranteed to hear generational vocals and entertaining opinions. During her current residency in Munich, Germany, Adele has confirmed her engagement to Rich Paul and performed “Chasing Pavements” for the first time in years.

According to a fan-taken video circulated by Pop Crave on X (formerly Twitter), Adele also took time during what appears to be her Wednesday, August 14, show to praise Chappell Roan.

“Chappell Roan is her name, yes?” Adele said. “I heard a song a little while ago at my birthday, and I loved it, and it was one of my friend’s playlists. And then, I went down a rabbit hole on Monday. All day long. She is spectacular, and it turns out, she’s not just got one song. She’s got, like, seven f*cking brilliant songs. You probably rolled your eyes at this headline. At this point, who wouldn’t? It’s difficult to take any rumor seriously about Rihanna’s ninth album, which would be her first LP since 2016 if it ever arrives, but it’s also worth relaying because any glimmer of hope is better than the deafening possibility that Rihanna might never release another album.

This week, Jack Hardwick of The US Sun reported, “Rihanna’s ninth album is finally on the cusp of being released.”

“I can reveal the ‘Diamonds’ singer is also in talks for a huge world tour throughout 2025, which has the potential to be one of the biggest comebacks of all time,” the tabloid additionally relayed. “But the good news for Rihanna’s fans does not stop there, as I understand she is once again at the top of Glastonbury’s list to headline next summer’s event. She had secretly been booked to perform at Worthy Farm in 2023, but dropped out after becoming pregnant with her second child Riot, with rapper ASAP Rocky.”

Rihanna revealed her second pregnancy while performing the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in February 2023. Fans had hoped that Rihanna’s Super Bowl show would act as a launching pad for her desperately awaited return to music.

Drake attended Michael Rubin’s annual Fourth Of July all-white party in The Hamptons, and his presence directly impacted the party’s playlist.

Rubin confirmed to The Breakfast Club that there was truth behind rumors claiming that Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topping Drake diss track “Not Like Us” was not allowed to be played at the party.

“Drake’s my friend for a long time,” Fanatics CEO Rubin said. “I’m not gonna invite him and then have, you know, look, he’s obviously going through a little bit of a battle right now. I’m not gonna have him come there — I just didn’t think it was appropriate. So, I just sent a note, I said, ‘Hey, let’s not play anyone’s music that’s feuding with anyone that’s there.’”

Rubin noted that Drake had not asked Rubin to prevent “Not Like Us” from playing.

“The day before, we had a small barbecue for a few hours that was supposed to be thirty people [but] turned into 200 people for about ten hours,” he added. “That was the pre-game to the white party. When they turned the music on, just like in my house, they put RapCaviar, and ‘Not Like Us’ came on. It was in the middle of ‘Not Like Us.’ I’m like, ‘Get that off! Get that off!’ [Drake] was pulling up soon.”

Elsewhere this week, former US President Barack Obama raised eyebrows by omitting “Not Like Us” from his 2024 summer playlist.

Last month, BigHit Music teased that BTS star Jung Kook would release Jung Kook: I Am Still. The extent of the information provided was, “Coming Soon to Cinemas!”

On Wednesday, August 14, BigHit confirmed that Jung Kook: I Am Still, Jung Kook’s “first official documentary,” will premiere in cinemas worldwide on September 18. The documentary was directed by Junsoo Park, a frequent BTS collaborator.

Billboard posted a video showing Jung Kook announcing the news.

“The film presents exclusive never-before-seen footage and interviews, alongside electrifying live performances that delve into the creative process, unwavering work ethic, and unique challenges faced by a global superstar,” a press release stated, as per Variety. “It offers viewers an intimate look into the journey behind his solo debut that showcased the pinnacle of Jung Kook’s artistry and catapulted him to a global popstar.”

Variety additionally relayed that Big Hit delineated the documentary’s timeline as “beginning around the time Jung Kook released ‘Seven,’ a song featuring the American rapper Latto, in a lead-up to his first solo album, Golden.”

“Seven” dropped in July 2023, and Jung Kook released Golden last November. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

As a group, BTS has been on hiatus since announcing mandated South Korean military service in October 2022.
