The Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks met on Monday night in a big-time battle of top teams in the NFC so far this season, and it didn’t take long for the Lions to make an early statement. Detroit jumped on top of Seattle 14-0, and while the Seahawks would battle back, they struggled to keep the Lions offense in check throughout the game.

Detroit established the running game early, setting a physical tone that they maintained throughout the game, even as they shifted more of their balance to the passing attack. In the third quarter, David Montgomery exemplified that physical attack with one of the best individual efforts of the year in the NFL, catching a check down from Jared Goff and laying out Seahawks DB Devon Witherspoon with a vicious truck stick, as Witherspoon attempted to put a big hit on the Lions running back.

15 years ago, this would’ve led a “JACKED UP!” segment next Monday night, but even in today’s NFL we can appreciate this kind of collision that’s just good football, as they go (mostly) shoulder to shoulder. Montgomery goes on to continue his incredible effort by shaking off more defenders and bouncing it across to the opposite side of the field for a 40-yard gain, and maybe my favorite thing on the play is that Witherspoon pops up and is one of the ones chasing him down to force him out of bounds.

The Lions would cash that effort from Montgomery in for another touchdown to extend their lead back to 14, as the two teams went back-and-forth scoring points in the third quarter in an incredible offensive display.

Texas police’s search for “All My Life” rapper Lil Reese is over.

According to TMZ, on September 17, an arrest warrant for a domestic incident was issued for Lil Reese (real name Tavares Taylor). Today (September 30), the outlet revealed Lil Reese was formally arrested and charged for aggravated assault of a family or household member.

Earlier in the month, Lil Reese was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend inside of Houston, Texas nightclub, The Pinkhouse. However, at the time of the alleged attacked, authorities were unable to take Lil Reese into custody. Since then, he was supposedly on the run well until yesterday.

Sources told TMZ that Lil Reese that was detained while at The Address, another popular hot spot in Houston. The same insider said officers were “already at the club,” as to suggest they weren’t called there specifically for Lil Reese but rather “caught wind” of his “presence.”

Although witnesses of the allege altercation confidently claim it was indeed Lil Reese who supposedly punched and strangled his ex-girlfriend he maintains his innocence.

In a statement provided to TMZ, Lil Reese’s attorney Carl Moore addressed the alleged incident. “Mr. Taylor vehemently denies these false accusations,” he said. “We look forward to his day in court.”

Based on the arrest record obtained by TMZ, Lil Reese was denied bond.

What is considered out of bounds for a rock star? Well, fans of Foo Fighters have drawn a line in the moral sand. On September 10, the “Times Like Theses” musicians’ frontman Dave Grohl announced that he fathered a daughter outside of his marriage to director and actress Jordyn Blum.

Although many supporters have vowed to turn away from the band, others including Slipknot’s Corey Taylor have extended him grace. During his recent appearance on Your Mom’s House podcast, Taylor came to Grohl’s defense.

When asked about the situation by host and married comedian duo Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky, Taylor wanted others to remember no one is without flaw. “Obviously, it’s very irresponsible,” he said. “I know there are a lot of disappointed fans out there because of the image he’s developed. But I have to remind people that we’re not perfect. He was one of the last people to really have that image. This happening does not mean he’s not a nice person, because I happen to know him as a person. It means he’s got f*cking issues and he f*cked up. He’s not perfect.”

Taylor then turned his attention to those directly impacted by the news, Grohl’s family, saying: “It is going to be very difficult for his family. I’m not gonna make any assumptions about why or how it happened. I’m sober, but at the same time, I’ve gone through my own sh*t. Did he do something horrible? Yes. But if that’s the one thing that defines him, then what the f*ck are we doing? It’s disappointing.”

The Tennessee Titans came into Week 4 as one of three teams winless on the season. The Bengals finally got a win on Sunday, while the Jaguars dropped to 0-4, giving the Titans a chance to move out of last place in the AFC South if they could beat the reeling Dolphins in Miami on Monday Night Football.

One of the big problems for the Titans has been turnovers, as quarterback Will Levis led the NFL with eight giveaways coming into Monday night. Some of those have been breathtakingly bad, headlined by his pick-6 to lose to the Bears in Week 1. Every week, Levis seems to invent new ways to give the ball to the other team, and it didn’t take long on Monday night for him to present his first gift to the Dolphins.

After crossing midfield on the Titans opening drive, Levis dropped back and threw a ball directly at Dolphins defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, who was dropping into coverage. Now, being a lineman, Ogbah doesn’t have the best hands and has his wrists heavily taped, so the ball bounced off his hands and, in the moment, looked like it might fall incomplete. However, Ogbah somehow pinned the ball between his thighs before it got to the ground and got a hand underneath to maintain control and get the pick in an unbelievable effort.

It’s pretty incredible how these things happen to Levis, but luckily for him, the Dolphins are also extremely bad at offense right now as they’re on their third quarterback — Snoop Huntley, who they elevated from the practice squad this week — after Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion in Week 2. On the ensuing drive, the Dolphins worked it into Tennessee territory before Huntley threw a backwards pass that Tyreek Hill couldn’t handle, and despite a half-hearted effort to swat the ball out of bounds, Arden Key scooped it up for the Titans.

It took a review to call it a fumble and Titans ball, which saved the Dolphins 7 points as Key would’ve been able to house that had it not been blown dead on the field. The bizarre first quarter continued on the Titans next drive when Levis injured his throwing shoulder diving for a first down (which he was not given), leading to Mason Rudolph coming into the game for the Titans.

The countdown for new Jennie music has officially begun. With Blackpink on a brief hiatus, the “You & Me” singer will use the time to focus on her solo musical venture.

Back in March, she teamed up with Matt Champion on the track, “Slow Motion.” Today (September 30) across her social media pages, Jennie teased her next standalone song.

“10/11, Mantra,” she wrote.

In a snippet posted to X (formerly Twitter), Jennie’s forthcoming English-speaking single, “Mantra” showed off the fun and flirty side of the K-pop sensation. “It’s not that deep / I’m not that drunk / Sometimes girls just gotta have fun / Throw it back, all that ass / Me and my sis, we’re too attached / It’s not that deep, we’re not that dumb / Look at them bunnies on the run / Inside glowing like the sun / You’re gonna feel this every day,” sang Jennie.

Although Jennie hasn’t promised any accompanying visual to go along with the track, fans have already begun to hypnotize about what this era of creative will entail from Jennie. Jennie’s time on HBO’s The Idol might have been short-lived, but her solo music journey is just getting started and Blackpink’s base is ready to cheer her on.

The judge in the ongoing racketeering trial against Young Thug appears to have reached the end of her patience with the prosecution. Judge Paige Reese Whitaker upbraided Chief Assistant District Attorney Adriane Love for the presentation of the State of Georgia’s case during court today, just ahead of considering a mistrial motion filed by the defense.

“I don’t want to malign the prosecutor standing in front of me right now, so I’m not going to say the possible things it could be,” Whitaker said. “It is baffling to me that somebody with the number of years of experience that you have, time after time after time, continues to seemingly and purposefully hide the ball to the extent you possibly can, for as long as you possibly can. I really don’t want to believe that it is purposeful, but honestly, after a certain number of times, you start to wonder how can it be anything but that. Unless it is just that you are so unorganized that you are throwing this case together as you try it.”

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the trial has become the longest in Georgia state history as a result of numerous delays, many the direct result of the DA’s office’s presentation of its case, as well as issues with its previous judge, who was removed and replaced by Whitaker earlier this summer. The trial, which was to have begun in 2021, still has over 100 witnesses to get through, and if not declared a mistrial, is expected to continue into next year.

Young Thug is accused of one count of conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, possession of a firearm while committing a felony; possession of a machine gun; two counts of participating in criminal street activity; and three counts of violating the Georgia Controlled Substances Act. The DA’s office says Thug was the co-founder and leader of a criminal street gang, Young Slime Life — which not so coincidentally shares initials with his label, Young Stoner Life. The State believes that the label is a cover for and funds the gang’s activities, which include a string of violent crimes such as murder, robbery, and assault.

Tierra Whack is still promoting her album World Wide Whack, picking up where the “Two Night” video left off in the new video for “Moovies.” At the end of the prior video, a massive parade float balloon version of Whack was left demolished by the unhinged citizens of her hometown, but at the beginning of “Moovies,” the Philly native puts herself back together with the aid of some normal-sized balloon animals.

Then, an animated Whack goes on a succession of movie dates with a colorful collection of cartoon characters — including the Philadelphia Phillies’ mascot, the Phillie Phanatic. Somewhere, Gritty is shedding tears into cheesesteak over missing his shot (if anyone wants to photoshop gritty into the Wolverine Crush meme with Whack and Phanatic’s phamily photo in the picture frame, they will win the internet today, at least in the City Of Brotherly Love).

Whack previously featured the Phanatic in her NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert, explaining the mascot’s presence as an abundance of hometown love on her part. “Y’all know I gotta keep it Philly,” she said. “I bleed green. I bleed red. Anything Philly is all me. I had to bring a piece of home with me.”

9-1-1: Lone Star is back for a new season, and with it brings the return of your favorite firefighters and paramedics and the crazy emergencies they’re tasked with responding to. Season five brought some new changes to the show: Carlos is now a Texas Ranger, replacing the position his now-deceased father once had and Wyatt and now is 9-1-1 operator, replacing the role Grace Ryder had. Outside of that, the season five opener saw the 126 crew go through a bit of a battle as Paul and Marjan battle it out for the open lieutenant. With all that being said, episode two of season five is set to be a big one.

When Does 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5, Episode 2 Come Out?

The second episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star season five, titled “Trainwrecks,” will arrive on September 30. The episode air on Monday, 9/30 on FOX starting at 8 pm EST/5 am PST. ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ season five will air on FOX and stream on Hulu. Season 1-4 are available to stream on Hulu.

We’ve been waiting since the casting for the film adaptation of Wicked was first announced back in 2021, but the time has finally arrived. Promo for the movie kicked into gear this week — fitting for the witchy season — and as anticipated, it’s already a gold mine of delightfully entertaining content featuring stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. First up is the infamous Vanity Fair Lie Detector Test, and y’all… Y’ALL.

Right up top, Erivo’s asking Grande about conspiracy theories including the fake moon landing and Flat Earth theories, and the lie detector machine immediately throws the Florida native under the bus. To the first, the machine spits out an “inconclusive” result, prompting a panicked outburst from the “Thank U, Next” singer, who sounds terrified about the perception this could generate about herself, worrying that her Florida origins would almost certainly lend credibility to an idea she believed the conspiracies.

She also answered questions about whether or not she’d had various surgical procedures, including something called a “fox eye lift,” which she didn’t know existed until people accused her of getting one, a chin implant, which she seemed incredulous about, and a BBL, which she jokingly answered “yes” to, only for the machine to indicate “deception.”

“This is the best day of my life,” she cracked between answers, “Take that, you YouTube people!” Good for her, and shame on those people who make it their business to nitpick her body and choices, just because she did well for herself.

Media day is always a time when the level of excitement and optimism is at its highest for the upcoming season. Everyone is in the best shape of their lives, added some muscle, worked really hard on their game all summer, and is focused and ready for the upcoming season.

For the Los Angeles Lakers, this year’s media day featured all of those talking points — and the excitement of a new head coach — but the biggest story was the first ever NBA media day featuring a father and son on the same team. LeBron James and Bronny James snapped their first official pictures together wearing their Lakers uniforms since Bronny got taken by the team in the second round of June’s NBA Draft, but the two have been on the court together already in pre-camp practices getting ready for the season.

Those scrimmages have already yielded some father-son trash talk, with LeBron posting to IG last week about getting a bucket on Bronny, calling it “good defense, better O.” On media day, the two joined the Spectrum SportsNet desk and Bronny got asked about that bucket, claiming he reviewed the film and LeBron stepped out of bounds so he got a stop, leading to some very funny back and forth between the two (1:40 mark of the below video).

Bronny: “Alright, in all seriousness, I looked at the film and he did step out of bounds. But I’m not gonna go there. I’m not gonna go there right now.”

LeBron: “What do you mean you’re not going to go there right now? You just went there!”

Bronny: “I mean, I know you did.”

LeBron: “I stepped out of bounds?”

Bronny: “You did. You stepped out of bounds. I got the stop.”

LeBron: “They don’t even have that camera angle of the baseline like that!”

LeBron then asked Bronny to tell them about when he forced his son to dribble out of bounds, leading to another argument about LeBron committing a foul. It’s terrific stuff and it’s clear that LeBron is having a blast having Bronny around, even if the younger James is learning the frustrations of having do defend his dad in practice. Still, he also knows how to press his dad’s buttons and wind him up, telling him he stepped out of bounds and fouled him. The two figure to have some fun battles on the practice court this camp and during the season, and long as Bronny doesn’t call LeBron “dad” on the court, everything will be fine.
