Here’s The Full List Of 2022 Oscar Winners

The 2022 Oscars are upon us, and it’s another bizarre year for awards. The show’s trio of hostesses (Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes) will hopefully keep the pace moving at a fast clip, with the focus upon nominees and winners as the pandemic cools down. Clearly, though, the mood is a different one, and the winners might even hold their trophies upside down in solidarity for some newly air-jilted categories. Who will dominate this ceremony: Power of the Dog, Licorice Pizza, Dune, CODA, or another selection? We’ll be updating this complete winners list all night as more awards are announced, so make sure to keep checking back. Winners will be marked in bold.

UNC Ended Saint Peter’s Miraculous Run To Set Up A Final Four Showdown With Duke

Saint Peter’s run to the Elite Eight was nothing short of spectacular, as the Peacocks took down Kentucky, Murray State, and Purdue to earn a shot at North Carolina on Sunday. All tournament, Saint Peter’s had done a great job of setting the tone early, but on this night in Philadelphia, it was the Tar Heels that asserted their dominance from the jump and never relented.

UNC took a 9-0 lead out of the gates and while the Peacocks would settle in briefly after that, cutting the lead to 12-7, the size and speed of the Tar Heels simply overwhelmed Saint Peter’s from the jump, flying around on defense to bother Peacock shooters, who found themselves hurrying just to get looks off.

On the offensive end, it was Caleb Love and Brady Manek who got it going to open up a massive halftime lead for North Carolina. Love had 12 of his points in the first half, creating great looks for himself and his teammates.

Manek, meanwhile, found the stroke from three-point range as he’s shown off all tournament on his way to a 19-point night, and Armando Bacot was a force in the paint that the Peacocks had no answers for on the glass, piling up 22 rebounds (including 15 in the first half) to go along with 20 points.

Ultimately, the Heels coasted to a 69-49 win and set up the first ever meeting in the men’s tournament with rival Duke in the Final Four, which will be the late game on Saturday night in New Orleans on TBS, with storylines galore for what Carolina fans will hope is a second chance to spoil Coach K’s final season after dominating Duke in his last home game.

Freddie Gibbs And Benny The Butcher Spar Over Comments About Their Possible Joint Album

A year and a half ago, Freddie Gibbs and Benny The Butcher shared a video for their “Frank Lucas” collaboration. The song appeared on Freddie’s Alfredo project with The Alchemist, and just a month later, the rappers reconnected for “One Way Flight” from Benny’s Burden Of Proof album. Both projects were held in high regard that year, and furthermore, both Freddie and Benny expressed interest in doing a joint album the following year. However, things have soured between the rappers and it seemed to boil over this weekend.

It seems to date back to last fall when Freddie shared a pair of tweets that reference an attempted robbery in Houston that resulted in Benny being shot in the leg. “It be hard for me to listen to n****z after they get robbed,” Freddie wrote in one tweet. “They be rapping so gangster after the fact.” In the other, he wrote, “N****z don’t put the cities they get robbed in on the tour dates.” Some months later, when rumors claimed that Jim Jones punched Freddie in the face, Benny tweeted some laughing emojis. Earlier this year, during an interview with Ebro, Benny was asked if the joint album with Freddie would ever be released, and he replied bluntly, “probably won’t.”

More recently, during an appearance on B. Dot’s Most Necessary: Live Spotify show, Benny was once again asked about the joint album. In response, he said working with Gibbs “came and went, to be honest with you.” Freddie laughed at the response on Twitter and later shared some more thoughts about it on Instagram. “I know some other sh*t that came and went too, n****” he wrote. “Just keep my name out y’all mouth… just say next question, man.”

Benny wasn’t prepared to back down as he later tweeted, “How can u hate on a n**** u begged to do an album with…” This comment caused Freddie to unload on Benny through a string of posts on Instagram. “N****z whole marketing plan for they album is to beef with Freddie Gibbs,” he said referencing his spat with Gunna earlier this year. “That’s cute.” He continued, “If U opened up for me.” Freddie shared a meme of his character from Power Book IV: Force with the caption, “Sh*t bout to get ugly,” before returning to his message.

“Why would I beg a n**** to work with me when he do less than me?” Freddie wrote in another Instagram Story post. “Next time just get the Drake verse cleared and u ain’t gotta do all this for promo [rabbit emoji] I’m out [peace sign emoji].” He concluded his message by adding, “Head up fade solve everything. But y’all n****z ain’t got the nuts to sit in a room alone with me for 5 min.”

Chika Confirms That She’s Okay After Saying She Planned To End Her Life

Last spring, Chika revealed that she tried to end her life. At the time, she announced her retirement from music but later clarified that she was not bidding farewell to the music industry, but to life itself. “I have been working through a rough patch in life that trolls did not cause,” she wrote, alluding to some online bullying she was enduring. “However, in one of my most vulnerable moments, i was submerged in messages encouraging me to take my life.” Nearly a year later, Chika revealed that she attempted suicide but confirmed that she is now okay.

In a message she shared on Sunday, Chika simply wrote, “alive. wanna go home.” Previously she shared a lengthy post to her Instagram Story where she discussed plans to end her life. “I went to the top of the intercontinental, but could not jump. Not because I don’t want to, but because the metal stairs were scary,” she wrote. “That’s the thing about having a f*cked up brain. No matter how much pain you’re in, there will always be something holding you back. It’s draining & sad. It looks like crying wolf, but it’s not. It’s just difficult to find the right way. The quickest way. the painless way. I am tired of myself too.”

She continued, “I don’t need anyone feeling bad or worried bc I failed the last time I tried. save your emotions for when I succeed.” She concluded her lengthy message by writing, “No more typing. I’m going to finish my drink and find a way that works. Thanks for the ride, I hated it.”

Chika initial note earned many responses from fellow musicians. “Praying for Chika,” Latto wrote with prayer hands and heart emojis. “Praying that Chika is safe rn,” Chicago rapper Tobi Lou tweeted.

Houston rapper Monaleo, who has had her own struggles with suicide, also shared a warm message to Chika. “Chika we love you so much !” she wrote. “We would miss you tremendously. We need you here . You deserve to see the fruits of your labor and you deserve to live to see a happier version of yourself.” She added, “I know how you’re feeling right now sweet girl but you are a bright star. I love u.”

Kansas Crushed Miami In The Second Half To Punch Their Ticket To The Final Four

The Kansas Jayhawks entered Sunday afternoon in Chicago as the last remaining 1-seed in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, and after one half of play it looked like we might see a Final Four without a single top seed, as 10-seed Miami took a 35-29 lead into the break.

Both teams played good defense in the first half, but it was Miami’s ability to hit timely shots and get out on the break that pushed them to an early lead, led by one of their veteran leaders in Kameron McGusty. However, the second half saw Kansas tighten the screws on their defense and start to open things up offensively in one of the most dominant halves of basketball you’ll see at any level. The Jayhawks quickly erased the Hurricanes’ halftime lead and proceeded to pile on, beating Miami 47-15 in the second half en route to a 76-50 win, as they started to turn defense into offense and get out and run.

David McCormack scored eight quick points in the second half, finishing with 15 for the game, as the big man made his presence felt early before Kansas went to a small lineup that gave the Hurricanes offense fits. Christian Braun chipped in 12 points, but it was Ochai Agbaji that took control for the Jayhawks after a quiet first half, finishing the game with 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

On the defensive end, it was the likes of Agbaji and Dajuan Harris who turned up the pressure on Miami and forced them into turnovers and stagnant possessions, as the Hurricanes could not get stops or buckets to try and put a halt to the Jayhawk onslaught. With the win, Kansas locks themselves into a very intriguing matchup with Villanova in the Final Four in New Orleans, as the two bluebloods will square off for a right to play for a national title. Kansas punching their ticket leaves one more spot remaining for either UNC, trying to make it an all-blueblood Final Four, or St. Peter’s, trying to make history as the first 15-seed to reach the tournament’s final weekend.

Madison Cawthorn Claims D.C. Is Just Like ‘House Of Cards,’ Filled With Cocaine And Orgies

Madison Cawthorn recently took some time out from his busy schedule of dissing Ukraine, getting speeding tickets, and prowling Waffle Houses in a desperate search for supporters. In an interview with the arms group Warrior Poet Society, the North Carolina representative was asked how closely House of Cards is to the real D.C. Cawthorn claimed it was pretty much dead-on.

Calling it a “really well-done show,” Cawthorn drew on his own experiences of being in Congress for the last year and change, saying that he’s become familiar with the “the sexual perversion that goes on in Washington.” Then he painted a portrait of the nation’s capital as a drug-filled bacchanalia.

“Being kind of a young guy in Washington, where the average age is probably 60 or 70, and I look at all these people — a lot of them I’ve looked up to all my life, always paid attention to politics — then all of a sudden you get invited to ‘hey, we’re gonna have kind of a sexual get together at one of our homes, you should come,’” Cawthorn said. “Then you realized they’re asking you to come to an orgy.”

Cawthorn also claimed he’d seen key lawmakers, even ones trying to “remove addiction in our country,” doing cocaine bumps right in front of him. He didn’t name names, and he didn’t go into details. But as usual truth is stranger than fiction, even when that fiction is House of Cards.

Nicki Minaj Denies Remy Ma’s Claim That They Agreed To Not Speak About Each Other

Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma have not seen eye-to-eye for the better part of a half-decade, and through their beef, we’ve seen them take aim at each other on a number of rap records. Remy has dissed Nicki on songs like “SHEther” and “Another One” while Nicki took aim at her rival on tracks like “No Frauds” and verses on DJ Khaled’s “Nobody” and “I Can’t Even Lie.” Things have been a bit quiet between the two over the last few years, and during a recent interview on the Drink Champs podcast, Remy Ma claimed it was because of an agreement that she and Nicki arrived at.

“We had conversations, regular conversations,” Remy said on the podcast. “I never saw that one coming, because I felt like we had a conversation with her, because I’ve been in this predicament before, where I was the girl just coming in…” She added, “I just always felt like anything I say, people are gonna say I’m talking about her, anything she say, people are gonna say she’s talking about me, so let’s make an agreement that we never talk about each other.”

Remy continued, “Conversations. This is not even telling her. It’s like a conversation—a back-and-forth. I feel like any woman, you’re supposed to feel like you’re the sh*t. What you’re supposed to do? Get on a song and be, like, ‘Yeah, I’m number 2, or I’m number 3?’ No. You’re supposed to talk like you’re that b*tch and you’re the sh*t. Just never let it get there. And it was just certain sh*t that transpired behind the scenes, messages that I seen, that I know wasn’t fabricated. And I was just like, ‘Nah.’”

Despite this, Nicki chimed in to say that Remy’s claims were not true. “He must be misunderstanding what she saying to him,” she wrote in an Instagram comment. “Did he say? ‘This is you telling her that?’ For the record, I’ve never had this conversation with her or anyone.”

Remy has yet to respond to Nicki’s comment, so we’ll just have to wait and see where this goes — if anywhere at all.

Miley Cyrus Fought Back Tears As She Remembered Taylor Hawkins At Brazil’s Lollapalooza Festival

A large majority of the music world has taken time at some point this weekend to remember Taylor Hawkins. The Foo Fighters was found dead in a hotel room in Colombia on Friday night came during the band’s tour stop in Colombia where they were set to perform. While many artists around the world have shared touching posts and messages to remember Hawkins, others have taken to the stage to do so. For example, Coldplay performed “Evermore” as a tribute to Hawkins during their concert in Mexico. Just a day later, Miley Cyrus used the concert stage to remember Hawkins.

Prior to taking the stage at Brazil’s Lollapalooza Festival, Miley announced her performance would be in honor of Hawkins. “Tonights show is in honor of my friend Taylor Hawkins,” she wrote. “The most bad ass dude I know who would want me to shine and sing LOUD for the love of rock n roll! I’ve got this with a little help from my friend TH above & all of you. Let’s do it.” During her actual set on Saturday, Miley spoke further about Hawkins and revealed that he was the first person she called after she had an emergency plane landing last week.

“He was already at the festival and that would have been a time that I would have gotten to see my friend and I didn’t,” Cyrus said as she fought back tears. “I would have done anything to hang out with him one more time.” She continued, “I know that any time that I get onstage and any time that I get to play with my band — which if anything ever f*cking happened to any one of them it would fucking kill me. So I couldn’t imagine how the Foo Fighters felt today.”

Doja Cat Apologizes To Her Fans After Saying She’d Quit Music: ‘I Wasn’t Any Better’

A few days ago, Doja Cat found herself in a Twitter argument between herself and fans. It came after she canceled a performance in Paraguay due to a heavy rainstorm that would’ve made it dangerous for her to perform, as well as for her supporters to watch her set. Additionally, some were upset that Doja did not share any photos or videos from her time in that country.

In response to their complaints, Doja wrote on Twitter, “It’s gone and i don’t give a f*ck anymore i f*ckin quit i can’t wait to f*cking disappear and i don’t need you to believe in me anymore.” She added, “Everything is dead to me, music is dead, and i’m a f*cking fool for ever thinking i was made for this this is a f*cking nightmare unfollow me.” However, after some time to think and reflect on the situation, Doja has had a change of heart and she returned to Twitter to apologize to her fans.

“I can travel, I can eat good food, I can see new people, I can smile,” she wrote as she reflected on her career and accomplishments so far. “I can make memories that I dreamed of having, I can laugh, I can support my family and my friends, I can learn about the world, and I can give back to everyone because of you.” Contrary to her previous statements, she said, “I do owe people sh*t. I owe a lot.”

Doja continued, “I owe myself a lot too. I owe myself the chance to open up and be good to people. “I owe myself the death of my fears that don’t allow me to expand my heart. I didn’t come to another country to do something i can do everywhere else. that would be pointless in a way. I came here because I knew there was something new. New people. New things. New stories to learn. I came and I gave not enough. I need to give more because I noticed I’ve been taking a lot. Taking from almost everybody who’s reading this.”

In later tweets, Doja went back to her previous posts from her initial reactions with fans in Paraguay to she where she felt like she was wrong. “This is an example of me not reciprocating all the shit that’s been given to me,” she wrote in reply to a previous post she shared where she tweeted, “Don’t ask me for sh*t.” Doja replied to another old tweet where she wrote, “I’m not sorry,” and corrected herself saying, “I am.”

A pair of fans responded to Doja’s tweet with one saying they’re sorry for how Doja was treated while the other reminded Doja of her ability to put on amazing shows. In response to the former, Doja wrote, “I wasn’t any better,” and as for the latter, Doja wrote in part, “I’m not discrediting myself. I work my ass off. I know that. It’s tiring but i’m not suffering because of people like you. My suffering comes from myself. Not everybody else.”

Chris Wallace Said He Left Fox News Because He ‘No Longer Felt Comfortable’ With Where They Were Going

For nearly two decades, Chris Wallace was one of the few voices of reason at Fox News. Unlike most right-leaning hosts, he wasn’t openly partisan. He asked tough questions of figures others treated with kid gloves. He regularly enraged Donald Trump and his followers. Still, it was a bit of a shock late last year when he announced he was leaving the network, decamping for the forthcoming streamer CNN+. Now, nearly three months later, he’s finally opening up about why he split.

“I just no longer felt comfortable with the programming at Fox,” Wallace told The New York Times. “I’m fine with opinion: conservative opinion, liberal opinion,” he added. “But when people start to question the truth — Who won the 2020 election? Was Jan. 6 an insurrection? — I found that unsustainable.”

Last year it was reported that Wallace had complained to Fox News brass about Tucker Carlson, who has used his popular shows to spread misinformation about the pandemic, the 2020 election, the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, and more. Wallace confirmed to NYT that that was true.

“Before, I found it was an environment in which I could do my job and feel good about my involvement at Fox,” Wallace said. “And since November of 2020, that just became unsustainable, increasingly unsustainable as time went on.”

He admitted to being a bit of a “slow learner” when it comes to Fox News’ turn into, shall we say, more explosive content, but he maintains that it’s “changed over the course of the last year and a half.” So he “spent a lot of 2021 looking to see if there was a different place for me to do my job.” Now, at CNN+, he’ll host a daily interview show, where he’ll do less politics, chatting with the likes of William Shatner, former Disney honcho Bob Iger, even singing with folk legend Judy Collins.

Even though he was disturbed by the sudden exit of former CNN head Jeff Zucker, who hired him, he also says of his Fox News exit that “there has not been a moment when I have second-guessed myself about that decision.”
